To outward appearances, Michael Allen was a revered high school coach in the tiny community of Little Axe, Oklahoma -- a caring, charismatic leader who mentored star athletes on his girls' softball and boys' baseball teams.All of that changed when Allen and fellow coaches showed up at a 2002 spring break trip by Little Axe High School students to South Padre Island, Texas, some 750 miles south.
Ashley Terrell, a 17-year-old senior, and a friend were coaxed to the coaches' hotel room where a party with alcohol led to Ashley blacking out. She woke up to find Allen in bed with her while her friend cried out for her from the bathroom, alleging she had been abused by another coach. Scared and confused, the girls fled the room.
Ashley quickly told her mother and school officials, including a school security officer she confused with a police officer. They assured her the matter would be handled. But Allen was never arrested or charged with any crime. He resigned quietly from Little Axe in 2002. In the years since, he has coached or taught at seven other Oklahoma high schools, according to state records, a development Ashley found appalling.
"I watched them pass the trash right in front of me," said the woman, now Ashley Rolen, 39, an Oklahoma City entrepreneur married to a pastor. She is working to publicize the problem of sexual misconduct, particularly among K-12 school employees. "My story is significant but not unique," she notes ruefully.
Rolen's case illustrates a shadowy and largely undocumented aspect of the national crisis involving the sexual abuse of K-12 students by teachers, administrators, coaches, bus drivers and other staff. Experts say the hundreds of school employees arrested each year and the more than $1.2 billion in related settlements paid out by school districts in just the last decade represent a mere fraction of the problem in a system that works to deny and hide the abuse of minors.
There is no national data for sexual misconduct involving K-12 school employees, according to the Department of Education.

Potential gang activity was caught on surveillance camera in a Colorado apartment building after what one former resident calls "no accountability" kept law enforcement from assisting.
The video shows many men armed with handguns, and one with a scoped rifle, bursting through the door of the apartment complex for unknown reasons.
The group appears to be Tren de Aragua, or TdA, a transnational gang based out of Venezuela. The gang, with reportedly 5,000 members, has a motto of "real until death," or "real hasta la muerte."
TdA is now linked with over 100 crimes across the nation, according to reporting from the New York Post.
Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital that "without a doubt that there is sex trafficking now going on" in relationship to TdA's activities in the city.
"This is organized. They patrol the property with guns visibly, like they're not trying to hide them. There's no repercussion. These are ghosts," said one resident who spoke with Fox News Digital on the condition of anonymity.
The gang has also been seen dealing drugs in the same apartment building, according to this resident.
The resident, who moved out of the overtaken apartment building on Wednesday afternoon with the assistance of City Council Member Danielle Jurinsky and congressional candidate John Fabbricatore, said to Fox News Digital that "I literally had to borrow from everybody I know to get into a new place. And it's every bit of money I had."

After the La Grande-Motte synagogue terrorist attack that left a police officer injured, a change in perception was needed for the broader French public to understand and confront the sources of antisemitism in the Republic, Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France (CRIF) president Yonathan Arfi told The Jerusalem Post in a Wednesday interview.Well the question is whether even the Jewish community's willing to show the courage it takes to identify the threat, and acknowledge it's Muslims carrying it out in modern times. A viral photograph of the armed arsonist who set fire to the Beth Yaacov synagogue while garbed in a keffiyeh and Palestinian flag represented “an image of the new antisemitism threatening the regular life of French Jews,” said Arfi.
The image that the French public had in its mind when it thought of antisemitism and antisemitic attacks was of historical groups like Nazis, but Arfi called for his fellow citizens to update their perception of the sources of anti-Jewish animus to consider the malicious fonts of Israel-hatred, radical Islamism, and social media conspiracy theories. Without a change in state of mind, it would be difficult to tackle antisemitism.
“We all live with the idea that some people consider Jews to be legitimate targets for a battle happening 4,000 kilometers away,” said Arfi.
Part of the public’s antiquated understanding of antisemitism was that the most malicious forms of antisemitism was state-sanctioned – but in France, the new antisemitism persisted despite the opposition of the state. Arfi explained that the Republic and its officials understood the source of antisemitism and its source in the hatred of Israel. Jews were even being targeted in rhetoric for loyalty and close relationships with the government.
At a rally against antisemitism on Tuesday, Arfi was joined by officials from every level of government – including Herault Prefect Francois-Xavier Launch, Montpellier Mayor Michael Delafosse, and La Grande-Motte Mayor Stephan Rossignoi.
While Jewish French citizens enjoyed the protection and support of the Republic and even the backing of the majority of their fellow citizens, it was a silent majority overshadowed by the voice of a loud and sometimes even violent minority.
“We have the feeling in France that a minority of French society, mainly made up of pro-Palestinians, are using the Gaza cause to attack Jews in France,” said Arfi.

After the attack in which the suspect fired on the police officer and caused the explosion of a car in front of the synagogue, French Jews were concerned, worried, and vigilant – but not afraid – according to Arfi. He and many others understood this incident to be part of a long-term phenomenon that needed to be addressed.
Without the involvement of the majority, as long as antisemitism remained just a problem of the Jews, the new malicious font of antisemitism in France would continue to spew forth attacks to dirty the Republic’s streets.
“Our hope is that one day the French society will understand that what is a threat to Jews is a threat to liberal western democracies.”

EHK, an Algerian national with French residency, appeared before a judge on Wednesday, according to AP. Prosecutors are pursuing preliminary terrorism charges against him, including attempted murder, arson motivated by race or religion, and armed violence against police.
Two other individuals suspected of aiding him are also facing possible charges.

The attack happened Friday at a 'Festival of Diversity' which the German town of Solingen was holding to celebrate 650 years since its founding. There was an outdoor concert and close to the stage three people were killed and several more injured by a man wielding a knife. The attacker reportedly stabbed each person in the neck and then ran away. People at the scene claimed he shouted "Allahu Ackbar" during the attack.
A manhunt was launched but about 24 hours later the killer turned himself in to police. He was identified as Issa al Hasan, a Syrian asylum seeker who should have been deported 18 months ago. I've added in the attacker's full name which German publications aren't allowed to print.

Bulgaria was the first EU country he entered so Bulgaria was responsible for handling his asylum case. He was set to be returned to Bulgaria but he filed a lawsuit with the help of a lawyer in Dresden. That case failed but when authorities went to pick up al Hasan to remove him from Germany, he was gone. Six months later, the order of deportation expired.
There is an open question about the expiration of the deportation order. In circumstances where the asylum seeker is apparently hiding from authorities, as in this case, they are allowed to extend the order. But for some reason that wasn't done here.

The bombshell video was discovered and assembled by social media user “Armitas,” who shared the findings exclusively with Blaze News. Armitas asked to remain anonymous. Blaze News has confirmed the individual’s findings using Capitol Police CCTV files made public over the past several months by the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight.
The video discovery raises serious questions about what was discussed during the nearly three-minute apparent meeting between police and the alleged bomber — and why the officers didn’t detain the person or publicly report the incident after the RNC bomb was found the next day.
It also raises the question of why the FBI never shared the video with its own agents or the public and did not disclose or explain the bomber’s seeming interaction with Capitol Police.
