This is not a surprise, but it is a clear and present danger to our freedom (dated May 30, 2013):
DOJ: Social Media Posts Trashing Muslims May Violate Civil RightsGo read the rest HERE. Now.
In its latest effort to protect followers of Islam in the U.S. the Obama Justice Department warns against using social media to spread information considered inflammatory against Muslims, threatening that it could constitute a violation of civil rights....
[...]
The area’s top federal prosecutor, Bill Killian, will address a topic that most Americans are likely unfamiliar with, even those well versed on the Constitution; that federal civil rights laws can actually be violated by those who post inflammatory documents aimed at Muslims on social media. “This is an educational effort with civil rights laws as they play into freedom of religion and exercising freedom of religion,” Killian says in the local news story. “This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are.”
The DOJ political appointee adds in the article that the upcoming presentation will also focus on Muslim culture with a special emphasis on the fact that the religion is no different from others, even though some in the faith have committed terrorist acts, Christians have done the same....
So, what are we to do about this, an issue of supreme importance. What the DOJ is trying to do strikes at the heart of Freedom of Speech!
Ace of Spades asks, "Has Obama Repealed the Clear and Present Danger Doctrine"?
Write your congressman, both senators, and contact the ACLU ... for starters.
ReplyDeleteFollowing on the path of the UK.
ReplyDeleteIf Congress does nothing about this, it can only mean they are part of this attack on Constitutional rights.
The muslims are getting their way, piece by piece.
ReplyDeleteYou know damn well this is being done in part due to intimidation.
The people here are scared shitless of them.
Just how the muslims like it.
Diana West points out this Orwellian phenomenon in this 43 minute Daily Caller video interview beginning around the 32 and a half minute mark, but I highly recommend watching the entire video.

ReplyDeleteThis is shocking indeed; though I can't say I'm surprised. The powers-that-be are determined to close down criticism of Islam. It is absurd, and terrible that we have to tolerate this nonsense.
ReplyDeleteWhatever is happening to the US, the one-time 'Land of the Free'? At this rate, Americans will soon be enslaved.
What happened to America's commitment to its Judaeo-Christian heritage? And why is Islam being given this pass? It's all very odd and certainly very difficult to comprehend.
One thing is for sure: We cannot depend on the Establishment to protect us from the onslaught of Islam.
The truth is the truth. He who is not willing to carry the burden of the truth will be weighed down by Fascism.
ReplyDeleteI have some honest questions:
ReplyDeleteDoes calling a black person a "n***o" (or any variant of the word) constitute "violation of civil rights"?
Do KKK or neo-Nazi marches come under that category?
What is considered a "violation of civil rights"?
OBAMA IS MAKING IT UP AS HE GOES ALONG.
ReplyDeleteIs Shulman giving Obama a Lewinsky a violation of Shulman's Civil Rights?
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought.
One thing we should remember is that America is NOT Europe. Where in Europe none of the rights are guaranteed (governments can change their minds whenever they want), in the US you have them as part of your constitution. It is not THAT easy to stamp on those rights no matter how liberal a president may be.
The only reason they are able chip away at these constitutional rights is because, for some odd reason, there are NO conservative lawyers, conservative artist, conservative action groups strong enough to achieve what liberals and Muslims achieve every day.
I have to wonder really what the f*** conservatives have been studying for the last 4 or 5 decades that wherever you look the only people who are in a position to fight back tyranny (short of owning guns) are f***in liberals!
Where are the conservative lawyers suing the sh*t out of this government on behalf of the people based on the constitution. This would an easy freakin case!
And if conservative lawyers are suing the government, where are the conservative artists and the conservative media making these lawsuits known to the wider public?
Not to mention the conservative protesters, one of my biggest beefs.
ReplyDeleteYou know why the liberals and muslims can get away with so much?
Because the conservatives are afraid or something, idk.
Try to get a protest going with conservatives. Except for the short lived Tea Party era, you have seen very few.
There are always some excuses, too early, too late, too far, sorry I have to work, too bad.
But, when it comes time for the liberals to protest, they come out in droves.
The liberals have "groups" that help set these things up.
Why don't we?
We should be out in the 100's of thousands protesting and screaming our heads off (The liberals sure would be). But were not.
Were writing letters, making angry comments on news/blog articles and answering polls.
Haven't things grown bad enough here to elicit some serious anger?
Guess not.
Christine,
ReplyDeleteExactly.
I don't think the situation of Argentina is going to change anytime soon. In fact, the situation in Argentina for conservatives is WAY worse than it is in the US. Here conservatives have already lost and it would take a MIRACLE to get the country back in conservative control (because conservatives are associated with military dictatorships here).
However, people still find time to go out on marches against the current president. For example this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57Jf9UwuamQ
You don't have to watch the whole video but notice the date, this protest (the most recent of these protests) took place on April 18th. It was a Thursday. People went to the protest, with their family, after work even though they had to go to work the next day.
Like I said, in Argentina this isn't going to change anything. But people still do it in the hopes that something would change.
I am surprised by the lack of action on the part of conservatives in the US.
Okay I have to admit that another reason nothing is going to happen in Argentina is because every protest looks like a party (its fun!).
ReplyDeleteHi Guys, i'm noticing this is more a 'global' push, Belgium just changed their laws on this subject as well.
ReplyDeleteFor way less then you're posting you 'qualify' for jailtime there.
I see the hand of the OIC.....Turkey.....Erdogan......Obama here.
By the way Blogger Carl in Jerusalem is pointing out that the IRS 'Internal Revenge Service' is concentrating on Israeli Americans while 'helping' Palestinian Americans.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Obama's first call in Office was to Palistinian Abbas.
It's not surprising.
ReplyDeleteWe live in very dark times.
I can condense this to what it really means, we now have laws that supersede the constitution. Do not say anything we won't like. We will come for you. You are only as free as we your government masters allow.
ReplyDeletePasto,
ReplyDeleteThanks for bumping this. This matter is of critical importance!!!
I agree.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you posted it.
I didn't notice it yesterday. It wasn't until this morning that I noticed how important it was.
Soooo . . .
ReplyDeleteDoes this aapply equally to all religions and ideas? Is it a violation of my civil rights that Muslims post antisemitic screeds on social media ending with the threat to wipe me and all my people off the face of the earth?
I will answer my own rhetorical question:
I thought not.
Not if Barack Obama has anything to say about it.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the LA Times going to release the Rashid Khalidi tapes?
ooohh come now Elisheva Hannah Levin, your people have only contributed the polio vaccine, and other medical breakthroughs of staggering worth that have improved the quality of life in the western world along with silly things like the ten commandments,
ReplyDeleteso of course our political elites want to trade that for all the inherent benefits and the tender mercies of massive muslim immigration to the west.
Will , this attack on our first amendment indeed does appear to extend far beyond the United States as illustrated at the Astute Blogger.....http://astuteblogger.blogspot.com/2013/06/fascists-in-eussr-france-getting-ready.html">Marine LePen, French far right leader loses immunity, faces charges
ReplyDeleteFrench far right leader, Marine Le Pen, could face criminal charges for inciting racism, the BBC has learnt. The French authorities opened a case against Mrs Le Pen in 2011 after she likened the sight of Muslims praying in the streets to the Nazi occupation of France.
I'm going to coin a phrase here using the Vichy gov. Name from ww2, what we are witnessing here is the vichyfication of the government's of the west. They have decided to suppress their native populations and move towards tyrrany rather than address the real danger of Muslim immigration/invasion
