No Prison Time For Chicago Woman, After She Pleads Guilty To Hate Crime In The Beating Of A Disabled Teen On Facebook Live

From the Chicago Tribune:

A Chicago woman who live-streamed video of the racially charged beating of a teen with mental disabilities pleaded guilty Friday to a hate crime and was sentenced to four years of probation. Brittany Covington, 19, has been in custody since her arrest in January. 

Calling the incident “horrific,” Cook County Circuit Judge William Hooks banned Covington from social media over the four years, prohibited her from contact with two of her co-defendants and ordered her to do 200 hours of community service. 

Hooks told Covington he could have imposed a prison sentence but added, “I’m not sure if I did that you’d be coming out any better.” 

Hooks said he hoped the strict terms of probation would put Covington on a more productive life path, but he warned she would face prison time if she violated any of the restrictions. 

“Do not mess this up,” Hooks told Covington, who stood quietly in a blue jail uniform with her hands clasped behind her back. 

The 19-year-old also pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and intimidation charges. 

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dropped additional charges, including kidnapping.

The victim, who prosecutors said has schizophrenia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, was able to flee the building when the four co-defendants left the apartment to confront neighbors who had complained about the noise, prosecutors have said.

The Cultural Road Ahead

This article was inspired by an IBA comment asking for some post-election thoughts.  Thanks IBA!!

Trump’s glorious win has rats scurrying all across Washington D.C.  But, it represents an opportunity rather than a mission accomplished. Cultural Marxist themes still permeate our culture, telling us that the US is evil and smashing it is noble. For Trump’s win to have a lasting impact, it must spearhead a cultural revolution.  But, how can we change our infected culture?

Inclusivity and exclusivity:

To increase our unity, we must counter the multicultural narrative that the West has no culture into which to assimilate.  We must reject the globalist narrative that all people’s are the same and the West is not special.  We are an English speaking, tough, individualistic, rights / duties, non-socialist prideful, Protestant Christian  / Enlightenment-based culture.  Our culture is complex.  Sometimes it is easier to define by exclusion, we’re not a Sharia-loving, Confucian, Spanish speaking nation.

Yet, note that this vision is not racially exclusive.  People of all races can learn English. And, our vision not being racist also implies white self-criticism.  Our slutty behavior and soaring divorce rates, based on ‘party values’ have got to be shamed again.  As Socrates and Jesus said, the soul is higher than the body.  As Washington argued, hedonistic louts cannot sustain a republic.  We must acknowledge we have a culture and it has standards to which people of all colors should aspire.

Yet the culturist truth is that assimilation has limits, sympathy with Sharia law is not compatible with loyalty to western laws.  Cultural diversity is real.  So we need to take naturalization loyalty oaths seriously again. Excluding other cultures does not mean we do not wish them well, it means we love ours enough to protect it.   And, again, more fundamentally, knowing some things are not-Western is the quick route to knowing the West has a specific culture to take pride in.

Pride in our history on a culturist basis:

To spread this vision, we need to rewrite our schools’ curriculum on a culturist basis; that is, we need to acknowledge the importance of culture to our history.  This will turn our history from a source of shame to a source of pride.  WW II Japanese relocation was not racist.  It was because cultural diversity can create divisions in loyalty.  Manifest destiny was not racist, it was culturist.  If Mexicans had populated the South West, it would be high-birthrate / low-education and poor like Mexico.  Our predecessors weren’t irrational.  Our historical success shows they enacted smart culturist policy.

He who controls the past controls the future.  To make America great again, we must teach that the West has long been great!  As culturist common sense dictates, we must inculcate cultural pride with culturist curriculum.  

But, inculcating pride cannot stop at the schoolyard gate.  We need to have new patriotic public celebrations and reinvigorate old ones with new pomp.  The 4^th of July must once again mean more than getting drunk and blowing things up.  We should sing the public anthem at more events and shame those who don’t.  That is not to say we need compulsion.  That would run against our mores.  But, events promoting pride in the American public are sorely needed.

Full Metal Jacket: The Culturist Implications

Here is my problem: I am promoting a culturist version of Darwinian literary studies and very few political activists see an urgent and vital connection between Darwinian literary studies and their patriotic cause.  Fortunately, Stanley Kubrick’s powerful Vietnam War film, Full Metal Jacket, makes the connection clear.

Kubrick’s film follows the career of one recruit ‘Joker’ (Matthew Bodine) go from boot camp to the war, wherein he works as a reporter / propagandist for the military newspaper.  In this position, Joker sardonically parodies the war. But, after the Tet offensive, the propaganda chief panics that newsman Walter Cronkite will go say the war is unwinnable.  At this point, the chief stops humoring Joker and sends him into combat.  

We all know how disagreement over the Vietnam War’s meaning tore up the United States.  But, we must also come to see the importance of narrative in current politics.  Black Lives Matter, foreign aid, and the resettling of refugees into the West are justified by a narrative that paints the West as having sins for which to atone.  These would all come to a halt if the publicly largely believed the West were a unique cultural gem that needed protection.

Famously, Full Metal Jacket portrays raw indoctrination in boot camp.  The opening shot shows the recruits getting their heads shaved: their old self is to die, so that they might be reborn.  The drill instructor then proceeds to call them ‘gay,’ ‘ladies,’ and ‘fat bodies,’ while mercilessly running them through drills and routines. This continues until the recruit called ‘fat body’ kills the drill instructor and himself.

Culturist Policy Article # 3 - Assimilation

Culturism (cǔl-chər-ǐz-əm) n. The philosophy, art, and science that values, promotes and protects majority cultures.

Culturist assimilation policy in a nutshell:

Whereas multiculturalism emphasizes diversity, and drives us apart, culturism emphasizes our unity.  Multiculturalism says the West has no core cultures into which to assimilate and calls all who promote assimilation ‘racist.’ Culturism affirms that western nations have wonderful core traditional cultures into which to assimilate. 

Immigration limitations:

Latin American and Islamic immigration to the West must stop now. For both groups, this forces a choice: here or there?  Additionally, if foreign peoples are the majority in an area, they will not assimilate to the wider country.  We must not grow already large immigrant communities.  

Possible repatriation:

A later article will detail repatriation policy.  Suffice it here to say that, in America, displays of ‘fealty to foreign potentates’ provide evidence that you perjured yourself during your naturalization proceedings: your adopted citizenship contract is thus null and void.

Criminalize Sharia law in the West:

Culturism affirms that the West has a core culture.  Sharia is not western.  Refusing to show your face during government proceedings and advocating public schools become halal, shows fealty to non-western ideals.  As such, (where legally possible), those advocating sharia law should have their citizenship revoked.

No dual citizenship:

Rather than convenience for individuals, ending dual citizenship is designed to create unity behind our Western nations and values.  It forces a choice of loyalties.

Education:

Western schools must teach that the West and western nations are the best.  Multiculturalism says all cultures are equally wonderful; this undermines schools’ ability to inculcate pride in western values and achievements.  We need culturist education.

Western festivals:

Local governments should celebrate western history and holidays.  While not requiring attendance, these celebrations provide an opportunity for new citizens to show public enthusiasm for their adopted nations. 

Conversely, our local and national governments and schools should not fund celebrations of other nations or their cultures.  Multiculturalists believe that Ramadan is just as western as Christmas.  Culturists disagree.  Our governments must not promote foreign cultures.

Flags and anthems and flags and anthems:

Fly a flag in front of your house, in banks and government offices.  Let’s have the anthem before films. Stand when it plays.  Let’s play our national anthems on television and radio.  Those who don’t want to stand should feel uncomfortable.

Culturist Fact: Birmingham is not British

People ask, “John, isn’t culturism just another vague ‘ism.’”  No.  Culturism is not metaphysical.  Cultures exist in heads and on land. This is measurable. That is why it is a culturist fact that much of Birmingham is no longer British.

Do a thought experiment with me: If all of the “British people” were killed (God-forbid) and the land we call Britain were entirely re-populated with Muslims (as in the attached video), would British culture still exist?  Would it linger in some eternal metaphysical realm?  NO!  It would be gone.

Cultures live in heads. And, these heads need land upon which to exist.  These are real items in real space.  When an area is Pakistani, it is no longer ‘also British’ in some metaphysical way. The area is Pakistani.

As of 2011, 13.48% of Birmingham was Pakistani. At the same time, white folks of British heritage, were 53.1% of Birmingham in 2011.  And, Indians were 6.02%.[i]  The Indians may identify with Britain.  Hindus have a long history with Britain. But their temples are non-British spaces. Details aside, the fact remains, much of Birmingham no longer primarily identifies with Britain, its history, traditions, songs, etc.

Now multiculturalists will tell you that everything is British: the Muslims marching in the attached video are just as British as Prince Charles and Monty Python. Shiva is a British God too. Everything is British and nothing is British.  As a culturist, I disagree.  British culture does exist.  Those in the shared video are not British.

From a culturist perspective, the attached video shows, large parts of Birmingham are no longer British, under British control, or a part of the British Isles.

The Culturist Battle in Ferguson

The U.S. is rightfully nervous about the battle in Ferguson: the shooting of Michael Brown, the retaliatory shooting of two police officers the shooter’s prosecution.  However, it is important that we know that the real battle is between two ways of defining America, because our nation’s fate depends upon which definition prevails. 

On one side we have the multicultural narrative.

Michael Brown’s supporters – and I include President Obama and his Administration in this category – see the Ferguson teenager’s death as proof that America is a racist nation that will never give “people of color” and other “historically under-represented minorities” a fair shake.  This narrative paints America as a source of oppression that must be fought.

On the other side, we have the patriotic narrative.

Our traditional patriotic narrative points to America as the New World, where innovation and freedom have led to the greatest expansion of wealth the planet has ever known. Here, with hard work, anyone can achieve their dreams. This narrative teaches us pride in our nation and challenges us to work hard in order to sustain and honor it.

If we continue to push the multicultural narrative, our nation will dissolve in race-based resentment.  If we can revive the patriotic narrative, we will be united, solvent and strong.

Since African-Americans are at the heart of the multicultural narrative, converting them to our narrative is key to winning this life-or-death debate.

A Challenge to Black Men as the NBA Finals End

I am struck by a paradox: 

In the National Basketball Association (NBA) we laud the competitive grit of black players.  Seven points down with two minutes left?  Blacks don’t give up!  Down 3 to 1 in the series?  Believe (as the old NBA campaign suggested)! FIGHT!  You can do it!!!

The paradox comes from comparing the Blacks’ never-say-die fighting attitude in the NBA to their constant victimization in social depictions.  High crime rates?  Blacks are victims of poverty.  Poor school performance?   Blacks are victims of hidden racism.  Just hints of name-calling, apparently, causes black men to fold. 

To illustrate the paradox, in 1950, Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton became the first black person to sign an NBA contract.  You never hear black people say, “We cannot compete in basketball because we were kept out of the NBA until 1949.”  But, we hear, “We can’t compete because we were kept out of white schools until the early 1960s,” all the time. 

Instead of toughness, on and off the court we get constant cry-baby reactions from blacks. “Waaaa!” They cry, “He used the N-Word!  Waaaa!   And we reply, “Oh. We feel your terrible pain widdle one. Do you want the government to punish the bad man who hurt your widdle feelings?  Can you stop crying now?  Is the ouchy better?”

Instead our reaction should be, “Shut the F up and grow a pair!!!! As on the court, don’t dwell on the unfair call from the last play. Stop crying get back to competing!!!! MAN UP!!!  And, while we’re on the subject blacks commit insane amounts of crime, parent irresponsibly, suck at school, and rely on the government to feed them way.  

The whining reply to the prior statements, “Mommy he was waaaaycist.” It is a sad little trick.  The above facts are not racist, they are culturist.  They’re not statements about your genes; they refer to how much of your culture sucks off the court.  These are not irrational bad calls, they are totally accurate depictions in the weakness of your off-court game.

So man-up black man! The Asians are dunking on you in the game of life. Hell, even the Latinos are stealing your balls! Don’t cry because I mentioned it.  Drink some testosterone, put on your big boy pants and start playing off the court with as much grit as you do on it.

Culturists Versus Racists

Yes, culturists versus racists: we who fight to save Western Civilization have to choose.   And, I think, those leaning towards racism are taking the West towards doom.  Feel free to argue – it is important that we are clear as to whether we are culturist or racist

Culturism says western nations have traditional majority cultures, and a right to guide, protect, and promote them.   Racism says the western nations are defined by being made of racially white people or groups of national races: The British race: the French race, etc.

Racists would like to make Britain white again.  The only way to do this is to deport non-whites.  But London, for example, is less than 50% white. As such racists will never win an election on the ‘deport non-whites’ platform.  As racists cannot push this policy democratically, their reasoning only leaves us the policy option of extra-legal violence that would devastate Britain: race war.   

Culturists would simply look to end Islamic immigration.  Hindus, a significant non-white minority population in Britain, have their own horrible history with Islam: as such they might vote to halt Islamic immigration.  Other minority victims of terrorism might also vote to limit Islamic immigration.  

Getting such votes would rely on proper education. Culturist curriculum would teach Hindus to love the Britain for modernizing India and Caribbean peoples to love Britain for stopping slavery.   Other minorities could get excited about belonging the nation that invented rights!    This could unite us, with pride, as we were before.  But we need culturist curriculum to reach this goal.  

Racists have no reason to promote this pro-western, educational assimilation agenda: After all, racists believe only whites make good Europeans and neither education, nor any other measure, can change peoples’ race.  No workable education policy stems from racism. 

Culturism is the opposite of multiculturalism.  As such, culturism can win rhetorical arguments because it stands on the truth of cultural diversity.   People believe cultural diversity is real and culturists can use statistics to logically prove it.  While they really don’t think it is real or important, multiculturalists do hype cultural diversity.  Given honor killings, we can beat them on their own turf when forcing them to discuss the reality of cultural diversity. 

Using the reality of cultural diversity, we can argue for reasonable culturist profiling.  A majority of Brits (even some Muslims) could understand and support the need for culturist profiling at airports.  When multiculturalists say, “It’s racist,” we can say, ‘No, it’s culturist; (note the word) and cultural diversity is real, is it not?” This will bring us back to our strong suit: cultural diversity.  Racism offers no comparable logical profiling position or rhetoric.

If multiculturalists say, “culturism is just racism,” note that culturist thought critiques white social pathologies as well.  For example, in Victorian times, whites’ out-of-wedlock birth rate went as low as 4%. It is now over 47.3% in the UK.  Such historical precedents give us hope.  It goes beyond racists’ stupid argument: ‘whites are good; non-whites, bad.’  Culturism isn’t just about minorities. Is this discussion racist?

Racists might reply, “But, look at minority pathology!  It is about race!!”  Yes, in the U.S., blacks’ out of wedlock birth rate is 72.3%.  But, from the 1930s to the 1950s it was around 12%.[i]  Yes, racists, that is higher than it was for whites then; but it is much lower than it is for whites now.  We can all do better. But, our genes have not radically mutated since the 1960s: it is not about race.  It is about culture.  Racism offers no solutions or hope; culturism does.

In place of divisive multiculturalism, culturism provides a purely positive angle that can unite us: celebrating British culture.  When we praise British culture, politicians must agree or make statements that will alienate voters.  When we celebrate western culture with WW II film screenings, art exhibits, historical parades, and such, politicians must attend or go on the defensive.  Racist events only justify politicians’ PC censorship and sanctimonious treason.  

Culturism offers hope of democratically stopping Islamic immigration; education reform; rhetoric with which to win debates with multiculturalists; reasonable policies such as culturist profiling; a way to discuss lowering social pathologies across all races; and fun events - and this is only a partial list!  Racism offers zero positive policy solutions.  As people cannot change their race, racism only offers disunity and race wars.  

We who defend Western Civilization should be clear that we are culturists, not racists. We culturists agree that racism is stupid and dangerous.   We get angry when called racists!  We offer culturism in place of multiculturalism because we love Western Civilization and diversity is real.  As such, we politely demand reasonable public policy debates on Islamic immigration and other topics. 

If you think the culturist policies futile, I look forward to hearing your potentially workable policy suggestions.  If you don’t have any, get to work!  Denounce racists!  Get the words ‘culturist’ and ‘culturism’ in the media, politicians’ mouths and popular conversation: Spread the words today!

Barack Obama's "America" Is For Special Interest Groups Only, White Men Need Not Apply

The President of "America" does not care about citizens in general, and he specifically does not particularly care for white people. 

He is a racist. He is now actively ostracizing an entire group of people (and a very large group of people at that) from the country he was elected to represent. 

Words fail me at this point. I will have more to say later.

Fresh off his reelection, President Barack Obama is asking his supporters to complete a survey that asks the people being polled to check off which “constituency groups” they identify with – there are 22 groups listed but not one for “whites” or “men.” 

The post-election survey, distributed through www.barackobama.com to “take this organization forward,” includes the question, “Which constituency groups do you identify yourself with? Select all that apply.” It then lists 22 groups. 

But whites and men are not on the list – women are, as are African Americans, Arab-Americans, Latinos and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender). 

Other “constituency groups” include “Educators,” “Environmentalists,” “Labor,” “Students,” “People with disabilities,” and “Youth.”

Dog Whistle Racism: He Who Hears The Whistle Is The Dog

"He said, 'Black people.' Waaahhcism! Waaahhcism!"

The problem isn’t that Tingles is willing to presume racism; the problem is that his presumption is irrebuttable, with subconscious racism the inevitable fallback presumption in cases like these when the accused protests vehemently enough. You’re guilty, even if you don’t know it. 

True. He always frames it as "have you stopped beating your wife?" and then talks over you as you try to make your point. And he's been doing it for decades. 

But here's a little value-add over and above cribbing from Allah via James Taranto's WSJ column today. It's a point that never seems to dawn on Tingles and the rest of the dog whistle crowd as we laugh at them. 

The thing we adore about these dog-whistle kerfuffles is that the people who react to the whistle always assume it's intended for somebody else. The whole point of the metaphor is that if you can hear the whistle, you're the dog.

Two of the people in the scenes shown are actors: The shop owner behind the counter and the head-covered Muslima coming in wanting to order a cappuccino. The rest are customers who just happen to be in the shop at the time and have no idea that a recording is being made with a hidden camera.

 

Answering Mr. Auster's Rebuttals

The following is a response to various replies Mr. Auster and his readers made at his blog, to my open letter to him.  Please go to his blog, and side with the culturists against the racists, in this lively and important debate.

I must apologize to Mr. Lawrence Auster in that in my open letter to him, I accused him of not paying attention to the decline of non-black culture.  Upon reading more of his postings, I find he does discuss culture quite a bit.  But, whereas he took umbrage at my calling him a racist, I do not retract this accusation; he consistently ties black crime and economic struggles to genetic propensities.  And, I used the word “accusation” because I consider his use of IQ to be false, disgusting, and destructive.

Mr. Auster and I agree on two premises: 1) We both wish to save the American nation.  2) And we agree that white guilt is the single greatest factor endangering our society.  For my part, I consider multiculturalism the largest manifestation of white guilt.  Spreading the words “culturism” and “culturist” to shore up western pride and jumpstart honest discussions of culture seem the best strategy for achieving our goal.

The Bell Curve itself tells us that most people are of average intelligence, that many blacks are smarter than whites, and total retardation is an outlier for both groups.  And as you admit, “traditional morality” could help raise black economic and educational achievement. As statistics from the 1950s prove, the black population is fully capable of maintaining marriage and crime rates that would make modern day whites jealous. The cultural lens provides proven potential for improvements.

You think convincing white America that race causes black failures will relieve white guilt. At best, the absolution your IQ focus can lead to is a collective “It is not our fault” from white Americans. But, do you think blacks and other American minorities will accept this argument?  No.  As it is to us with black loved-ones, your view is inherently offensive to blacks and other minorities. So your views necessarily lead to a permanent disconnect between groups of Americans.  Thus your goal of saving America is undercut by your very premises. 

Culturism, unlike multiculturalism, judges cultures and considers them important.  Both black and white Americans are concerned with our cultural decline.  Even if, as you argue, overall gaps will always persist, America’s mobility means so many blacks will be successful as to reinforce our traditional notion of merit.  From an individual merit perspective, that critiques cultures, no white guilt exists.

You have accused me of ducking “truth.”  Your truth offers no workable solutions and the division it necessarily creates is ruinous to America.  Would you hold on to your offensive “truth” at the cost of undermining dooming America?  You say that fear of being marginalized doesn’t enter into your thinking.  Unfortunately your vantage point marginalizes all of us who worry about Islam and immigration. To the extent that it justifies multiculturalists calling us racist, your reasoning weakens us and perpetuates the white guilt model. 

Your continued denunciation of the multicultural media would be helpful if you explained that their fear of discussing race comes from their confusing race and culture; Media might discuss culture while it won’t consider race.  By using our traditional American culturist ideals of pride in America, pro-social values, and individual merit, your work could inspire all races to improve themselves.  Your posts could help popularize culturism as an antidote to multiculturalism.  As it is, your IQ arguments just harm us all.
