From the BBC:
Girl, 15, arrested over 'Facebook Koran burning video'
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of inciting religious hatred after allegedly burning an English language version of the Koran.
The 15-year-old, who lives in the West Midlands, allegedly posted the video, filmed two weeks ago on her school premises, on Facebook.
The video was reported to the school and subsequently removed, police said.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of making threats. Both have been released on police bail.
It is thought the girl, who lives in the Sandwell Council area, was allegedly filmed setting the booklet alight while other pupils watched.
Two Facebook profiles have also been removed from the site, police added.
It is understood that the group who published that version of the Koran have since been to the school to talk to pupils.
'Sacred thing'
Catherine Heseltine, chief executive officer of the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, said burning the Koran was one of the most offensive acts to Muslims that she could imagine.
She said: "The Koran is the most sacred thing to over a billion Muslims worldwide."
"You can see that in the way Muslims treat the Koran, washing before touching it and in many Muslim homes you will find it on the top shelf above all other books and we will never destroy the Koranic texts."
"We believe it is the word of God. God's guidance for us in this life," she added.
Bob Badham, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council cabinet member for education, said he had visited the school and believed the atmosphere was generally good among pupils.
He added that he did not believe there was a "deeper problem" in the area.
england your days are numbered...
ReplyDeleteA child with the courage that her elders lack defies the slobbering goons of Islam, and she is paying the price so England's "leaders" can pursue their "go-along-to-get-along" dhimmi training because they figure Islam is the future anyway, might as well learn to bend over and take it.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest problem I would have with burning a Krayon right now is having to spend money to buy a Krayon in the first place. Let me know when someone prints it on toilet paper for a buck a roll.
There is never time to do it right. There is always time to do it ugly. England is facing a horrible choice and its options are rapidly shrinking to two: submission or violent revolt.
Remember Churchill's words, Britain. The enemy is in the streets already. When will you begin to fight? Are you going to continue to let the EDL do your fighting for you, then curse them when they don't precisely fit your PC/MC straightjacket?
Are you going to keep sprinkling fairy dust and wishing for the Moo-slums to magically turn into reasonable people who can be bargained with? That work on the Nazis, did it? Or are you thinking of how much "trouble" you could have saved yourselves by surrendering to Hitler, forming that partnership to rule the world? Islam look like the "coming thing", does it?
Funny, when we Americans rebelled, your monarch and your lords were falling all over each other to prevent us from becoming free people. But the ragheads and bagheads invade your land and demand your submission and your next-in-line for King George's throne puts on a robe and a funny moo-slum hat and praises Islam, as does the head of the Anglican church, and fall all over each other trying to be first in line to submit.
It's a funny old world, isn't it.
GET UP OFF YOUR ARSES AND THROW THESE BUGGERS OFF YOUR ISLAND AND SAVE YOURSELVES AND THOSE WHO HAVE COME TO BRITAIN TO ESCAPE THE NIGHTMARE OF ISLAMIC OPPRESSION AND WHO HAVE BECOME GOOD AND LOYAL CITIZENS.
And stop letting your children do the fighting for you.
How can the police have the right to prosecute Channel 4?
ReplyDeleteIn our neck of the woods (America) only the District Attorney could prosecute a television network.
I would like to see a re-creation of the event except burn a Bible instead.
ReplyDeleteI want to know if the response would be equal.
How about burning the koran and the bible at the same time, and see what they do. In court an interesting defence could be used.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea, Ray.
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose you want to be the man to do it, huh?
;-)
My Family lives in England, but I don't think I could convince the authorities I am there, nor that I am a citizen.
Some years ago Muslim groups tried to strongarm Borders Books into always placing the Krayon on the top shelves of the Religion section. Apparently the manager in my old store told them to get stuffed.
ReplyDeleteBuilding on Ray's idea, I say we start with a Krayon and a Bible, then we throw on a Book of Mormon, some L. Ron Hubbard Scientology screeds, a Holy Book of Thelema, the Homeric Hymns, a Mahayana, a few Sutras, an Egyptian Book of the Dead, maybe an Emerald Tablet, several Vedas, a Bhagavad Gita, LaVey's Satanic Rtiuals (MUCH funnier than the Satanic Bible), an Evangelion, A Course in Miracles, Urantia, Isis Unveild, some Orphic Poems, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the writings of Haile Selassie (maybe a few leaves of something to go with it), some Swedenborg, any spare copies of the Popol Vuh lying around the house, etc., etc., and have us a regular bonfire.
Then let's see the courts try and sort THAT out.
Didn't some guy here in the U.S. do a video where he burnt a Bible and a Krayon to see which one would burn better.
ReplyDeleteI think the Krayon won, if I recall correctly.
That must mean it is Akbar.
LOL
@revereridesagain
ReplyDeleteGood one, you got the cults & stupid but maybe too many. Here's my new list:
Koran
Scientology stuff
Jehova's Witness publications inc their bible
Celestine Prophecies
Meinh Kampf
Could be more. The point is my defence is they are my books, I own them, I have determined they are rubbish so I reserve the right to dispose of them as rubbish
I think I'll visit Borders in Bangor and check location.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it will be somewhere between Kabalah and Midrash whatever shelf that happens to be.
do you have to wear gloves to touch the book at Borders?
