Danish support for Ahmadinejad or not...

A Danish group of artists have given their support to Ahmadinejad. They have spent effort to get the following ad into the Tehran Times, a goverment controlled Iranian newspaper in English. It had to pass the censorship.

The ad was published as above.

But try to read the first letter of each statement.

Exactly. Wonderful isn't?! They actually managed to make fun of the Iranian Hitler wanna be at home. This is ridicule of the highest order. And it is giving me some ideas. Hmmh.

I look forward to the upcoming crisis. Denmark is already the second most hated Western country (Israel is #1), so it can't get any worse.

Financing Hizballah - Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil - right wingnut paranoia?

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration has slapped sanctions on a Hizbullah network operating in the tri-border area of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.
tri_border.jpg

The network raised more than $500,000 for Hizbullah from Lebanese businessmen in the tri-border region, officials said. Hizbullah maintained a network of agents in the South American countries to identify contributors and collect funds.

On Dec. 6, the Treasury Department said nine people and two entities would be sanctioned and their U.S. assets frozen. The entities consisted of a shopping center in Paraguay and an electronics company.

SHOPPING CENTER?

Officials said the nine assisted Assad Ahmad Barakat, a Hizbullah supporter and owner of Casa Hamze. The electronics store was reportedly used for arms, drugs and counterfeit U.S. currency trafficking.

Nothing to see here ! Move along !

Galactic moron compares brit govt to nazis...asks...

"What is the degree of xenophobia that tipped Germany in the 1930s towards a murderous ethnic and cultural racism?"

COMEDY GOES ON bari.jpg

Ministers compared to Nazis over Islam stigma

A senior Muslim invoked Hitler's 1930s Nazi regime while attacking the Government over its treatment of British Muslims. Muhammed Abdul Bari accused ministers of stigmatising Britain's Islamic community and fuelling xenophobia.

Mr Bari, the head of the Muslim Council of Britain, criticised the Government for "unfairly targeting" Muslims, and said that it was undermining their status as "equal citizens".

He warned that blaming extremism on "a small, largely deprived community" leads to a "deterioration of community cohesion and fuels xenophobia".

In a presentation to MPs, Mr Bari went so far as to ask: "What is the degree of xenophobia that tipped Germany in the 1930s towards a murderous ethnic and cultural racism?"His comments have drawn criticism from Jewish leaders, angry at what they believe is a "crass" comparison.

Jon Benjamin, the chief executive of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, said: "To try to recast modern Britain as equivalent to Nazi Germany is equally offensive and disingenuous, but also dangerous in that it will fuel alienation and anger, particularly at a time when conciliation is vital."

Ah yes the Muslim Council of Britain, which in the wake of the bombings of 7/7 issued this condemnation of mass murder which makes us all recognize there is nothing to worry over...

Lovely Islamic "Information" Site From Britain

Ahh, www.islamicinvitationcentre.com, how little we've known each other.

"If the West is commiting genocide athe(sic) muslims, then why did the West help muslims in Bosnia?

The benevolent Americans tried to save the Muslims in Bosnia. First thing was they armed the Serbs heavily with heavy weapons. Then imposing an arms embargo on the Muslims leaving them totally defenceless. Eventually, the Serbs surrounded the Muslims, took the UN soldiers hostage, and massacred 8000 Muslims, while the UN was busy trying to figure out their procedures for launching air strikes to protect the Muslims. For some strange reason the UN could not be mobilised as quickly as it did over Iraq. Never mind, eventually the American forces launched some nominal bombing strikes, and claimed to have saved the remaining Muslims, that is, after 200,000 were slaughtered and an estimated 50,000 women were systematically tortured in Serb rape camps. So a big thank you to the saviours, who fed us to be slaughtered, but would not allow us to defend ourselves."

Boy, are the folks at THIS organization bitter and deranged. But hey, they have audio, absurd Q & As and even Dr. Ingrid Mattson (formerly of the ISNA) in their "female speakers" list. Yes, they designate their speakers by sex. And just check out their explanation of suicide bombers

Of course, the punchline is that it's all the fault of......guess who......the JEWS!!

"Q: Why do muslims hate Jews?
A: We don't! A Muslim cannot be a Muslim without believing in Moses. Rather its the Jews that hate muslims. "

Well, always good to be aware of these little organizations. Or perhaps big. I'll look into them more a bit later. Cross-posted at a "hate blog" near you.

Time for the PalArabs to step up. But they won't.

Columnists and editorialists and pundits are hand-wringing about what can be done to stop the violence in Gaza.

Should the West prop up Abbas? Should Israel? Should an international force be sent there? Should we forget the sanctions?

The problem is that there is a solution, but the world has created an environment where that solution will never occur.

Let's look a bit north. Despite Lebanon's problems, it has a strong amount of power from its citizens themselves. Notwithstanding the more recent setbacks, the Cedar Revolution proves that. Hezbollah might be flexing its muscles but the majority of Lebanese will not ever accept their rule.

What needs to happen in Gaza is something similar, and it will never happen. The reason is because the international community has never treated Palestinian Arabs like adults who can act responsibly, and as a result they are a group of whiners and babies.

Rather than blame PalArabs for their support for terror, the West tends to blame Israel (the only "adult" in the region.) Over decades, this lesson takes hold, and now we have a welfare state of millions of people who cannot and will not act like they have any responsibility whatsoever.

The pundits and politicians today keep this self-perpetuating and self-fulfilling myth alive by looking everywhere for a solution rather than the people themselves. And after so many years of learning that all of their problems are Israel's (and America's) fault, the Palestinian Arabs are ready to play their part as perpetual victims to the hilt - and let any chance for a real nation, and real peace, go down the drain. Again.

So while the PalArabs have the lion's share of the responsibility for the situation they're in, the world's coddling of their support of terror and their acting like helpless children with RPGs is in no small part responsible for the situation as well.

Any teacher or parent can tell you that a child will act how they are treated, and the same is true with adults. If you treat the kid as an adult, they will mature much faster. If you spoil them, they will remain that way as well. People will usually take on the roles that others assign them, which is why so many revert to acting like children when visiting their parents.

Like it or not, the world has acted as if Palestinian Arabs are nothing more than spoiled children who cannot be expected to do anything about their situation. And that's a major reason that they are.

Potentially A Great Generation

For December 7, 2006, the 65th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, LGF had the thread Anniversary of Another War, as well as a thread pointing to a Cox & Forkum cartoon, Then and Now. In both threads, the commenters are agreed in their depression over the contrast between the American fortitude and tenacity of 65 years ago and the current state just five years after an attack on a greater number of American civilians. I too agree on the contrast and the shadow it casts upon our times; however, I do not agree in writing this generation off as lost. There is today a lost generation, but it is a generation which we have long known to be so, while the coming generation, the generation that will probably tasked with the trials of World War III, has yet to be known, to fulfill its potential.

Canada PM Harper staying the course in Afghanistan

Canadian Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper draws a line in the sand today, about his government's commitment to fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan. No poll watcher he!
God Bless Harper for his moral clarity: I still have to pinch myself when I read statements such as these from an actual Canadian politician, let alone one governing our nation:

OTTAWA - Stephen Harper says he could not live with himself if he reduced Canada's military mission in Afghanistan to further his own political self-interest and that he is prepared to lose the next election if it means standing by the military.

Dozens of soldiers have died in combat in Afghanistan, and the opposition parties have insisted the government put less emphasis on the military's combat mission in that country -- with the Bloc Quebecois hinting it might try to topple the government over the issue in Parliament this winter.
But Mr. Harper told CanWest News Service in an interview such political pressure will have no influence on his decisions.
...
"If ultimately I were brought down on that, and even defeated on that, I can live with myself. I could not live with myself making a decision on Canada's role in the world and our strategic and defence interests if I knew I had done that for political reasons that were the wrong reasons. That I could not live with."
Mr. Harper said what does influence him is the notion the Canadian soldiers who have lost their lives in Afghanistan should not have died in vain.
"The most difficult part of the job I have is phoning every single Canadian family when there is a loss and talking to them," the Prime Minister said.
"And I have to tell you that what they ask of me, in almost every case, is their assurance that the government will not, because of political pressure, abandon a mission that their sons and daughters believed in and were prepared to give their lives for."

In recent months, public opinion polls have shown Canadians are divided over whether this country's soldiers should be in Afghanistan, where our troops are set to serve until February, 2009.
Some critics have said Canada is not doing enough to assist the Afghan people through humanitarian programs and development assistance, and that instead, this country's approach has become too warlike and is not following decades of work as international peacekeepers.
But the Prime Minister rejected that analysis, saying Canada has an "aggressive military history" in two world wars.
"But Afghanistan is a unique mission. It's neither war nor peace-keeping. It's a security operation that involves pretty direct combat with the enemy."
Mr. Harper said he understands the New Democrat Party's position -- that Canada should not have sent its troops to Afghanistan and should withdraw now -- better than any of his political opponents because at least this party has been consistent. But he suggested he has less time for the two other parties.
"The Liberals and the Bloc tell me: rebalance the mission. What does that mean? I mean, what the hell does that mean?"
"We've got guys there, they're in the most dangerous province in the country. Yes, we're trying to do development and humanitarian assistance and we're doing that. But the fact of the matter is that they've got guys shooting at them. And they've got the most concentrated group of enemy combatants right there. It isn't an option to cut down the military side of the operation. They have to do what is necessary to protect the local people and protect themselves. And nothing less."
Mr. Harper said it would be "completely irresponsible" to reduce Canada's military mission in Afghanistan.
"If other parties want to go to the people and take that position -- 'We'd leave them there but we'd tell them not to defend themselves' -- let them explain that to the Canadian people."

Four Hamas "lawmakers" in Jerusalem lose residential status

Some good news from the Jerusalem Post:
Interior Ministry Roni Bar-On stripped three Hamas legislators and a Hamas minister of their Israeli residency status, even though they live in east Jerusalem, because they refused to resign from their political posts, the state told the High Court of Justice on Wednesday.

The statement came in the context of the state's reply to a petition submitted by the four Hamas representatives demanding that their status as Israeli residents be reinstated. The four were legislators Muhammad Abu Tir, Ahmed Abu Atoun and Khaled Abu Arafa, as well as Minister for Jerusalem Affairs in the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Tota.

From the moment their residency status was withdrawn, the four residents automatically became "illegal sojourners" who could be expelled from the city. However, on June 29, three of the four were arrested and jailed along with dozens of other Hamas legislators, PA ministers and activists living in the West Bank, following the kidnapping of Cpl. Gilad Shalit.
Those Hamas fiends should be kicked out of Israel altogether. I think Abu Tir is the one with the red hair, even the beard. If you think it looks bizarre, you're quite right; it most certainly does.

Storm Track Appeasement: Bone Head Scheme of the Year

How do you make Americans feels less sensitive to Muslims? The Virginia Interfaith Center has a solution. And with it they win the bonehead award of the year.

The AP is reporting that a program operating near Richmond sponsored by the Virginia Interfaith Center is raising eyebrows and causing some members of the citizenry to worry that secret Terrorist messages are being left across the city.

RICHMOND, Virginia: The small beige signs bearing black Arabic script have been appearing all over town on buses and at colleges. Are they secret messages from terrorists? one panicked bus rider asked. Should the FBI be contacted? What do they mean? Actual translation: "Paper or plastic?"

Why the signs?

The signs, which below the Arabic script carry English translations and comments that indirectly caution against jumping to conclusions, are part of a campaign by A More Perfect Union, a program of the Virginia Interfaith Center, and are aimed at dispelling some of the public's fears toward the Muslim community. Organizers hope to eventually expand the program statewide. "As people see Arabic, they immediately make an association with terrorism," said the Rev. C. Douglas Smith. "That's probably because since Nine-Eleven, not only is fear overwhelming us, but that's how we're being trained to think."
Notice the Reverend’s choice of words – training. I wonder who he thinks is responsible for ‘training’ us - surely not the radical Muslims.

Along with the "paper or plastic" sign, there are two others — one which is the Arabic version of the "I'm a little tea pot" rhyme and the other roughly translating to the English equivalent of "rock, paper, scissors." Accompanying the translations at the bottom of the posters are comments such as, "Misunderstanding can make anything scary," and "What did you think it said?"The signs were placed in all 170 Greater Richmond Transit Company buses in Richmond on Nov. 27 and will remain there through the end of December, though many buses will continue to display them at least through the end of January. The signs, designed by The Martin Agency, have also been posted at the University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University.
The response from the public?
