ACLU Board Member Threatens To Kill Trump Supporters

(with a hat tip to Western Hero)

From CBS Denver (December 11, 2015):
ACLU Board Member Resigns After Urging People To Kill Supporters Of Trump

DENVER (CBS4)– A board member for the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado has resigned after urging people to kill supporters of presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Loring Wirbel’s Facebook post was captured by The Daily Caller – a right-leaning online newspaper.

The post states, “The thing is, we have to really reach out to those who might consider voting for Trump and say, ‘This is Goebbels. This is the final solution. If you are voting for him I will have to shoot you before Election Day.’ They’re not going to listen to reason, so when justice is gone, there’s always force…”

“It’s almost like, you will think the way we think, you will do what we want you to do, or we eliminate you?” says Steve House, chair of the Colorado Republican Party.

It’s the second threat against Republicans in Colorado in one week....

If the ACLU board member threatened to shoot Hillary, would the matter be investigated? Certainly!

The hardcore Left: dangerous when they don't get their way. So much for liberty!

ACLU Fighting For American Taliban’s Right To Preach Radical Sermons To Fellow Muslim Inmates In Prison

From AP —
An American-born Taliban fighter imprisoned in Indiana will try to convince a federal judge that his religious freedom trumps security concerns in a closely watched trial that will examine how far prisons can go to ensure security in the age of terrorism.
John Walker Lindh was expected to testify Monday in Indianapolis during the first day of the trial over prayer policies in a tightly restricted prison unit where he and other high-risk inmates have severely limited contact with the outside world.
Lindh, 31, a Muslim convert who was charged with supporting terrorists after he was captured by U.S. troops in Afghanistan and later pleaded guilty to lesser charges, claims his religious rights are being violated because the federal prison in Terre Haute deprives him of daily group prayer.
Muslims are required to pray five times a day, and the Hanbali school to which Lindh belongs requires group prayer if it is possible. But inmates in the Communications Management Unit are allowed to pray together only once a week except during Ramadan.
At other times, they must pray in their individual cells. Lindh says that doesn’t meet the Quran’s requirements and is inappropriate because he is forced to kneel in close proximity to his toilet.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana, which is representing Lindh, contends the policy violates a federal law barring the government from restricting religious activities without showing a compelling need.
‘‘This is an open unit where prisoners are basically out all day,’’ said ACLU legal director Ken Falk, noting that inmates are allowed to play basketball and board games, watch television and converse as long as they speak English so the guards can understand.
‘‘They can do basically any peaceful activity except praying,’’ he said. ‘‘It makes no sense to say this is one activity we’re going to prohibit in the name of security.’’
Attorneys for the government maintain that Lindh’s own behavior since he was placed in the unit in 2007 proves the risks of allowing group prayer.
The government says in court documents that Lindh delivered a ‘‘radical, all-Arabic sermon’’ to other Muslim prisoners in February that was in keeping with techniques in a manual seized from al-Qaida members that details how terrorists should conduct themselves when they are imprisoned.
Lindh’s sermon proves ‘‘that religious activities led by Muslim inmates are being used as a vehicle for radicalization and violence in the CMU,’’ the government claims.
Falk said Lindh’s speech wasn’t radical and was given during the weekly prayer that inmates are permitted. He said Lindh was not disciplined for the speech.
The self-contained unit in which Lindh resides has 43 inmates, 24 of whom are Muslim. Inmates are under open and covert audio and video surveillance, and except for talks with their attorney, all of their phone calls are monitored. Prisoners are not allowed to touch their family members when they come for their tightly limited visits. They must speak English at all times except when reciting ritual prayers in Arabic.

Why do we (UNFORTUNATELY) need the ACLU? THIS IS WHY

Pork fillet with Bordelaise sauce
When you read this remember, this could be a vegetarian, an orthodox Jew, or devout Buddhist or any other dietary restricted belief set, in this case, the woman is an EXEMPLAR of what we hope the future relations among religions should be.

If the ACLU stuck to this kind of stuff instead of suing the US govt over the use of drones 12,000 miles outside of the USA, they would be heroes

For those who despise the ACLU as a whole (I am nearly in that category) I will remind you of what they told me when the they defended the Nazis right to march in Skokie ..only by defending the rights of the most obnoxious are our own GUARANTEED. That is a hard mission statement to argue against.

In this case though, the only obnoxious people are those in the foster child placement agency.

Conservative and libertarians should be out in force over this one but it has been ceded to KOS, Thinkprogress, and the like.

ACLU: Foster mother rejected for not serving pork

Complaint filed with city agency over incident, officials say

April 14, 2010|By Brent Jones, The Baltimore Sun

Almost two decades ago, Tashima Crudup left her grandmother's home and entered the city's foster care system, where she learned firsthand what makes a good mother.

As she shuffled from family to family beginning at age 8, Crudup encountered some attentive and loving foster parents, while others were unsupportive and constraining.

"I always wanted to be a foster parent," said the 26-year-old mother of five

In July, Crudup -- a practicing Muslim -- contacted Contemporary Family Services, a private company authorized by the state to place foster children with families. She cleared an initial screening process and completed 50 hours of training classes for prospective parents. But after a home visit, her application was denied.

The main reason: She doesn't allow pork in her house.

Shocked, Crudup contacted the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland, which filed a complaint Wednesday with the Baltimore City Community Relations Commission, claiming religious discrimination.

"I have a hard time believing [the company] denies every vegetarian or Orthodox Jewish person a foster care license," said Ajmel Quereshi, an attorney with the ACLU. "But I do believe Mrs. Crudup was picked out here ... and it has led us to believe an anti-Muslim bias is playing a role in the decision."

Crudup said she didn't realize her dietary habits were a concern for the placement company. The food she serves her children was among dozens of topics that came up during a daylong interview in August 2009.

Even though she doesn't allow pork in her house, Crudup said she told the caseworker she would have no problem with children in her care eating the meat at school outings or restaurants.

"Before I was Muslim, I was studying [to be] a Jehovah's Witness," Crudup said she told the company. "I would make a provision for the child to attend whatever services."

The CEO of Hyattsville-based Contemporary Family Services and other officials did not return repeated phone calls.

Officials from the state Department of Human Resources, which oversees Maryland's foster care system and hired the private company to manage the licensing process, notified Contemporary Family Services on Wednesday that it appeared to have violated several state laws.

"The law does not permit the agency to make a determination solely on the type of food served in a home," said Nancy Lineman, a spokeswoman for DHR. "If this was us, we would not disqualify someone from being a foster parent based on these circumstances."

Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy and the ACLU

I've been waiting for something like this from the ACLU (via Jihad Watch):
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Minnesota is suing Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TiZA) for allegedly crossing the line between religion and public education...
When will the ACLU turn its sights in the direction of public schools other than those of the charter type?

According to the above-cited article in the Star Tribune:
A federal judge said this week that witness intimidation by any party will not be tolerated in a lawsuit involving a charter school accused of illegally promoting Islam.

[...]

The ACLU argued that administrators at the Inver Grove Heights school have intimidated potential witnesses or tried to dissuade them from testifying about TiZA, and asked U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeanne Graham to issue an order protecting them.
Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy is a public school in Minnesota and is named after the general who led the invasion of Spain in 711. He is famous for having made the following declaration upon landing in Spain:
Oh my warriors, whither would you flee? Behind you is the sea, before you, the enemy. You have left now only the hope of your courage and your constancy. Remember that in this country you are more unfortunate than the orphan seated at the table of the avaricious master. Your enemy is before you, protected by an innumerable army; he has men in abundance, but you, as your only aid, have your own swords, and, as your only chance for life, such chance as you can snatch from the hands of your enemy. If the absolute want to which you are reduced is prolonged ever so little, if you delay to seize immediate success, your good fortune will vanish, and your enemies, whom your very presence has filled with fear, will take courage. Put far from you the disgrace from which you flee in dreams, and attack this monarch who has left his strongly fortified city to meet you. Here is a splendid opportunity to defeat him, if you will consent to expose yourselves freely to death. Do not believe that I desire to incite you to face dangers which I shall refuse to share with you. In the attack I myself will be in the fore, where the chance of life is always least.

Remember that if you suffer a few moments in patience, you will afterward enjoy supreme delight. Do not imagine that your fate can be separated from mine, and rest assured that if you fall, I shall perish with you, or avenge you. You have heard that in this country there are a large number of ravishingly beautiful Greek maidens, their graceful forms are draped in sumptuous gowns on which gleam pearls, coral, and purest gold, and they live in the palaces of royal kings. The Commander of True Believers, Alwalid, son of Abdalmelik, has chosen you for this attack from among all his Arab warriors; and he promises that you shall become his comrades and shall hold the rank of kings in this country. Such is his confidence in your intrepidity. The one fruit which he desires to obtain from your bravery is that the word of God shall be exalted in this country, and that the true religion shall be established here. The spoils will belong to yourselves.

Remember that I place myself in the front of this glorious charge which I exhort you to make. At the moment when the two armies meet hand to hand, you will see me, never doubt it, seeking out this Roderick, tyrant of his people, challenging him to combat, if God is willing. If I perish after this, I will have had at least the satisfaction of delivering you, and you will easily find among you an experienced hero, to whom you can confidently give the task of directing you. But should I fall before I reach to [Visigothic king] Roderick, redouble your ardor, force yourselves to the attack and achieve the conquest of this country, in depriving him of life. With him dead, his soldiers will no longer defy you.
Jihad!

Even The ACLU Objects To "Gitmo North"

From this at the ACLU web site:
"The Obama administration's announcement today contradicts everything the president has said about the need for America to return to leading with its values. American values do not contemplate disregarding our Constitution and skirting the criminal justice system. After detaining hundreds of individuals without the basic due process rights that define our justice system for almost eight years, it is time to charge suspects where evidence exists and repatriate and transfer the rest to countries where they won't be tortured."

It's Official: The Pentagon Has Met the Enemy and It Are Us

FOX is now reporting the following:

Pentagon Exam Calls Protests 'Low-Level Terrorism,' Angering Activists
Wednesday, June 17, 2009 By James Osborne

A written exam administered by the Pentagon labels "protests" as a form of “low-level terrorism” — enraging civil liberties advocates and activist groups who say it shows blatant disregard of the First Amendment.

The written exam, given as part of Department of Defense employees’ routine training, includes a multiple-choice question that asks:

“Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism?”
— Attacking the Pentagon
— IEDs
— Hate crimes against racial groups
— Protests
The correct answer, according to the exam, is "Protests."

“Its part of a pattern of equating dissent and protest with terrorism," said Ann Brick, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, which obtained a copy of the question after a Defense Department employee who was taking the test printed the screen on his or her computer terminal.

"It undermines the core constitutional values the Department of Defense is supposed to be defending,” Brick said, referring to the First Amendment right to peaceably assemble.

The Pentagon spokesman says he thinks this is from an exam intended for people stationed abroad. He doesn't say how "attacking the Pentagon" fits that particular spin. Maybe they could replace it with "Tea Parties".

There's lots more. Read it all.

The ACLU Advises Moslems

Not a surprise, of course.

Excerpt from this article in the LA Times:
May 29, 2008

A report that mosques in Los Angeles and San Diego are under federal surveillance has resurrected fears in the Muslim community about government monitoring and led two civil rights groups Wednesday to call for congressional hearings.

[...]

Corey Saylor, Washington spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said the article in the San Diego Union-Tribune "has again raised concerns that our community is being watched."

[...]

ACLU lawyers regularly go to mosques to advise worshipers that they do not have to answer questions from FBI agents about how long they have been in the United States, how often they attend services and what they get out of the sermons...
How many jihadomaniacs are hiding behind the ACLU's lawyers?

Crossposted at THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS , where Reliapundit comments as follows:
amazing: the aclu actually has an outreach program to teach disobedience and obfuscation to potential enemies.

this is treason.

at the very least, this is like a mob lawyer who advise his mafia clients on how to set up rackets in advance of doing crime.

lawyers are then not representing clients, but part of the criminal enterprise.

lawyers have done time for this, and the aclu should be busted for this.
