Stars of the 'Americans kill you for your organs' Turkish Ben Hur

I really hate to dump my Zoolander...maybe we should just inform Jack Bauer

But Wait, There's More!

ThomastheWraith published the VERY funny "Racist Soup." It serves to remind me that Islamic life is FULL of funny stuff - here's another one! I think we should make a collection of this kind of nonesense and publish it! Talk about ridiculous!

But I digress; here's a quote from Mark Steyn in The Patriot Post:

"Burger King. . .withdrew its ice cream cones from its British menus because Rashad Akhtar of High Wycombe complained that the creamy swirl shown on the lid looked like the word 'Allah' in Arabic script. I don't know which sura in the Koran says don't forget, folks, it's not just physical representations of God or the Prophet but also chocolate ice cream squiggly representations of the name, but isnay on both just to be 'sensitive.'"

There's one from one of those Islamic "ask the expert" things about the best way to get the dog hair off your clothing. Gotta go find that! HYSTERICAL! We don't need to think of cartoons or anything like that; Muslims supply all the material that we need, and we can use it absolutely unchanged!

"Turkey Welcomes You"???

This lovely piece is from another proud Infidel site on Blogger, http://freecopts.blogspot.com and is quite telling when it comes to my nemeses, the ever-peaceful Turks. I can only continue to laugh ruefully at the Turkish ad campaign to promote tourism to "Occupied Asia Minor" of a few years ago, "Turkey Welcomes You". Considering their past definition of being "welcoming", I think I'll pass at the moment, even if this story is from the Turkish community in Germany.

Turkish Anti-Semitic Film Sells Out In Germany.

Young Muslim Turks Chant "Allah is Great" as They watch a Dagger Plungging into the Heart of an American Commander.

A virulently anti-Semitic film about the Iraq war has provoked a storm of protest in Germany after it sold out to cheering audiences from the country's 2.5 million-strong Turkish community.
Valley of the Wolves, by the Turkish director Serdan Akar, shows crazed American GIs massacring innocent guests at a wedding party and scenes in which a Jewish surgeon removes organs from Iraqi prisoners in a style reminiscent of the Nazi death camp doctor Joseph Mengele.

US soldiers storm a wedding party in a scene from the film.
Bavaria's interior minister admitted last week that he had dispatched intelligence service agents to cinemas showing the film to "gauge" audience reaction and identify potential radicals.
Edmund Stoiber, the state's conservative prime minister, has appealed to cinema operators to remove what he described as "this racist and anti-Western hate film" from their programmes.
The £6 million film, the most expensive Turkish production ever made, had already proved a box office hit in Turkey, where it first opened last month at a gala attended by the wife of the country's prime minister.
The production went on general release in Germany a fortnight ago and has had full houses ever since. More than 130,000 people, most of them young Muslims, saw the film in the first five days of its opening. At a packed cinema in a largely Turkish immigrant district of Berlin last week, Valley of the Wolves was being watched almost exclusively by young Turkish men. They clapped furiously when the Turkish hero of the film was shown blowing up a building occupied by the United States military commander in northern Iraq.
In the closing sequence, the hero is shown plunging a dagger into the heart of a US commander called Sam, played by Billy Zane. The audience responded by standing up and chanting "Allah is great!"
Afterwards, an 18-year-old member of the audience said: "The Americans always behave like this. They slaughtered the Red Indians and killed thousands in Vietnam.
"I was not shocked by the film, I see this on the news every day."
The nature of the film and the enthusiastic reception given to it by young Muslims, has both shocked and polarised politicians and community leaders.
Bernd Neumann, the culture minister in Chancellor Angela Merkel's government complained last week that the reaction to the film "raises serious questions about the values of our society and our ability to instil them".
Kenan Kolat, the head of Germany's Turkish community, insisted that a ban on the film would make matters worse. "If it is withdrawn, it will raise levels of identification with the film," he said. "A democracy must be able to endure films that it doesn't approve of."
Alin Sahin, the film's distributor in Germany, argued: "When a cartoonist insults two billion Muslims it is considered freedom of opinion, but when an action film takes on the Americans it is considered demagoguery. Something is wrong."
But those arguing for a ban on Valley of the Wolves appeared to have won a partial victory last week when Cinemaxx, one of Germany's largest cinema chains, announced that it was withdrawing the film.

Racist Soup

This is not an Onion headline. We live in a post-Onion world. You can't make this stuff up. Police in France are trying to stop a woman from serving free soup to the homeless because (gasp!) the soup has pork in it. It's racist soup!

All the details are at Thomas the Wraith.

And in the 'Why take a chance category'..

Well, we have seen previously in other documented posts that UAE imams preach the usual hate, that UAE 'royalty' were visting OBL preventing a USA strike, and we have seen claims that Al Qaeda has infiltrated the UAE govt.

But, hey this town looks likes us ! (with less traffic)

To me the key is always what the populace of the UAE thinks. They have been represented to us as supporting the USA strongly. They have been represented as a strong and dependable ally in the War on Terror, and not what we would find elsewhere along the gulf. We have also been told that the leaders of the UAE are 'different' from others.

I am trying to keep an open mind.

However, a Zogby poll on the UAE from 2004 shows this:

-- 73% of UAE citizens had a negative view of the United States; only 14% had a favorable view.

-- Only 5% of UAE citizens felt that "democracy" was an "extremely important" reason for the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction was cited by 16%. "Oil" and "domination of the Muslim world" were the main reasons offered by UAE citizens for our invasion of Iraq.

-- 81% of UAE citizens felt Iraq was worse off after the war. Only 4% said it was better off without Saddam.

-- Asked to identify their "most admired" world leaders, 18% of UAE citizens chose Osama bin Laden. "No one" finished first with 22%.

-- When asked how they viewed themselves, only 19% said they identified first and foremost as citizens of the United Arab Emirates, while 66% said they saw themselves as "Muslims" first

Anyone shocked?
I am very concerned about stubborn incompetence in the Bush admin.
I am more concerned that our alternatives on the other side of the aisle ARE WORSE.

I remain unconvinced. I remain convinced that IF the UAE leaders favor the USA at all it is because they think we'll win. That kind of Afghan warlord alliance, is too fickle to allow any contact with operations of US ports. We should be turning the same skeptical baleful eye towards Chinese govt owned corporate operations of US ports on the west coast. If they invade Taiwan, or pressure it and we respond with the 7th Fleet, do you think that west coast port operations might be something the Chinese would have a day to day interest in? Think that might be important to Iran if they are supplying China with increasing amounts of oil? Think China would like to see us taken down a peg by Iran at little cost to themselves? Think any pressuring of Taiwan might occur just when tensions with Iran peak?

What is the Bush Admin thinking about?
Convince me this has been discussed, Georgie. It's not Xenophobia or racism to be prudently concerned that too little weight has been given to this by PROCESS. Especially when in the second week, and before any investigation begins we find out that Homeland Security objected, and the Coast Guard did as well. It sounds like 9/10 thinking to me. Convince me otherwise.

TERROR TRAINING CAMPS: Terrorists in U.S. 'Training for War

From the land of terror enablers Schumer (LEAVE AL QAEDA'S PHONE CONVERSATIONS ALONE!) and Hillary (NO PORT DEAL)............we have terrorist training camps. I wonder how much payola they received from these terrorists? WHERE IS THE OUTCRY CHUCKIE? The nasal Chuckie whine. Why isn't Hillary shouting JIHAD over this -- as opposed to school vouchers (which would give poor kids a shot at a good education)?

Schumer and Clinton are comfortably ensconced in the pocket$ of corrupt unions (it's their bread and butter).) It is incumbent upon them to enable the deeply embedded corruption and featherbedding practices that have become a way of life at our port facilities. Perhaps a new management firm might shake things up, save money and perhaps even enhance security.

The day America hands the reins of power over to the Dhimmicrats, is the day we've signed our own warrants. Just look at what the left is up to here.

By their acts, ye shall know them. And so we know them.

Probe finds terrorists in U.S. 'training for war'

Neighbors of Muslim encampment fear retaliation if they report to police

The Pakistani terrorist group Jamaat ul Fuqra is using Islamic schools in the United States as training facilities, confirms a joint investigative report by an intelligence think tank and an independent reporter.

A covert visit to an encampment in the Catskill Mountains near Hancock, N.Y.,Terror_camp_ny called "Islamberg" found neighboring residents deeply concerned about military-style training taking place there but frustrated by the lack of attention from federal authorities, said the report by the Northeast Intelligence Network, which worked with an Internet blogger, "CP," to publish an interim report. (Entrance to Hancock, N.Y., encampment (Courtesy Northeast Intelligence Network))

The neighbors interviewed, who asked not to be identified, said they feared retaliation if they were to make a report to law enforcement officials.

"We see children – small children run around over there when they should be in school," one neighbor said. "We hear bursts of gunfire all of the time, and we know that there is military-like training going on there. Those people are armed and dangerous." Read it all

Why aren't Chuckie and Shrillary SHUTTING THESE TERROR CAMPS DOWN? So busy busy busy Chuckie is ~~ attempts to kill off the Alito and Roberts SCOTUS nominations, whining about Al Qaeda surveillance, and now screeching about the NON SECURITY issue of Dubai managing port operations (NO SECURITY INVOLVED).

Read the whole article and begin to understand how dangerous the left is to our national security. I want these camps closed down.

Members have been known to go to Pakistan for paramilitary training, but the investigation found evidence the U.S. encampments offer such training so members don't need to risk traveling abroad amid increased scrutiny following the 9-11 attacks.

The report says Jamaat ul-Fuqra members have "purchased isolated rural properties in North America to live as a community, practice their faith, and insulate themselves from Western culture. The group has established rural encampments that U.S. authorities allege are linked to murder, bombings and other felonies throughout North America."

U.S. authorities have probed the group for charges ranging from links to al-Qaida to laundering and funneling money into Pakistan for terrorist activities. The organization supports various terrorist groups operating in Pakistan and Kashmir, and Gilani himself is linked directly to Hamas and Hezbollah. hat tip Tom P

And where is this in the investigative press? When did the media abandon their role as watchdog and become the lazy bullhorn of the far left (don't answer that)?

"An able, disinterested, public-spirited press, with trained intelligence to know the right and courage to do it, can preserve that public virtue without which popular government is a sham and a mockery. A cynical, mercenary, demagogic press will produce in time a people as base as itself." —Joseph Pulitzer

Ben Stein--"We're losing"

In a simpler, more innocent, bygone era—that is to say, the pre 9-11 age—I used to think that Ben Stein was just a witty game show host, or a comic foil in some movies way back in the 80s.

Well, his game show may have gone into repeats, but Mr. Stein is proving to be a sharp observer on Mr. Bush’s so-called “war on terror”—what is more accurately called the ongoing Global Islamic Jihad against the Infidels.

Mr. Stein thinks that the Jihad is not faring so well--for the infidels. His latest musings seem to me to be spot-on accurate.
Greeting, fellow Americans. I have some serious news for you about the war against the terrorists, the war we are fighting to protect our liberties and our Constitution against Islamic totalitarianism. We're losing, big time. I don't mean we're losing in Iraq, where our brave men and women are fighting well in difficult conditions and with the home grown doubters at their heels. Nor in Afghanistan, where our men and women in uniform are also fighting brilliantly.

No, we are losing our freedom here at home, and in a particularly nasty way. It has to do with those cartoons mocking Mohammed that were published in a Danish publication and have excited riots and burnings across the Moslem world and fear and terror in Europe.

The problem here is that some students at the University of Illinois' student newspaper thought -- with some reason -- that the cartoons are newsworthy. They published six of them along with a written statement of why the cartoons were offensive. A few Moslem students complained, which surely is their right. The university officials stepped in and the student editors were essentially fired. Yes, because a student publication might cause offense. Imagine that.

That's on top of the fact that despite these cartoons being huge news, not one major paper has reprinted them. Not the fearless Washington Post, not the thorough Wall Street Journal, not any major newspaper of record that I know of. Nor have any of the major networks shown them, as far as I know.

So here's where we are: we have a first amendment guaranteeing freedom of speech and separation of church and state. That means so-called artists can make art of a crucifix soaking in urine and of holy Christian images made of animal dung and no one can stop them. That means bookstores of brick and on-line can sell Mein Kampf and the vilest writings of Hitler's lackeys. These horrible excrescences are protected and the media screams bloody murder if anyone tries to protect the sacred in Christianity and Judaism from the most putrid attacks.

But the media censors itself about the cartoons mocking the prophet of a religion many of whose adherents want to destroy our country and our way of life. We will fight to the death to protect the artists who create Piss Christ, but we'll also fight to the death to protect the feelings of the people who hate us and kill our children. We have surrendered our free expression to people who are at war with us. They kill us in the name of a religion and we bow and scrape to that religion while letting people dump on Christianity and Judaism.

There's a word for this, beyond the words Stockholm Syndrome and the words Political Correctness. The word is cowardice. Or maybe an even shorter word: defeat. Wake up, America. This is serious.

Al Qaradawi - "We Are Fighting In The Name Of Religion, In The Name Of Islam, Which Makes This Jihad An Individual Duty"

Ken Livingstone considers this man to be a moderate Muslim whilst labelling those who protest against his Nazi reminiscent hate speeches as bigots. Well, now you can judge for yourself, watch the video and decide. Is Qaradawi a moderate and if he isn't, then are you a bigot? (don't worry if you're confused, I've never found anything the Mayor has said to make much sense)

Transcript (click the picture to watch the video):

Following are excerpts from a program with Sheik Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, aired on Qatar TV on February 25, 2006.

Yousef Al-Qaradhawi: Our war with the Jews is over land, brothers. We must understand this. If they had not plundered our land, there wouldn't be a war between us.

[...]

We are fighting them in the name of Islam, because Islam commands us to fight whoever plunders our land, and occupies our country. All the school of Islamic jurisprudence - the Sunni, the Shiite, the Ibadhiya - and all the ancient and modern schools of jurisprudence - agree that any invader, who occupies even an inch of land of the Muslims, must face resistance. The Muslims of that country must carry out the resistance, and the rest of the Muslims must help them. If the people of that country are incapable or reluctant, we must fight to defend the land of Islam, even if the local [Muslims] give it up.

They must not allow anyone to take a single piece of land away from Islam. That is what we are fighting the Jews for. We are fighting them... Our religion commands us... We are fighting in the name of religion, in the name of Islam, which makes this Jihad an individual duty, in which the entire nation takes part, and whoever is killed in this [Jihad] is a martyr. This is why I ruled that martyrdom operations are permitted, because he commits martyrdom for the sake of Allah, and sacrifices his soul for the sake of Allah.

We do not disassociate Islam from the war. On the contrary, disassociating Islam from the war is the reason for our defeat. We are fighting in the name of Islam.

[...]

They fight us with Judaism, so we should fight them with Islam. They fight us with the Torah, so we should fight them with the Koran. If they say "the Temple," we should say "the Al-Aqsa Mosque." If they say: "We glorify the Sabbath," we should say: "We glorify the Friday." This is how it should be. Religion must lead the war. This is the only way we can win.

[...]

Everything will be on our side and against Jews on [Judgment Day], at that time, even the stones and the trees will speak, with or without words, and say: "Oh servant of Allah, oh Muslim, there's a Jew behind me, come and kill him." They will point to the Jews. It says "servant of Allah," not "servant of desires," "servant of women," "servant of the bottle," "servant of Marxism," or "servant of liberalism"... It said servant of Allah."

When the Muslims, the Arabs, and the Palestinians enter a war, they do it to worship Allah. They enter it as Muslims. The hadith says: "Oh Muslim." It says "oh Muslim," not "oh Palestinian, Jordanian, Syrian, or Arab nationalist." No, it says: "Oh Muslim." When we enter [a war] under the banner of Islam, and under the banner of serving Allah, we will be victorious.

Well, well, well! Does this surprise anyone?

According to the New York Post and Jihad Watch, Al-Qaeda claims to have infiltrated UAE government. Well, sure, ok, Al-Qaeda has infiltrated their government, but not to worry: Americans will still be in charge of port security.

February 25, 2006 -- WASHINGTON

Al Qaeda warned the government of the United Arab Emirates more than three years ago that it "infiltrated" key government agencies, according to a disturbing document released by the U.S. military. The warning was contained in a June 2002 message to UAE rulers, in which the terror network demanded the release of an unknown number of "mujahedeen detainees," who it said had been arrested during a government crackdown in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

Little is known about the origins or authorship of the message: "You are well aware that we have infiltrated your security, censorship and monetary agencies, along with other agencies that should not be mentioned," the message said. "Therefore, we warn of the continuation of practicing . . . policies which do not serve your interest and will only cost you many problems that will place you in an embarrassing state before your citizens. Your homeland is exposed to us. There are many vital interests that will hurt you if we decided to harm them."

But all's well, I'm sure, because Bush says all's well, and to trust him. I suppose that means that all those al-Qaeda infiltrators into the Dubai government agencies are all gone now, so there will be no fear that any infiltration into our port system is possible.

And besides, there's going to be that reassuring 45-day review of the deal. . .

What's that, you say? The people reviewing it will be the ones on the same committee that approved the deal in the first place?

When paleoconservatives crack, the disappointment of William F Buckley

Buckley has died ideologically. It is a disappointment.

Or maybe he has reverted from the neo syndrome.

"Real" conservatives like Mr. Buckley, who is credited for the 'invention' of modern conservatism (and who also wrote in defense of a fella named McCarthy) have always been not just suspicious of of the neo invasion, but skeptical, head shaking cynics.

Well, the cynic side of me always has an eyebrow raised, but frankly the 'real' conservative ethos is to act in foreign affairs only in the best interest of the USA (who can disagree?) and to do so in the most expedient means possible and to the devil with the hindmost. The latter portion, which would make the USA no WORSE than anyone else remains disquieting (maybe that's liberal?). Are we really going to be no worse?

The preeminent example of this is the fairly elected Mossadegh in 1953, and the advent of the Shah(i.e., if you threaten the oil and might give a warm warter port to the USSR, out you go) It is the american branch of the 'great game' which we can see being practiced right now by China and Russia with regard to Iran.

Is that all there is?

We look left and we see the permanently traumatized, dizzying pessimism and crushed liberal hopes of the democratic party, yielded now to bitter whining and a clear lack of understanding.

On the other hand what Buchanan et al have deemed "neo" all proceeds from one idea.

The long term security interests of the USA are best served by promoting freedom and democracy everywhere.

Buckley has abandoned this idea in favor of what? Friendly strongmen like Mubarak, whose army had to CLOSE voting booths because the Muslim Brotherhood was preferable to more of the same? He said that it's time to admit the Iraq experiment is complete failure. They cannot govern themselves/are not ready.

Were the long term security interests of the USA served by the destruction of the Mossadegh government and the insertion of the Pahlevis as Shah? A friendly, western oriented autocrat heralded for decades as a forward looking benevolence who would bring persia into the modern age? What was the result? A bunch of black hats in a circle around a well, building nukes, denying the reality of history, waiting for the Mahdi to crawl out after provking armageddon. Leaders who stated point blank that as long as they kil the jews, 350+? Million muslims could die, and it would be worth it (Rafsanjani and Khamenei). Does that sound like an improvement?

It doesn't work. It didn't work in Iran, Iraq (hashemites in the 50's), Libya (where once we had the largest airbase outside the USA ...Wheelus...under a friendly king), and we can see how 'stable' the other 'friends' are in KSA and Jordan. Just name a friendly autocrat and we see problems. After 9/11 we pal'd up with Uzbekistan in the person of the arch SOB Karimov for bases to get at the Taliban. We couldn't even hold our nose for 4 years, and have left AND been kicked out. It doesn't work.

Not only is the promotion of democracy and freedom in the best interest of not just american security (which means you and me) but it also benefits those freed, and by the way, WE GET TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR. Besides, anyone have a better idea? Saddam is still alive you know. So are many think alikes who would be happy to shake our hands and 'receive' Iraq, and would probably make a real slick deal (oil, bases).

Buckley had better tighten his belt and take good look at the massive tide of history. The days of the Somoza's and Pahlevi's for the USA is done.

We Won't Print Cartoons, But We'll Invite Thousands More Muslims To the US.....

By Damir Ahmed, IOL correspondent

KRASNODAR, Russia, July 24, (IslamOnline.net) - The United States has agreed to grant citizenship to 7,000 Ahiska Muslims who will be settled in Pennsylvania, reported a Russian newspaper on Friday, July 23.

The first 11-strong batch of the Ahiska Muslims, living in the Russian province of Krasnodar, left for Geneva on Thursday, July 22, before flying to Philadelphia, reported Novie Izvestia.

It added that the Muslims would be housed near the grand mosque in Philadelphia.

The paper recalled that Krasnodar governor Alexander Tkachev was notified of the American decision on February 15.

Izvestia said the Russian government does not treat Ahiska Muslims as citizens and has not therefore given them passports or IDs.

An official in Krasnodar administration had told Interfax on Tuesday, July 20, that of the 11,999 Ahiska Muslims living in the region, 4,943 have received Russian citizenship and 744 have embarked on Russian naturalization procedures.

He added that more than 5,000 others have expressed a desire to emigrate to the United States.

Earlier, Chingiz Neiman-zade, chairman of Vatan, a Meskheti Turks association based in Georgia, said the United States had offered to accept the Ahiska Muslims living in Krasnodar as immigrants.

"On February 16, the International Migration Organization began an information program in Krasnodar to explain the terms for the resettlement of the Ahiska Muslims in the U.S.," he told Chicago Tribune on Thursday, July 22.

"The immigrants will be provided with housing and furniture, they will be helped to learn the English language and to complete formalities needed for residence in the US, which is especially important, and have been promised life-long welfare allowances for pensioners and the disabled."

Happiness

Ahiska Muslims were happy with the American offer.

"This decision marks a great change in our life", said Tepeshon Swanidze, leader of the Ahiska Muslim community in Russia.

"We thank the US administration for its humanitarian decision", he added.

Ahiska Muslims , originally hailing from Anatolia, were exiled from their homeland after Russia seized the region of Ahiska following its 1828-1829 war with the Ottoman Empire.

Many Ahiska Muslims were forced to seek refugee in Erzurum in eastern Turkey after being persecuted by the Russian Cesar for supporting the Ottoman Empire.

Facing a similar fate under the notorious Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, Ahiska Muslims fled to Uzbekistan in 1944.

One year later, they went to Azerbaijan where they currently reside.

Turkish and Azeri parliamentarians had recently appealed for an international intervention to pressure the Georgian government into allowing the return of Ahiska Muslims.

Ahiska became part of Georgia in 1918.

********************************************

Is this really the time or place for this kind of "resettlement" program? And how is it that the Saudis can spend billions in the US and worldwide to build mosques and propaganda factories, yet neither they nor any other well off Muslim nations step up to the plate when a group of their co-religionists needs a place to go? Where does their concern and the flow of crocodile tears suddenly disappear to?

CARTOON VIRGINS - THOSE WERE THE DAYS!

Well, things certainly have changed since this post first came out in early December of 2005.

We were all innocent Cartoon Virgins back then! But just like Madonna, there is no going back now!! ;)

Can you believe this has only been going on for 3 months? :)

FU2RMAN & FRIENDS 'TOP TEN LIST' ON: 72 VIRGINS
1. Why exactly 72 virgins (or whatever the number is) ? Why not 71 or 73?
2. Does eternal bliss = (1) virgin every hour x (3) days straight! Its the only "72" calculation I could come up with.
3. Or maybe the cosine of pie = 72???
4. Once all 72 are eventually non-virgins, are they still “available” for any future fun? Or by definition, does that mean ... :(
5. So if you are shit outta luck after 72, is the potential suicide bomber aware of this small but very important fact? I don't know about you but this would definitely affect my decision making process. I'm usually pro-choice but this would surely make me pro-life…Mine!!
6. Does one need to get married to these virgins before one can actually have sex with them? If not, would that be a sin?
7. Can one actually commit a sin in heaven? Especially if this was all set up by, you know, the big man.
8. And if it is a sin, do you then lose all your "privileges" and are you now headed "elsewhere"?
9. What an ironic and unexpected turn of events that would be, huh?! I just hope these people have really thought through all the possibilities before the "big bang".
10. And finally, and this really is the big one for me, what if, (drum roll please) ......SEX DOES NOT EXIST......in the after life?

Suicide Bomber Recruiter to Suicide Bomber after the fact - "Well, ummm, gee....Sorry 'bout that. I guess it was just a small misunderstanding. Forgive me please????"

Into the Great Wide Open

Muslim Preacher on Temple Mount: Restore Worldwide Islamic Rule
11:59 Feb 26, '06 / 28 Shevat 5766
By Hillel Fendel

Sheikh Ismail Nawahda, preaching to Moslem masses on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Friday, has brought it out into the open: the call to restore the Moslem Khalifate, or, "Genuine Islamic Rule."
A plan for the "Return of the Khalifate" was published secretly in 2002 by a group called "The Guiding Helper Foundation." The group explained that it wished to "give direction to the educated Muslim populace in its increasing interest in the establishment of Islam as a practical system of rule."
I'm shocked, shocked to find Imams suddenly preaching a return of the Khalifate and Shariah and the rest of the lot. I thought we had reached a kindler, gentler Islam

It's probably just a tiny minority of extremists.

Malaysia bans the cartoons online, promises crackdown

Action if Prophet's caricatures posted on the Internet - Shaziman

(Bernama) -- Action will be taken under the Multimedia and Communications Act against anyone found to have posted or distributed the offensive cartoons of [the alleged] Prophet Muhammad, Deputy Minister of Energy, Water and Communications Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor warned Friday.

He said provisions in the Act were clear against anyone found to have posted or distributed materials containing pornographic elements, humiliating, degrading or damaging the reputation of any party [except Israel, Jews, and Zionists] was liable to a maximum fine of RM50,000 (US $ 13,157) or jailed for not less than a year, or both, upon conviction.

"If they're convicted and they're found to have repeated the offence, they will be fined RM1,000 (US $ 263) a day for posting or distributing through the Internet," he told reporters after the opening of an exhibition by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

He said this when asked to comment on public concerns over posting and distributing of the controversial caricatures on the Internet which could be a subject of poking fun and ridicule by some people.

Stressing that the ministry was monitoring the matter, Shaziman said the people could co-operate by lodging complaints to the Multimedia and Communications Commission so that the ministry could detect the source which posted or distributed the caricatures.
Can I lodge a complaint with this commission about their own official government censorship and oppression of free expression? Hmmm, probably not a good idea.

Extremists on the Loose in Manchester

"Extremists have been blamed after a cartoon featuring the prophet Mohammed with a bomb in his turban was put up in a housing office in Oldham...." Hat Tip Tim Blair

I was going to title this post “Armed with Cartoon” or “The Infidel Strikes Back” or perhaps "I'm Shocked, Shocked!" Perhaps the guy/gal took my suggestion: we should put that picture on every lamp post!

The thin veil of moderate muslims?....'Western values a sickness'

thanks to LGF, FROM CANADA....

We were ...surprised M(ontreal)M(uslim)N(ews) would comment on a statement made by Australian Treasurer Peter Costello that Muslim immigrants should adapt to Australian values as follows:

Calling on Muslim (sic) to embrace western values, or in this case Australian values, is merely coded speech calling on us to leave our faith. For believing Muslims our set of values are based on the Quran and the noble example of the prophet Muhammad. If we look deeply into the sickness of what passes for "western values" one can see why we choose Allah over human made systems of morality and conduct.

Allah unambigously says in the Holy Quran:

"O you who believe, obey Allaah and obey His Messenger, and the people in authority among you. And if you dispute over anything, refer it to Allaah and His Messenger if you really believe in Allaah and the Last Day, that is best in terms of consequences." (4:59)

"And he who does not rule by what Allaah sent down, it is they who are the disbelievers." (5:44)

"And he who does not rule by what Allaah sent down, it is they who are the wrongdoers." (5:45)

"And he who does not rule by what Allaah sent down, it is they who are the rebellious." (5:47)"

It was only a matter of time until MMN would make its Salafi creed unmistakably clear by overtly expressing such utter contempt for Western civilization and Muslims who strike a balance between religious imperatives and Western values. The fact that the site is hosted by Montreal Muslim Council President Salam Elmenyawi is all the more worrying, when one considers how Mr. Elmenyawi has become in the eye of the media the go-to Muslim for statements supposedly representative of Montreal's Muslim community.

There can be only one end, if this is the will of muslims who DO speak up, while others remain silent, as if already in their graves. It seems simply that those whom westerners, little more than the useful idiots who were tools for the politburo in their hopeful naeivity, have annointed as moderates, such as Siddiqui here, the vanilla efforting CAIR-ites, Qaradawi ( a moderate to Newsweek), and these people, continually when watched reveal themselves ineluctably, inevitably, -psychologically unable to control the vast fertilizer of pure hatreds for freedom their interpretation of god's word has spawned

Made-in-Israel Paper Cups Used in Local Hospital
Samir Al-Saadi, Arab News

JEDDAH, 22 August 2005 — Paper cups with Hebrew writing disturbed both employees and medical staff at King Khaled National Guard Hospital on Saturday. The catering subcontractor for the hospital coffee shops began using them on Saturday after their usual supply ran out.

“We were shocked and angry,” said an employee. “How can Israeli products be allowed and how did they enter this hospital?” he asked.

The Filipino employee who works in the Al-Musbah coffee shop asked: “Why is everybody mad about the cups?” He was told: “Because they are made in Israel!”

According to hospital officials, the matter is being investigated and action will be taken.

Saleh Al-Mazroi, executive director for operations at KKNGH, said the matter had been referred to authorities in Riyadh and was being dealt with.

On the bottom of the paper cup was a website address and a telephone number. When Arab News looked at the website — www.orion-rancal.co.il. — it was found to be in Hebrew though there were a few words of English: “Israeli disposable paper, plastic and foam dinnerware supplier for restaurants.”

Arab News contacted Ibrahim Al-Musbah, manager and owner, who said, “I thank you for informing me. I will look into it personally and the offending articles will be disposed of.” He added that the company has a supplier in the Kingdom from whom they buy restaurant supplies. According to Al-Musbah, the supplier might be unaware of the problem.

Al-Musbah later contacted Arab News and said that the paper cups had come to his company by mistake. The cups were in a cardboard box that looked exactly like the ones his company normally receives and so the employees did not notice any difference. Al-Musbah added that the supplier was named “Jeelani” and that he would supply Arab News with his contact numbers today.

The paper cups were quickly withdrawn from use but might there not be other, less obvious, Israeli products in our shops and marketplaces?

Dear me, can The Kingdom ever be safe? I certainly hope that they check those marketplaces quickly......

Islamic Basketball

From the February 19, 2006 Chicago Tribune and reprinted in the February 25, 2006 Washington Post:

"...[T]he girls can't accept that they have only been allowed to compete against girls basketball teams from other Muslim schools. There are only four in the Chicago area, they complain, and their competition isn't exactly tough.

"Since last year they've been beseeching Coach Farida Abusafa, 26, an English teacher who also coaches sports, to ask public schools and non-Muslim private schools if their girls teams would be willing to compete against girls from the Universal School.

"The problem is the schools would have to agree to bar men and boys above the age of puberty from watching the games.

"'It's not like it's a sin to play a public school,' Abusafa said. 'The problem is the males coming to the game.'

"The dilemma underscores the balancing act many Muslims perform as they toggle between American and Middle Eastern culture....

"Conceivably, the Muslim girls could play in headscarves, sweat pants and long sleeves. But the bulky attire might make playing difficult, they said...."

Too bad! If these Muslim girls feel so strongly about the restrictions of Islamic law, let them play games against other Muslim schools. After all, the parents of the boys in the public schools are paying the taxes which support the schools' sports programs.

We don't need to Islamify basketball!

Texas Poison 'Em

Ricin discovered in University of Texas dorm:
AUSTIN - A University of Texas student found a substance that has tested positive for ricin, a potentially deadly poison, in a roll of quarters she was using to do laundry in her dormitory, officials said.

The student and her roommate were being treated for potential exposure to the poison, although neither has exhibited symptoms, said Dr. Theresa Spalding of UT Student Health Services.

The student told university police she found the chunky powder Thursday as she was doing her laundry at the Moore-Hill dormitory, Spalding said. Preliminary tests for ricin came back positive Friday.

“We were very concerned as soon as we heard about the positive testing late this evening,” Spalding said. She said the quarters had been in the students’ dorm room for several months.

Ricin is extracted from castor beans and can be added to food or water, injected or sprayed as an aerosol. It can be in the form of a powder, mist, pellet, or it can be dissolved in water or weak acid.

Symptoms can include anything from difficulty breathing, fever, cough, nausea and sweating to severe vomiting and dehydration.

The dorm was sanitized and inspected, and students were cleared to return, the university said.

France mourns death of Ilan Halimi

I hadn't time to post about this earlier, but I'd very much like to thank Michelle Malkin for taking the time to post about it. Halimi was murdered by a gang led by a black Muslim ganglord who may have come from the Ivory Coast after a blonde woman, who may have been Arabic herself, seduced him and led him to be captured by the gang so they could hold him for ransom, and then, when finding out he was Jewish, murdered him on those grounds. No-Pasaran's got more info, including mugshots of the Muslim scumbag who'd murdered Halimi.

From Haaretz:
Cries of "vive la France" and "la justice" accompanied President Jacques Chirac, his wife Bernadette and Premier Dominique de Villepin last night as they left the memorial evening held here yesterday for Ilan Halimi.

The ceremony, which was held in the Grand Synagogue on rue de la Victoire, was seen by many in the Jewish community as the state leaders' formal declaration that anti-Semitism was to blame for the horrific kidnapping, torture and murder of the 23-year-old Parisian.

At 5 P.M., two hours before the ceremony's official opening, police cars surrounded the synagogue area. Police at roadblocks inspected the bag of everyone who entered the area. Hundreds of thousands of people crowded on either side of the street, waiting their turn to enter the synagogue. At the synagogue's entrance police used metal detectors and checked the identity cards and passports of all who pushed in.

The synagogue's 3,000 seats were full, dozens more mourners stood in the aisles and many thousands remained outside and could not get in.

During the chilling ceremony, an 8-year-old read the Psalm "I will raise my eyes to the mountains, whence will come my help?" near a giant picture of Halimi.

Halimi's family and others in the Jewish community said that had the authorities admitted earlier that the young man had been attacked for being a Jew, he could possibly have been saved.

Halimi was found dying, covered with burns and cuts, on Monday February 13. He had been kidnapped three weeks earlier, after a Muslim gang sent a blonde to seduce him. Halimi had agreed to meet with her after meeting in a chat room. Immediately after his abduction his mother went to the police, saying he was kidnapped by anti-Semites. Sources in the community said three Jewish youngsters had managed to escape similar abdications in recent months.

The police told Halimi's mother, Ruth, to stop all telephone connection with the kidnappers, as a way of forcing them to use electronic mail, which was traceable.

The police did not know that during the five days in which the kidnappers tried in vain to contact Halimi's family, Halimi suffered terrible torture. One of the kidnappers said, "We put our cigarettes out on him because he was a Jew."
Caroline Glick notes that the Islamic gang appears to have connections to the Hamas as well:
Anti-Semitism in the Muslim dominated suburbs of Paris and other French cities is all-encompassing. As Nidra Poller related in Thursday's Wall Street Journal, "One of the most troubling aspects of this affair is the probable involvement of relatives and neighbors, beyond the immediate circle of the gang [of kidnappers], who were told about the Jewish hostage and dropped in to participate in the torture."

It appears that Ilan Halimi's murderers had some connection to Hamas. Tuesday, French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said that police found propaganda published by the Palestinian Charity Committee or the CBSP at the home of one of the suspects. The European Jewish Press reported this week that Israel has alleged that the organization is a front group for Palestinian terrorists and that in August 2003 the US government froze the organization's US bank accounts, accusing it of links with Hamas.
Halimi's family alleges that throughout the 20 days of Ilan's captivity, the French police refused to take the anti-Semitic motivations of the kidnappers into account. The investigators insisted on viewing his kidnap as a garden variety kidnap-for-ransom criminal case, which they said generally involves no threat to the life of the captive. The police maintained their refusal to investigate the anti-Semitic motivations of the kidnappers in spite of the fact that in their e-mail and telephone communications with Ilan's family, his captors repeatedly referred to his Judaism, and on at least one occasion recited verses from the Koran while Ilan was heard screaming in agony in the background. The family alleges that if the police had been willing to acknowledge that Ilan was abducted because he was Jewish, they would have recognized that his life was in clear and immediate danger and acted with greater urgency.
The police in France, and in fact, in many other places around the world, are going to have to start showing some serious reform.

Glick also notes something else very disturbing about this case:
In addition to the exterminationist anti-Semitism of Ilan's murderers and the unwillingness of the French authorities to acknowledge the anti-Semitic nature of the crime until it was too late, there is one more aspect of the case that bears note. That is Israel's reaction to the atrocity. In short, there has been absolutely no official Israeli reaction to the abduction, torture and murder of a Jew in France by a predominantly Muslim terrorist gang that kidnapped, tortured and murdered him because he was a Jew.

No Israeli government minister, official or spokesman has condemned his murder. No Israeli official has demanded that the French authorities investigate why the police refused to take anti-Semitism into account during Ilan's captivity. No Israeli official flew to Paris to participate in Ilan's funeral or any other memorial or demonstration in his memory. The Foreign Ministry's Web site makes no mention of his murder. The Israeli Embassy in Paris - which has been without an ambassador for the past several months - only publicly expressed its condolences to the Halimi family on February 23, 10 days after Ilan was found. This, when the French Jewish community considers Halimi's murder to have been the greatest calamity to have befallen it in recent years; when aliya rates rose 25% last year; and when Ilan's mother has told reporters that her son had planned to make aliya soon and was just staying in France to save money to finance his move to Israel. For its part, as Michelle Mazel pointed out in The Jerusalem Post yesterday, the French press has noted that the Israeli media has not given the story prominent coverage. Halimi's murder has not appeared on the front pages of the papers or at the top of the television or radio broadcasts.
Although appalling, the absence of an official Israeli outcry against Halimi's murder is not the least surprising. Today, the unelected Kadima interim government, like the Israeli media, is doing everything in its power to lull the Israeli people into complacency towards the storm of war raging around us. Against the daily barrages of Kassam rockets on southern Israel; nervous reports of al-Qaida setting up shop in Judea, Samaria and Gaza; the ascension of Hamas to power in the Palestinian Authority; and Iran's threats of nuclear annihilation, Israel's citizenry, under the spell of Kadima and the media, appears intent on ignoring the dangers and pretending that what happens to Jews in France has nothing to do with us.

Israel's societal meekness accords well with Kadima's ideology. Its creed was best expressed by Foreign Minister, Justice Minister and Immigration Minister Tzipi Livni last month at the Herzliya Conference and is best characterized as "conditional Zionism." In her speech, Livni explained that Israel's international legitimacy is conditional. Unless a Palestinian state is established in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, she warned, Israel will lose its legitimacy as a Jewish state.

So for Livni, Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Shimon Peres and the rest of the Kadima gang, unlike every other people in the world, the Jewish people does not have an inherent, natural right to exist as a free, sovereign and independent people in its homeland. For Kadima, the Jewish people's right to self-determination in our land years is conditional on our enemies' acceptance of our right to be here.

Kadima's conditional Zionism finds expression in its policies in Judea and Samaria. There, the gist of the government's actions is that the only people with inherent human rights in Judea and Samaria are the Arabs.
If would-be governments like Kadima, led by people like Olmert, whose own corrupt activities were exposed recently, and can be read about in these earlier topics, are going to be the ones leading the country, acts of anti-Semitism like the horrifying murder of Halimi will never be effectively dealt with.

See also Debbie Schlussel's report, which notes that Halimi's family, of Sephardic descent, came from north Africa to France to get away from anti-Semitism, and also Melanie Phillips' report (via Israpundit).

Ikea supports female subjugation

When IKEA first approached TheHijabShop.com, their excited team was impressed that an internationally-acclaimed company like IKEA was making so much effort to accommodate Muslims in its workforce. (…) The IKEA branding was added by using a navy blue coloured cloth, with a thin yellow line bordering the top of the cap and the edge of the bottom part of the hijab, finishing it off with the IKEA logo embroidered on the back.

Some Very Enlightening Thoughts From Ali Sina

This is an excerpt from an interview with Ali Sina from his site www.faithfreedom.org:

Jarek:
Q04: You are asking people to mock Islam. By making fun of it and insulting its dogmas and principles you think good and intelligent people will start to be ashamed of being Muslims and will abandon this religion. However, the cartoons published by Jyllands Posten were only very mild, and yet the reaction of the Muslims worldwide was the opposite. They reacted in unison, in some countries even violent, killing tens of Christians and their faith seems to become even stronger. How do you explain that?

Sina:
Why do you think they reacted so violently? It is because you pressed their sore spot. If you are strong you can take a punch and not flinch, but if you have a sore spot, all it takes to bring you to your knee is a nudge on that sore spot. Muslims committed the huge blunder of revealing their vulnerability. Now the world knows what hurts them. When you find your opponent’s weak spot, it is exactly where you want to hit him. (See this!)

Muhammad was a narcissist and Muslims, by having entered into his bubble universe have become narcissists by extension. More precisely, they are reverse narcissists. A commonly used term for reverse narcissist is co-dependent.

The biggest preoccupation of the narcissist is the preservation of his image. But the reverse narcissists do not have self image. The narcissist destroys the self image of his co-dependants and gives them his own image to cling to. He destroys their identity and selfhood and makes them believe that their glory and greatness is in their submission and obedience to him. He makes them swallow that without him they are nothing. That they are like specks of dust floating in the air, invisible and insignificant, but they can light up and become visible if they come under his light. That is how the narcissist controls his co-dependants.

The first thing Islam does is to destroy the self image of the believers. It convinces them that without Islam they are worthless creatures only fit for hellfire. It tells them that their culture is jahelyyah (ignorance) and their ancestral religion was taaghoti (satanic). They are made to despise their identity and selfhood and seek their glory in their submission to Islam and slavery to its deity who was Muhammad’s own alter ego. Islam has taken everything from its wretched believers. They are robbed from their identity and self pride. All they have now is Islam. That is why Islam for Muslims is more than just a religion. It is their identity. When you criticize Islam, they perceive it as an attack on their identity and cringe with pain. They take that not only as an insult but also as an assault on their person. Like a corned animal they become vicious and fight back with all their might – a fight of survival. That is why you see such a violent reaction to a few silly cartoons.

Why we must continue the campaign of humiliation and ridicule? It’s because we must destroy that false image of Islam to which the Muslims cling for their identity. That idol must be smashed. When that false image is destroyed there would be nothing left to cling to and only then the Muslims will be able to find themselves and recover their lost selfhood. The co-dependant must see that his narcissist, the object of his adoration, is not that great but a fraud, a loser, a clown. This can't be done through logical argumentations alone. By trying to disprove the claims of a fruitcake with philosophical and logical expostulations and remonstrations you give him importance. Muhammad was an idiot, a psychopath, a crackpot. He needs to be laughed at not disproved. What is there to disprove about splitting the moon, climbing the seventh heaven riding on the back of a horse with human face and meeting dead prophets who tell him to bargain with God to reduce the number of prayers from 50 to 5 times per day? Is God stupider than his prophets? The entire Quran is a big joke. If it was not so violent, it would be the biggest comic book ever written.

Muhammad was a jackass. People who believe in him are stupid. Let us call a spade as spade. These people must be laughed at. They, and their screwball prophet have to be ridiculed not respected. Let them cringe, let them wince, let them agonize. We must demolish this fetish and break the shackles of these wretched people. They must be set free and the only way to do that is to demolish their fetish.

Once Muhammad is ridiculed, once this talisman is destroyed, Muslims will be liberated and they will leave Islam. When that happens they'll thank you.

It is not difficult to destroy Islam. Islam is the pumped up ego of a megalomaniac psychopath. Muhammad was a narcissist madman. Just as a huge balloon can be deflated by a small needle, all it takes to make Islam explode is to ridicule its loony inventor and its brainless followers.

Shame works! I have seen it work many times. It worked for me. It was not just the truth but also the savagery of the Muslims that made me want to distance myself from Islam. I was ashamed of Islam; I was embarrassed of what Muhammad had done and what Muslims were doing. I thought to myself, what would I say if people find out the truth about Muhammad’s perversions and ask me, how can you follow a pedophile? What is your opinion about the ridiculous scientific and logical blunders of the Quran? Wouldn't that be embarrassing? Wouldn't I look like a fool? Shame works on those who have the sense of shame. Those are the ones we want to rescue. Shame does not work on those who have no shame. Those we don't want anyway. Let the fools remain Muslims. We want to salvage intelligent and good people who call themselves Muslims by error.

I know the Muslim psychology. It is all pomposity and bravado. I give you my word that if Islam is ridiculed publicly and systematically, it will be defeated. Shame is a great motivator as well as deterrent. Do not underestimate the power of ridicule. This is serious stuff not a laughing matter.

****************************

This is a very important point that Sina makes, that muslims have shown their weak point, a point which may be exploited and should be. I have no doubt that it will continue to be exploited, if only in the spirit of American creativity, entrepreneurship and standing up to bullies. In fact, one news report has already stated that Orriana Fallaci is working on her own Muhammad cartoon. I can't wait!

This is the part of this interview that deals with the cartoons. For the full interview, see www.faithfreedom.org.

Ahoy, Osama!

(Posted yesterday at Mystery Achievement)

James K. Glassman comments on President Bush's support for a Dubai-based company, and has a Marlon Brando/General Kurtz white-hot bullet moment:
And Dubai -- I don't have to tell you -- is an Arab nation. Yes, two of the 9/11 hijackers were citizens of the UAE, but, then again, as Ivan Eland of the Independent Institute notes, Richard Reid, the attempted "shoe bomber," was a British citizen, and Jose Padilla, among others, is an American citizen (as was Timothy McVeigh). The UAE has been a staunch ally in the war on terror, training security forces in Iraq and helping to cut off the flow of money to al Qaeda.

Isn't this precisely what the United States preaches? Don't we want places like Dubai to fight terror and to grow, to invest, to buy, to trade, to adopt Western commercial practices, to expose themselves to the rest of the world and thus become tolerant and moderate?

Instead, congressional leaders are trying to kill the deal, which is set to go into effect next week. Why? "Outsourcing the operations of our largest ports to a country with a dubious record on terrorism is a homeland security and commerce accident waiting to happen," says Schumer.

This is rank racist nonsense. Schumer knows very well that responsibility for port security in the United States lies not with DP World or any other operator, but instead with the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Customs. "Nothing changes with respect to security under the contract," said Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. "The Coast Guard is in charge of security, not the corporation."

Using Schumeresque logic, the U.S. should ban flights into the U.S. by airlines from Arab countries, and we should certainly bar any cargo from being loaded in Arab ports and bound for the U.S. ("If you are worried about a bomb in a box going off in New York, you need to worry about who loads the container overseas rather than the terminal operator who unloads it in the U.S.," says someone who actually knows something about port security, Theodore Price of Optimization Alternatives, a Texas company that provides terminal-operating software.) In fact, one would suppose that Dubai, with billions at stake, would be more careful -- not less -- about assisting in anti-terror activities at U.S. ports if it is actually operating them.
Yeah, unless the loader and the terminal operator are in cahoots to smuggle deadly contraband into a U.S. port, James. Nice try, too, trying to scare us conservatives into thinking we're anything-goes, free-market libertarians by quoting a DEMOCRATIC!! Congressman. Problem is, we haven't exactly been "racist" up to this point in our choice of who operates our ports.CNN gets slammed frequently (and deservedly) for the "Bring Me The Head Of George W. Bush" slant it puts on the news. But I find that its stories often reward those who have the patience to stick it out until the last paragraph. As in, the last paragraph of this one:
Foreign-owned companies operate many ports in the United States. For example, companies from China, Denmark, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan run docks in Los Angeles, California.
Check it out, yo! All kinds o' non-Caucasians in that line-up! And what do they all have in common? Two very essential things, if you stop and think about it:

1. They've never sponsored or otherwise supported a terrorist attack on American soil.

2. The vast majority of their citizens are not Muslims.

The charge of "racism" against Americans who fear a group not for the color of their skin, or their last names, but for what their religion tells them to do is a canard employed frequently by both Islamist propogandists and the self-haters of the Western Left every time we show some signs that we are willing not only to take the military fight to our enemies, but--and especially--when we actively exposes the lies that both the Islamists and the W.L. use to try to convince us that "resistance is futile."

Which is why I have believed for a long time now that there is absolutely no meaningful difference between the two aforementioned groups and self-indulgent, libertarian anarchists like James Glassman, Glenn Reynolds, and their like when it comes to loving and defending the shreds and shards that are left of the moral and ethical patrimony of the Judeo-Christian West. To wit: They are not interested in it at all, as long as whatever result of whatever happens gives them as much time and cash as they want to spend on Russian hookers and crack--or whatever else tickles their fancies.

And as if any more evidence were needed that President Bush's plan is the bastard offspring of a tube of Testor's and a room with poor circulation, Time.com lands the coup de grace:
As the simmering dispute boiled over, it looked as if Bush’s only high-profile supporter would be former president Jimmy Carter, who said on CNN that he did not think the deal was a threat to the United States or its security.[...]
Go ahead. Rub your eyes. Blink. Now read it again.Jimmy Effen Carter does not think the deal is a threat to our security. What else do you need to know, people?

ADDENDUM 251325Z FEB 06: Joseph D'Hippolito emails a link to a must-read post from Gates of Vienna that takes the opposite view of President Bush's decision; justifying it based on both the President's character and track record, and the possibility that he's forging a coalition to drop the hammer on Iran--one that includes the U.A.E. and other Arab Muslim countries. At this point, who knows? For now, I'll echo the sentiments of Baron Bodissey's reader, Shellback: Although I am a fan of Bush's, I won't drink Kool-Aid for him. Or anybody else, for that matter.

How Does One Get Stoned in Iran?

How Does One Get "Stoned" in Iran?

Thanks to both The Religion of Peace and What Would Charles Martel Do for the photograph, and to Charles for this text:

"Death by stoning in Iran has. . . become a brutal abuse of power and a barbaric example of outright defiance of the International Declaration of Human Rights as well as most modern standards. Treatment of women in many islamic countries fall under this category of course, but that is another issue.

The method of execution by stoning (usually for the crime of adultery) used in Iran involves burying a woman to her shoulders and then stoning her to death with rocks of a specified size. The intent behind the specification of rock size is to have the executioners not use stones that would not do enough damage nor to use larger ones which might kill or render the victim unconscious immediately, the implication of course being to inflict as much suffering as possible.

The face of the woman in a picture smuggled out of Iran in 1992 haunts me, and though I have searched, I have been unable to find her story. The story of a woman killed in the same Iranian town if Arak in 1994 has been reported on, and is one of the most horrific things I have possibly ever heard of. This woman (name unknown to me) was buried in preparation and her last request to have her husband and children sent away so as not to see her execution was denied.

During the stoning, this woman managed to dig her way free, despite the fact that her eyes were gouged out, and began to run away. According to some reports, this method of escape ends the execution. This woman, however, was chased down and shot by a firing squad."

Thank you again, TROP and What.

I, too, had seen a description of actual eyewitness account of a stoning, but it was quite a long time ago. I believe I have found it again, however, and will include it here. The process is every bit as horrendous as you might imagine.

The victim of this barbaric torture was named Soraya, and the whole story of Soraya M's death is in a book ("The Stoning of Soraya M., by Freidoune Sahebjam, available at Amazon.com and other bookstores). The article I found with this material in it is at : http://hammihan.20fr.com.

The author states:

"Over the past fifteen years, more than 1000 women have been stoned to death in Iran. Here is the true and shocking story of one such woman." The book is based on an eyewitness account and it documents, day by day and hour by hour, a terrible miscarriage of justice.

I will reproduce selected elements from the front and back flaps of the jacket and from the text of the book itself here as accompaniment to the picture above.

From the jacket:

"The woman who had been sentenced to death stood facing the silent crowd. Her head was held high, and her eyes were fixed on old Zayhra, who was staring back at her. . .[the crowd grew] more and more restive as they looked at the defenseless woman being lowered into the pit. Stone in hand, they awaited Machdi Ebrahim's orders.

Soraya M.'s husband, Ghorban-Ali, was a shiftless, ambitious man, prone to rages and dreams of wealth. . .[who] wanted to get out of his marriage. . .

"The gravediggers returned with their shovels and spades and began to fill up the hole. With each shovelful of dirt, they intoned "In the name of Allah!"

And from the text of the book itself:

"Sheik Hassan. . .raised high the Koran and said: 'May the will of the Almighty be done, and may Islamic law be carried out.'

"It was then that everything began.

"With a sweeping gesture of both his arms, Machdi Ebrahim motioned for the crowd to move back several steps. He took a piece of cord from his pocket and counted out fifteen cubits. He carefully cut the cord and handed it to Shokrollah. 'This measures somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty-two to twenty-five feet,' he said. 'Using the hole as your center, go draw me a circle. Mark it with quicklime.'

"Using Soraya's head as the center, Shokrollah drew a circle on the ground.

"The mayor took a stone and handed it to Soraya's father: 'It is to you,' he said, 'that befalls the honor throwing the first stone. . .'

"The old man. . .took the large stone in his hand. . .and as he threw the stone with all his might. . .he shouted: 'Allah be praised! . . . There, whore, take that!'

"He missed the mark. . . Four times he tried to strike his daughter, in vain. In a state of rage, he said: 'Give me another stone. I'm going to crush her skull. . .I'm going to split open the woman's head!

"Then it was Ghorban-Ali's turn. . .

" 'Your turn, my boy,' the mayor said to him affectionately, 'and may God guide your arm.'

"The presumably cuckolded husband drew back his arm and then launched his stone, which streaked toward the woman's head missing by a scant six inches.

". . .a second stone. . .just grazed the woman's head. . . a third stone was thrown, this one striking the victim's right shoulder. A barely audible sound came from her mouth, and her chest gave a slight shudder.

"The crowd was screaming hysterically now, and there were ripples of applause from the men. The shadow of a smile flitted across Ghorban-Ali's face; he picked up another stone, aimed more carefully, and threw it as hard as he could. This time the stone struck the woman on the forehead, just at the hairline. The skin burst open, blood began to trickle down her face, as Soraya's head jerked violently backward.

"That's it, you got her! Good for you, Ghorban-Ali. He got her, did you see? Throw another stone, go ahead, give the slut what she deserves!

"The victim's two sons were next. They both picked up stones and threw them at the same time. One of them struck her on the head. There was a sound, like a loud hiccup, as her head jerked back.

"Now the stones were flying thick and fast. . .only a few feet in front of [the crowd] was a head [that] kept bobbing to and fro in time to the stones that were striking it. . . despite the mayor's dire warning, the villagers had been creeping closer and closer to their target, and as a result, there were many more direct hits than when the spectacle began.

"Finally it was Sheik Hassan's turn. He put his Koran in his left hand and, with his right, picked up a large stone. . .he turned back to the crowd and said. . .'I am not the one who is throwing this stone. . .It is God who is guiding my arm. . . It is he who commands me and the revenge I am meting out is not for me, but for our imam, revenge for the heinous crive this woman has committed. . .I shall throw as many stones as it takes to kill this bitch. And afterward the rest of you can throw your stones as well.

"In the center of the circle, Soraya was slowly expiring. Her head and chest were little more than a shapeless mass of bloody flesh. The noisy crowd, completely out of control, broke ranks and moved in even closer, ready for the kill. Her scalp was nothing more than a gaping wound; her jaw had exploded; her eyes and nose burst open. Her head drooped at a grotesque angle. . .over what remained of her right shoulder."

"Hassan, his robe spattered with blood, raised his arm. . .'My dear friends. . .listen to me for a moment. . .I believe that God has done his work. . . Would someone like to check and make certain the harlot is dead?

"Several men raised their hands. Hassan picked Said the well digger. The man lay down on the ground right next to the victim and put his year close to Soraya's open mouth. 'She's still alive. . .The bitch still hasn't died.'

"A man slowly stepped forward, holding a stone above his head with both hands, and brought it down directly on top of her skull. Another followed, and picked up a brick that was lying there next to the victim, and hit her furious with it half a dozen times. The skull burst open, and the brains spilled out onto the ground.

"Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar!

"A sudden silence came over the assembly. Then. . .the crowd intoned, together with the mullah: 'In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful."

Jyllands-Posten Newspaper Wins 2 Awards

Like getting an Oscar and an Emmy!!

The Jyllands-Posten Newspaper has won the Victor Prize as well as The Winston Churchill Golden Balls Award.

Quite an accomplishment by anyone's standards!

Copenhagen - Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which angered the Muslim world by publishing cartoons of Prophet Muhammad last year, has won a Danish critical journalism award for its initiative, the jury said. Denmark’s largest daily was honoured with the Victor Prize for “having opened everyone’s eyes by showing how easy it is to introduce cracks in freedom of expression and how so-called political correctness is infiltrating what we believe to be inalienable rights,” Hans Engell, the editor of tabloid Ekstra Bladet which awards the prize, said during a prize ceremony in Copenhagen late on Thursday.

The Victor Prize, named for the late editor-in-chief of Ekstra Bladet Victor Andreasen, was handed to Jyllands-Posten’s editor Carsten Juste.

“This prize is awarded to Jyllands-Posten for its adamant defence for months of freedom of expression, which is under threat,” Engell told AFP. “Jyllands-Posten only did its duty: exercise its right to freedom of expression,” he added.

Juste, guarded by two secret service bodyguards, noted “how fragile freedom of expression is” as he accepted the award, his newspaper reported.

Cartoonifada 2006: The Unacceptable Consequences

The Vatican has since made statements, and the MSM has begun to cover events in Nigeria (note: now that the Christians have struck back), but this was my take as of yesterday......

I feel that I must at least attempt to shake readers back to reality before I delve deeper into this issue of the muslim outrage and unacceptable response to the now infamous "mohammad cartoons". The response on the part of the muslim world, especially in areas where there have been mounting death tolls, but also in the US where at least one muslim spokesperson has stated that, "free speech is not absolute", is not a response that we in the West can take seriously as a rational, civilized response to what were in reality simple cartoons. We must remember this, they were CARTOONS, people.

Now that I've made clear the triviality of the issue that has sparked these now deadly responses from Dar al Islam, I must insist that the responses that we have seen over the last few weeks are entirely unacceptable and must be condemned, and condemned without any caveats. Certainly with no caveats concerning our rights to freedom of expression and free speech. No religious figures deserve a pass here, and certainly not the founder of a religion whose numerous media continue to crank out rather blasphemous cartoons regarding other religions. I'd say that Mohammad is as fair game as anyone, and the fact that criticism of this "prophet" is usually followed up with a death threat should only further our outrage to this response. Step outside of the current situation for a moment and imagine that author Dan Brown was in hiding with a price on his head for what he wrote about Jesus and Christianity in his book The DaVinci Code. Point taken?

What I consider to be "unacceptable costs" in this current round of madness from the muslim "ummah" began with the protest signs themselves, as well as the obvious staging of the event. We now know that it took from the original publication of the cartoons in Denmark's Jyllands-Posten in September until February to see the organized response. We also know that this response was largely due to a tour of Middle Eastern countries by Palestinian/Danish Imam Abu Laban with a collection of cartoons that included several "fakes" that had never been published by any Danish or other European media outlets. Nevertheless, we suddenly saw protests, many quite violent, and protesters carrying signs obviously meant for the international media, as they were (regardless of the country where the protests were taking place) all printed out in English. This fact alone is curious enough. The fact that many of the slogans on these signs were of a violent and offensive nature was the debut, in my opinion, of the unacceptable response, as was the burning of embassies in some initial riots......

  • What Would Charles Martel Do?
  • "Yes Amrozi, we do remember Khaibar"

This fine article authored by Mark Durie first appeared in the Australian periodical Quadrant in Nov 2003. A worthy read, it has some important information that all infidels who wish to resist jihad need to know...

When Amrozi bin Nurhasin, the smiling Bali bomber, entered a Bali courtroom on the day of his sentencing, he was shouting "Jews, remember Khaibar. The army of Muhammad is coming back to defeat you." What was this Khaibar, and why should it be remembered?

In the time of Muhammad, Khaibar was a fertile oasis in the Arabian desert. It was populated by Jews, who maintained its irrigation systems and lived off its produce. When Muhammad conquered the oasis in 628, the Jews who lived there managed to negotiate a surrender. The conditions of their surrender were that some of them could remain to tend the date palms and gardens, but in return they had to pay 50% of their harvest to the Muslims. The land itself would henceforth belong to the Muslim community. The Jews of Khaibar were also granted permission to keep practising their faith. Soon after, the Arab Christians of Najran were forced to accept the same conditions.

The right of the Jews of Khaibar to stay on their former lands was a temporary concession, withdrawn in 640 by Umar, in obedience to Muhammad’s dying wish: ‘Two religions shall not remain together in the peninsula of the Arabs’. In this same year the whole of Arabia was cleansed of non-Muslims.

Khaibar is a name all Muslims jurists will recognize, since it was the conquest of Khaibar which set the precedent in Islamic case law for the subsequent treatment of non-Muslims who surrendered to Islamic conquest and rule. (Khaibar also provided Muhammad with one of his wives, Safiya, a leading Jewish woman of Khaibar whom he selected for himself from among the enslaved captives.)

The discriminatory shari’a regulations applying to non-Muslims, who are referred to in Islamic law as dhimmis, are based upon the precedent of Khaibar. Through a twist of history the defeat of the Jews of this little-known Arabian oasis helped determine the treatment of many millions of non-Muslims after Islamic conquest, including the once-vast Christian populations of the Middle East.

For this reason, the name of Khaibar has great significance for us all. For extremist Muslims like Amrozi, it stands for the defeat of infidel enemies, and their humiliation and subjugation under shari’a conditions, an enduring signpost to the hope of an Islamist victory. For non-Muslims this name stands for centuries of obliterated history and oppressive discrimination, referred to by Bat Ye’or, historian of the dhimmis, as dhimmitude.

Amrozi the smiling terrorist was right — we should all remember Khaibar, as a turning point in world history. Today the precedent of Khaibar continues to shape the lives of the Jews of Iran, the Copts in Egypt, Africans in the Sudan, Pakistani Christians, Hindus and Zoroastrians, and many more. Widespread discrimination against non-Muslims is endemic in Islamic nations, to a significant degree, and there are signs that the problem is getting worse in the twenty first century, not better.

Amrozi’s laughing face has been constantly on the front page of Australian newspapers in recent months. The grief felt over the casualties in the Bali attacks is profound. So it was a irony that, when the Australian newspaper reported Amrozi’s words on the day after his sentencing, the editors did not recognize the name of Khaibar and misspelled it as Hibah. Despite its landmark significance for interfaith relations, the name of Khaibar now seems to be forgotten, its significance obscured. The fate of the Jews of Khaibar had momentous consequences for world history, yet this page of history has been torn out of the non-Muslim world’s collective consciousness. It is time for it to be returned to its rightful place.

    Indeed.

Demonstration in Madrid for the freedom of expression

And the Ents keep moving (thanks, Pastorius)

To all people living in Spain: the next March 4th, Saturday, a demonstration will be held in Madrid supporting the freedom of expression, in the surroundings of the Monument of the Constitution, at 12:30. It's organized by the Liberal Youths (you know, Liberal in Europe does not mean the same as in America..., it means standing for freedoms).

    The manifesto runs:
The freedom of press in the democratic countris is menaced by the fanatic fundamentalists that have sworn to kill anyone who draws Mohammed. In this situation we only can show our incondicional solidarity with the people that are targets of fanatics, and to proclaim the freedom of expression as an inalienable human right. It should not be disminished by the murderers' violence or the politics' cowardice.
There are people who have been their targets for decades. That is why showing our solidarity with all the Muslims that must live in silence and support the odious tyranny of their corrupt Governments or the permanent menace of the integrists. All of them must know we will fight for our and their own freedom. We reclaim for them the same freedoms that we have and of which we are not going to be deprived easily.
In this time when the first reaction is to be "prudent" we have to take a moment of reflexion and take into account that we are free, and that this freedom, that has been so costly, is menaced.
This is moment in which we have to compromise firmly with freedom: we have to support our democratic convictions to confront the integrism. This is the time to forge an Alliance of democrates of all the civilizations to put and end to this tyranny that holds its grip throughout half of the world and menaces the other half.
We are grateful to Danish people because of the example that it is giving the world in the fight for our freedoms, against religious fanatism and cowardice. And we are demanding from our politicians to adopt the same attitude and take a firm stand with the Danes.
That is why from Liberal Youths we want to call all organizations, associations and citizens that want to support all these values, to come next March 4th at 12.30 to the surroundings of Constitution's monument.
