The Ground Zero Mosque Developer: Muslim Brotherhood Roots, Radical Dreams

From Alyssa Lappen, with thanks to Damien:

The prospective developer of a $100 million, 13-story mosque 600 feet from Ground Zero presents himself as a Muslim moderate (1). Yet Kuwait-born Faisal Abdul Rauf also boasts of his issue from an “Egyptian family steeped in religious scholarship(2). Indeed, Feisal Rauf’s Muslim Brotherhood provenance, radical by definition, is as authentic as it gets.
Rauf’s father, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rauf (1917-2004) — an Egyptian contemporary of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna — conveyed to Feisal his family’s long tradition of radicalism, which he acquired at Islam’s closest equivalent to the Vatican, Al-Azhar University. The elder Dr. Rauf studied and taught there before fleeing Egypt in 1948. That year, Feisal Abdul Rauf was born in Kuwait.
Feisal Rauf has planned for some time to further develop his father’s U.S. Islamic expansionism. In 1990, Rauf opened the tiny al-Farah Mosque at 245 West Broadway in lower Manhattan. Area residents did not even notice the mosque until 2006, when the New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) refused to license a new bar on the same block and started yanking others’ liquor licenses (3).
Rauf attended grammar school and high school in the UK and Malaysia, according to his biography. He probably first lived in America only in 1965, at age 17, when his father moved from Malaysia to New York to plan and head the Islamic Cultural Center (not built until the mid-1980s) (4). Rauf then obtained a BS in physics at Columbia University (5). In 1971, the family moved to Washington, D.C., where Rauf’s father headed the Islamic Center on Massachusetts Ave (6). His father, buried in Suitland, MD, at the for-profit Washington National Cemetery, also founded three Malaysian Islamic studies programs, including the International Islamic University of Malaysia (7).
Rauf’s early UK education and familiarization with American popular culture and values made him an acutely adept practitioner of Islamic taqiyya — deceptive speech and action to advance the interests and supremacy of Islam (8). To further that Islamic advancement, Rauf in 1997 established the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA). His Kashmir-born wife Daisy Kahn, an interior designer by profession, has run the organization since 2005 (9).

Ground Zero Mosque Imam Denies Muslim Involvement In 9/11

From the American Thinker:
The Imam of the Ground Zero Insult, Faisal Abdul Rauf, is not the nice guy he likes to hold himself out to be. At his Friday afternoon khutbah services and in his book What's Right With Islam Rauf states that he wants the mosque to be a place where inter-faith understanding is fostered. His sonorous voice is smooth and almost hypnotic. His writing style appears to be rational and unthreatening.

However, this does not jibe with the aspects of him that are downright hostile and frightening.

During a recent Friday sermon, this writer did due diligence as a mosque monitor and heard Rauf deny that Muslims perpetrated 9/11. In an interview with CNN shortly after 9/11, Rauf said, "U.S. policies were an accessory to the crime that happened. We [the U.S.] have been an accessory to a lot of innocent lives dying in the world. Osama bin Laden was made in the USA." Elsewhere, Rauf has stated that terrorism will end only when the West acknowledges the harm it has done to Muslims. And that it was Christians who started mass attacks on civilians.

911 Mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf Blames Christians: "The US and the West must acknowledge the harm they have done to Muslims before terrorism can end"

Chairman Of The Cordoba Initiative Comments On South Park Cartoonifada

From Revere Rides Again:
This mosque is being built by the enemy on our soil in a time of war. It is intended as an insult because it is in the nature of Islamists to build mosques upon the territory of their defeated enemies. They consider 9/11/01 a victory over us. They are celebrating that victory with this effing mosque.
From Total:
... to many Muslims I can imagine that this is the equivilent of the Marines raising the U.S. flag on Mt. Suribachi.

9/11 Firefighter opposes mosque at Ground Zero as "a Trojan horse rolled onto our most sacred ground", asks "Where is the money coming from?"

From Jawa:

A decision by a Lower Manhattan community board this week gives the go-ahead for a $100 million mosque to locate beside the Ground Zero site. But not everyone is happy with the decision, including those who survived the attacks and the families of those murdered by Islamic terrorists on 9/11.

In this Fox NY interview below on Thursday, 9/11 firefighter Tim Brown describes the mosque project as "a Trojan horse being rolled into our most sacred ground". He squared off with the mosque's imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf, asking whether any of the money for this mosque will be coming from the regimes of Islamic countries who have actively aided and financed Islamic terrorists, and where Rauf got the reported $4.85 million in cash to purchase the building, prompting profuse evasion and side-stepping by the imam.

Tim Brown is one of the few 9/11 survivors to survive the collapse of both WTC towers. He also a first responder to the 1993 WTC bombing by another group of Islamic terrorists. Here is his story on what happened on 9/11:

On the morning of Sept. 11th, Tim Brown had recently arrived at his office. Tim was working in a year and half long detail from FDNY’s Res3cue to the NYC Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) located in 7 World Trade, when the first plane struck the World Trade Center tower. He immediately responded to the command post set up in the lobby of WTC Tower One. After the 2nd plane struck, he was directed to WTC Tower Two. There he attempted to set up and maintain some type of command structure in the chaos of the lobby...

Just before the first collapse, Tim had exited the lobby of Tower 2 and gone across the street to gather up an EMS crew to assist the rescue efforts in the lobby of that tower. He was just re-entering the lobby with EMS when he heard the rumble and felt the earth move. Instinctively, he knew what was happening. He and the EMS crew scattered...

As one of the world’s tallest buildings collapsed all around him, Tim ducked into the first open door he could find, the doorway to the Tall Ships Restaurant at the WTC Marriott Hotel, located directly between the towers. There he found a substantial support beam, and held on for his life, as the 110 story building came crashing down around him. Everything went dark; the wind created by the collapsing structure blew off his helmet, his phones, and his pagers and lifted him off his feet. Then, as quickly as it began, it ended. Tim managed to escape through the debris to the street level, where he began to assist in searching for trapped members giving “mayday” calls heard over the radios...

As WTC Tower One collapsed, Tim was with the FDNY brass and city leaders at the northwest corner of the WTC complex. He, along with everyone else in lower Manhattan , ran for his life, again. Tim ran north. As the dust cloud began to overtake him, he saw two young women duck into an open door on a side street. They were kind enough to offer him refuge. There he also found a working phone.

13-Story Mosque To Be Built Two Blocks From WTC - Committee In Charge of Development Named After Seat of Islamic Caliphate In Spain

From Watcher:
Islam gets a foothold right near the place where some 3,000 people were killed in the name of Allah on September 11, 2001.
(NY Daily News) A proposal to build a mosque steps from Ground Zero received the support of a downtown committee despite some loved ones of 9/11 victims finding it offensive.

The 13-story mosque and Islamic cultural center was unanimously endorsed by the 12-member Community Board 1's financial district committee.

The $100 million project, called the Cordoba House, is proposed for the old Burlington Coat Factory building at Park Place and Broadway, just two blocks from the World Trade Center site.

"I think it will be a wonderful asset to the community," said committee Chairman Ro Sheffe.

Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf, who helped found the Cordoba Initiative following the 9/11 attacks, said the project is intended to foster better relations between the West and Muslims.

He said the glass-and-steel building would include a 500-seat performing arts venue, a swimming pool and a basketball court. "There's nothing like it," said Rauf, adding that facilities will be open to all New Yorkers.

Daisy Khan, executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement and a member of the Cordoba Initiative's board, said donations are being sought to pay for the construction.

Khan said the project has received little opposition.
Cordoba was the Seat of the Islamic Caliphate, and the location of the Grand Mosque.

This Mosque is named after the Seat of the Caliphate for a reason. I'm quite sure this "Ro Scheffe" shithead doesn't even know the fucking history.

Tthe dumb bitch who would sign away Western Civilization for a few beads of PC feel-goodiness.

Small Step For UK, Giant Leap For London

I thought I would put the latest local election results in perspective, especially for any non UK readers. The elections to the local councils are a step below the US Senate. The equivalent of the US Senate I understand to be our County Councils. Counties are our equivalent of states.

So the only thing the local elections do is show a trend. The trend is a move away from a Labour Government and a swing to the Conservatives. Don't hold your breath though, the Conservatives are only slightly to the right of Labour these days. On the plus side if they were to form the next government they could make a difference in various ways:

In opposition they have opposed or have said:

  • They will opt out of the Brussels Human Rights Act
  • Stiffer immigration controls
  • They opposed the EU Lisbon constitution treaty
  • They oppose the cult of multiculturalism

There will be more but that's all that springs to mind. Those four above are important enough to make some difference if not only a small step. In addition, Conservatives tend to be patriotic and support their country and culture especially amongst the grass roots. Those dyed in the wool Conservatives will not let the leadership betray us.

As for the giant leap, well, getting rid of Red Ken Livingstone is wonderful news, even for us non Londoners. Boris Johnson won the vote on the basis of the ordinary English people on the outer ring of London. Livingston won the inner ring on the back of ethnic votes. The Muslims in particular were told to vote for him. Anything that is good for the Muslims is bad for the rest of us so ,yes, that is a victory.

In the inner ring the ethnic English turned to the BNP because Livingstone’s Labour Party was ignoring them, too busy trying to secure the Muslim vote. As a result the BNP now have a representative on the London Assembly, in the name of Richard Barnbrook

It will be interesting to see if Boris Johnson supports the London Mega Mosque, the building of which is opposed by even moderate Muslims. The point is the tide has turned in London and may turn in the rest of the UK in a couple of years time when there is a general election.
My feeling is that Gordon Brown will not be able to recover from these defeats, because the electorate have a long list of issues that are pissing them off, issues that he is incapable of dealing with.
