It's true, it liberated millions from under the boot of Communism, but it also took away the only balance which prevented unleashed capitalism. The results are in the open. Without the threat of the ogre, capitalism could run unopposed. Corporate Pac Man games left people in the street after years of helping build the corporation and all they got was a kick in the behind and a handshake. Monopolies somehow managed to jump over rules and regulations that had kept them at bay in the past, and we ended up with the aggressive accounting that brought Enron to the ground, and the operational "creativity" which only aimed at breaking rules and pushing the legal limit. I don't know.
