He's trying to make the country a better place, damn it.
From Atlas Shrugs:
President plans to kill off every single homosexual Gambian
President Yahya Jammeh says he will “cut off the head” of any homosexual caught in his country. Afrik.com hat tip babs
Jammeh also ordered any hotel or motel housing homosexuals to close down, adding that owners of such facilities would also be in trouble.
He said the Gambia was a country of believers, indicating that no sinful and immoral act as homosexual would be tolerated in the country.
He warned all homosexuals in the country to leave, noting that a legislation “stricter than those in Iran ” concerning the vice would be introduced soon.
President Jammeh said he was bent on making the Gambia one of the best countries to live in, adding that his government had spent over US$ 100 million towards the development of the country since 1994.
We can see that lesbian talk show-host Ellen DeGeneres is brave, after the way she talked to John McCain yesterday. I wonder what she'll have to say about this.
This is disturbing!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I have never even heard of Gambia. Where is it? I am assuming somewhere in the middle east?
From Wikipedia:
ReplyDeleteThe Gambia, officially the Republic of The Gambia, commonly known as Gambia, is a country in Western Africa. It is the smallest country on the African continental mainland and is bordered to the north, east, and south by Senegal, and has a small coast on the Atlantic Ocean in the west.
The Gambia is MUSLIM!?
ReplyDeletePastorius,
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know where it is. Also like watcher71 asked, "Is Gambia a Muslim country?"
In 1066, the inhabitants of Tekrur, a kingdom centered on the Sénégal River just to the north, became the first people in the region conquered by Arabs and forced to convert to Islam. Muslim traders established the trans-Saharan trade route for slaves, gold, and ivory. At the beginning of the fourteenth century, most of what is today called The Gambia was a tributary to the Mali Empire. The Portuguese reached the area by sea in the mid-fifteenth century and began to dominate the lucrative trade.
ReplyDeleteOn Islam in the Gambia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_the_Gambia
Islam is the majority religion of The Gambia, with around 90% of the population being Muslims. However, some popular religions practices diverge from mainstream Islam, with a system of marabout societies being very common. There is no Shi'ite following in the country.
I doubt it. Islam is known to cannabilize other religions. There's something called Chrislam in Africa, which is a combination of Islam and Christianity. The reality is, it is Islam with a smattering of Jesus thrown in, but it isn't the Jesus of the Bible.
ReplyDeleteThere's also B'hai, Sufism, and Islamic Animism.
It's just cannibilization.
I just got done interviewing Robert Spencer on my radio show and he talked about how Mohammed attempted to forge an alliance with a polytheistic cult by declaring their gods to be part of Islam.
The verses which refer to this event are known as The Satanic Verses.
Pastorius,
ReplyDeleteI heard about that stupid Chrislam, you wrote about it remember and I commented on it.
