Martin Indyk lied about Netanyahu

A lie from years ago has been peeled back, exposing an ingrate who wanted to be enemies with somebody simply because of his political position:
A PBS documentary on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s rise as a politician features former US Ambassador Martin Indyk who claims Netanyahu made controversial comments to him at Yitzhak Rabin’s funeral. While video evidence proves Indyk falsified at least part of his story, he appears to vindicate Netanyahu of being responsible for Rabin’s murder.

Frontline’s controversial “Netanyahu at War,” which had its premier showing on PBS Tuesday night, depicts the Israeli politician as a feisty character who does not shy away from confrontation, and in fact, relishes it.

In that context, Netanyahu’s battle with President Barack Obama over the Iran nuclear deal is seen as just one in a long series of fights Netanyahu has been engaged in since the beginning of his political career. He may not be your favorite political figure, the film argues, but you must admire him for his oodles of testosterone, if for nothing else. And like the Israeli leader or not, it’s impossible not to admire his tenacity.

In that context, the film stops short of actually blaming the Rabin assassination on the atmosphere that Netanyahu allegedly generated during the election campaign. For one thing, it relies heavily on left-wing speakers for the narrative, so that, for instance, Rabin’s alienation of the right does not exist in the film, nor is his expressed view that he was only the prime minister of most of the people.

[...] The Prime Minister’s Office and his former advisers dismissed Indyk’s allegations as a fabrication. Footage of the funeral reveals he never actually sat anywhere near Netanyahu.

Indyk later offered a second account of the incident and claimed that the remarks in question had been made at a special Knesset ceremony prior to the funeral itself, although footage from that event shows only family members were seated and that Indyk was not present.

A leaked diplomatic cable published by the Wikileaks from that time and which discusses the ramifications of the assassination, has Indyk reporting that Netanyahu viewed the incident as “a disaster for the Jewish people, a disaster of Israel and a disaster for the Right…i’ll be decimated [at the polls] if elections are called soon.”

Shai Bazak, Netanyahu’s aide at the time, denied Netanyahu ever expressed the comments in question. Bazak said that he was with Netanyahu on the night of the assassination, and the discussions surrounded the tragedy, and not political gain.
Read the whole article, but for now, ponder what kind of a disgrace Indyk is by lying about the time, and then trying to cover his tracks with more lies upon lies. He owes an apology, but it's clear he'll never do so.

Cologne Police Chief Fired for Covering UP The Fact That The Cologne 1000 (Sexual Assaults) Were Perpetrated By Muslim Migrants

The Gaping Puss-Filled Pussy of Western Civilization

From Sky News:
Cologne’s police chief has been sent into early retirement following criticism over his handling of allegations of sex assaults and violence by migrants on New Year’s Eve.
Wolfgang Albers admitted mistakes were made in a report compiled after more than 100 New Year revellers were sexually assaulted, robbed or threatened during the city’s celebrations, mostly by migrants and asylum seekers.
Cologne police said the decision to retire Mt Albers would be formally discussed by North Rhine-Westphalia’s governing Cabinet on Tuesday, but he would not be returning to his job.
The sacking came as a women’s rights campaigner and performance artist named Milo Moire staged a naked protest over the assaults.
Ms Moire stood in front of Cologne Cathedral brandishing a placard which read: “Respect us. We are not fair game even when we are naked.”
AND THEN THERE'S THIS:

Cologne New Year’s Violence Cases Up To 379, Most Perpetrators Were Migrants

Obama Looking To Become Secretary General Of UN,

We predicted this three years ago on our Gathering Storm Radio Show.

Obama becoming secretary general would do everything he could to impede Israel.
Via Washington Times:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly is planning payback for President Obama’s dismissing Mr. Netanyahu’s objections to the Iran nuclear deal last year. Mr. Netanyahu is said to be rallying moderate Arabs to thwart Mr. Obama’s bid to become the Secretary-General of the United Nations after he leaves the White House next year.
Mr. Obama has already discussed the issue with Republican, Democratic and Jewish officials in the United States, according to Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida.

Left wing Israeli activist has Arab blood on his hands

A far left activist is responsible for betraying Arabs who sold land to Jews, turning them over to the PLO for execution:
A well-known far-left Israeli activist was recorded as saying that he aided Palestinian authorities find and kill Palestinians who sell land to Jews.

In a report aired Thursday by Israel’s Channel 2 television program Uvda, the activist, Ezra Nawi, was secretly recorded saying that he had turned in the land brokers to Palestinian security services, who would then kill them.

Nawi, of the Israeli-Palestinian Taayush group, who was unaware of being recorded, is heard during the report talking of four Palestinian landowners who contacted him, thinking he was also involved in the land trade.

"I give their photos and their phone numbers immediately to the [Palestinian] Preventive Security Force," Nawi says in the recording. "The Authority catches them and kills them. But before they kill them they beat them up."

In the Palestinian Authority, the penal code reserves capital punishment for anyone convicted of selling land to Jews. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas published an order in October 2014 hardening the punishment for Palestinians who sell land to "hostile countries" and their citizens. The order amended the Palestinian penal code to include stricter penalties for those who sell, rent out or act as real estate mediators with "hostile countries."

The report by Channel 2 investigated left-wing groups operating in the West Bank and the footage used was obtained by right-wing activists who infiltrated these groups.

Nawi can be seen during the recording obtaining information from a Palestinian who believed he was a Jew interested in purchasing land.

According to the Uvda report, an activist from the Israeli left-wing human rights group B’Tselem helped Nawi set up the would-be seller in a sting operation.

Nawi, responding to the report and the criticism and against him, denied entrapping the broker. "The opposite is true. He came to me and presented himself as a land broker," he said, according to Israeli daily Ha'aretz. Since I assumed he was sent to frame me and tarnish my name in the Palestinian community, I had no choice but to report the incident to the Palestinian Authority, lest I be deemed a land buyer. I regret that the report is part of the effort to sabotage my activities, and the activities of my friends alongside the Palestinians."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the report with a Facebook post saying it “unmasked radicals among us, whose hatred for settlements has pushed them over the edge to the point of delivering innocents for torture and execution. Those who encourage murder cannot continue to hide behind the hypocritical pretense of caring for human rights.”
The disgusting and repellent man who betrayed the Arabs has blood on his hands, and even if he didn't physically murder them himself, he's still guilty of setting them up to be murdered, and of supporting the same. His whole defense is laughable, because what all he really cares about is his image with the PLO themselves. His criminal actions have drawn backlash, starting with the prime minister, as noted above:
The Ch. 2 report drew backlash from numerous politicians and public figures. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on his Facebook page that the report "exposed the true face of the extremists among us, driven crazy by the hatred of the settlements to the point of turning in innocent individuals [leading to their] torture and execution." He further said that "the investigative report is another testament to the cruel conduct of the Palestinian Authority, which tortures and murders Palestinians whose only 'crime' is selling land to Jews."

He called on "all sectors of Israeli society" to condemn the acts in the report. "Those who encourage murder cannot hide behind the hypocritical façade of 'caring for human rights.'"

Education Minister Naftali Bennett said on Facebook that he had spoken with the ambassadors of the U.K. and France, demanding that they stop donating to Ta'ayush and B'Tselem. He also said he expects the "leaders of the left," including Isaac Herzog, Tzipi Livni, Yair Lapid "and even Zehava Galon to condemn such activity. Murder is murder is murder."

The former head of the Shin Bet security service, Yuval Diskin, said on Twitter that Ezra Nawi should be sent to jail, but added that "the data shows that there is no basis for comparison between violence coming from the right and violence coming from the left."
Oh, for heaven's sake. He shouldn't be dragging that in, no matter how poorly some would-be rightists made themselves look by mimicking Islam. But the point is well made now that Ta'ayush and B'Tselem cannot receive funding because of these horrific crimes they've implicated themselves in. Nawi should be imprisoned, though if he's sent to a prison where Muslim criminals are kept, he'll probably convert willingly. And of course that wouldn't be good, even if it's just like him to do so.

"Why is Turkey the one to decide who qualifies as #refugee towards Europe?"

From Will at THE OTHER NEWS:

Islamist Turkey and EU Don't agree on how to spend 3 Billion Euro Refugee aid. (TZ).

According to a written statement issued on Dec. 24 by the European Commission, the EU is setting up what was called a “Refugee Facility for Turkey,” a legal entity that will provide coordination on disbursing the funds earmarked for refugees in Turkey starting from Jan. 1.

The European Parliament, representatives of member states as well as those from Turkey will be part of the facility, although the principal driver will be the European Commission. On Oct. 15, the European Council welcomed the idea and endorsed a Joint Action Plan with Turkey on handling the refugees.

A problem has emerged on two fronts: how to ensure an efficient spending of these funds and how to convince all member states that promised to pitch in to the common fund to actually deliver on that pledge?

On the former, according to European Commission First-Vice President Frans Timmermans, the money will be spent on “providing support to further improve daily lives and socio-economic conditions of Syrians seeking refuge in Turkey." The Steering Committee of the Refugee Facility is expected to “provide strategic guidance and decide on which actions will be financed, with which amount and through which financial instruments.”

In contrast, we are hearing a different song from the Turkish side.

EU Affairs Minister Volkan Bozkır says the decisions will be made by Ankara and not the EU when it comes to deciding how to spend this money
Briefing lawmakers on the background of the negotiations on the deal, Bozkır told members of Parliament on Dec. 23 his government did not agree to a plan by which the EU provides funds and dictates how to spend it. “That cannot happen,” he said, stressing that Turkey is willing to share the list on how it would spend the funds such as education and health but will do it on its own. He revealed a working commission that was set up in the Prime Minister's Office has already drawn up a detailed list of items on where the EU funds should go.

Compounding matters further, it is unclear how to select Syrian refugees from Turkey as part of a voluntary admission scheme to resettle Syrians in EU member states.

The plan is contingent on a reduction in the number of irregular migrants crossing from Turkey to the EU. On Dec. 15, the European Commission called on member states to provide quotas for receiving refugees based on “absorption, reception and integration capacities, as well as population size, [gross domestic product] GDP, past asylum efforts and national unemployment rates.” If Turkey does not succeed in reducing irregular border crossings, the resettlement scheme will be suspended.

Bozkır also claimed those refugees slated for resettlement in EU member states will be screened by Turkey first and foremost, leading to a list of eligible candidates to be drawn up.

Hmmm........Why is Turkey the sole person to decide who qualifies to go to Europe? How many Refugees did the EU Agree upon to take from Turkey.....every year? Anyone surprised? Read the full story here.

Trump Could Win It All: A new survey shows a sizable number of Democrats ready to defect from Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump

From US News and World Report::
So if Donald Trump proved the political universe wrong and won the Republican presidential nomination, he would be creamed by Hillary Clinton, correct?
A new survey of likely voters might at least raise momentary dyspepsia for Democrats since it suggests why it wouldn’t be a cakewalk.
The survey by Washington-based Mercury Analytics is a combination online questionnaire and “dial-test” of Trump’s first big campaign ad among 916 self-proclaimed “likely voters” (this video shows the ad and the dial test results).
It took place primarily Wednesday and Thursday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
Nearly 20 percent of likely Democratic voters say they’d cross sides and vote for Trump, while a small number, or 14 percent, of Republicans claim they’d vote for Clinton.
When those groups were further broken down, a far higher percentage of the crossover Democrats contend they are “100 percent sure” of switching than the Republicans.

Italy: Sec. for European Affairs Says Migrants Must Respect Our Values or Be Deported

Gozi says migrants must ‘respect our values or be deported’
“(ANSA) – Rome, January 8 – Undersecretary for European Affairs Sandro Gozi on Friday said that migrants who come to the European Union must respect its shared values or risk expulsion, responding to the reports of attacks on New Year’s Eve in Cologne which German police on Tuesday said were committed by men of “Arab or North African appearance”.
“Here, the Quran comes after the Constitution, here women are equal to men and aren’t imprisoned inside a burqa,” Gozi said.
“These are the values that must be respected by those who want to come here. Those who don’t respect them must be expelled,” he said.
“Those responsible for the horrendous crimes in Cologne are unworthy of being a part of our community”.
The number of victims who have reported crimes or attacks from New Year’s Eve in Cologne has risen to 200, said the online version of German daily Spiegel on Friday, adding that “many of the reports are of sexual molestation”.
German police on Friday identified 31 suspects in the crimes and released their nationalities, adding that 18 of them are asylum seekers.
Police said the suspects are nine Algerians, eight Moroccans, four Syrians, five Iranians, one Iraqi, one Serbian, one American, and two Germans.”

USPA NEWS – A new video released by Al-Andalus, the producer of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), has alerted the Spanish security forces, after confirming that a Spanish citizen living in Melilla appears in it.
This is Abu al-Nur al-Andalusi, a Spanish citizen living in the North African city of Melilla and Spain fled to join the jihad. The terrorist defines himself as “Mujahedeen” and belongs to a family, several of whose members have been arrested by the Spanish Police for his relationship with radical groups. Abu al-Nur al-Andalusi seized on the video threatening attacks in European cities such as Madrid, Naples and Rome.
The video, which has been analyzed by the company AICS, dedicated to the study of terrorist threats abroad, shows images of terrorist acts and members of a group operating in Mali, in the West African coast, in whose ranks militates Spanish Abu al-Nur al-Andalusi. This terrorist asked last September to the “Muslim brothers in Spain” to abandon their homes and their families for jihad.

Syria jihadist 'kills mother' after she asked him to leave IS

An Islamic State jihadist killed his mother in a public square in the Syrian city of Raqa who begged him to leave the organisation, a monitor said Friday.
Ali Saqr, 20, had reported his mother, Lina, to IS authorities in Raqa "because she tried to persuade him to leave IS and flee the city," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
Authorities subsequently arrested the woman and accused her of apostasy, the monitoring group said.
On Wednesday, she was shot to death by her son "in front of hundreds of people close to the mail service building in Raqa city," the Observatory added.
Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman said the woman, who was in her forties, was living in the nearby town of Tabaqa but worked in Raqa city.
The incident was widely condemned online by social media users.
Raqa is the de facto Syrian capital of IS's so-called "caliphate," the territories it controls in Syria and Iraq where it imposes its harsh interpretations of Islamic law.
Among the crimes that warrant a death sentence in IS territories are homosexuality, "exposing jihadist genitalia," adultery and intercourse with animals, according to the Observatory.
Other acts punishable by death range from blocking roads to "betraying Muslims" and working with anti-IS groups including the "crusader" US-led coalition.
Even capturing and torturing an anti-IS activist or fighter without proper authorisation from jihadist authorities could be met with a death sentence.
But in IS-held territories, using child soldiers and "owning slaves", which are typically sexually abused, are both legal.
And the extremist group has been accused of carrying out mass killings, torture, rape and sexual slavery.
A US-led coalition has been striking the jihadists in Syria and Iraq for over a year.
More than 260,000 people have been killed in Syria's war since it erupted in March 2011.

Fox:

Two Mideast refugees arrested on terror charges appearing in US courts

Two men born in Iraq who came to the U.S. as refugees were set to appear in court Friday on terror-related charges in California and Texas, as investigators say one of the men wrote that he wanted to travel to Syria because he was "eager to see blood."
A criminal complaint unsealed Thursday accused 23-year-old Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, of Sacramento, Calif., of traveling to Syria to fight alongside terrorist organizations and lying to government investigators about it.
Almost simultaneously in Houston, federal authorities announced the arrest of Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, 24, on charges of attempting to provide material support to ISIS, procurement of citizenship or naturalization unlawfully and making false statements to investigators. He was the 80th person charged under Federal law in an ISIS-related case since April 2013, and the first in 2016.
In addition to writing that he was "eager to see blood," Al-Jayab also claimed that he wanted to learn "long range shooting," and that "God has facilitated" his travels, court documents show.
The documents did not indicate whether the two cases were connected. However, the affidavit says Al-Jayab communicated with an unnamed individual living in Texas in April 2013 to see if he could receive training in various weapons.
Authorities say Al-Jayab, who came to the U.S. from Syria in October 2012, discussed plans to return to Syria and fight alongside terror groups with several other individuals on social media. The complaint says Al-Jayab was living in Wisconsin and Arizona during this period.
Social media and other accounts say that as soon as he arrived in the United States, he began saying he wanted to return to Syria to "work," which the FBI says is believed to be a reference "to assisting in and supporting violent jihad."
Al-Jayab criticized ISIS in several messages for killing Muslims, saying "If it weren't for the State's bloodletting, I would have been the first one to join it", according to the FBI, although he later described fighting alongside the group.
In one communication with the Texas contact, dubbed "Individual I", Al-Jayab described, during earlier fighting, emptying seven ammunition magazines from his assault rifle during a battle and executing three Syrian government soldiers.
According to the complaint, Al-Jayab traveled to Syria from Chicago via Turkey in November 2013. He remained in Syria until the following January and fought alongside several terror groups, including Ansar al-Islam, which merged with ISIS in 2014 after Al-Jayab had returned to the United States. He settled in Sacramento following his return to the U.S.
The complaint alleges that Al-Jayab lied about his travel and ties to terror groups in October 2014 when he was interviewed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. At one point, Al-Jayab allegedly claimed that he had traveled to Turkey to visit his grandmother.
U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner said in a statment that there was no indication Al-Jayab was planning any terror attacks in the U.S., though he represented a "potential safety threat."
Ben Galloway of the federal defender's office is Al-Jayab's attorney. He did not immediately return telephone and emailed messages Thursday. Al-Jayab faces up to eight years in prison if convicted of making a false statement involving international terrorism.
In the Texas case, the indictment of Hardan states that beginning in May 2014, Hardan "did unlawfully and knowingly attempt to provide material support and resources ... training, expert advice and assistance, to a foreign terrorist organization, namely the Islamic State of Iraq."
The indictment claims that Hardan, who arrived in the U.S. in 2009 and became a legal permanent resident in 2011, concealed his association with ISIS on his citizenship application in August 2014 and lied about receiving machine gun training when he was interviewed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
"Based on the facts, as we know them, today's action may have prevented a catastrophic terror related event in the making and saved countless lives," Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said in a statement.
"This is precisely why I called for a halt to refugees entering the U.S. from countries substantially controlled by terrorists," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott addedt. "I once again urge the President to halt the resettlement of these refugees in the United States until there is an effective vetting process that will ensure refugees do not compromise the safety of Americans and Texans."
Later Thursday, federal officials confirmed that three of Al-Jayab's relatives had been arrested in Milwaukee. They said those arrests were not related to national security and there was no threat to the public. The three were scheduled to make their first court appearance Friday.

"Ms. Merkel Invited Me": Refugee Sex Assaults Reported In Finland, Switzerland, Austria

On Thursday, we got what appears to be confirmation that the “hundreds” of suspects involved in a series of sexual assaults on German women were largely of Arab origin. According to German media, many of the men were asylum seekers who had recently entered the country from the war-torn Mid-East.
The assaults occurred in the city center in Cologne, where eyewitnesses and victims say groups of marauding New Year’s revelers accosted women, in some instances making off with their belongings. Attacks were also reported in Hamburg, and Stuttgart.

Initially, the incidents received little media coverage but soon the word was out and the backlash from the German public was palpable.
Protests were staged in Cologne and opposition lawmakers lambasted Chancellor Angela Merkel for her open-door migrant policy which some say is destined to rip Germany’s social fabric to shreds.
Meanwhile, Cologne mayor Henriette Reker got herself into a bit of hot water by suggesting that German women have a responsibility to deter attacks by staying at “arm’s length” from would-be assailants. She also said Germany “needs to explain to people from other cultures that the jolly and frisky attitude during our Carnival is not a sign of sexual openness.”

Apparently, Germany isn’t the only country that needs to “explain” things to refugees. Reports now suggest that women in Finland and Sweden experienced similar assaults on New Year’s Eve by asylum seekers.
“Finnish police reported Thursday an unusually high level of sexual harassment in Helsinki on New Year's Eve and said they had been tipped off about plans by groups of asylum seekers to sexually harass women,” AFP reports, adding that “three sexual assaults allegedly took place at Helsinki's central railway station on New Year's Eve, where around 1,000 mostly Iraqi asylum seekers had converged.”
"There hasn't been this kind of harassment on previous New Year's Eves or other occasions for that matter... This is a completely new phenomenon in Helsinki,” the city’s deputy police chief said. "The suspects were asylum seekers. The three were caught and taken into custody on the spot," Koskimaki told AFP.
Apparently, the attacks were premeditated. "Ahead of New Year's Eve, the police caught wind of information that asylum seekers in the capital region possibly had similar plans to what the men gathered in Cologne's railway station have been reported to have had," a police statement read.
And it wasn’t just Finland.
“Swiss police said several women were allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted in Zurich on New Year’s Eve, [in a] method 'a little bit similar' to that used in a spate of assaults in Germany,” The Herald Sun writes. “And it has now emerged that similar sex attacks were carried out in Austria, but police didn’t publicise the incidents ‘to protect the privacy of the victims’”.
Yes, "to protect the privacy of the victims" - or to protect against the prospect that publicizing the incidents would trigger a bloc-wide backlash against refugees, because while it's easy to say that the actions of seven individuals on a suicide mission in Paris aren't representative of the millions of asylum seekers flooding into Europe from Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, it's a bit harder to claim that apparently coordinated sexual assaults by thousands of would-be asylum seekers don't say something about the extent to which integration may be, in Slovak PM Robert Fico's words, "impossible."
On Thursday, Spiegel released the findings of a German Federal Police report on the Cologne attacks. Here are some bullet points (translated):
  • Officials were therefore prevented by close people rings from advancing to help caller
  • A man is quoted as saying: "I am Syrian, you have to treat me kindly Mrs. Merkel has invited me."
  • Witnesses were threatened when they named perpetrators.
  • People torn according to the report in front of the police residence permit, grinned and said: "You can send me anything, go get a new tomorrow." Whether they were genuine documents and what kind of documents, it is not apparent from the report.
  • Granted restraining orders have been ignored; To take repeat offenders in custody, due to lack of capacity was not possible.
  • After track closures due to overcrowding people had just walked on the side track and then on the rails back to the suspended platform.
  • When boarding trains there were physical fights, it was the "law of the jungle".
"Women with or without accompaniment went through a literally 'gauntlet' by the heavily intoxicated men masses, as one can not describe it," the report reads.
There you have it. "Heavily intoxicated men masses," comprised of Syrians who told police that they had been invited by Angela Merkel. That's sure to go over well with the German public and opposition lawmakers.
Apparently, Germany is set to uninvite those responsible, as the justice minister said the country could deport some suspects. Of course identifying the culprits will be next to impossible. Here's The New York Times:
The police have so far been unable to apprehend anyone, a fact that Wolfgang Albers, Cologne’s chief of police, attributed to the chaos in which the assaults took place, despite there being dozens of officers on duty in the area.

“The women were in a very difficult situation,” Chief Albers said in an interview Wednesday with the public radio station WDR 5. “They were afraid, they wanted to get away, and of course they did not notice any specific faces.”

In Hamburg, the police said Wednesday that they had received 53 complaints, more than half of them alleging sexual harassment, from victims age 18 to 25. They appear to have been targeted in a similar fashion in that city’s Reeperbahn red-light and club district on New Year’s Eve. Victims and witnesses in Hamburg also described the attackers as being dark-skinned or “looking Arabic.”

The New Year’s Eve mass-scale assaults, the police said, involved groups of several men taking advantage of the crowds to target young women by surrounding them. While several perpetrators groped the women, others picked their pockets, stealing wallets and cellphones.

Even if the authorities are able to apprehend suspects, they biggest challenge will be for victims to identify their attackers, given that several men appeared to have been involved in the attacks on each woman.
Here's the latest from Merkel who, while stopping short of subjecting her own policy to criticism, seems to be changing her stance - if only gradually.
"Of course after what happened, there are several very serious questions which go beyond Cologne. Are there connections or collective patterns? Are there elements of condemnation of women?"

"We must vehemently work against that. I don't think these are single cases. People have a right, and we as a state institution have the obligation to give the right answers to this."
Meanwhile, the first version of Hitler's "Mein Kampf" to be published in Germany since World War II went on sale Friday.

The Washington Post:

Meet Kimberly Corban, the pro-gun rape survivor who challenged Obama on CNN

On May 21, 2006, Kimberly Corban was a 20-year-old student completing her sophomore year at the University of Northern Colorado. She had just finished finals — summer was on its way. She had her whole life ahead of her.
Then, the unthinkable happened. Around five in the morning, a man broke into her apartment in Greeley, Colo., and, for almost two hours, sexually assaulted her.
“I thought, ‘I’m going to die,'” Corban, now 30, told The Washington Post in a phone interview. “There’s no going back from that.”
Corban’s story did not exactly have a happy ending — or, at least, the ending is ever-evolving. Though her assailant is now serving 24 years to life in prison, she struggled with depression, PTSD and stress-related seizures. And, speaking about her experience, she came to realize how important it was for women to have access to guns to protect themselves.
Then, Thursday night on national television, she got to confront the man she thought wanted to take her guns away: President Obama.
“As a survivor of rape, and now a mother to two small children — you know, it seems like being able to purchase a firearm of my choosing, and being able to carry that wherever my — me and my family are — it seems like my basic responsibility as a parent at this point,” she told Obama during “Guns in America,” CNN’s town hall, after the president announced executive orders on gun control Tuesday.
“I have been unspeakably victimized once already, and I refuse to let that happen again to myself or my kids. So why can’t your administration see that these restrictions that you’re putting to make it harder for me to own a gun, or harder for me to take that where I need to be is actually just making my kids and I less safe?”
[As Obama tries to bridge divide on guns, it seems as wide as ever]
First, Obama praised Corban for showing up.
“Well, Kimberly, first of all, obviously — you know, your story is horrific,” he said. “The strength you’ve shown in telling your story and, you know, being here tonight is remarkable, and so — really proud of you for that.”

Then, Obama tried, at length, to answer her question. He pointed out that, though he didn’t think Corban’s guns necessarily made her safer, he’s not trying to take them away.
“I just want to repeat that there’s nothing that we’ve proposed that would make it harder for you to purchase a firearm.” And: “You have to be pretty well trained in order to fire a weapon against somebody who is assaulting you and catches you by surprise.” And: “There’s always the possibility that that firearm in a home leads to a tragic accident.” And: “All I’m focused on is making sure that a terrible crime like yours that was committed is not made easier because somebody can go on the Internet and just buy whatever weapon they want without us finding out whether they’re a criminal or not.”
Corban wasn’t impressed.
“I would say it was more of a non-response,” she told The Post. “He kind of dodged the question.”
Saying Obama was working without a script or a teleprompter, Corban criticized the president’s insistence on talking about how guns endanger children every time he “got jammed” at the town hall. Doesn’t he understand that she has guns because she wants to keep her children safe in her family’s home?
“That’s where I understand this violence happens,” she said, mentioning that her daughter will be a year old soon. “It’s not just on the news. It’s not just in far-off places. My nightmares are real. They are my memories. I don’t want that for my own kid.”

If Corban’s challenge to the president impressed viewers, it’s perhaps because she has been outspoken about sexual assault since her own. She immediately reported the incident — and even left her rapist’s semen on her leg so police could get a DNA sample of her attacker. She testified for three hours at her assailant’s trial in 2007, helping convict a man who police told her would likely become a serial rapist, and perhaps even a serial killer.
“This happened to me for a reason, and maybe it was to help give women strength to speak up,” Corban said at the time. “I don’t care if you are a stripper or you’ve been drinking — rape is rape, and it’s not your fault. You didn’t ask for this.”
Her willingness to help convict a man — 25-year-old Ronnie Pieros — was publicly praised and, for more than a decade, Corban has continued to work on behalf of sexual assault survivors.
“Corban was clear-headed, strong-willed and visible in the public eye,” the Greeley Tribune editorialized in 2007. “Had she not acted in that manner it’s hard to say if Pieros wouldn’t be walking the streets today, plotting out his next twisted attack. But she did. She’s a free woman now. Pieros sits behind bars. Corban showed other victims how to plot the best revenge.”
“As awful as it was I have turned it into an experience hopefully others can learn from,” she said.
Addressing one of the most divisive issues in America just weeks ahead of the start of primary season in an election year, Corban’s question was provacative and was quickly embraced by conservative outfits like Glenn Beck’s the Blaze.
Kimberly Corban’s “claim that Obama keeps her from buying gun when she already owns one is ridiculous,” one Twitter user wrote. Another wrote: “Kimberly Corban is my hero. I can’t imagine the the courage it takes to stand up like that.”
Asked about her politics, Corban, a community relations director at the Weld County district attorney’s office in Colorado, described herself as “independent-minded.” Though public records show she once registered as a Republican and she criticized Vice President Biden’s views on gun control on the Blaze in 2013, she said she wasn’t prepared to endorse a presidential candidate — and stressed that she did not appear at “Guns in America” in her professional capacity.
“I just want the clear, easy facts not to get lost in the back and forth,” she said.
Asked about her armory, Corban wasn’t talking, though a photo of her packing heat is posted to her Twitter page.
“I actually typically try not to disclose that just for safety’s sake,” she said. “I do have a small concealed carry and I have other firearms which I choose to keep in my home.” To the president’s point that weapons can bring tragedy in homes, like hers, with small children, she said her guns are “completely secure.”
“You don’t have to carry a firearm,” she said. “I’m not telling you that you need to. I just want you to respect my right to do that myself.”

When the Associated Press says you have a problem...

Hot Air:

AP fact check: Obama gun-control actions wouldn’t have stopped any mass shooting
posted at 8:41 am on January 6, 2016 by Ed Morrissey

To paraphrase Samuel Johnson: media fact-checks on Barack Obama’s claims about guns may not be done entirely well … but one is surprised to find them done at all. Following Obama’s emotional press conference yesterday, both the Associated Press and the Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler conducted some research into his claims and his proposals. Both of them found serious holes in Obama’s arguments.
Let’s start with the AP’s Michael Sisak, who corroborated arguments gun-rights advocates have been making ever since word began leaking out about the executive actions Obama would take:
The gun control measures a tearful President Barack Obama announced Tuesday would not have prevented the slaughters of 20 first-graders at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, or 14 county workers at a holiday party in San Bernardino, California. …
Those measures are seen as crucial to stemming gun suicides — the cause of two-thirds of gun deaths — by blocking immediate access to weapons. But, an Associated Press review shows, they would have had no impact in keeping weapons from the hands of suspects in several of the deadliest recent mass shootings that have spurred calls for tighter gun control.
The shooters at Sandy Hook and San Bernardino used weapons bought by others, shielding them from background checks. In other cases, the shooters legally bought guns.
Sisak appends his analysis with a detailed list of mass shootings over the past three-plus years, and notes in each why the changes announced by Obama end up being non-sequiturs. The only shooting that might have been prevented by federal action should have been stopped anyway. Dylann Roof had a drug arrest on his record, which should have flagged his application to purchase a firearm, but a records screw-up allowed Roof to buy his weapon — and Obama’s proposals wouldn’t have changed that, either.
In fact, hardly anyone buys their weapons through the supposed “loophole” Obama purported to close yesterday, Liz Peek argues:
Access to guns by unfit people has almost nothing to do with the “gun show loophole,” which turns out to be another one of those convenient myths that has driven Obama policy–like the false suggestion that a goodly share of our prison population are innocent victims of overly-harsh drug laws.
After the Sandy Hook tragedy, President Obama convened a group overseen by Vice President Joe Biden to study gun control issues. In a 2013 speech, the president proposed various policies meant to check such killings, including expanding background checks to private sales of firearms. He noted that any sales through federally licensed vendors require background checks to eliminate those with a criminal history or mental health issues, but also claimed, “It’s hard to enforce that law when as many as 40 percent of all gun purchases are conducted without a background check.”
This assertion was debunked by FactCheck, which points out that the dubious 40 percent statistic emerged from a 1994 telephone survey of only 251 individuals. The author of that study told Politifact that he has “no idea” if that number is valid; Biden takes pains when discussing the topic to say the figure may be incorrect. Other analysts cite 4% as a more accurate share of gun sales through unlicensed dealers, given that a large number of the people surveyed said they had received guns from friends or relatives.
A 2001 survey of state and federal prisoners discovered that less than one percenthad bought their weapons at a gun show. Another study, of inmates of the Cook County jail, claimed that 70 percent of those locked up had acquired their weapons from friends or gang members; another favorite source was “straw” purchases made by someone capable of passing the background check. Only two had actually had actually bought a gun at a store.
Still, Obama kept pushing this notion as a pressing reason for acting unilaterally to do … not very much, as it turns out. “The problem is some gun sellers have been operating under a different set of rules,” Obama claimed. “A violent felon can buy the exact same weapon over the Internet with no background check, no questions asked.” This is absolute poppycock, at least as far as the law is concerned, which applies to all commercial/retail gun sales. Glenn Kessler found himself deluged by demands for a fact check, and responded today with a two-Pinocchio rating for this statement:
Administration officials say his point was that electronic commerce has made it easier for prohibited people such as felons to obtain firearms (or to hide such transactions from scrutiny behind the dark Web). Put in those terms, his statement is reasonable. Illegal markets often exploit new forms of commerce.
But many readers believed Obama was asserting the rules were different for the Internet — that it legally permitted violent felons to obtain guns.
We agree that Obama’s language is slippery and could be confusing to the average person who doesn’t know anything about FFLs and interstate requirements. There is nothing unique about the Internet; the laws governing private transactions and interstate sales are exactly the same. It’s the same as offering to sell a gun on a bulletin board, except the bulletin board is significantly larger. The Internet, and eletronic payment systems such as PayPal and Bitcoin, have certainly facilitated transactions that in the past would have been more difficult to arrange.
Obama erred in saying the rules are different for Internet sellers. They face the same rules as other sellers — rules that the administration now says it will enforce better.
Clearly, Obama wasn’t faulting enforcement; he demanded changes in the law, challenging Congress to act to close this supposed “loophole.” His language is slippery and dishonest, and it has been consistently both on this point for years. Kessler gave him two Pinocchios for getting it wrong, but the error in this case has been repetitive and deliberate. Kessler does a good job of getting the facts straight, but seems a bit too gracious under the circumstances to a president who’s been demagoguing on this false premise for a very long time. Kudos for taking up the challenge, but I’d have leaned toward the four-Pinocchio result, with an extra scolding for trying to sell this with a super-sized serving of lachrymose.

German Vigilante Groups Pledge to Protect Women After the Cologne 1000 (Mass Sexual Assault)

Dusseldorf, the neighbouring city to migrant sex attack capital Cologne is the first German city to see a new citizen protection league since the new year’s attacks, with thousands signing up to do their part.
Declaring “one for all, and all for one”, the motto of Sweden and a saying commonly associated with the Three Musketeers the new ‘Dusseldorf is Watching’ group already had 2,300 members after it was launched on Facebook last night.
The group intends to provide protection at major events and in city centres at weekends to ensure the safety of their fellow Germans, reports the Rheinische Post.
While the desire to “protect our ladies future” appears sincere the group has already come under attack not only by police who maintain law enforcement should remain firmly their own responsibility, but also by the press who have labelled the group “absurd” and criticised it for including members of biker gangs
Reports: Cologne NYE assaulters were largely asylum seekers

The GOP-Establishment Manipulators

Last night, I looked into getting absentee ballots for Mr. AOW and me so that we can vote in the Virginia Primary on March 1, 2016. We were planning to vote for any GOP candidate not approved by the GOP establishment.

For as long as I can remember, here in Virginia we have had open primaries. That is, voters did not have to affirm Party affiliation to vote in primaries.

Lo! What did I see regarding the upcoming Virginia Primary? THIS!
The Republican Party of Virginia has determined that the
following statement shall be a requirement of your participation.
Both Mr. AOW and I are registered as Independents, so we won't be voting in the 2016 Virginia Republican Primary. We've been shut out.

BTW, no such certification is required for the 2016 Democratic Primary here in Virginia.

Meanwhile, here is a recent essay by one of the GOP-establishment mouthpieces: Trump’s nomination would rip the heart out of the Republican Party.

Police in Norway proclaim 'Oslo is lost'

From the American Thinker:
Gronland is a district in Oslo, Norway, very close to Parliament. Per a Poqari News report, the area looks like “Karachi, Basra, and Mogadishu all rolled into one.”
The situation has devolved to such a point that the police in Gronland have declared: “Oslo is lost.”
Gronland’s been on track to join the caliphate for a while. A little over two years ago, Muslims in Gronland were pushing for it to become part of the Islamic State.
Poqari News reports that Norway (and all of Europe) is no longer recognizable as such, that women are routinely raped, men are robbed on a regular basis, the police have given up, and there are sharia patrols.
In 2015, there were 50 rape reports filed in Gronland, where, like all of Oslo, 100% of rapes of native Norwegian women by strangers are committed by Muslims.
Across Norway, as with all of Europe, women dare not go out at night alone, the risk of rape is so incredibly high.
Also in 2015, robberies in Gronland averaged one a day. In the past ten years, more than 4,000 people have been robbed, often right near the Gronland police station, which is in an immigrant ghetto.
When the police visited one of Gronland’s latest victims, who was assaulted, held hostage, and robbed, they told him they had no way of stopping the robberies. “We have lost the city,” they said.
We are witnessing the wholesale collapse of Europe due to self-destructive decisions and a lack of any will to defend the homeland – a defense that wouldn’t be necessary if they hadn’t let the barbarians in.
But they let them in. And they just can’t stop. Europe has become addicted to its self-inflicted demise. Who would have guessed needless guilt would go that far?

German Minister Says, Critics Of Cologne Mass Rape By Muslim Immigrants “At Least As Awful As Those Assaulting the Women"

When You Are a Total Pussy,
Terrified of Your Own Shadow,
Those Who Criticize Rapists Are As Bad As The Rapists

From Breitbart:
The interior minister for the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, within which Cologne is situated, has said people of a right wing persuasion discussing the mass sexual assaults on New Years Eve online are equally “awful” as the attackers and rapists.
“What happens on the right-wing platforms and in chat rooms is at least as awful as the acts of those assaulting the women,” Ralf Jaeger, a member of the left wing Social Democratic Party of Germany, told reporters this morning.
“This is poisoning the climate of our society”, he added, after equating anti-immigration rhetoric with sexual assault. Breitbart London — a “right wing platform” — first brought news of the attacks to the English speaking world, sparking a global tide of outrage in the process.
Over 90 women were attacked in Colonel on New Years Eve, with multiple victims describing the 500 to a 1000 perpetrators as “Arab and North African”.
Many of the men did not speak German or English, leading to speculation that they are from the more that a million migrants who have entered Germany this year.

Europe’s Man Problem

From Politico:
The recent surge of migration into Europe has been unprecedented in scope, with an estimated 1 million migrants from the Middle East and North Africa this past year alone, making for a massive humanitarian crisis, as well as a political and moral dilemma for European governments.
But one crucial dimension of this crisis has gone little-noticed: sex or, more technically, sex ratios.
According to official counts, a disproportionate number of these migrants are young, unmarried, unaccompanied males. In fact, the sex ratios among migrants are so one-sided — we’re talking worse than those in China, in some cases — that they could radically change the gender balance in European countries in certain age cohorts. As many governments, including in the United States, debate how many migrants to accept onto their shores, they would be wise to take gender balance into consideration.
That might sound sexist on the surface, but years of research has shown that male-dominated societies are less stable, because they are more susceptible to higher levels of violence, insurgence and mistreatment of women.

It makes good sense that so many young men are leaving countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria: Their demographic is often at greater risk of being coerced into joining fighting groups, or being killed rather than captured by such groups.
But the result is that 66.26 percent of adult migrants registered through Italy and Greece over the past year were male, according to the International Organization of Migration.
That imbalance might not sound radical, but it is, especially when you look more closely at who those males are. It’s true that many male migrants hope that, if granted asylum, they will be joined in Europe by their wives and children, who would help balance out national sex ratios. But importantly, more than 20 percent of migrants are minors below the age of 18, and the IOM estimates that more than half of those minors traveling to Europe are traveling as unaccompanied minors — 90 percent of whom are males.
This heavily male subset is all but guaranteed asylum because of their status as unaccompanied minors, but they get no special dispensation to bring spouses, especially since the European Court of Human Rights recently ruled that European Union countries are not required to recognize the legality of child marriages among migrants.
Consider this:

If you have 1 million extra Muslim men in Europe, those Muslim men are not going to remain single their whole lives. They will either get married, or couple with women, and they will have children.

So, what about the birth rate of Muslims in Europe vs. Native Europeans?
Analyst Ömer Taşpınar, writing for the Washington, DC-based Brookings Institution, estimates that the Muslim birth rate in Europe is three times higher than the non-Muslim one.
Europeans, in general are breeding at a little less than replacement rate. That means a little less than 2 2.2 children per couple. So let's say 1.8.

If Muslims in Europe are breeding at three times that rate, that means they are putting out 5.4 kids per couple.

That means 1 million extra Muslim men (men for whom there is not a corresponding Muslim woman) in Europe over the past year will work out like this:

1 Million Muslim men

+

1 million European women who are religiously unaffiliated enough to not care who they marry

+ 5.4 million children in the next 20 years

=

7.4 million Muslims added to the total population.

1 Million becomes 7.4 million awful quick, doesn't it?

You hearing me?

Is this thing on?

DC only gained mockery from those they sought to appease

In a recent Superman/Wonder Woman series annual, the editors and writers had no idea what exact languages are spoken by Pakistanis, even as they made Pakistan out to look like victims of non-Muslims:
In this year’s recently released issue of Superman & Wonder Woman Annual #2, the Man of Steel and the Queen of the Amazons struggle with uncertainty about their new romantic relationship, a rogue Olympian terrorizing Pakistan, and an editorial team that apparently doesn’t know that Pakistani people don’t speak “Pakistanian.”

Just before Wonder Woman shows up to do battle with Dichara, a thief who’s stolen weapons from Hephaestus, writer K. Perkins slips in an editor’s note explaining that two Pakistani mens’ dialogue has been translated.

Note that the language is described as non-descript “Pakistanian” rather than the grammatically correct “Pakistani” or, better yet, any one of the specific, actual languages spoken near the Shimshal village.
Well they're right that the names of the languages and dialects spoken there are not simply called "Pakistanian". Rather, it's languages like Urdu and Punjabi that usually are. Contrary to what one of the people the reporter spoke to said though, there's always a chance Marvel could've made the same mistakes.

With that having been noted, however, it's regrettable that what we have here sounds an awful lot like a story where a westerner's the villian, and Pakistan's made out to look like victims of such. If it weren't for that, I'd let the sloppy wording slide, but the politics the story reeks of only make me feel all the more discouraged from bothering. Besides, the whole premise of this Superman/WW series was little more than an obvious fanfic pairing from the very start, effectively eschewing creativity along with Lois Lane.

Tommy Robinson on the Cologne 1000

Tommy Robinson makes some important point, including highlighting the fact that the same kinds of attacks also happened in several other European cities on New Year's Eve.

This was a coordinated effort by the "North African and Arab" men.

Even the officials have admitted it was coordinated. Here it is from the Guardian:
Officers are working on the assumption that the men had organised their plan of attack.
This is organized crime. So why are the officials actively attempting to bury the story at this point?

AND THEN THERE'S THIS:

It’s not very likely that any of the men who harassed dozens of women in Cologne on New Year’s Eve will be convicted, says Cologne-based criminal lawyer Nikolaos Gazeas.
DW: Identifying the men who may have participated in the sexual assaults, harassment and thefts in Cologne on New Year’s Eve is proving to be a problem. If you don’t know who they are, the chances of arresting them are almost nil, right?
Nikolaos Gazeas: That’s true. The chances of convicting even one of the perpetrators are slight.
All the same, what is needed in order to take penal action in these cases of massive sexual assault, even including theft in many cases?
You can find a very good rundown of reports here.

THERE'S ALSO THIS:

Victims of the Cologne New Year’s Eve migrant sex abuse gangs have told of the harrowing attacks they were subjected to this weekend, as it emerges a total of 118 Germans have now come forward to police to report having been assaulted
