The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly defied U.S. warnings and voted Thursday to condemn President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and move the U.S. Embassy there from Tel Aviv. 

The resolution passed with 128 member states voting in favor of the resolution, nine voting against, and 35 countries abstaining. Israel joined the U.S. in voting "no." 

Notable abstentions included U.S. allies Canada and Australia, as well as others like Mexico and Argentina. 

The vote came after U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley issued a stern warning United Nations that the United States "will remember" countries that voted for the measure. 

Haley hinted that U.S. financial support for the U.N. is not guaranteed and that the U.S. should not be expected to support an organization that condemned it. 

"The United States is by far the single largest contributor to the United Nations," she said, noting that "our participation in the U.N. produces great good for the world." 

"We do this because it represents who we are... when we make generous contributions to the U.N. we also have a legitimate expectation that our goodwill is recognized," she said.  

"If our investment fails, we have an obligation to spend our resources in more productive ways." Haley said "the United States will remember this day" when it was "singled out for attack."

We’ve learned the FBI has arrested a man by the name of Everitt Aaron Jameson from Modesto. They say he wanted to target Pier 39. 

According to FBI documents, Jameson picked out that location because he “had been there before and knew it was a heavily crowded area.” 

He added that it would be easy to “funnel” people into an area where he could inflict casualties. 

The documents also say Jameson was posting and liking pro-ISIS and pro-terrorism content on Facebook. 

And according to the documents, the suspect was discharged from the Marine Corps. 

He had prior military experience with a “sharpshooter” rifle qualification and expertise with rifle marksmanship.

Officials have stopped a man who reportedly stated that "Christmas was the perfect day" for a terror attack in San Francisco and "did not need an escape plan because he was ready to die."

We've learned the FBI has arrested a man by the name of Everitt Aaron Jameson from Modesto. According to a handwritten letter obtained by the FBI, Jameson also referred to himself as Abdallah adu Everitt ibn Gordon.

According to FBI documents, Jameson picked the Pier 39 location because he "had been there before and knew it was a heavily crowded area." He added that it would be easy to "funnel" people into an area where he could inflict casualties.

Jameson reportedly said he was inspired by the New York terror attack on Oct. 31, when a man drove into a crowd and killed eight people, and the deadly 2015 shooting in San Bernardino.

The documents also say Jameson was posting and liking pro-ISIS and pro-terrorism content on Facebook.
And according to the documents, the suspect was discharged from the Marine Corps. He had prior military experience with a "sharpshooter" rifle qualification and expertise with rifle marksmanship.

Officials say Jameson was talking to an undercover FBI agent. They add that he was arrested earlier this week and a search warrant was executed at his Modesto home. Several firearms were found, along with fireworks.
ABC7 News contacted officials at Pier 39 to ask for a response, they say they did not know about this plot.

The chief of the FBI’s Las Vegas office said he expects the agency to release a report on the Oct. 1 massacre before the tragedy’s first anniversary. “Now that’s a long time for some people, but speaking for the FBI, that’s light speed, all right?” 

Special Agent in Charge Aaron Rouse said. Rouse spoke with the Las Vegas Review-Journal during an extensive interview Wednesday at the FBI’s Las Vegas office. 

He said reports from other agencies that responded to the mass shooting are being released at different times. 

The FBI official also says “we may never know” the motive of the Las Vegas shooter. Unbelievable. 

“I believe that there is one person and one person alone to blame for what happened on One October, and that is Stephen Paddock,” Rouse said. 

During the course of the investigation, Rouse said, the FBI brought in about 400 different specialists to help catalog evidence.

Muslim Amir Khan issued death threats and abuse for putting up a Christmas tree

Amir Khan has been subjected to a torrent of online abuse after he posted on social media that he had put up a Christmas tree. 

The British boxer, who is a practising Muslim, even received a death threat from one angry troll as others questioned why he was celebrating the traditionally Christian holiday. 

Posting a video of the twinkling tree lights on Instagram, Amir revealed that he’d put the tree up to surprise his three-year-old daughter, Lamaisah. 

He captioned the post with: “While everyone’s asleep, daddy put the Christmas tree up. “Lamaisah’s going to be happy #Christmas #MerryChristmas2017.” However, he was immediately hit with backlash. One wrote: “I promise to God I want to kill you and your family, Amir.”
