Prominent Republican Defecting: The Democratic Party is "being taken over by the moveon.org types"

Democrats are starting to say, in large numbers, what I started to say back in 2004 when I started blogging:

The Democratic Party left me. I did not leave the Democratic Party.

From Punditarian at the Astute Bloggers:

A Newsweek exclusive:

John Coale, a prominent Washington lawyer, husband of Fox TV host Greta Van Susteren and a supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, announced today that he was supporting John McCain for president.

Coale, who traveled with Sen. Clinton, President Clinton and her family through out the primary season, complained of sexism, and said the Democratic Party is "being taken over by the moveon.org types" in an exclusive interview with Newsweek.com's Tammy Haddad.

More than a few mainstream Democrats are going to do the same, and if the "moveon.org types" remain in control, the shift might be permanent.

It certainly seems to have become all but permanent for me.

Defending The Indefensible

Moslems excel at defending barbarism.

From the August 31, 2008 edition of the Washington Post comes this buried item:
PAKISTAN

Honor Killings Defended

A Pakistani lawmaker defended a decision by southwestern tribesmen to bury five women alive because they wanted to choose their own husbands, telling stunned members of Parliament to spare him their outrage.

"These are centuries-old traditions, and I will continue to defend them," Israr Ullah Zehri, who represents Baluchistan province, said Saturday. "Only those who indulge in immoral acts should be afraid."

The women, three of whom were teenagers, were first shot and then thrown into a ditch.

They were still breathing as their bodies were covered with rocks and mud, according to news reports and human rights activists.
Okay, so maybe there are news reports out there in the mainstream media, and maybe human rights activists are outraged.

But the story gets nil coverage on the evening news.

Why is that? Where is the outcry?

Can't you imagine the coverage were such barabarity practiced and defended by Jews or Christians, particularly those in a political position?

Islam: Stuck in the Seventh Century. And Islam will continue to be stuck there as long as the mainstream media ignore such stories and continue the whitewash of Islam.

Australia: Terror Warning For US Flights

What is it Australia knows that the American citizenry doesn't know?

From the Australian:

AUSTRALIA today warned of a "high risk" of terror attacks on domestic and international flights in and to the United States, urging citizens to be vigilant while in the country.

"We advise you to exercise caution and monitor developments that might affect your safety in the United States because of the risk of terrorism,'' the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a travel advisory.

The department urged travellers to monitor the media for information about possible new security threats.

"The United States Department of Homeland Security's Advisory System Threat Level is at Orange for all domestic and international flights, indicating a 'high' risk of terrorist attack,'' it said.

"It is at Yellow or 'elevated' for all other sectors, indicating a significant risk of terrorist attack.''

Dutch Intelligence: 'US to strike Iran in coming weeks'

I hope they're right. I think they are wrong.

From the Jerusalem Post:

The Dutch intelligence service, the AIVD, has called off an operation aimed at infiltrating and sabotaging Iran's weapons industry due to an assessment that a US attack on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program is imminent, according to a report in the country's De Telegraaf newspaper on Friday.

The report claimed that the Dutch operation had been "extremely successful," and had been stopped because the US military was planning to hit targets that were "connected with the Dutch espionage action."

The impending air-strike on Iran was to be carried out by unmanned aircraft "within weeks," the report claimed, quoting "well placed" sources.

The Jerusalem Post could not confirm the De Telegraaf report.

According to the report, information gleaned from the AIVD's operation in Iran has provided several of the targets that are to be attacked in the strike, including "parts for missiles and launching equipment."

"Information from the AIVD operation has been shared in recent years with the CIA," the report said.

On Saturday, Iran's Deputy Chief of Staff General Masoud Jazayeri warned that should the United States or Israel attack Iran, it would be the start of another World War.

Hah! Jazayeri and whose army?

Joe Biden Can Suck My Giant Infidel *#@k

UPDATED AT BOTTOM OF POST!

But Pastorius, how do you expect me to do that? It's, like, this freaking big around!

Biden quoted as saying that Israel will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran

(hat tip to Babba)

Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden was quoted Monday as telling senior Israeli officials behind closed doors that the Jewish state will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran.

Biden, chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has long been considered strongly pro-Israel.

In the unsourced report, Army Radio also quoted Biden as saying that he opposed "opening a additional military and diplomatic front."

He can open an additional diplomatic front by servicing me. Down on your knees, Biden.

UPDATE:

THIS IS SPARTA (ISRAEL)!

UPDATE:

Biden spokesperson David Wade says this report is false.

Biden spox David Wade said the unsourced report is simply false.

“This is a lie peddled by partisan opponents of Senators Obama and Biden,” said Wade, “and we will not tolerate anyone questioning Senator Biden’s 35-year record of standing up for the security of Israel. Joe Biden’s first trip as a Senator was to Israel, he has worked with every Israeli leader from Golda Meir to Prime Minister Olmert, and he takes a back seat to no one when it comes to protecting the relationship between Israel and the US.”

Somalian Struggle Against Jihad In Kenya

From the BBC:

In a secluded house just outside the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, a group of men and women meet at least once a week to worship in secret.

Their prayer session is simple and conducted in Somali. Elders take turns to pray or read verses from the Somali bible before a sermon is delivered.

There are dozens of Somalis living in Nairobi who have converted from Islam to Christianity. Some say they have been practising Christianity for more than 10 years.

But they live in constant fear of persecution from members of the Somali community, which is predominantly Muslim.

There is a sizeable Somali community in Kenya, comprising ethnic Somali Kenyans, and a large number of refugees from Somalia.

Most of the community lives in Nairobi's Eastleigh Estate, which is now referred to as Little Mogadishu, after Somalia's capital.

Many of the refugees fled the war in Somalia.

For a few, it was the threat of religious persecution that forced them to leave their homes and seek refuge in Kenya.

"There was a group of people who wanted to kill me, so I was one of the first refugees to leave Mogadishu because I knew I would be a target as soon as the government collapsed," says Michael, one of the converts.

"The fundamentalists could easily attack me and kill me," he says.
Some of his fellow converts were not so lucky.

"They killed some of my friends. There was a small fellowship that used to meet in my house, about 12 of them, six of them were killed," he says.

Despite fleeing to Kenya, where Christianity is the major religion, life has still not improved for the Somali Christians.

They say they have suffered at the hands of their families and fellow Somalis in Kenya who are angry with their decision to change their religion.

They have been targets of physical attacks and beatings. In other instances, they have had their wives and children taken away from them.
Outcasts

To ward off these reprisal attacks, many hold on to their Muslim names in an attempt to blend in.

Away from home and rejected by their community, the converts say they have been forced to live as outcasts.

The Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) has rejected claims that the Somali Christians are facing persecution.

As bad as that is, the Somalis living in Kenya have it easy compared to the Christians of Sudan. In Sudan, the Arab government which rules over the black Africans who are native to the land, has systematically killed almost 2.5 black Christians and Animists in the past 24 years.

And yet, somehow, our Christian churches manage to avoid talking about the Jihad which is being waged against Christians all over the world. I don't know about you, but I don't remember my Pastor ever once explaining that apostasy is punishable by death in Islam, and that Muslims are required to wage Jihad against those who will not bow to Allah. And, that the result of these commandments is the death of Christians and Jews - as well as people of other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism - all over the planet.

I would swear that, if the Christian church would simply tell the truth about this horrific problem, everyday Christians would come to recognize the threat and some political pressure could be brought to bear which would benefit the people of Sudan, whom we all claim to care about.

Is it too much to ask that Christian Pastors actually dip their toes into these "political" waters? Would Jesus have shut his mouth in the face of a Jihad being waged against His people. Would Jesus have turned his face away while men are being killed, women are being forced into sexual slavery, and the children are being sold off as slaves?

Yeah, I doubt it.

Guess who financed those 'blockade busting' ships

Money is a commodity. One dollar is the same as another. Money is what economists refer to as a "highly fungible commodity." In Thursday's JPost (my apologies for holding this for so long, but it's been kind of busy here...), Dan Kosky of NGO Monitor looks into the financing of what he calls the 'ship of fools' that sailed into Gaza City last week.
Free Gaza is a coalition of several groups, including the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), Israel Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR). ISM has a shameful record of placing foreign nationals in danger through encouraging "direct action," most recently as a leading force in the violent protests against the security barrier at Ni'lin. In 2003, ISM's ideology was underscored when terrorists, originating from the UK, used ISM as a cover to attack the Mike's Place bar in Tel Aviv, murdering three people. As part of Free Gaza, ISM attempts to veil its extremism beneath the cause of humanitarian aid.

Less notorious although no less pernicious are the activities of ICAHD. Manipulating the language of human rights to promote a similar ideological agenda, ICAHD refers to Israel as an "apartheid" state and promotes anti-Israel boycotts. ICAHD's director, Jeff Halper has been one of Free Gaza's leading spokesmen.

WORRYINGLY, SEVERAL European governments are hoodwinked by the "humanitarian" agenda of radical NGOs, allocating them significant funds. The European Union, under its Partnership for Peace program, awarded ICAHD a two-year grant of 473,000 euros in 2005, comprising the majority of ICAHD's 2006 annual budget. Recently the Spanish government too deemed ICAHD a worthy recipient of its funds. Meanwhile, another Free Gaza member, PCHR, receives funding from the Danish, Norwegian and Irish governments.

The EU and others argue that their funds are directed to specific projects, rather than organizations in their entirety. But, European government backing affords significant legitimacy to these NGOs and their politicized agendas, in which they too are implicated. The exploits of Free Gaza, Halper and his cohorts come with a European stamp of approval. European governments have, perhaps unwittingly, placed themselves in the midst of a stunt orchestrated by extreme groups and endorsed by Hamas.
One of the ships returned to Cyprus at the end of last week, apparently with several Gazans on board.
The Palestinians on board included a father and his 16-year-old son, who hopes to be fitted with an artificial leg abroad. The activists earlier claimed they would also take with them Palestinian students who were denied exit from Gaza on security grounds. The activists assert Israel does not have the right to prevent the exit of Palestinians from the Strip.

...

Hawida Araf, a law professor at al-Quds University and one of activists who sailed to Gaza, told Ynet that she and her group are prepared for the possibility of Israel forcibly preventing their journey. "They have no other way to keep us from leaving here with Palestinians who have already received visas and who have been accepted into European schools. It is their right," she said.

The activists said they waited for an answer from Cypriot authorities, as some of the Palestinians do not have entry visas to the country.
For those who don't remember who Hawaida Araf is, she is a 'Palestinian' who lives in the Detroit area and is married to a despicable excuse for a Jew named Adam Shapiro. Shapiro, who had breakfast with Yasser Arafat in his surrounded Mukhata several years ago, also sought human shields to protect Hezbullah terrorists in south Lebanon in addition to founding the International Solidarity Movement along with Araf.

Iran begins planting mines in the Gulf

Gertz:
ABU DHABI -- Iran has upgraded preparations for war which have included threats of retaliation against the world's oil supply.

Gulf Arab officials said Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps has been planting mines in the Gulf. The officials said most of the mines were placed in Iran's territorial waters.

"This is a clear message by Iran that it is preparing for war," a Kuwaiti defense official said.

Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak, right, watches military exercises with Army chief Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, left, in the Golan Heights on Aug. 12. The United States is at present opposed to any Israeli military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, Barak said on Aug. 27. AFP/IDM
Iran has repeatedly threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz. Teheran has also warned that it would target Gulf Cooperation Council states in any retaliation for a U.S. attack.

Officials said the U.S. Navy and its Western allies plan to deploy at least one additional strike carrier group in the Gulf. They said the carrier group was expected to arrive in the Gulf by mid-September.

Officials said the U.S. Navy has been monitoring Iranian mining of the Gulf. So far, they said, the mining has not significantly hampered U.S. or other naval vessels.

In late 2007 and early 2008, IRGC confronted U.S. Navy vessels around the Strait of Hormuz, passage for more than 30 percent of global oil shipments. The United States has not reported such a confrontation since April 2008.

"Merely talking about such a closure [of the Strait of Hormuz] creates a state of tension and will raise the insurance costs on vessels passing through," Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Mohammed Al Salem Al Sabah said. "We are now paying additional shipping costs because of an [Iranian] statement, which may be a trial balloon or a war of words."

Over the last two years, Iran has increased exercises and maneuvers in the Gulf. In July 2008, IRGC was said to have arrested a Kuwaiti national during an Iranian naval exercise. Iran has since denied holding the Kuwaiti.

Politics is the result of what happens on the battlefield

GERTZ:

Iran still arming Mahdi Army in Iraq

A report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies said Iran continued to supply weapons to Shi'ite militias in Iraq. The report, authored by former Defense Department official Anthony Cordesman, said Iran has focused its support on the Mahdi Army, led by Shi'ite cleric Muqtada Sadr.

"Iranian involvement remains a key issue, and one with many uncertainties," the report, titled "Sadr and the Mahdi Army: Evolution, Capabilities and a New Direction," said. "Iran seems to be trying to find a careful balance between retaining influence over Sadr and the JAM [Mahdi Army] and working with the Iraqi government and other Shi'ite parties. Iran seems to have played an important role in both the Sadr ceasefire in Basra and in Sadr City, but some of the most lethal technology used in IEDs [improvised explosve devices], components for shaped charges, came from Iran."

They are preparing for day 1 of the US being out. Iraq is to be a new Ossetia

The report, dated Aug. 4, said Iran has been supplying rockets, mortars, explosively-formed projectiles and other weapons to Shi'ite militias. CSIS said the Mahdi Army, believed to have up to 40,000 fighters, contains Iranian advisers in an effort to model the militia after the Lebanese-based Hizbullah.

"The JAM certainly has some capability for paramilitary combat and urban warfare, but it is scarcely a well-organized, well disciplined, or capable force," the report said. "Muqtada Sadr and the Mahdi Army appear to have suffered significant losses in the course of 2008, but they remain the biggest Shi'ite threat to both the Iraqi government and the U.S.-led coalition."

Meanwhile Sistani says any US presence long term would violate Sharia.

Cordesman raised the prospect that Sadr has used so-called splinters of the Mahdi Army to attack the U.S.-led coalition. The report cited the Special Groups, whose attacks appear coordinated with the Mahdi Army and Iran.

"In spite of their limits and lack of practical combat experience the Mahdi Army and the Special Groups have been effective in using asymmetrical warfare in a number of past battles, and they remain the largest and most dangerous Shi'a militia in Iraq," the report said. "Their ability to adapt to military tactics and technological advancements has put further stress on the U.S. military both financially and mentally, and their ability to develop and/or employ devastating weapon systems has been a serious problem."

The Mahdi Army was said to be equipped with AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifles, sniper rifles, grenades, rocket-propelled grenades, bombs, mortars and Katyusha rockets. The report said Mahdi has increased the size of its bombs to overcome the U.S.-origin Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle.

The U.S. military has already overseen development of a new prototype, MRAP-2. At the same time, Shi'ite militias have also decreased their use of EFPs by 70 percent since May 2008.

This has to end with a force field. No, really. Every up armoring in size and technology will only instill the development of larger IED's

The Mahdi Army has also been using the Improvised Rocket Assisted Mortar, also known as flying IEDs. IRAMs have been described as propane tanks packed with explosives, which use Iranian-origin 107 mm rocket charges. They have been launched from small trucks and fired in multiples of four to nine rockets by using cell phone signals or timers.

"There is a growing concern of weapon technology being transferred from Iran to Shi'a militias," the report said. "The use of these weapons has given the JAM a political impact much larger than its military impact."

Palin attacks continue, the left and NOW THE MSM make Lee Atwater look like the guy who created, POP-POP-FIZ-FIZ

During his time Lee Atwater was reviled by the democratic party because THEY CLAIM he had the nerve to claim Kitty Dukakis once burned an american flag at a protest (the worst we can say is that there is no proff he did that). What he did do, however, was Willie Horton.

Oh, the horror, imagine using a true item.

Today however, the democratic party and MSM are making that stuff look like offhand comments at a cocktail party.

The "Sarah Palin's baby is really her grandchild" story persists, and now we have CNN's John Roberts 'wondering' aloud how the governor would be able to care for her disabled child if elected. I wonder where his O button is. I wonder if someone who obviously doubts the ability of a working person to care for children, has the fortitude to be some kind of father. What a farce!

Moveon has OFFICIALLY backed untruths. The easily debunked Buchanan rumor, and promulgated a story originating with Media Matters (I know, I know ) that Palin vetoed a gay rights bill (She vetoed a bill which would BAN benefits for partners of gay people, a bill, BTW, passed by the republican legislature). This took about a minute to debunk with the original local news story -- so what is up with BOTH Moveon, and Media Matters? The latter even claims to be debunking an INCORRECT AP STORY !! Could it be that they quote each other because the truth will not serve? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !

And....
Fox News anchor Alan Colmes, of Hannity & Colmes, titled a recent post on his blog Liberaland "Did Palin Take Proper PreNatal Care?" In it, he wondered if she somehow was at fault for having a disabled child. Colmes took down the post after being attacked by the blog Wizbang and later reposted a screenshot of the blog to prove he "wasn't running away from what I posted."
Alan, I really thought more of you.

What's amazing is that there are two points to hit with, and they are real. She believes creationism should be taught along with Darwin ...sorry, but school is a place to teach iron hard science, not a fanciful relgious ideal.
Her statement on this during the run for Gov:

"I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

She added that, if elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add such creation-based alternatives to the state's required curriculum.

Her abortion stance (as I know it), though she walks the walk, is simply unworkable. Abortions simply will never stop. The proof of this is the vast incomprehensibly large availability of birth control, and the continuance of of pregnancies which then are aborted. However, her stance on gay rights, despite any personal feelings (and I don't know what they are), should reassure voters that to Sarah Palin the govt is a place of laws, not men (or women).

But, you know, if that's the ball game for the democrats going after her, they are in lot of trouble with this lady.

She won't be in favor of any giving $200 million dollars to Iran a month after 9/11 to curry favor and help show we are not attacking Islam (it's the other way around, Joe).

Say, is there any truth to the story that Obama is getting a hearing aid out of concern for all those Jeremiah Wright sermons he couldn't hear for 20 years?

I'm just wondering

The French National Anthem

UPDATE: This is too funny not to mention.

The New York Times has included our new version of the French National Anthem on their website.

Earlier today, WC put up a post about how France has suffered the death of ten soldiers in Afghanistan recently. Thus, Sarkozy finds himself beseiged by French citizens who are shocked to find that in a real war, soldiers get killed.

As WC said, "What do the French do when they find themselves in a real war? Surrender!"

Anyway, as a result, the London Times reports that the French are suffering,

" ... an unprecedented display of national doubt and soul-searching ... "

I commented that that line ought to be made part of the French National Anthem.

Voila!

An Anonymous commenter has taken the libertie' of rewriting the French National Anthem for our amusement:

You're right so I took the liberty of updating it just in case someone there gets an internet connection and opportunity to read it.

La Marseillaise
French National Anthem

Let's go children of the fatherland,
The day of glory has arrived!
Against us tyranny's
Bloody flag is raised! (repeat)
In the countryside, do you hear
The roaring of these fierce soldiers?
They come right to our arms
To slit the throats of our sons, our friends!

Chorus

The time has come oh citizens
To appease these vile shenanigans!
Let us march! Let us march!
An unprecedented display
Of national doubt and soul-searching

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

This horde of slaves, traitors, plotting kings,
What do they want?
For whom these vile shackles,
These long-prepared irons? (repeat)
Frenchmen, for us, oh! what an insult!
What emotions that must excite!
It is us that they dare to consider
Returning to ancient slavery!

What! These foreign troops
Would make laws in our home!
What! These mercenary phalanxes
Would bring down our proud warriors! Good Lord! By chained hands
Our brows would bend beneath the yoke!
Vile despots would become
The masters of our fate!

Tremble, tyrants! and you, traitors,
The disgrace of all groups,
Tremble! Your parricidal plans
Will finally pay the price!

Everyone is a soldier to fight you,
If they fall, our young heros,
France will make more,
Ready to battle you!

Frenchmen, as magnanimous warriors,
Bear or hold back your blows!
Spare these sad victims,
Regretfully arming against us.

But not these bloodthirsty despots,
But not these accomplices of Bouillé,
All of these animals who, without pity,
Tear their mother's breast to pieces!

Sacred love of France,
Lead, support our avenging arms!
Liberty, beloved Liberty,
Fight with your defenders!

Under our flags, let victory
Hasten to your manly tones!
May your dying enemies
See your triumph and our glory!

The time has come oh citizens
To appease these vile shenanigans!
Let us march! Let us march!
An unprecedented display
Of national doubt and soul-searching

We will enter the pit
When our elders are no longer there;
There, we will find their dust
And the traces of their virtues.

Much less eager to outlive them
Than to share their casket,
We will have the sublime pride
Of avenging them or following them!

The time has come oh citizens
To appease these vile shenanigans!
Let us march! Let us march!
An unprecedented display
Of national doubt and soul-searching

UPDATE ON THE CHEMICAL POISONING INCIDENT IN ST. LOUIS

The first two posts can be found here and here.

Basically, some men at a chemical plant in St. Louis were exposed to a chemical called Nitroaninline, which has explosive qualities and is extremely toxic. The men became very ill, turned blue and started showing up at two or three different hospitals.

Two of the hospitals went on complete lockdown after the men arrived, because officials at the facilities were afraid the men might have infected everyone in the entire hospital.

Eventually, officials determined the origin of the problem, but would not release the name of the chemical. Later they realeased the name of the chemical.

Note that they still will not give us two vital pieces of information;

1) what are the names of those who were infected?

and

2) why were they in the plant on a non-work day?

There were reports that two of the men had died.

Later, an official at the chemical company made the claim that those report were completely untrue.

St. Louis Today update
SUN AUG 31, 2008:

Employees with Hulcher Services Inc, an environmental cleanup company out
of Memphis vacuum the loading dock at G.S. Robins & Co. Sunday afternoon in
East. St. Louis where a toxic powder mishap Saturday hospitalized several
employees.

"Steve Robins, president of the G.S. Robins & Co., the parent company
Ro-Corp Inc., said the city manager's claim that there had been two deaths was
wrong and no one died. (Laurie Skrivan/P-D)

Wow . . .were there really no deaths from this accident or is this the story to make it all go away?

Ok, but then why is this report coming out in this manner (thanks to our Anonymous friend for making me aware of this):

BND.com has video footage of the clean up.

It also provides this curious FBI accounting/statement which does not
account for all of the victims:FBI Spokesman Price McCarty said a total of eight
people, all Ro-Corp. plant workers, were injured.

One of the eight was released from Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis
Sunday evening, while at least four other victims remained hospitalized.

The victim at St. Louis University Hospital remained in serious condition,
while the conditions of all three victims at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in
south St. Louis County had upgraded from stable to satisfactory, according to a
hospital statement.

That statement accounts for five of the eight injured workers. What about the other three?

If there are no dead people, then there are no names to release, right?

AND, THERE'S MORE:

"Robins said the workers were not scheduled to be
at the facility on Saturday but went in after a customer called in a special
order. He had few details on the accident.

"Despite workers not being scheduled to be at the facility - someone was
available to take a phone order. This individual not only accepted this order,
but managed to find the personnel to fulfill this order on unscheduled time.

Such flexiblity presents a question of security.

What could this chemical be used for that it warranted an unscheduled order fulfillment on a day no workers were scheduled to be at the warehouse?

Who took the order? Who placed the order? For what purpose?

Who called in the workers, and by what protocol and authority?

Is this how insecure such chemical warehouses are in this country?

There is plenty of reason to be concerned here, even if no terror is related. Identify and interview the workers involved.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE: Anonymous comments:

Upon review of post, number of patients is wrong . . .

re-reading carefully (it's late here on the east coast)

Quote: "One of the eight was released from Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis Sunday evening, while at least four other victims remained hospitalized."

Barnes Jewish Hospital = one of 8 released =1
at least 4 others remain hospitalized = 4

St. Louis Univ. Hospital = 1
St. Anthony's Med Center = 3

These add up to at least nine patients . . .
FBI says 8 . . .

again, nothing adds up.

Hopefully, by tomorrow am we will have better answers.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S STILL MORE:

Only one remains hospitalized
Three of the victims were released Monday from SSM DePaul Health Center, a
spokeswoman said. Three others were medically cleared Sunday to go home from St.
Anthony's, while a seventh victim was released by St. Louis' Barnes-Jewish
Hospital, spokeswomen said.

One person remained hospitalized Monday in fair condition at Saint Louis
University Hospital.

Still no names, no interviews of victims - the msm has lost interest & swept it all under the proverbial rug.

Report: Israel won't allow a nuclear Iran

From the Jerusalem Post:

Israel will not allow Iran to attain nuclear capability and if time begins to run out, Jerusalem will not hesitate to take whatever means necessary to prevent Iran from achieving its nuclear goals, the government has recently decided in a special discussion.

According to the Israeli daily Ma'ariv, whether
the United States and Western countries succeed in thwarting the Islamic Republic's nuclear ambitions diplomatically, through sanctions, or whether a US strike on Iran is eventually decided upon, Jerusalem has begun preparing for a separate, independent military strike.

So far, Israel has not received American authorization to use US-controlled Iraqi airspace, nor has the defense establishment been successful in securing the purchase of advanced US-made warplanes which could facilitate an Israeli strike.

The Americans have offered Israel permission to use a global early warning radar system, implying that the US is pushing Israel to settle for defensive measures only.

Because of Israel's lack of strategic depth, Jerusalem has consistently warned in recent years that it will not settle for a 'wait and see' approach, merely retaliating to an attack, but will rather use preemption to prevent any risk of being hit in the first place.

Ephraim Sneh a veteran Labor MK who has recently left the party, has reportedly sent a document to both US presidential candidates, John McCain and Barack Obama. The eight-point document states that "there is no government in Jerusalem that would ever reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran. When it is clear Iran is on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons, an Israeli military strike to prevent this will be seriously considered."

According to Ma'ariv, Sneh offered the two candidates the "sane, cheap and the only option that does not necessitate bloodshed." To prevent Iran's nuclear aspirations, Sneh wrote, "real" sanctions applied by the US and Europe were necessary. A total embargo in spare parts for the oil industry and a total boycott of Iranian banks would promptly put an end to the regime, which is already pressured by a sloping economy and would be toppled by the Iranian people if they have outside assistance, he said.

The window of opportunity Sneh suggests is a year and a half to two years, until 2010.

Sneh also visited Switzerland and Austria last week in an attempt to lobby them against the Iranian threat. Both countries have announced massive long-term investments in Iranian gas and oil fields for the next decade.

"Talk of the Jewish Holocaust and Israel's security doesn't impress these guys," Sneh said wryly.

Hearing his hosts speak of their future investments, Sneh replied quietly "it's a shame, because Ido will light all this up." He was referring to Maj. Gen. Ido Nehushtan, the recently appointed IAF commander and the man most likely to be the one to orchestrate Israel's attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, should this become a necessity.

"Investing in Iran in 2008," Sneh told his Austrian hosts, "is like investing in the Krupp steelworks in 1938, it's a high risk investment." The Austrians, according to Sneh, turned pale.
