QUESTION: Has the Military ever conducted drills in major cities before?
Fuck Obama.
From ABC:
With military helicopters flying above her southeast Houston neighborhood, Frances Jerrals didn't know what to think.
"When you see this, you think the worst. When you hear this, you think the worst," Jerrals said.
And so, she passed along her concern.
"She told me 'don't come home it sounds like we're in a war zone. Guns, shooting, helicopters flying around the house,'" Isaac Robertson Jr. said.
The U.S. Army along with other agencies took over the old Carnegie Vanguard High School near Scott and Airport. There were armed men in fatigues, plenty of weapons and what many thought were real live rounds
"I felt like I was in a warzone." Jerrals said. "It was nonstop. I was terrified."
Turns out, it was a multi-agency training drill that Jerrals wished would have come with warning.
"They could have done a better job in notifying the neighborhood," Jerrals said.
The Army did not give any details of what the training is for. Some people we spoke to needed no explanation.
"If it's to protect our kids, I'm all for it," neighbor Glenn DeWitt said. Our kids need to be protected from our own government.
Thanks to Will at THE OTHER NEWS for the video.
'Our kids need to be protected from our own government'.Hmmm......Houston Texas, you think someone is sending a 'message' to Gov Perry?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point. Texas has made more noise than any other about secession and refusal to comply with the laws of the Obama Admin.
ReplyDeleteYou know what? This is a "multi-agency drill", which I would assume means some of the agencies involved were state and local. Perry may have been in on it.
ReplyDeleteI don't get this.
Even after 9/11 we didn't have the army in the streets of major cities.
Everybody freaks out about military exercises. When another nation has one at sea or near a border, it always makes the news. The fact is, every person in the military who is not at war, has exercises at regular intervals. Often, these exercises have nothing to do with the location in which the exercises are taking place. I'm one for watching the government but I'm also rational and I don't even think we need a military like we have but this post is much to do about nothing.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Joe. But when have we had military exercises in major cities before?
ReplyDeleteHave we?
This is not Libya 1986, or Culebra where exercises and firing occurred all the time.
ReplyDeleteYou do not have an exercise by american forces, responsible to the people including firing in a city of 2.1 million people without complete notification of the people ..WHO ARE NOT SOME TOOLS.
This is not much ado about nothing. This is irresponsible, thoughtless behavior which REVEALS how much, and when the people are thought of by those who deem themselves RESPONSIBLE for their safety.
Someone along the line should have taken care of this and then not only would NO ONE HAVE BEEN UPSET, the exercise would have been very welcome
This type of military exercise took place in multiple locations and was reported as having taken place in Miami both earlier this week as well as back in May 2012.
ReplyDeletePersonal video posted on Wednesday by a witness in Miami, Josh Epperson on Jan. 23 via YouTube.
ReplyDeleteJosh is one of the witnesses interviewed by the msm in the prior comments link.
via Shark Tank blog, boilerplate explanation via local LE:
ReplyDelete“This is routine training conducted by military personnel designed to ensure the military’s ability to operate in urban environments, prepare forces for upcoming overseas deployments, and meet mandatory training certification requirement.” Statement from Miami-Dade Police Department
Quote: "Designed to ensure military's ability"? And when/if things don't go as well as planned/anticipated? What then?
I hate conspiracy theories.
ReplyDeleteBUT
I get a terrible sinking feeling.
"Night drills" over Miami.
Then, this "drill" over Houston.
"If it's to protect our kids, I'm all for it," neighbor Glenn DeWitt said.
Idiot. The words of sheeple.
I hate conspiracy videos too. But this is from local news. It clearly shows military helicopters and the sound of automatic gunfire. The local news guy comments on the gunfire. It is not laid into the soundtrack, it is really there.
ReplyDeleteWhat to make of it?
It must be real, I guess.
Hard to believe, especially since other than Drudge, IBA seems to be the only blog carrying it. No Gateway, no Weasel Zippers, nothing.
