Newsarama sugarcoats Joe Sacco's propaganda comics getting digital editions
I see Newsarama's writing a disgustingly sugary take on the anti-Israeli cartoonist Sacco's left-wing propaganda graphic novels:

This was somebody who made harmful statements at the time of the Charlie Hebdo massacre, whose comics are apologia for Islamofascism, and they're telling us this is "riveting"? What a disgrace.

His vision is so far-left, it's hard to be sure which of his GNs is worse. At least this sums up where Newsarama stands, if that's how they're going to describe everything. And it's no shock the award ceremonies, corrupted as they are by partisan politics today, would heap plenty of prizes into his posessions. That's why award shows today are just not worth the bother, as the rating results for this year's Oscars ceremony demonstrated.
Safe Area Goražde is a standout for Sacco's perspective as effectively an embedded journalist during the Bosnian War. This OGN was named 'Best Comic of 2000' by Time Magazine, and won both an Eisner Award and an Eagle Award for 'Best Graphic Novel.'

A former Islamic extremist has lodged a complaint with police, accusing his parents of radicalising him as a child.
The 29-year-old’s case could lead to the first prosecution of its kind in the UK, but experts fear that current legislation may not allow charges to be brought.
The man, who is British-born of Pakistani origin, alleges his parents began radicalising him from the age of five after falling under the influence of a fundamentalist branch of Islam known as Salafism.
Canadian military officer faces life in prison for anti-vaccine speech
The Department of National Defence says a military officer is facing charges after allegedly urging other members of the Canadian Armed Forces not to help with the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
Officer Cadet Ladislas Kenderesi has been charged with one count of persuading another person to join in a mutiny and one count of behaving in a scandalous manner unbecoming of an officer.
The charges follow a speech at an anti-lockdown rally in Toronto in December in which a man appeared in full military uniform and spoke out against what he called “killer” vaccines.
The man, who is introduced as Kenderesi and is wearing a name tag with that surname in a video of the speech posted on YouTube, calls on other military members to disobey their orders and not distribute the vaccine.

Life Insurance Rates Did Not Change During "Pandemic" That Destroyed Economies Around The World, and Had Billions of People Pissing-In-Their-Pants Scared
Life insurance and Covid-19. Something doesn’t make sense
You would think that during the worst Pandemic since the 1918 Spanish Flu life insurance companies would be hedging their bets to avoid major losses from Covid-19. I haven’t written a life policy for several years so I was wondering what was going on? I called one of the brokers I deal with that interacts with hundreds of big life insurers to get an inside look into how the Covid crisis has changed their business.
Imagine my surprise when she said it was pretty much business as usual! Last year when the hysteria was just getting ramped up she did say the companies temporarily tightened up underwriting and reduced the amount of coverage they would offer. But as time went by and the hard data came rolling in those same companies went back to business as usual.
I asked her specifically if life insurers wanted a Covid test as part of the underwriting process and she said none that she was aware of. Hmm, that’s pretty interesting isn’t it? The most lethal pandemic in decades descends on the globe with deadly mutations taking millions of innocent lives and the life insurance companies couldn’t care less.
I also asked if the cost per thousand of coverage had increased due to Covid and again she said no. Rates were pretty much the same as they were before the Covid Pandemic ravaged the earth.

Students in Portland, Oregon openly support Hamas barbarism
If you need more proof the past years have seen a shocking increase in desensitization to violence as much as antisemitism, a filmmaker exposed just how much college students in Portland meet that level:
In a viral clip published this week, documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz approached students in Portland, Oregon, and managed to garner funds to support the Hamas terror organization despite openly presenting the group as determined to destroy Israel and kill Jews.Read more at the link. This really paints a very ugly picture of a city that's been collapsing with riots by Antifa and BLM. The news even reminds me of a Portland resident I'd once corresponded with over 20 years ago, whom I recently discovered had a criminal record and served a jail sentence for a serious offense. I can't say I'm surprised there's 6 or 7 counties in Oregon that want to break away and merge with Idaho instead. The way the state's being run by leftists today is truly awful.

He was an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump.
“The police started shooting at people,” Kelly told me. “There were kids in the crowd.”
To be frank, I am not sure the video depicts what the gentleman in the video describes. I don't see the police attacking the people in the crowd.

State Department Investigator: Wife of Wuhan Lab Researcher Died of Covid-Like Symptoms In December 2019
The wife of a Wuhan lab researcher working on coronaviruses died of what appeared to be COVID-19 in December 2019, the leader of a State Department investigation under the Trump administration told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
It would have been an early clue that the virus could be transmitted among humans, yet Chinese authorities said that the virus was not transmissible for at least a month after they knew it was, allowing it to spread, according to David Asher, who led an investigation on COVID-19's origins and served in the State Department under Democrat and Republican presidents.
China reported in mid-January that the virus was transmissible among humans.
An individual who worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology at the time provided the information on the lab researcher�s wife dying, according to Asher.

A source reminds me that he knew about this back in March 2020.
And that source said that numerous family members of Wuhan lab researchers had covid-like symptoms. Keep your eyes open for those shoes yet to drop.

Dominion blames 'human error' for voting machines not showing GOP ballots in Pennsylvania county
Dominion Voting Systems, a company beset by dubious election fraud claims in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, said "human error" was to blame after machines in a Pennsylvania county failed to display Republican ballots.
Nicole Nollette, the executive vice president of operations at Dominion, announced the conclusion during a two-hour special meeting held by the Luzerne County volunteer election board on Monday, according to the Times Leader. This contradicts Director of Elections Bob Morgan, who said last week a "coding error" from within Dominion caused the mishap during local primary elections last Tuesday.
"Dominion deeply regrets the confusion this error caused," Nollette said.
The Board of Elections in Luzerne County, located in northeast Pennsylvania, said every vote was counted correctly, according to local outlet Fox 56, a local outlet. But Republicans in particular raised concerns about the integrity of the election.
Luzerne County voters, regardless of their party affiliation, saw a ballot only labeled for the Democratic primary on the first screen, leading to confusion. Ballots would show as Republican when printed, even though they appeared to be Democratic on the screen. The election authority granted GOP voters to file a provisional or emergency ballot.
"Nobody did that intentionally," Morgan said. "The moment we found out what the impact was we immediately sought to give advice to the public, and it is our desire to never have that happen again."
"The ballot header typo had minimal impacts on the actual administration on the election and no impact to the results and the tally," Nollette added.
Morgan told PA Homepage May 18 there was "no evidence of any of this problem on the mail-in ballots, which were produced from that file. We’re still working with Dominion to get an explanation as to how this coding error occurred. They were as surprised about it as we were."
San Jose shooting leaves 8 dead, deceased suspect identified; White House monitoring rail yard incident
A shooting at a rail yard in San Jose, California, early Wednesday left eight people dead, not including the suspect, who was also declared deceased after taking his own life, authorities confirmed.
The suspect was identified as Samuel Cassidy, who was an employee at the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), where the incident took place, according to authorities. No motive is known for the shooting at this time.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Russell Davis said several explosive devices were found inside a building at the VTA control center. A bomb squad is at the scene and there is no present danger to the community, he said.
An investigation is also underway of an arson at what is believed to be the nearby home of the suspect. FBI agents and the San Jose Fire Department were at the second scene. Authorities say the house caught fire before the shooting at the VTA.
In Washington, D.C., principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the White House will continue to stay in close contact with local officials in San Jose, before using the shooting as an opportunity to call for Congress to strengthen background checks.
"The White House is monitoring the situation, and our hearts go out to the victims and their families," Jean-Pierre said. "We still don't have all the details, but what is clear, as the president has said, is that we are suffering from an epidemic of gun violence in this country, both in mass shootings and in the lives that are being taken in daily gun violence that doesn't make national headlines."
