Militants kill two children of a missionary couple in Pakistan

In an horrific incident of Christian persecution on September 1, some unidentified militants slew two children of a missionary couple who is working with At Any Cost Jesus Mission, a underground ministry evangelizing to the Muslim nations.

MUZAFFARABAD, PAKISTAN (ANS) - A press release sent via e-mail to ANS by Any Cost Jesus Mission said that the assailants torched the dead bodies of teenaged children Shalom, 15 and Sharon 14 after murdering them brutally in the northern district of Pakistan.

The teenaged victims according to the press release were secondary school students.

“Shalom and Sharon were kidnapped along with their missionary parents and two other younger sisters 10 days before the murder. The militants asked them to convert to Islam but they refused,” said the press release.

“So the militants killed Shalom first. Then they raped the girl and cut one of her breasts in front of her parents. She too died”, the press release quoted another underground missionary, Habel who it said broke the news to Any Cost Jesus Mission from a hidden place.

“Police and the military forces are backing the militants. Habel and his family was also attacked and their house was burnt but the Lord enabled them to escape to a hidden place. They (militants) also demolished a church and some houses were set on fire too”, the evangelization ministry claimed in the press release. [...]

Who is the stupid guy who keeps praising Pakistan as our Allies in the War against Terror. Hey, these people are as bad as any other Muslim moderate. They want nothing but the victory of Islam

Muslim moderate? You mean a Muslim that ran out of ammunition?

We all know that here in America if a minority family (any minority) were treated like that by thugs, there would be protests, demonstrations, TV shows expressing horror and anguish, and politicians swearing to do what it takes to track down and punish the killers.

We also know from the routine flag burnings that Pakistanis are no strangers to demonstrations when they are “inflamed.” It only takes a cartoon!

Therefore, (1) they are not inflamed or outraged and (2) by there silence they are tacitly complicit in these acts.

But where are the leaders of religious denominations here in the West?

Not only that but "Police and the military forces are backing the militants."

Yes, I read that. So much for the idea that "it's only a few" fanatics who hijacked a religion.

Jason,
There are Christian organizations which do highlight the problems around the world. Voices of the Martyrs is a good one.

However, individual evangelical Christian churches are not good at highlighting what is going on.

As far as I can tell, the problem is the Evangelical movement (no matter what the left would have you believe) does not like to get involved in things which they consider to be political. So, for instance, my church does periodically discuss persecution of Christians. However, they don't make it clear why the Christians are being persecuted. They don't come right out and say, "Muslims are persecuting Christians throughout the world, because they are told to do so by the Koran."

Likewise, when discussing the persection of Christians in China, my Pastor refrains from explaining that such persecution is mandated in Communist philosophy.

I absolutely agree with you that this is pathetic. In fact, a few months ago I wrote a piece called Why The Christian Church Must Join the Battle For Western Civilization. I sent it off to my pastor, and asked him what he thought of it. He replied that he agreed with everything I said.

However, he has not said a word about it in church.

Meanwhile, my church is involved in feeding and clothing poor people in the area in which we live. My Pastor sees that as the duty of christianity, and it is. However, if the church doesn't get up off its ass and start fighting against Islamism, there will be no churches left.

My wife reminds me of her Catholic school education in the 50s & 60s. The nuns told stories about martyrs tortured by Romans, Indians, etc. And the church had a firm policy against Communism. The horrors of communism weren’t glossed over. And the nuns asked the students to pray for the salvation of communists – not for invasion, conquest, and conversion, of course. My childhood friends, mostly Catholic, told me similar stories.

Like I said elsewhere, the culture at large influences every realm: schools, churches, political parties, businesses (don’t get me going), etc. We, as individuals, have to fight the tide. But it always starts with a few. You did it with your church and you planted the seeds of change ... someday they'll be fruit.

Thanks for the encouragement. It feels like I'm just banging my head against the wall.
