Iranian authorities ordered Isfahan’s 1.5 million residents to leave the city because pollution in the area “has reached emergency levels.”

How's that nuclear facility coming, Mahmoud?

Iran denies evacuating 1.5 million near nuke site due to 'emergency'
NICOSIA — The Iranian government has dismissed reports that authorities ordered the evacuation of 1.5 million people in Isfahan earlier this month.

The statement sought to quell fears of a leak at the uranium conversion facility in the northwestern city."The rumors about leaking and contamination at Isfahan are not true at all," the statement said.
On Jan. 2, Iranian authorities ordered an evacuation around the nuclear facility in Isfahan. An alert by Iran's civil defense agency warned that "pollution has now reached emergency levels" in the city.
The alert was published by Iran's state-controlled media but later removed from websites.
The civil defense alert came in wake of reports in November 2012 of a leak at Isfahan, assigned to convert uranium into a substance meant for enrichment by gas centrifuges. Several workers at Isfahan were said to have been contaminated and required hospitalization.
Isfahan, located on an active fault line, was believed to have been a target of opposition and foreign sponsors. In 2011, the uranium conversion plant was rocked by an explosion and damage was reported.
