The New Dangers of Immigration: Are Muslim Immigrants Different?

Immigration has been part and parcel of American history and society from the origins of our country. But the nature of immigration has changed dramatically in recent years, and with it entirely new challenges and dangers that the United States has not confronted before. 
As it has been getting easier and easier to come to our shores, more and more new arrivals have brought with them venomous political and religious doctrines with them that pose grave dangers for our nation. 
Immigrants have always been an important source of strength, and a source of concern for America. As the American Industrial Revolution got under way, more and more immigrants came to the Land of Opportunity. 
These immigrants seemed to be increasingly alien in philosophy and religious belief, Catholics coming from Ireland, Italy, and the Hapsburg Empire and Jews from Germany and the Russian Empire. 
Assimilating these disparate peoples into the American melting pot was not always easy. It is not merely a stereotype that they were usually poorly educated, and often prone to clannish group loyalties and corruption, and even criminality. 
After the Russian Revolution a very few were even committed to a Bolshevik coup in America. But they were also very often the people from their relatively backward and poor countries who had the ambition to leave behind their old village and its settled traditions and cross the Atlantic in search of a dream. And they were part of a larger European and Judeo-Christian civilization. 
The next wave of immigrants have come from Mexico and further south. For the most part these new arrivals have also brought both ambition and a desire for a better life. But modern day Mexico and Central America are also failing states, engulfed by uncontrolled violence and criminal gangs that dwarf earlier undesirable immigrant elements. The task of distinguishing between modern model citizens and vicious thugs has gotten harder. (That said, my own personal impressions of Hispanic immigrants has been exceptionally positive: hard working people grateful for the chance to live in this great country.) 
The even more recent wave of immigrants from the former Soviet Union has been yet even more problematic. Russia is a hopelessly corrupt society and some Russians have brought that mindset with them. Social Security and Medicare fraud are rampant among the Russian immigrant community, and among my numerous contacts in the Russian-American community, a disturbingly large percentage seethe with contempt for the United States. 
But the most problematic group of immigrants, by far, are Muslims from Africa and the Middle East. Senior al-Qaeda recruiter Anwar al-Awlaki was an American citizen of Yemeni descent. Nidal Hassan, who killed 13 people at Ft. Hood, is an American of Palestinian descent. Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, who murdered five people in Chattanooga, was a naturalized American citizen of Jordanian descent. The list goes on and on, and will get longer with time. 
In the 19th century, an immigrant from southern or eastern Europe would have spent a month or more to get to Ellis Island, and would have been gladdened by the sight of the Statue of Liberty. They brought no particular ideology with them, other than a devotion to the social traditions of the old country. And once they arrived, they were by and large transplanted in a new land. 
Today’s immigrants from the Middle East and Africa are only a ten-hour flight from what many may naturally consider their true homeland. If Italian Catholic peasants came from a very different culture from America, these immigrants come from very nearly a different world. 
I have spent a lot of time in the Middle East and can have some respect for its cultural traditions, but far too many in this benighted corner of the planet have no respect for the United States, but rather bitter hatred. 
This most recent wave of immigrants are often more resistant to easy assimilation and more reluctant to accept this country as truly their own. It is a ridiculous and dangerous myth that possession of American citizenship automatically means loyalty to America. 
And in our modern internet connected world, not only is communication a hundred fold easier, so is command, control and even more dangerous, exhortation to jihadist terrorism. 
I do not mean to suggest that a majority of Muslim immigrants are disloyal to America or a threat to our national security. I do wish to suggest that the nature of immigration today is very different from past times, and that we carefully consider those differences as we debate who should be allowed to come to our country and to whom we should confer the benefit of American citizenship.

"I want to put the Republican leadership behind this mirror and let them see. They need to wake up. They don’t realize how the grassroots have abandoned them," Luntz continued. 
"Donald Trump is punishment to a Republican elite that wasn't listening to their grassroots." 
The group said Trump has their best interests in mind, while other Republicans are looking out for themselves. 
"We've got to show the Republicans that we've had it with them, that we will not be there every single time. They treat us like crap and they lie to us and promise us things and then they expect us to vote again," said a Republican woman.... 
Much of Trump’s support in the room seemed to stem from a weakness in the Republican party. The 2014 midterms did not usher in the conservative renaissance Republicans expected. Obamacare has still not been repealed, Congress is looking less likely to override a veto on the Iran deal, and there are still 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States. 
The group of 29 went around the room, each supplying a single adjective for the legislative body that let them down after the 2014 elections. Congress "does nothing." It's "too old." "Useless." "Lame." "Inept." "Wrong party." "Cocktail party." "Gridlock." "Costly. "Sold out." "Sucks." "Douchebags."

If we were again faced with the destruction of our civilization, would we join together the way we did in those movies?

Based on what our 21st Century Civilization’s response is to ISIS – I call bullsheet!

Whatever religion you believe in - or not, any gods you worship, ethnic group you belong to, culture you practice, or country that you are, ISIS is a threat to your contribution to our civilization’s past, present and future.

Islamic State (ISIS) militants have destroyed a temple at Syria's ancient ruins of Palmyra, activists said Sunday, realizing the worst fears archaeologists had for the 2,000-year-old Roman-era city after the extremists seized it and beheaded a local scholar.

The horrid and disgusting acts of ISIS and those that pledge themselves to them are not just uncivilized - but inhuman. Their actions make the Nazis look like boy Scouts!

There is no excuse against an immediate response of millions of troops, thousands of planes and hundreds of ships of the entire world to execute organized military action wherever ISIS is found.

History will judge civilization on how it responds to this plague. If civilization ignores ISIS or responds with feeble attempts, it is History that will judge us and find our 21st Century Civilization lacking in courage and morality.

Continue Birthright Citizenship?

(This blog post is lengthy and, therefore, will remain here for several days so that readers will have time to consider the topic before leaping to taking a position. Also, please see the blog post published on Saturday, August 22, 2015; I am seeking advice about a personal matter)

Donald Trump's immigration plan has ignited a firestorm of discussions about the matter of illegal immigration, a problem that can and should be laid at the feet of both the Democratic and Republican Parties. Stories such as this one add more fuel to the fire: DHS Kept Secret the Release Of Violent Criminal Illegal Immigrants: Local law enforcement ‘perplexed’ over controversial policy.

Trump's published statement about immigration reform contains the following:
End birthright citizenship. This remains the biggest magnet for illegal immigration. By a 2:1 margin, voters say it’s the wrong policy, including Harry Reid who said “no sane country” would give automatic citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants.

What, exactly, does the Constitution say about birthright citizenship? Section One of the Fourteenth Amendment reads as follows:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
What does jurisdiction entail? According to this (emphases mine):
...It should be noted that the condition of the father is what determines whether someone is born an alien or not because under U.S. law citizenship of wives and children always followed that of the father. And of course the status of the father was what determined the citizenship of a child born under law of nature.

[...]

...[C]itizenship by birth is established by the sovereign jurisdiction the United States already has over the parents of the child, and that required that they owe allegiance exclusively to the United States – just as is required to become a naturalized citizen. It does not require a leap of faith to understand what persons, other than citizens themselves, under the Fourteenth Amendment are citizens of the United States by birth: Those aliens who have come with the intent to become U.S. citizens, who had first complied with the laws of naturalization in declaring their intent and renounce all prior allegiances....

[...]

...There is no way in the world anyone can claim “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” affirms the feudal common law doctrine of birth citizenship to aliens because such doctrine by operation creates a “double allegiance” between separate nations.

If there is one inescapable truth to the text and debates, it is this: When Congress decided to require potential citizens to first be subject to the complete jurisdiction of the United States they by default excluded all citizens of other nations temporarily residing in the U.S. who had no intention of becoming citizens themselves or, disqualified of doing so under naturalization laws. This was no oversight...

Side Deal Update: Iran to skirt side deal of nuclear agreement, hold missile drills -DUH!

Iran will resume long-range ballistic missile drills in coming months despite a UN stipulation in the recent nuclear deal that Teheran halt nuclear-capable ballistic missile activity.
According to Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency, Teheran believes that wording in the nuclear accord is non-binding in that it merely “calls” on Iran to stop its missile activity.
Following the nuclear framework with world powers, there has been a push in Iranian parliament to resume ballistic missile drills, said to be a military deterrent against the U.S. and Israel. According to the nuclear arrangement, the ban on the Iranian ballistic missile trade is only to be lifted after eight years.
Annex B of UN Resolution 2231, which adopted the Iran nuclear deal, reads: “Iran is called upon not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology, until the date eight years after the JCPOA Adoption Day or until the date on which the IAEA submits a report confirming the Broader Conclusion, whichever is earlier.”
The U.S. has stressed ballistic missile activity is forbidden by the clause, while Iran says it has not accepted the annex, and claims its missiles are not designed for nuclear payloads meaning the paragraph is irrelevant in any case. A key army commander has confirmed that Iran’s domestic long-range ballistic missile are in fact nuclear capable, particularly the Shahab 3 and Sejjil 2.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry reacted to the annex in a statement, saying that its ballistic missile program will not be harmed by the resolution.
Iranian Ground Force Commander Brig. Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdastan announced on Aug. 19 that six specialized military drills testing domestic rocketry are to be held by next March, Fars reported.

The July 14 signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action between major nations and Iran on its nuclear program is months from being implemented, but European nations already are moving forward with plans to resume trade with Iran as the process of lifting sanctions unfolds.
Those sanctions had reduced Iranian oil and gas exports by at least 50 percent and crippled badly needed investment in the aviation and automotive industries.

On Aug. 12 the Swiss Federal Council released a statement from Bern that the nuclear agreement “opens up new political and economic prospects with Iran, including bilateral relations. Given the important turning point in the 12 year nuclear dispute, the Federal Council decided on 12 August to lift the sanctions against Iran.”
The Swiss statement added that it seeks “to promote a broad political and economic exchange with Iran.”
During a meeting in June at the Italian Foreign Ministry in Rome, senior ministry officials described their government’s decision to move as quickly as possible to resume trade ties with Iran.
According to The Economist, French automakers Renault and Peugeot for years had a strong market presence in Iran. They are seeking to return to that highly profitable market position by working with local automakers.
Peugeot, for example, has agreed to restart production with Iran Khodro, its former partner, says the magazine.
Low labor costs in Iran over time also could induce European automakers to build production plants there as well as Peugeot has done in Morocco and Renault in Algeria.
Looking to move beyond the European Union’s (EU) policy of financial confrontation with Iran, the French government is actively promoting in Teheran the business goals of two of its most prominent companies.
European attitudes toward resuming trade with Iran were confirmed last month in Washington when Tedo Japaridze, former Foreign Minister of Georgia, said that in the three trips he has made to Iran this year he has seen “scores” of Europeans around Teheran preparing for the end of international sanctions on Iran.
The Europeans and Iran see mutual benefit in resumed trade and an overall improvement in relations.
Most European nations are not as concerned about the details of the nuclear deal as the United States or Israel, focusing on the economic opportunities of resuming trade.
The practical effects are apparent. In addition to the tens of billions of dollars that are scheduled to be released to Iran in coming months, Iran can begin to address critical needs in parts of its economy.
The most obvious and important for Iran’s hard currency earnings is modernizing the infrastructure in the oil and gas industry. Italy, for example, is highly energy dependent and sees resumed trade with Iran, which has significant energy reserves, as a way to address those needs.
Italy will increase its purchases of Iranian oil, as will other European nations along with past customers such as India and Japan, a financial windfall that if applied efficiently will improve the energy infrastructure.
Many commentators have pointed out that once sanctions imposed by the U.S., EU and UN are lifted, Iran will reclaim tens of billions of dollars in assets that had been frozen.
At present Iran is estimated to be spending annually about 6-16 billion dollars in support of terrorist operations in the region, including funding support to Hizbullah and Hamas according to a former U.S. Department of the Treasury senior official.
Iran can be expected to use some of the forthcoming funds to increase its support to terrorist operations around the Middle East.
At the same time, and no less important to Iran, the lifting of sanctions is likely to be a financial boon to what for years has been a stagnant and even crippled economy described by President Barack Obama as headed “to the Stone Age.”
Iran will be able to sell oil on the international market, participate in the international financial system and resume international trade with the Europeans and other trading partners. Such are the significant rewards for the nuclear negotiations.

IRS finds yet another Lois Lerner email account, Alias "Toby Miles"

Lois Lerner had yet another personal email account used to conduct some IRS business, the tax agency confirmed in a new court filing late Monday that further complicates the administration’s efforts to be transparent about Ms. Lerner’s actions during the tea party targeting scandal. 
The admission came in an open-records lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest law firm that has sued to get a look at emails Ms. Lerner sent during the targeting. 
“In addition to emails to or from an email account denominated ‘Lois G. Lerner‘ or ‘Lois Home,’ some emails responsive to Judicial Watch’s request may have been sent to or received from a personal email account denominated ‘Toby Miles,’” Mr. Klimas told Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, who is hearing the case.

Two Michigan Cities Plan To Celebrate "Ramadan Unity Dinner" on 9/11


This despite the fact that Ramadan took place on June 17 this year.

In other words, this is just an outright statement of Islamic Supremacy. It's meant to be an insult. It's meant to be utterly offensive. It is meant to humiliate and denigrate infidels.

And, of course, we won't do shit about it. Especially those of us who call ourselves "Christians".

The Democratic mayors of two Michigan cities plan to celebrate September 11th this year by honoring Sharia and hosting their “9th Annual Ramadan Unity Dinner.” 
Ramadan ended in July, but the Islamic Society of Greater Lansing has scheduled its dinner at the city-owned convention center on the very day when 19 Muslim terrorists killed 2,977 innocent victims at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and three crashed airliners, 14 years ago. 
In an almost unbelievable act of callousness and dishonor of those victims, Mayors Virg Bernero and Nathan Triplett of Lansing and East Lansing, respectively, will host a dinner themed “Hope, Not Hunger.” 
The event’s poster features an Islamic crescent and a skyline of mosque-styled buildings.

A White House strategy document regards the group as a moderate alternative to more violent Islamist groups like al Qaeda and the Islamic State.
The policy of backing the Muslim Brotherhood is outlined in a secret directive called Presidential Study Directive-11, or PSD-11. The directive was produced in 2011 and outlines administration support for political reform in the Middle East and North Africa, according to officials familiar with the classified study.

Britain’s vandalised embassy in Iran reopened on Sunday – with graffiti stiill daubed above a portrait of the Queen saying “Death to England”. 
The graffiti, one of numerous slogans sprayed across the embassy in Tehran when it was ransacked by a mob four years ago, had not been removed for the grand-reopening of the embassy, despite the attendance of VIPs including the Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond.
England doesn't even have enough pride to paint over this abominable insult?!?
