New York Train Tunnel Plot Compromised By NYT Leak

Apparently, that is the case. It seems the FBI had to close in on the Jihadis earlier than they normally would have as a result of the New York Time SWIFT program leak:

Two law enforcement sources told FOX News, however, that the main target was the underground PATH train system that connects New York and New Jersey. Other transport systems are said to have been considered by the plotters, but they showed the most interest in the PATH trains.

The planning was not far along, one U.S. official said, but authorities “take aspirations of that sort seriously.”

It is not clear whether this case was one of several our sources claim they discussed in general terms with the New York Times, and which Treasury and Justice told the Times would be endangered if it went public with the SWIFT program. It appears the arrest of the plotter in Lebanon took place before the SWIFT story was leaked.

But another DOJ source added something interesting to the mix: “If you go back and look at some of our more successful anti-terrorism cases, they have focused on taking down entire networks. How do we do that? From the inside, peeling off a lead actor, turning him and using him to keep the plot moving forward so we can trace everyone else, the money, the accounts, the weapons dealers, everyone. I’ll just note that we weren’t able to do that with this case and leave it at that. We could have, but we weren’t able to. You’ll have to do the math for the Times.”

Mad Magazine cartoonist, and fellow counter-Jihadi, Yaakov Kirschen kicks butt. His blog is called Dry Bones.

In this cartoon, he expertly sums up not only the situation in Israel, but the nature of Jihadi thinking as well.

Sweden Sentences Man for Forcing FGM on His Daughter

Finally, a sentence handed down for a European Muslim parent who took his daughter out of the country for a clitoridectomy. These laws have been on the books for over two decades in some cases, but are widely ignored throughout European countries by the authorities. This, from the Brussels Journal:

Swedish Citizen Sentenced for Clitoridectomy
From the desk of Filip van Laenen on Thu, 2006-07-06 11:23
Female circumcision or clitoridectomy (removal of the clitoris) is a form of genital mutilation that is practised mostly in Islamic countries in East Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Last week, on the same day that nine Muslims were sentenced in Denmark for murdering a female family member in a so-called “honour killing,” a court in Göteborg in neighbouring Sweden, sentenced a 41-year old Swedish citizen, Ali Elmi Hayow, to four years’ imprisonment for the genital mutilation of his daughter. He also has to pay her 346,000 Swedish kronor (€37,300; $46,000; £26,000) in damages.

This is the first conviction in Sweden since the country prohibited clitoridectomy in 1982. In 1999 Sweden also outlawed taking children abroad for the mutilation. The maximum penalty for female genital mutilation (FGM) is ten years’ imprisonment. Hayow, a Somali immigrant, had his daughter, his eldest child, mutilated in Somalia.

Storm Track Disinformation: The Semantics of This War

From The Gathering Storm

“If you can’t identify your enemy, how can you defeat him?”

How many times have we heard that from the starboard side of the bloggesphere? And yet there is still much confusion not only by the average Joe but also from bloggers too. Even President Bush has made two grave mistakes with his regrettable mislabeling of this global war between civilizations as a weapon and tactic (the War on Terror) and his repeated statements of how we must “bring to justice’ the ground troops of our enemy.

I cringe every time I hear Bush say that we must bring the terrorists to justice which feeds right into the hands of the Left and anti-war crowd who see this world war as simply a police action that must be addressed in the courts and which had led to the recent Supreme Court decision that Bush did not have the lawful authority to hold military Tribunals.

We are in this muddied mess because we don’t have the proper definitions and semantic tools to understand who our enemy is.

Though better bloggers than myself have tired endlessly to educate both Muslims and non-Muslims to the threat of the enemy confronting us, we throw words around like, terrorists, jihadists, Muslims, Islam, etc, without an attempt at organizing our thinking about this war and perhaps even help those that are leading it on our side to better understand exactly who the enemy is so we can confront and defeat it.

Militant Islam is waging a global war to dominate the world. That most people agree on. But who is the face of militant Islam? Is every Muslim out to kill or subjugate non-Muslims? Or do they just want to practice their religion in peace as the claim. If we are not at war with over billion Muslims worldwide, then who is the enemy?

Here’s what I feel should be the semantic tools we should use in understanding who that enemy is and thus be able to identify them and mount a proper defense and offense. I’ll use a recent ideological battle we have waged as an example because our enemy, like every enemy before, also wants to advance an ideology.

The recent example is Communism. Like any ‘ism’, it’s and ideology. But the our enemy in the Cold War were not the Poles or the Hungarians or the Albanians or the Bulgarians or the Ukrainians or any other country or peoples who were part of the Eastern Communist Block. Not even the Russian people. The Cole War was a struggle against Communism.

It’s the same for militant Islam, defined as an ideology of advancing the beliefs and doctrines of Islam and establishing them throughout the world. We are not at war with Muslims but with an ideology held by some Muslims. That ideology is Islamism. Those that believe in Islamism and seek to advance its agenda are called Islamists. Islamists come in two flavors – the violent kind (terrorists and jihadists) and the non-violent kind who seek to advance their agenda through the lawful means of intimidation, infiltration, and disinformation.

If we are to fight and win this war that was thrust upon us, we need to identify that enemy and its comprehensive strategy that go far beyond that of terrorism. We need to come to agreement of the semantics of this war so that we can act as one voice with a comprehensive understanding of what we are confronting and have plans on how to confront it when appears.

I’d like to hear other thought on t is matter and maybe some kind of semantic guide that we can use in opposition to the instructional guides that the EU, UN and western nations are using to try and ‘understand’ what they are confronting and how to confront it.

A Sobering Observation

S. Prasadh writes about the inability of Muslims to assimilate in India. He has a sobering observation:

Muslims appear to consider patriotism as Najis. Recently Indian Muslims issued a fatwa against the national song of India. A simple event that underlines that even after a millennia in India, the Indian Muslims are Muslims first and perhaps Indians second. This may provide an inkling how long the Westerners may have to wait before the Muslims will assimilate or integrate.

Apocalyptic signals from Iran worry U.S. intelligence

The U.S. intelligence community has not been surprised by Iran's refusal to respond to a Western incentive package to suspend its uranium enrichment. Intelligence sources said Iran, following North Korea's model, intends to delay any response or negotiations for as long as possible.
The European Union and the United States demanded that Iran reply to the Western incentive package of nuclear technology, fuel and aircraft by June 29. But Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said Teheran would submit an answer by Aug. 22.
eyes_of_iran2.jpg

The U.S. intelligence community has been trying to figure out why Ahmadinejad chose that date. Sources said the community was stumped until some Islam experts translated the Gregorian date to that of the Muslim calendar.

Then came the surprise that has the intelligence community worried.

Aug. 22 corresponds to Rajab 27 on the Muslim calendar. The date is called Lailat Al Israa, when Mohammed ascended to heaven from the Al Aqsa mosque to receive the five daily prayers. Later, Al Aqsa came to represent Jerusalem.

An Immodest Proposal: Steal Their Women

I believe that in war, if you watch your enemy's behavior with discerning, he will tell you how to beat him. That which most frightens your enemy is buried at the heart of that which gets him the most angry. That which most frightens him is his Achilles Heel. If you can discover what it is that most frightens your opponent, then you know how to beat him.

One of the greatest things about our Islamofascist enemies is they are simply incapable of shutting their mouths. They talk and talk and talk and talk, and in talking they tell us everything we need to know.

So, what is it that gets our cute little Islamofascist enemies the most angry? What makes them burn with a white-hot rage? What is it that will set them into a worldwide temper tantrum of rioting and murder?

Humiliation.

It has been noted that the Islamic world is an Honor/Shame culture. If they are not being honored, they feel they are being shamed. The egos of Islamofascists are particularly fragile. And, of course, insulting their prophet and humiliating Allah does get them very angry.

But really, all that serves to do is expose them. When we draw cartoons of Mohammed with a bomb in his turban, yes, then the Islamofascists fly into a tantrum and reveal themselves for the childish morons that they are. But, in the practical world, it does little to help us win the war, other than to make more Westerners aware of how unreasonable they really are.

So, we need to understand how to truly humiliate our enemy. What humiliation is so utterly horrible to those darling little Islamofascists that the very thought will render them a quivering gelatinous mass in a puddle of its own urine and feces?

The Islamofascist mental universe is basically the world of the pre-game football locker room metality writ large. If one wants to understand what will anger and, ultimately, humiliate the Islamofascists, one need only think of what would start a fight in a locker room. What gets testosterone-charged men really angry and/or humiliated?

1) Being called a fag, or having one's manhood called into question.
2) Having one's mother insulted.
3) Having one's girlfriend insulted, violated, or stolen.

Sure, we could sit around and play the dozens with the Islamofascists from here to eternity, and believe me it would be a riot, but the truth is, the real insult to their manhood has to be performed on the battlefield. That's where we will ultimately demonstrate what a pathetic bunch of pussies they really are.

But, there's something else we can do right now which would drive a stake right through their sad, shriveled hearts; Steal Their Women.

"Steal their women?!?" you say. Pastorius, are you crazy? What are we, a barbarian culture, reducing women to chattel and servitude? Are we to act in ways which would make us no better than the Islamofascists?

No, we are better than that, and that's exactly why we can steal their women, and their women will actually be happy about it.

Here's my idea:

We put out an announcement across Iraq and Afghanistan that any woman who wants to escape from the slavery of the burqa and Sharia need only present herself to an American official (soldier, or member of the government) and request asylum. She will be whisked away from her former life and brought to America, where she will receive a free education, free housing, and an opportunity at life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

She will not be allowed to bring her husband, son, or father, or any male family member. This is an opportunity which is only open to those women whose servitude is so painful that they are willing to completely sever ties with their old selves, or should I say, lack of selves.

I call this "An Immodest Proposal" because I want to be clear that I am serious as hell, and that this idea is not proposed in the tradition of Jonathan Swift's satire. I believe this idea is not only a strategically sound way to beat our enemy, but also a just and compassionate way to help the women of the Islamic world who are locked up in the ideological slavery of Sharia.

This idea, if implemented successfully will shatter the fragile egos of the Islamofascists precisely because it goes to the heart of male identity. Men, more than anything, want to believe they can take care of their women. If they find that they are unable to, they feel they have been judged to be useless and impotent human beings. A man who believes himself to be useless and impotent is a defeated warrior.

The booty of American military conquest is more free, productive and happy people. Let's keep in that tradition and free the slaves of the Middle East.

From the French Eurabian front

Galliawatch reports on something that has hardly been reported (if at all) and by rights should be the centre of a national scandal and international contemplation: With the victories of the French national football team as a pretext, those famous french 'youths' made a big nuisance of themselves all over France.
"At the end of the game, there was like an explosion. Fights broke out immediately at the Bastille, at Nation, at République, and at Bercy. The police told us about the riots, the firemen brought us victims, three or four at a time. 'We try to get them as quickly as possible, so that they aren't attacked again while waiting for help to arrive,' said a fire captain. One policeman said he could no longer control anything in the corridor between Place de la République and Place de la Bastille. There weren't enough men. Around 2:00 a.m. we began to see wounds from knives, scissors, paper-cutters, screwdrivers...

"We had never seen so much happen in one night. Their faces painted in red, white and blue, the victims were stripped of their belongings. A father was brutalized in front of his children by a gang: 'I had wanted to show them the celebration. They love the French team.' The festivities became a gigantic confrontation, any pretext was used to attack someone. We even had one person wounded by a blow with an axe! Another person cried out 'Vive la France!' and was beaten up and forced to shout out the name of another country. In the eyes of the victims, this violence changed from red, white and blue to red and black.
There's much more to read. Head on over.

A Respectful Bow To A Real Moderate Muslim Group

I have added the Institute for the Secularization of Islamic Society to our blogroll. You can read their Mission Statement here. And, while that is impressive, it is their position on women which really wins me over. Here is an excerpt from a position paper, which appears on their website, called Islam And Women's Rights:

As many Western and Eastern apologists for Islam repeatedly tell us that what is happening to women in the so -called Islamic countries is not according to real Islam, and that real Islam is egalitarian, I mainly refer to the Koran. Laws about women are the most cruel, inhumane and cunning aspects of the Koran and Islamic Shari'a.

The rigid laws of Islam have deprived half of the population of their basic human rights. The male is in charge of the female: Koran 4:34, and the subjugated half is led to believe, through Islamic teachings, that the supremacy of the man is the will of Allah, and it has been predestined for women to live as submissive, obedient wives.

They are forced to accept that women are inferior to men, that their testimony is equal to only half that of the man, that they should inherit one - half of the male share, that Allah doesn't want to see any women unveiled, that she may not conserve with men except her father, or her brother.

The proper job and position for women is taking care of home, children and to be a housewife. The majority of Muslim women are brought up with theconviction that it is Allah's command for them to be under male dominance and their fates are interwoven with that of men.

In the Koran there are four so called neutral verses where women are considered equal to men (at least not demeaning towards women); to which apologists for Islam refer us repeatedly. Here are those:

3: 195 "Their Lord responded to the: "I never fail to reward any worker among you for any work you do, be you male or female, you are equal to one another¦."

4: 124 "As for those who lead a righteous life, male or female. While believing, they enter paradise; without the slightest injustice"

16: 97 "Anyone who works righteousness, male or female, while believing, we will surely grant them a happy life in this world, and we will surely pay them their full recompense for their righteous works."

40: 40 "Whoever commits a sin is required for just that, and whoever works righteousness - male or female - while believing, these will enter paradise wherein they receive provision without any limits."

In opposition to above four so-called neutral verses, there are hundreds of versed that deliberately defame and dehumanise women:

An-Nisa 4: 34 "As to those women On whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill -conduct, admonish them (first), (next) refuse to share beds, (and Last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance): For God is Most High, Great (above you all)"

Al - Baqara 2: 223 "Your women are a tilt for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilt as ye will, and send (good deeds) before you for your souls, and fear Allah, and know that ye will (one day) meet Him. Give glad tidings to believers, (o Mohammad)"

Al - Baqara 2: 222 "They questioned thee (O Mohammad) concerning menstruation, Say it is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not unto them till they are cleansed."

(...)

Veiling (hijab)

One of the most misogynist Islamic laws with respect to women is the requirement for complete veiling (hijab) in accordance with koranic tenets. The wearing of the veil was instituted by Mohammad in the early days of Islam. Within about one hundred years of his death, the institution of veiling and seclusion had been spread all over the Middle East. One and a half centuries after his death, the system was fully established.

The effect of all kinds of veils is the same, the woman is rendered anonymous, a non -person ...

Why is Islam so obsessed with keeping men and women part? Why have Islam gone to such great lengths to maintain control over women?

The main reason for hijab is the need for controlling women's sexuality. Veiling internalises the Islamic notion in women that they belong to an inferior sex, and that they are sex objects. It teaches them to limit their physical movements and their free behaviour. Veiling is a powerful tool to institutionalise women's segregation and to implement a system of sexual apartheid.

Go read the whole thing.

This is exactly the kind of Moderate Muslim organization that is needed for a true reformation of Islam.

7 July 2005, London ... why?

A year ago today Islam struck London. Devout jihadist Muslims motivated by their religious beliefs killed 52 member of civilization going about their daily lives in peace. This event is still not understood. There is speculation that Al Qaeda was involved as if this explains something important. It does not

Myth #1: It’s all about bin Laden. This was initially the view given by the administration after 9/11 and still held by Bush’s critics. It’s not Islam, we are told, but an evil extremist. But the only thing that bin Laden did was form an umbrella group that combined existing independents under one roof and finance them with his trust fund. Even Kalid Sheik Mohammad was in operation before going to bin Laden for support. Thus, 9/11 would have still happened even without bin Laden. So called “free radicals” came before Al Qaeda. It was Islam that motivated them. Bin Laden remains, first and foremost, an important symbol.

Myth #2: The extremists are shunned by the vast majority. The London bombings still are widely respected among British Muslims even if not a majority. However, bin Laden is still one of the most respected Muslims in the Islamic world, often by the majority of some Islamic nations. (Near bottom of the Pew Center report.)

Myth #3: It’s a reaction to our “aggressive” policies. The Islamic Revival is driven by internal forces to Muslim societies. It has been unfolding for more than 50 years and will continue despite our efforts. We see attacks on non-Muslims in India, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Russia, Israel, Turkey, Nigeria, the Balkans, Chechnya, … indeed, wherever Muslims are found. It is perceived weakness, not aggression, that emboldens the jihadist. China has the least problem with their Muslims.

Myth #4: This is new to Islam. History shows otherwise.

Rorke's Drift, Afghanistan, Carry On !

Eight British soldiers battle with 1,200 Taleban at 'Camp Incoming'

rorkes_drift.jpg
Our correspondent joins the training squad who are under fire daily at their outpost

The view from the tiny British outpost above the town of Tangye in northern Helmand province was picture perfect.

A river snaked its way through a gorge, the sun shimmered off the water and beyond the town of mud-brick houses lay the blue waters of the Kajaki reservoir.

But the illusion of calm was shattered by gunfire at 9.00am yesterday. “It’s a bit early for playtime,” quipped Sergeant-Major Karl Brennan, 35, a barrel-chested Yorkshireman, as he and his seven collegues rushed to the perimeter wall.

Through their gunsights they could see Taleban fighters attacking the last town in the district still loyal to the Kabul Goverment — a town whose nearby hydro-electric dam provides most of southern Afghanistan’s power.

One group of Taleban fighters was battling pro-government militiamen on the edge of Tangye. A second group, hidden behind a rocky outcrop, was using mortars and machineguns to attack an Afghan police compound on a hill overlooking our own position. The police were retaliating with an old Russian anti-tank gun.

“If we lose that hill we are in big trouble,” said Captain Chris Woodward, 28. “They would have a direct view on our camp.”

One Year Ago

Today is the one-year anniversay of the London Bombings. Despite evidence to the contrary, many government officials and some terrorism experts have indicated that the attacks on London were not the work of Al Qaeda.

In "Al-Qaeda, Still in Business," a commentary in the July 2, 2006 edition of the Washington Post, Peter Bergen presents a different analysis....

In the long run, it doesn't much matter if what the 7/7 terrorists did to London a year ago was specifically the work of Al Qaeda, although Mr. Bergen makes the case for those attacks having been the proxy work of Bin Laden. "Free radicals" plot and act upon the same ideology. Furthermore, the hordes of "moderate" Muslims have not rushed forward to "take back" their faith. Why is that?

IDF reenters Gaza

Here's the rundown on what's been going on so far:

The army retakes the remains of three abandoned Jewish villages in northern Gaza:
Israeli forces on Thursday took over the remains of three abandoned Jewish settlements in northern Gaza and clashed with gunmen on the outskirts of a Palestinian town, carving out a temporary buffer zone to prevent Palestinian militants from firing rockets at Israeli towns and cities.

The move marked an expansion of Israel's largest operation in Gaza since Israel's withdrawal from the coastal territory nearly a year ago. At least six Palestinians were killed in fighting Thursday.

Officials decided to step up the offensive, launched last week in response to the capture of an Israeli soldier, after Palestinian militants from the ruling Hamas party fired two upgraded rockets into the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon. No one was hurt, but the rockets were the first to reach the city of 110,000, infuriating Israeli leaders.
There was also an airstrike:
An Israeli aircraft attacked a group of Palestinian militants in southern Gaza on Thursday, killing two people and wounding several others, witnesses said.

The army confirmed it had carried out an airstrike in Khan Younis after Israeli forces were attacked with seven anti-tank missiles and a rocket.

Palestinian hospital officials said two people were killed. Islamic Jihad said one of the dead belonged to the militant group.

An AP photographer said civilians appeared to be among the wounded, but there was no immediate confirmation from hospital officials.

Militants gathered around the area after the airstrike, taking up positions with grenade launchers.
Let us be clear here. Just like the US army doesn't concern itself in wartime with civilian casualties, neither should Israel's army. And if any of those "civilians" are among the Islamofascists who support the PLO/Hamas, I can't say I'm sorry for any of them.

Former IDF chief of staff Moshe Yaalon says that Ariel Sharon's "disengagement" from Gaza was the disaster it is, and was designed to save him from legal problems:
Lt.-Gen. (ret.) Moshe Yaalon, IDF Chief of Staff until the implementation of the Gaza withdrawal, says that the entire Disengagement was conceived to save PM Sharon from legal troubles.

“The Disengagement was not the result of thorough strategic analysis, but the result of [then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s] political distress," Yaalon said in an interview to be published in full in Haaretz this weekend. “It was a disengagement from reality and a disengagement from the truth."

Though such a claim has been made in the past, including by two prominent journalists Ofer Shelah and Raviv Drucker in their book Boomerang, this is the first time an official who was privy to the Sharon regime from the inside has cited such motives.

"The process created an illusionary hope," Yaalon said, "which was not planned strategically and practically. The Disengagement was mainly a media spin. Those who initiated it and lead it lacked the strategic, security, political and historical background. They were image counselors and spin doctors. These people put Israel into a virtual spin, disconnected from reality, using a media spin campaign which is imploding before our eyes."

"There is no doubt that the Disengagement failed,” Yaalon said. The entire withdrawal and expulsion of 10,000 Jewish residents from Gaza and northern Samaria “was an internal Israeli game that ignored what's going on outside Israel.”

The former Chief of Staff does not accept the argument that because polls have shown a broad section of the Israeli public wanted to leave Gaza, it was the right thing to do. "The Israeli public backed the Disengagement because it was blinded and drugged and because it really wanted to free itself from the burden of the conflict and divide the land. But we have to understand that although we are trying to shake the Palestinians off our backs, they refuse to get off our backs and stab us instead. We shouldn't fool ourselves. We live in the Middle East. We cannot barricade ourselves behind walls and fences. There is no such thing as unilateralism. Even when we refuse to talk with our neighbors there is interaction with them.”
Similar problems are present today in Europe, where you have Islamofascists who're interested in nothing more than living as parasites, under the favoratism of corrupt government officials who give them all the welfare checks they can get.

Church of England to Ban St. George

As I have already noted, St. George is now Politically Incorrect in England. The C of E should go the whole nine yards and declare themselves Moslems, anything less would be insensitive and might hurt the inner child feelings of the Religion of Narcissism:

But the Church of England is considering rejecting England's patron saint St George on the grounds that his image is too warlike and may offend Muslims.

The scheme, to be considered by the Church's parliament, the General Synod, has met a cautious but sympathetic response from senior bishops.

If St Alban replaced St George, the red cross on a white background would have to be replaced as England's flag by Alban's symbol, a diagonal yellow cross on a blue background that bears a strong similarity to St Andrew's cross, the flag of Scotland.

The proposal has been put forward by the Rev Philip Chester, vicar of St Matthew's, Westminster, who has called the use of St George as patron saint 'dotty'.

George has become unfashionable among politicians and bureaucrats. His saint's day, April 23, has no official celebration in England, and councils have banned the St George flag from their buildings and vehicles during the World Cup.

In the article there is no mention of who these cowards are trying to appease, as if that were necessary. How long before the people of the West realize that their "leaders" and "elites" are determined to sell out their civilization to the barbarians?

Storm Track Infiltration: I Pledge Allegiance to the Ummah

From The Gathering Storm

I’ve written several times how true Muslims owe their allegiance not to the nation they live in but to the nation of Islam – the ummah.

But our political leadership just can’t seem to understand that and when a terrorist plot enfolds, they scratch their knobby little heads and wonder why such nice young boys – and girls – should want to blow up their fellow citizens and neighbors. And when they do the apologist and appeasers come out of the woodwork and state that it has nothing to do with Islam.

Even a quote from an average Muslim in Britain can not wake the free world from its self-induced slumber.

From the Guardian. Another example of a Muslim owing allegiance to the ummah and not his country. This one – disgusting.

“The family of the first British Muslim soldier to be killed in the "war on terror" were forced to hit back yesterday against extremist claims that he was a "home-grown terrorist". Within hours of news of the death of Lance Corporal Jabron Hashmi, 24, in the Helmand province of Afghanistan, a website run by the extremist group al-Ghurabaa posted a picture of the young soldier surrounded by flames. The group condemned L/Cpl Hashmi, who was in the Intelligence Corps, as a home-grown terrorist for serving with the British army in Afghanistan, adding: "Unlike members of al-Qaida, he took a salary for his terror."

Then this from a Muslim in Britain which shows the real root of the problem with Muslims and Islam.

"I don't see how any Muslim can be in the British army, not with all the shit that's happening in Muslim countries. It doesn't make sense. It's not right. There's no space for Muslims in the army," said a 25-year-old who would only give his name as Saleem. "Of course it's a tragedy and I feel for them [his family]. But what was he doing over there? He was an Asian dude fighting a white man's war. Basically, we can't be like the goreh [white people] and they can't be like us."

But maybe, just maybe the infidels are starting to get a clue.

“Tony Blair vented his frustration at Britain's Muslim community yesterday, saying its leaders had to do more to attack not just the extremists' methods, but their false sense of grievance about the west. He told the Commons liaison committee that too many Muslim leaders gave the impression that they understood and sympathised with the grievances, an attitude that ensured the extremists would never be defeated. Mr Blair insisted government alone could not root out extremism. He was responding to criticisms, some from some Muslim Labour MPs, that the government's drive to integrate the Muslim community after the July 7 bombings last year was dissipating into a public relations exercise.

Well, I have a suggestion for the ‘integration’ of Muslim into British society – teach them that they are British first, and Muslims second and that they owe their allegiance to England and not the ummah. And this should be taught first in the mosques.

But that would be apostasy and never be accepted by the inmans and clerics whose objective is to turn England and the free world into worldwide Islamic state headed by their beloved Caliphate.

Analysis of the Dutch Governmental Collapse from Snouck

For those of you wondering what exactly has been going on with the collapse of the government in The Netherlands, I rather like and recommend this post by fellow Dutch blogger Snouck. This is a beautifully written, concise, and rather humorous account of the matter:

"Okay. All you watchers of the news in The Netherlands must have noticed that the government has fallen.

So what happened?

1. Leftist Nova television program broadcast a special on Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the religion basher from Somalia. Ayaan had been lying in order to obtain asylum status. Just as an estimated 95 percent of the asylum seekers.
2. Iron Rita Verdonk revoked the citizenship of Ayaan Hirsi Ali. In 24 hours. This implied that Dutch parliament had a non-dutch national in its midst, which made void all its deliberations in the past 3 years. Totally radical, dude!
3. The political class went ape. The "Left" demanded the resignation of Iron Rita and the "Right", the government, frantically tried to find a way to get out of crossfire.

4. The government consists of 3 parties. Liberal-Conservatives (VVD), Christian Democrats (CDA) and the Democrats '66 (D66). This last party is both left and right and is in fact the rudiments of a party based on a personality, who has left the national political scene due to age, drink and general fatness.
5. D66 just had seen a leadership battle between someone who won (otherwise unimportant so I won't distract you with his name) and Lousewies van der Laan, daughter of a Dutch career diplomat. Lousewies is a VERY ambitious member of the international political class. She lost the struggle for leadership of her party and was already making plans to go back to Brussels to interfere in peoples lifes from the lofty heights of the European Parliament. She was full of spite and the spirit of revenge. Hell hath no etcetera etcetera etcetera.
6. Verdonk had just lost the leadership battle of the Liberal-Conservative VVD against Mark Rutte. She was breathing fire. As usual, only more so.

7. The economy is picking up in a big way in The Netherlands after a very bad crash in 2000. This is good news for the rightwing coalition. They now would enter the time to harvest. They want to stay in power.

8. In order to cover her behind Verdonk demanded Aayaan to eat humble pie and sign a statement to the effect that Verdonk never did anything wrong when she declared Ayaan not a Dutch citizen. The statement said also that Ayaan had not lied about the name she gave to the Dutch authorities, as had been alleged, because according to Somali Family Code Ayaan was entitled to carry that name. That is so rich."

The Erasure of Harry Truman and FDR

I have gone on many times about the descent of the Democratic party from one of national dominance for having both stood up for the 'common' working man, and stood up unblanchingly for american interest in the world.
link.lieberman-731423.jpg

This is not a clean business on either side. FDR both saved the nation in 1932 and held Somoza's hand as "our SOB", as well as Stalin's when necessity commanded. He also attempted to change by fiat and statute the Supreme Court from 9-13 justices.

Harry Truman killed segregation in the armed forces, saved millions by unflinchingly using nuclear weapons, and then chose the wrong side in Southeast Asia, and tried to nationalize the steel industry in the midst of both a strike and the Korean War.

No president is perfect. Just imagine if the present occupant of 1600 Pa. Ave had attempted these actions.
fdr.jpg
Yet these men are certainly among the greatest presidents, and greatest democrats in history.
ALL OF HISTORY.

Today the democratic party is trying to extinghuish the last of it's men who fall into that category of democrat. They have been dwindling. From Hubert Humphrey through today.....

For Our New Readers

For those visiting this site for the first time, I’d recommend background reading to understand what we are talking about and why. A good place to start is the recently published best-seller Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam by Robert Spencer. (Also consider IBA’s resident author: Mark Alexander.) I list other books here.

Articles can barely do justice to the topic and counter the vast misinformation already disseminated by political hacks. But they might suggest that there is another side of the story missed by the Mainstream Media and partisan academic pseudo-scholars. I ask my fellow bloggers to suggest their favorite single intro in the comments section. My own very brief summary with hyperlinks.

For daily news and commentary Jihad Watch is the gold standard. For a great Internet round-up see Islamic Evil, which reminds me … why the double standard in today’s discourse?

Of course, check out the individual websites listed on the right. Each contributor has a unique emphasis and we don’t always agree. As always we know learning about a foreign culture, people, and religion requires a considerable amount of thought over a long period. We challenge you to go beyond the superficial clichés in the popular media.

Muslim Intellectual Calls for 'Protestant Islam'

From MEMRI:

Dr. Bassam Tahhan, a Syrian-born French professor of Arabic literature, teaches at the prestigious Henri IV secondary school in Paris and is an expert on the Koran. In his numerous lectures and interviews, he advocates "Protestant Islam," which he defines as Islam that allows freedom of thought and permits questioning the Sunna, abrogating hadiths not grounded in the Koran, and reinterpreting the Koran in light of modern values. Tahhan recently attended a UNESCO conference on human rights in Morocco, where he gave the following interview to the independent French-language Moroccan daily Telquel: [1]
luther.jpg
"To Be a Rationalist is to Acknowledge That the Orthodox Approach is Fundamentally Wrong"

Telquel: "You characterize yourself as one who interprets the Koran rationally. What do you mean by that?"

Tahhan: "To read the Koran rationally is to accept that the Koran is open [to interpretation] and has many meanings. The tradition regards the Koran as one-dimensional and fixed. This approach is not rationalist. To be a rationalist is to accept that each era, with its [particular] methods and discoveries, presents its own reading of the Koran, and this is the way it will be until the end of days. To be a rationalist is to acknowledge that the orthodox approach is fundamentally wrong since it does not accept the multiplicity of readings."

Telquel: "You are one of a handful of experts around the world on the different versions of the Koran. How did you come to have a passion for this topic?"

Tahhan: "Let me remind you of a historical fact that is accepted by all. In the year 901 - an unfortunate year for Muslims - a Muslim qadi named Ibn Mujahid canonized [one version of] the Koran. Before that, there were many different versions of the Koran, and this did not upset the good Muslims!"

Examining the Different Versions of the Koran Reveals "Its WideRange of Possible Meanings"

Tahhan: "Today, Muslim thought evolves within a very rigid framework, namely the framework of the Shari'a. I, on the other hand, refer to the sacred scriptures. Specifically, I allow myself to draw upon the various [versions of the] 'sacred scriptures,' since there are many of them. This is a fact. In order to see this, one must merely read the chapter Kutub Al-Masahif ('The Books of the Koran') in Ibn Nadim's book Al-Fihrist. Ibn Nadim enumerates several versions of the Koran which were not recognized by the Caliphs. He explicitly refers to mushaf al-rasul (the Prophet's Koran)! Remember that, ever since the Koran was canonized, we have been referring to Mushaf 'Uthman ['Uthman's version of the Koran].

"The German orientalist Theodor Noeldeke wrote several volumes on the history of the various Korans. Today the Arabic translation of his book is being circulated in secret. Jews and Christians readily accept the different versions of their sacred scriptures. Why shouldn't we? When you examine the different versions from different perspectives - sociological, philosophical, juridical and linguistic - you reveal the Koran's wide range of possible meanings. This breathes new life into [the Koran], instead of petrifying it for all time!"

East Lansing - Letter to Ed. "They should know they can embrace Islam, but cannot get out"

Moderate muslims? Sure, but they have be APOSTATES. Otherwise the Quran and Hadiths are a complete conscience substitution set

Via Jihadwattch
Islam or death

I read Le Roy Barnett's letter ("Muslims, speak up," June 26) about Muslims' opinion on Abdul Rahman's conversion to Christianity.

Islam is not only a religion, it is a complete way of life. Islam guides Muslims from birth to grave. The Quran and prophet Muhammad's words and practical application of Quran in life cannot be changed.

apostasy.jpg

Islam is a guide for humanity, for all times, until the day of judgment. It is forbidden in Islam to convert to any other religion. The penalty is death. There is no disagreement about it.

Islam Celebration Starts. Tommorow Anniversary of July Bombings

Check out The IslamExpo blog for more info. The BBC have already kicked off their coverage. Of course they didn't mention that this "Expo" was costing London tax payers £200,000. I'm sure they would have if it was some Christian event, but there you go.

Quite unsurprisingly, a number of terrorist supporters are speaking at the event, including Hamas' envoy, Azzam Tamimi, will be making an appearance.

DETROIT -If morally supporting Hizballah is a crime, "there is not going to be enough buses to haul the people out and take them

THEN GET MORE BUSES

Hizbollah nazi 2.JPG
Probes of links to Hizballah grow
Inside the Dearborn banquet hall, Lebanese Americans gazed at flat-screen televisions that flashed video footage of armed Hizballah fighters battling Israelis in Lebanon.

The mostly Muslim crowd was there to celebrate Lebanon Liberation Day, the sixth anniversary of the Israeli army's departure from southern Lebanon on May 25, 2000. To those inside the hall, Hizballah is a heroic group responsible for ending Israel's occupation of the towns where they grew up.

But to the U.S. government, Hizballah is an Iranian-backed terrorist organization that has killed more Americans than any militant group besides Al Qaeda.

The clashing views of Muslims and U.S. authorities over Hizballah are playing out in southeastern Michigan as federal investigators increasingly target local residents purported to have ties to the group.

Prosecutors have tried to link at least 29 metro Detroit men with Hizballah over the past three years, according to a review of court records and interviews with attorneys. About half the men were accused of the links in criminal cases over the past three months, including the owner of the La Shish restaurants, Talal Chahine.

The FBI in Detroit says Hizballah has a presence in Michigan, and the bureau has set up a division to investigate the Shi'ite Muslim group. In recent cases, federal agents are looking at ties to Sheikh Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah, a Shi'ite Muslim cleric in Lebanon who the U.S. government says is a Hizballah leader. The FBI in Detroit also has divisions that investigate Hamas and Al Qaeda, but those terrorist groups are not cited as often as Hizballah in local cases.

Winds of War: The Battle Over the Mind

From The Gathering Storm

Here’s some disturbing news that only supports my contention that this war between two civilizations – the free world and Islam – is not over territory as such, but over men’s minds. In a recent article in the UK Telegraph, the reporter writes that significant numbers of white Britons have been lured into Islamic terrorism, according to a Whitehall report.

“Details of the document, which have emerged in the week before the first anniversary of the July 7 London Tube bombings, also reveal that white converts and other British Muslims are joining a "terrorist career path" after being targeted by radicalist recruiters at universities or by extremist preachers. The report follows calls made by al-Qaeda in April last year for white converts to become suicide bombers because it was easier for them to travel and evade detection before carrying out their attacks.”

The lure of the Islamist agenda attracts not only middle-eastern and Asian converts but has reached into the minds of the white western culture as well. This struggle between a 21st century modern mindset and a 13th century ideology has little to do with what is called the battle over the ‘soul of Islam’. There is a more devious Islamist agenda afoot which this blog tries to expose every day. That is the intimidation, infiltration and disinformation tactics being used surreptitiously and not so surreptitiously against us and seeks to install the Islamist agenda throughout the world.

Daniel Pipes calls it the threat of ‘lawful Islam’.

“Terrorism is one method to advance these projects but it is not the only one. Indeed, the activities of nonviolent Islamists arguably will prove a more effective tactic in the long term. For while the public intuitively understands the threat of terrorism and is mobilized by it, and while states have well-developed institutions (law enforcement, intelligence agencies, the military, the justice system) to protect and fight against it, the activities of nonviolent extremists are not alarming and institutions do not exist to deal with this problem.”

You can view a sample list of these lawful Islamist tactics at his Islamic Watch website. So what do we do about it? The Truth Project blog has some suggestions.

1. Print business cards which contain a web link or two. Leave those cards in public places, such as bus stops, restaurants, malls, grocery stores, etc. (See sample business card below)

2. Contact your public library system. Donate books which tell the unvarnished truth about Islam. Donations are tax deductible!

3. Contact your alma mater to see if you can place books in the institution's library. If you are a member of an alumni association, you might already have an "in" to place materials.

4. Contact private schools in your area to see about the feasibility of placing materials.

5. Review the social studies textbooks used in your school district. If you find errors about Islam in those books, contact the curriculum specialist in your school district, and, using reference materials which tell the truth, specify the errors.

6. Check with your school district to see if textbook changes are in the works. If so, as a resident of that district, you have the right to review the textbooks. Contact the curriculum specialist if you find the books are whitewashing Islam.

7. If you are affiliated with a church, be on the alert for whitewash of Islam. Speak up if your spiritual leader is uneducated as to the truth about Islam.

8. Contact your political representatives and disabuse them of the politically-correct whitewash of Islam. Keep contacting your political representatives.

Above all, don't keep quiet about what you've learned!

Sample Business Card

Don't believe the whitewash of Islam.

Find the truth @

[List a few websites and/or book titles of your own choosing]

Good suggestions. Do them. So far, we’ve been preaching to the choir. Ask you friends about what they know of Islam and you will be troubled by their answers. They are ignorant of what Islam is and has become. We cannot win the struggle against the Islamist until the average Joe gets off the tit of the MSM and opens their eyes to the ‘lawful threat’ and not just the violent threat of terrorism.

The Pope Takes on Islam

The new Pope has been bold, fearless in taking on the wave of Islamism devouring Europe. Atlas readers know I am an enormous admirer and have been since he ascended to the head of the Roman Church. His minions have picked up the baton and are standing up and taking it on . Daniel Pipes has a very good piece detailing

THE VATICAN CONFRONTS ISLAM

"Enough now with this turning the other cheek! It's our duty to protect ourselves." Thus spoke Monsignor Velasio De Paolis, secretary of the Vatican's supreme court, referring to Muslims. Explaining his apparent rejection of Jesus' admonition to his followers to "turn the other cheek," De Paolis noted that "The West has had relations with the Arab countries for half a century … and has not been ablePopebenedict_xvi_1 to get the slightest concession on human rights."

De Paolis is hardly alone in his thinking; indeed, the Catholic Church is undergoing a dramatic shift from a decades-old policy to protect Catholics living under Muslim rule. The old methods of quiet diplomacy and muted appeasement have clearly failed. The estimated 40 million Christians in Dar al-Islam, notes the Barnabas Fund's Patrick Sookhdeo, increasingly find themselves an embattled minority facing economic decline, dwindling rights, and physical jeopardy. Most of them, he goes on, are despised and distrusted second-class citizens, facing discrimination in education, jobs, and the courts.

These harsh circumstances are causing Christians to flee their ancestral lands for the West's more hospitable environment. Consequently, Christian populations of the Muslim world are in a free-fall. Two small but evocative instances of this pattern: for the first time in nearly two millennia, Nazareth and Bethlehem no longer have Christian majorities.

This reality of oppression and decline stands in dramatic contrast to the surging Muslim minority of the West. Although numbering fewer than 20 million and made up mostly of immigrants and their offspring, it is an increasingly established and vocal minority, granted extensive rights and protections even as it wins new legal, cultural, and political prerogatives.

This widening disparity has caught the attention of the Church, which for the first time is pointing to radical Islam, rather than the actions of Israel, as the central problem facing Christians living with Muslims.

Rumblings of this could be heard already in John Paul II's time. For example, Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, the Vatican equivalent of foreign minister, noted in late 2003 that "There are too many majority Muslim countries where non-Muslims are second-class citizens." Tauran pushed for reciprocity: "Just as Muslims can build their houses of prayer anywhere in the world, the faithful of other religions should be able to do so as well."

Catholic demands for reciprocity have grown, especially since the accession of Pope Benedict XVI in April 2005, for whom Islam is a central concern. In February, the pope emphasized the need to respect "the convictions and religious practices of others so that, in a reciprocal manner, the exercise of freely-chosen religion is truly assured to all." In May, he again stressed the need for reciprocity: Christians must love immigrants and Muslims must treat well the Christians among them.

Read it all. It has only just begun.

Yes and after the Kelo decision, I became a violent radical - right !

Inayat Bunglawala, spokesman for the Muslim Council of Britain, said many Muslims believed the UK's involvement in wars against Afghanistan and Iraq were a "key contributory factor in the radicalisation" of some young Muslims.

What a pathetic excuse !

"My view did not prevail therefore I am entitled to violent and subversive and murderous recourse."

"And it's excusable because I believe in the Quran????"

Did anyone actually teach social studies over there?

The government cannot alone root out extremism in Muslim communities and defeat the terrorism it creates, Prime Minister Tony Blair has said.

He hit back at claims ministers had done little to win Muslim "hearts and minds" since the 7 July London bombs.

He said he was "probably not the person to go into the Muslim community".

But the former Home Secretary, David Blunkett, told the BBC the government is "very poor" at following through on its "excellent" initiatives.

A government may come up with ideas, and even laws, but just as in the american civil rights movement of the 60's, raising consciousness of wrongess is UP TO THE PEOPLE. It took americans working with other americans going into areas where voter registration was denied via intimidation to begin to break evil, and expose the KKK to the national sunlight.

Finsbury Park Mosque Gets Extreme Makeover

Yes, they're getting a makeover at the Finsbury Park Mosque, and it is still extreme. But, the media is trying to sell it as a moderation. Watch the taqiyya (that's an Arab word, meaning lies and obfuscation in the service of Jihad) fly:

LONDON — The Finsbury Park mosque, where the one-eyed, hook-handed militant cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri once delivered his fiery sermons and helped turn a religious facility into the target for dozens of international terrorism investigations, is going through a makeover.

During his time at the helm, Hamza, now sitting in a British prison and awaiting possible U.S. extradition, allowed the mosque to become a haven of radical Islam in Europe — a “suicide factory” as one book has called it — which hosted such figures as Zacarias Moussaoui, Richard Reid and, reportedly, three of the four London bombers.

Now, far from being allegedly al-Qaida-linked ...

Pastorius question: Who said they are "far from being al-Qaeda linked? Note that within this article, no Muslim explicitly says that anything has fundamentally changed about the philosophy behing the Mosque.

... the mosque is quietly repairing its reputation from that of a hotbed of radicalism to one of a more moderate institution — albeit a mosque run by a group linked to the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood and with an alleged former Hamas commander as a co-trustee.

“This mosque was a national problem, not just a local problem. (In fact) it was an international problem — it wasn’t even a national problem,” said Abdirahman Warsame, the new executive manager of the mosque, now officially named the North Central London Mosque. “Still we are struggling to change the image of the mosque since the extremist group, the Abu Hamza group, was here.”

The Muslim Association of Britain, which is linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, used legal means to gain control of the mosque in 2005 after years of struggle.

Ok so click here to see a list of articles about the outright radicalism of the Muslim Brotherhood.

“While Abu Hamza was there, it became very much a focal point for radical Islamist activity in Britain,” said Sean O’Neill, who along with a fellow reporter for The Times of London, Daniel McGrory, co-wrote, “The Suicide Factory: Abu Hamza and the Finsbury Park Mosque,” which was published this spring.

“There were plots and links to activities stretching to, I think, 26 countries,” O’Neill added.

The new leadership has been working closely with the local community to turn this mosque into a moderate place of worship, with a program of community and social outreach.

“We are here to engage with the young people who have already been — some of them — maybe politicized by the previous group or who have extremist views,” said Warsame, a tall, soft-spoken Somali who was chosen by the Muslim Association of Britain to manage the mosque.

Note that Warsame says he is there to engage with the young people who have extremist views. He does not say he is there to help change those young people.

Last week, the same association launched a mosques' watchdog intended to tackle extremism by monitoring imams and the content of their sermons.

“Instead of young Muslims seeking guidance outside of the mosque, we need to train spiritual leaders to preach the right religion in our mosques,” Ahmad Sheikh, president of the Muslim Association of Britain and one of five co-trustees of the Finsbury park mosque, said.

These young people were not seeking guidance outside the Mosque. They were getting their extremist views from the Mosque itself.

In Finsbury Park, Warsame brings in different preachers each week to deliver the main Friday sermon — a sharp contrast to the days of Abu Hamza’s absolute control of the mosque.

“We don’t want — how should I say it? — a ‘star imam’ like Abu Hamza. So, they don’t keep a high-profile,” he said.

They don't want a preacher who keeps a "high-profile" because they don't want people to know what is going on in this Mosque.

Still, Warsame echoes common complaints of the British Muslim community that the government is not attentive to its needs.

“The mosque was a national crisis when Abu Hamza was here. Now when Abu Hamza has gone off, and the government sees there is no problem, they just say, ‘Goodbye’.”

Both Sheikh and Warsame pointed out that British Muslims overwhelmingly oppose Prime Minister Tony Blair's foreign policy — notably in relation to Iraq and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict — and suggested the government should be willing to shoulder some of the blame for the radicalization of Muslim youth.

“We want the government to have a public inquiry as to the real cause of the radicalism among British Muslim youth. Where is it coming from? If it is the mosque, we can do our part. If it is the foreign policy, the government has to do its bit,” Sheikh said.

And that, of course, means they want to dictate an Arabist foreign policy to the federal government of the United Kingdom.

The audacity of that statement is astounding. Imagine that your church had become not just a national, but an international problem, extending its poison into 26 countries around the world. Imagine that you try to fix the problem and bring in new preachers, and implement programs to repair the damaged psyches of the young people in your church.

Ok, so now you are imagining that, right?

Now, imagine that all in the same breath your new Pastor demands that the United States fundamentally change its foreign policy to fit the needs of your troubled church.Imagine that.

Imagine that the New York Times publishes an article selling your churhces bullshit. Imagine that.

Well, I guess that's not too hard to imagine, is it?

What a world we live in.

It happened at Jesus Station...

Last Sunday, a car driver ploughed through Berlin's World Cup pedestrian "fan mile" and injured 26 people. Only because of the fact that there had been no matches on Sunday so that the festival was relatively empty and a miracle nobody was killed.

According to Berlin officials, the 33-year-old intentionally broke through a concrete barrier near the capital's landmark Brandenburg Gate in an effort to seek attention. The driver was arrested at gunpoint after his car crashed into a fence in front of a stage. A 55-year-old woman in the passenger seat was also arrested but later released.

A psychiatric disorder was firmly established as the reason for the dangerously erratic behaviour, although responsibility was not excluded. "There is an investigation of attempted murder," police spokesman Bernhard Schodrowski said, who refused to elaborate any further.

The driver was identified as a "German of Indian" origin.

Only yesterday it expired and then only in one single medium (as far as I was able to trace) that the driver is a "German of PAKISTANI" origin. The, according to eye-witnesses headscarfed, woman in the passenger seat was his mother.

-- Jump Cut --

On Monday, a four-car subway train flew off the rails in Valencia, Spain, killing 41 and injuring at least 45, 12 seriously.

According to the officials and the media, excessive speed is the most likely cause of the accident. Investigators said the train's "black box" indicated it was traveling over 80 km/h (48 mph) on a curved section of track where the maximum speed is limited to 40 km/h (24 mph).

Authorities haven't as yet finally determined what caused the excessive speed. They were, however, quick to rule out any link to terrorism.

The Times of London is the REAL DEAL !

Pity our paper of the same name....while the NYT regards our own govt as more dangerous then the killers of the Islamic KKK, the Times of London serves the greater good.

Sunday Times reporter Ali Hussain spent six weeks in Beeston, where three of the 7/7 bombers came from. He found an enclosed community, rife with conspiracy theories

beeston.gif
The rich smell of Indian spices wafted along the road. Voices babbled in Urdu and Sylheti, a Bangladeshi dialect that my own family speak. Thick-bearded men in robes strolled the streets and youngsters wore their jeans rolled above the ankle after leaving the mosque, as Muslim custom requires.

I felt both at home and in a foreign land. This could almost be an Asian city, I thought, rather than Beeston, the suburb of Leeds where two of the July 7 bombers had lived.

I had come to gauge the mood of the community after the 7/7 attacks, which struck London a year ago this week. The world I knew as a British Muslim sprang from cosmopolitan roots, and I wanted to discover what the people of this more insular community really felt about the bombers and western culture.

A brief word about yesterday

Last night Mrs. Epaminondas prompted me to go to a catholic church nearby in town, where an July 4th Organ concert was going to be given. They have a pre-civil war built organ there 2 stories high, which was built into the second floor balcony at the back of the sanctuary. We have been there for many concerts and the place has an audio presence right up there with anywhere in NYC, where I am from.
4_freedoms_in_one.jpg
I only wish I brought the digital camera to make a video with sound and take stills.

From the national anthem which EVERYONE stood for and sang through the few hymnals, and past the american songs of Gershwin, Cole Porter, and then Copland...NO DRY EYES.

They asked families with serving members to stand and they got a huge four ovation set while they played the Army. Air force, Navy and Marine Marches as each service was touched.

And then they played America the Beautiful and the whole place lit up and sang AGAIN.
I have never seen anything like it.
Never. Not in person.

{sarcasm on}Apparently, people appreciate the place and the idea.{/sarcasm off}

Stars and Stripes Forever had all clapping and stomping in the aisles, and the encore was Kate Smith's favorite, God Bless America, which had all crying again.

Qassam rocket hits school yard in Ashkelon

No one was wounded in the attack, despite the fact that the rocket hit a school in a populated area in the south of the city. Children playing soccer outside the ORT-Ronson High School on Rehov Ben Zvi were thrown back by the force of the explosion, witnesses reported, but were unharmed. The school suffered some damage.

qassam.jpg

Despite an IDF incursion into northern Gaza, a Kassam rocket landed Tuesday night for the first time in the heart of Ashkelon, sending the city's 120,000 residents into a state of fear that their city would be bombarded by rockets like Sderot has since the disengagement last summer.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert termed the Kassam attack a "grave escalation" for which Hamas is responsible and for which there will be far-reaching ramifications.

Olmert's comments came at the annual July 4th celebration held at the residency of the US ambassador to Israel in Herzliya Pituach.

"Tonight a grave escalation took place when a Kassam landed in a school in our southern town. This is a peerless and grave escalation in the terrorist war for which Hamas, which is in control of the Palestinian government, is responsible," Olmert said.

He said there will be significant ramifications for this "criminal attempt" to strike at Israeli citizens. He said Hamas would be the first to be hit.

Henry Hyde: Big Dhimmi Pussy

Bob Novak has an extraordinary article in today's New York Post on a supreme act of dhimmitude by none other than Henry Hyde. I had to scan it as a could not find it online. I can't run it all but certainly the most salient points speak for themselves.

It would have been better to have done nothing than to back pedal and capitulate. It sends the worst kind of message imaginable.

WASHINGTON HOLY WAR Bob D. Novak, New York Post

On June 19, two young members of Congress ' received an extraordinary letter from Jerusalem. On behalf of Christian churches in 'the Holy Land, they were told a House resolution they were circulating blaming the Palestinian Authority for Christian decline there "is based on many false affirmations." The Very Rev. Michael H. Sellers, an Anglican priest who is coordinator of Jerusalem's Christian churches, said the real problem~ is the Israeli occupation -- especially its new security wall.

Prior to hearing this from Jerusalem, freshman Republican Rep. Michael McCaul of Austin, Texas, and four-term Democ'ratic Rep. Joseph Crowley of New York City had collected 21 co-sponsors for their resolution. Two days later, Rep. Henry Hyde House International Relations committee chairman, wrote the congressmen that their claim of systematic persecution by the Palestinian Authority is "inaccurate and incomplete." '

Shame on you Mr. Hyde. It is surprising to me that Hyde nor his staffers didn't even give so much as a cursory look at the background of Reverend Sellers. Neither did Novak surprisingly.

Back in April 2004, Israellycool reported The Jerusalem Post referred to Mordechai Vanunu and his friends, father Michael Sellers and Anglican bishop Riau Abu El-Assl, as Fatah-Tanzim terrorists.

Reverend Seller's hatred of Zionism goes way back. Here is a quote from 1999.

It must be very confusing to God with so many Christians praying contradictory prayers for the future of the people of the Holy Land. Zionist Christians, encouraged by organisations like Christian Friends of Israel and the International Christian Embassy, pray fervently that Israel will not give up the Golan Heights, withdraw the settlements or share Jerusalem with the Palestinians. The indigenous Christians and their friends are praying for the very opposite - for a truly democratic society within Israel and an independent Palestinian State. Whether the aspirations for peace, justice and reconciliation are yet another mirage on the horizon will rest, humanly speaking on the shoulders of one man, Ehud Barak. Let us pray for him..As published in Evangelicals Now

Muslim prosecution of Christians in the Pali territories is well documented;

Persecution is having such a devastating effect on Palestinian Christians that thousands are abandoning their Christian faith and leaving their homelands. In 15 to 20 years, experts anticipate that conditions will only intensify.

"My specific interest in the plight of Christians living in Palestinian society began eight years ago when I met a Christian lay pastor who, knowing that I was a human rights lawyer, urged me to investigate the human rights abuses directed at Muslims who converted to Christianity," said Israeli attorney and author Justus Reid Weiner, referencing the background for his new book, Human Rights of Christians in Palestinian Society.

"I knew nothing about this, and frankly doubted that anyone would victimize the adherents of the world's largest religion. But as I began to schedule interviews, I quickly learned that most of the Christian victims were reluctant to even meet me. If they agreed to reveal what they had suffered, they insisted that I refer to them by a pseudonym," Weiner explained

as well as the desecration of Christian holy sites. Natan Sharansky has been pleading with the world to stop this horror here.

For a number of years already, there is the selected destruction of Christian/Jewish artifacts which is of course the center for Jewish/Christian religion. On the temple mount, King Solomon stables up to the cruaders on...........when the taliban destroyed the buddas in Afghanistan all the world was corrextly enraged. Here we see the systematic, the biggest maybe in the history of geology/archeology, destruction of the most important artifacts for Christianity and Judaism. And the world knows nothing of this.

Nobody is permitted to go and see and watch whats happening. Excavators are working there. They are taking thousands and thousands of pounds and thousands of artifacts and simply thrown out. It is perhaps one the largest archaeological catastrophes in history. (Sharansky phone call 6/15)

Novak continues here;

McCaul and Crowley retreated in haste, putting their res0lution on holdl' going into the long Fourth of July recess. So apparently ends an effort by 'Israeli public relations to place full blame for the Christian exodus from the Israeli- controlled Holy Land on Muslims.

The- U.S. House of Representatives was pulled into this issue by Justus Reid Weiner, an Israei lawyer. Weiner, who long has blamed Christian misfortunes on the Palestinian Authority, contacted Ari Stein, a staffer in McCaul's congressional office. Stein. in turn brought in Crowley, a prominent Democrat, through his staffer, Gregg Shelowitz.

The result was a "Dear Colleague" letter from McCaul and Crowley blaming the Palestinian Authority for "the systematic destruction of the oldest Christian community in the world." The staff-written letter asserted: "If we do not act now, Christians around the world risk losing control of and access to the .most ancient and holy sites in Christendom."

Their subsequent resolution spent three pages detailing alleged persecution of Christians by Arab Muslims. The McCaul-Crowley resolution immediately picked up 16 Republican co-sponsors and five Democrats. This process was slowed by the Rev. Sellers' letter. He said Christian churches in the Holy Land that he represents can take care of any problems with Muslims and "are not seeking your interference in their internal problems."
Where Congress could.help he added, was influencing Israeli government policy: "Your support for the Christian presence in the Holy Land will best-be served by helping to remove the separation wall (which has converted all the Palestinian towns into big prisons for Christiaps and Muslims alike~ and by helping to bring occupation to an. end."

The Arabs are apoplectic over a wall that saves Jewish lives.

After his letter to McCaul and Crowley; Hyde made an appearance last Friday. at an International Relations subcommittee hearing on the plight of religious minorities. Long a supporter of Israel, Hyde testified: "I have been unable to understand how the currently routed barrier in Jerusalem - which rips asunder the existential poles of Christian belief, the, Nativity and! the Resurrection, and encloses 200,000 Palestinians on the Jerusalem side of the barrier - Will improve the security of Israel's citizens."

Huh? Hyde doesn't understand? It stops suicide murder bombers. Which have all but stopped since the erection of the wall. Is Mr. Hyde's memory so short as to not remember the daily suicide bombings. I this what he is advocating.

If I might suggest Henry Hyde and his spineless minions get thee over to the holy land and speak the very Christians whose lives he just imperiled.

Please write Rep. Hyde and tell him gently that his has been misled and a great misfortune awaits those Christians he had sought to protect.

JIHAD: TARGET ANY WHITE PERSON

The charges of racism are misdirected wouldn't you say?

Target any white person: the chilling guidelines for Bali suicide bombers

Any white person is a target. Avoid hotels because they are too well protected. Carry the bombs in small knapsacks to avoid suspicion. And don't worry about your escape route because you will become a "martyr".

These guidelines for suicide bombers were found on a computer captured by Indonesian police during a raid in November, and are believed to have been written by the British-educated bomb-maker Azahari Husin, who died during the attack.

Azahari, in his mid-40s when he died, studied for a doctorate at the University of Reading, and was a leading Malaysian member of Jemaah Islamiah, the South East Asian terrorist group that has close ties to al-Qa'eda.

Azahari had been the prime suspect in a campaign of bombings against western targets including two attacks on the tourist resorts of Bali in 2002 and 2005, killing 202 and 20 people respectively. (hat tip Tim)

Freedom of Expression

Today is Independence Day here in the USA. I thought I'd celebrate by sharing some links to a few other people who seem to value the freedom to express themselves even though they are not Americans, live half a world away. And yes, are Muslims. Female Muslims.

My vast, planetary network of Wraith Informants have provided several examples of these freedom loving women indulging in that most 21st century liberty- the freedom to post nude pictures of yourself on the Internet. I'm not linking to these out of simple voyeurism (in a world awash in porn these are tame indeed) but to make a larger point. Warning: the images contain nudity. If you are offended by naked, semi-nude, topless or bottomless Muslim women please do not click the links. [If you do click the links and are offended do not blame me. You were duly warned.] See the examples here, here, here, here, and here. Even the fully clothed young Arab woman looks self-confident and defiant. Notice that these women wear the hijab while flashing the camera. These are incredibly brave women, pushing back against the constraints of their culture at fantastic personal risk. The dangerous part isn't that they show their boobs but that they show their faces. No doubt there are men and women living close by (maybe even in the same home) who would punish them most severely, perhaps to the death, were they to be recognized. Yet here they are, faces, hijabs, breasts and all.

Why? Why risk so much over a poor quality snapshot of yourself topless at a desk? Perhaps this is the only outlet they have to resist the narrow role allowed women in their society. Perhaps this helps them feel connected to the larger world of the Girls Gone Wild Generation. Perhaps it is one small act of defiance. Perhaps, like everyone everywhere, performing a forbidden act is thrilling and adds excitement to an otherwise banal life.

I don't know why these Muslim women (and probably thousands more) post these semi-naked pictures of themselves on the World Wide Web. The images are just images, providing no rationale or justification. Interpret them as you will. But you have to appreciate the risk, the bravery, and the radically subversive nature of the simple act of a Muslim woman showing here boobs. Now that's speaking truth to power.

North Korean Launches Missile Into Sea Of Japan

Officials still not sure what it was they launched:

TOKYO - North Korea test-launched a missile Wednesday that landed in the Sea of Japan, Japanese media reported.

The reclusive communist state launched the missile at 3:32 a.m., or 2:32 p.m. Tuesday EDT, and it crashed into the Sea of Japan several minutes later, public broadcaster NHK reported. NHK said Japanese government officials were trying to determine whether it was a long-range ballistic missile that had been readied for launch recently.

North Korea had been thought to be preparing a test-launch of its Taepodong 2 missile, which is believed to be able to reach parts of the United States. Officials were not immediately available to confirm the report.

The Winds of War: Thoughts on a Revolution

From The Gathering Storm

It’s the 4th of July and our country is celebrating our independence from Britain and began a revolution that lasted 200 years. But though there have been many revolutions since then, only the American Revolution measured up to its full potential and guaranteed, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Why? And what does this have to do with democratizing Islam?

A true revolution consists of three parts - the political, economic and social aspects. Many revolutions over the last 200 hundred years failed to measure up to the full human potential promising and delivering the goal of freedom. They start out that way, the French and Russian Revolutions for example, but soon deteriorate into something less than expected because they try to implement all three aspects at once. When this happened, the revolution failed. You either have just a change in the hands of power or a change in economic philosophy.

The American Revolution succeeded because it took place over a period of 200 years. The first aspect of the American Revolution was political. A change in the hands of power from British rule to Colonial rule. Our forefathers did not change the way the economy operated (slavery in the South was the cornerstone of their economic progress) nor did they deal with the social aspects of a revolution (the Declaration of Independence declared all men were created equal but at definition of man was very circumscribed).

What made the American Revolution a success was that each aspect of a successful revolution was achieved over time and separate from each other. The political in the 18th century (the US Constitution), the economicin the 19th century (the Civil War – the Industrial Age over the Age of Slavery), and the social (Civil Rights movement) in the 20th.

This long drawn out process gave enough breathing room for the American Revolution to succeed. A time period that will be just as necessary for Islam that must not only have its ‘reformation’ – the separation of church and state – but to form a secular government that is democratic, technocratic, and respect for human rights.

That, in my opinion will take many years. Yes. I know. We were successful in creating a revolution (and removing the influence of the State religion of Shintoism) in Japan after WWII in only a decade, but that was a localized small country geographically unattached to any other country that we changed at the point of a gun.

To be a viable entity in the 21st century, Islam will have to find in its ranks a Martin Luther, a Thomas Jefferson, an Abraham Lincoln and a Martin Luther King.
