30 Years of Terror

According to the current head of MI5 Britain faces a huge problem-

Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller outlined the terrifying prospect as she told how her agents are tracking 1,600 fanatics from 200 al-Qaeda cells.

In a rare briefing, the spy chief warned of a sustained campaign of indiscriminate terrorism lasting 30 YEARS.

And she said: “It aims to wear down our will to resist. All of us, whatever our ethnicity and faith, are the targets of terrorists.”

In a nightmare vision, Dame Eliza also told of the “daunting” menace facing Britain, in which:

THIRTY active terrorist plots are under investigation by the security services.

MANY more have yet to be uncovered.

SIX major attacks have been foiled in the last six years.

FANATICS are poised to use biological, radioactive or even nuclear weapons.

RECRUITMENT to terror cells of young Muslims — some still schoolkids — is exploding, with many groomed to be suicide bombers, and

MI5 is struggling to cope with a staggering 80 per cent increase in casework since January, leaving its 2,800 spooks at full stretch and potentially unable to “stop the next attack”.

Dame Eliza said: “The threat is serious, growing and will, I believe, be with us for a generation.

“Today we see the use of home-made improvised explosive devices. Tomorrow’s threat may — and I suggest WILL — include the use of chemicals, bacteriological agents, radioactive materials and even nuclear technology.”

All of which means that my eldest daughter will be older than I am now when all this is over- if it ever does end. That's the world my children are growing up in.

Dan Simmons' Century War is sounding more and more accurate in its description of the future.

“Your enemy is he who will give his life to kill you,” said the Time Traveler. “Your enemies are they that wish you and your children and your grandchildren dead and who are willing to sacrifice themselves, or support those fanatics who will sacrifice themselves, to see you and your institutions destroyed. You haven’t figured that out yet – the majority of you fat, sleeping, smug, infinitely stupid Americans and Europeans.”

He stood and set the Scotch glass back in its place on my sideboard. “How, we wonder in my time,” he said softly, “can you ignore the better part of a billion people who say aloud that they are willing to kill your children . . . or condone and celebrate the killing of them? And ignore them as they act on what they say? We do not understand you.”

I wonder, will enough people- with enough influence- wake up in time to stop it? Somehow, with the anti-war Democrats in power, with Rumsfeld's sacrifice and the failure to secure an appointment for the highly effective Bolton at the UN, I don't think enough people have managed to keep their eyes open since September 11, 2001. I dread to think what the next "wake up call" might be.

OT - Due to the objections of the left re the not guilty verdict for the bnp couple, I feel that I need to know more about the controvertial sections of the koran. I'm not a bnp supporter but think it was right that they were found not guilty, simply because their filmed comments where nothing to do with race and were not said in public. The msm is today saying the the govt is proposing changes in the law regarding 'race-hate speech'. This seems to be a big steaming pile of bs. They said that islam is a 'wicked' religion and I'm looking for a concise resource with which I can inform myself of exactly what is said and where in the koran. Do you know of such a resource? Cheers.

Anonymous,
I agree with you.

I hate the BNP, but they did not deserve what happened to them, and in fact, they are fighting a righteous fight in their fight against Islamofascism.

Here's a good site that has a lot of information on Islam, with many quotations and where to find them:

http://www.studytoanswer.net/islam_myths.html

Here is the Koran (you can click on links to the various verses) :

http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/

Here is a site that contains the Hadiths (which are non-Koranic scriptures wherein people who knew Mohammed tell of their experiences with him) :

http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/reference/searchhadith.html

Here is a site run by people who have left Islam wherein they tell of their experiences and of the truth about Islam:

http://www.apostatesofislam.com/

(By the way, why do I hate the BNP? I know there are people who read IBA who are supporters of the BNP, so let me tell you why I hate the BNP. Because most of my family is not white. The BNP is a racist organization as is evidenced by the fact that they periodically run ads for racist records and books. No non-racist organization for instance, would run a ad for Prussian Blue, the little twin racist singers:

Your best bet is to go and have a look at the Skeptics Annotated Koran (handy sections on intolerance, violence, treatment of women and the like) and then go and bookmark Jihad Watch- and perhaps check out Robert Spencer's books too. There's a fair bit of detailed information on Jihad Watch to back up the claims that Spencer makes. And I've yet to see him refuted.

And keep checking back here too of course!

Good luck in your quest for information.

Anonymous,
Here's a very comprehensive piece about Islam that is from our site (it isn't as chockful of quotations, but it definately is well-referenced):

Pastorious, I share your feelings about the BNP's racist ideas.
But what to do? Only rabid nationalists seem able to stand up to the islamist propaganda and the wishy-washy multiculturalists who enable them.
If the BNP would drop the racist component of their political ideology I'd support them in an instant. Perhaps if enough people let them know that then we'll see a nationalist party, opposed to the islamists but not racist.
At the end of the day they need votes, after all.

Cheers folks, really appreciate your time and effort. Although I am British white working class, my spouse is neither white nor British which means the bnp would like to offer us 'financial incentives' to move elsewhere. No ta! Once again, thanks.

See, Anonymous is in the same position as me, except that I am American, not British.

By the way, Anonymous, I put all those links in the Infidel Bloggers Alliance sidebar, so now they are easily accessible.

KG,
I'm with you. If I could only trust the BNP to not be racist, I would support them. As it stands, their ideas are an affront to my own family.

KG/Pastorius -

I'm with you both re the bnp and their notions of a pure white race; the idea that mixed race relationships are unacceptable etc. Many people I know are recovering liberals that have jumped ship but feel they have nowhere to go and therefore head straight towards the bnp. They're not being listened to by the govt. and see bias in the msm. If the bnp could appreciate that their ideology repels a lot of people as well as attacting many, perhaps they might have more success. I can't see them doing a u-turn on this, but it was good to see NG on tv last night state that he now realizes that not all British asians are the same and that one group in particular seems to be causing all the consternation. He at least had the integrity to admit on national tv that he had been mistaken, which although doesn't seem that credible is more than we get from the more established politicians. Who knows? It's hard to trust any of them these days. Then again, when people start to cut the bnp some slack there's obviously something wrong and a watershed on the horizon.

Maybe the BNP is getting the message:

"For most of those who love all things British; that’s the native British people and the decent hard working folk from India, the Caribbean and elsewhere who have made a home in these islands and who do not demand changes, do not demand special treatment, the decision is easily made."

ROP, that's good news indeed!

ROP,
Did you notice I put your post in the sidebar?

Pastorius,
Yes, thanks. I just hope it doesn't start WWIII. Apparently a leading Turkish cleric said Tuesday that "criticism of Islam is a serious threat to world peace". From
