Ebola News --- CONSTANTLY BEING UPDATED FOR THE DAY (updates at bottom of post)

Duncan exposed his loved ones knowing he was likely infected and lied to his family?

Anderson Cooper speaks with Louise , mother of Duncan's son, expressing frustration about the confinement. Wants to be free while she and her family has no symptoms.

Details about the family confined are confusing.
GOVERNOR: 5 students at 4 different schools exposed to U.S. Ebola patient
Five students at four different schools have been in contact with the Ebola patient, Dallas Superintendent Mike Miles said. None of the students has shown any symptoms.

Ebola patient's leaving Liberia was 'unpardonable,' its President says
Duncan's family said he hadn't mentioned any exposure to Ebola in Liberia.
His girlfriend says he told her he hadn't been in contact with anyone with Ebola. Wilfred Smallwood, Duncan's half-brother, said Thursday that he doesn't believe Duncan knew he had Ebola when he left Liberia for the United States. But he said it isn't out of the ordinary to come to the assistance of suffering people.

Louise Troh is the family member whose 13 year old son (Duncan's nephew) as well as two 20 year old nephews of Louise (according to Anderson Cooper)remain confined to that contaminated domicile.

Witnesses say Duncan had been helping Ebola patients in Liberia. Liberian community leader Tugbeh Chieh Tugbeh said Duncan was caring for an Ebola-infected patient at a residence in Paynesville City, just outside Monrovia.
Family members suggest this was Duncan's first trip to the US while a neighbor of the mother of his son, Louise, stated that he met Duncan on at least three separate visits over the last decade.

The last CNN link in the above comment suggests the timeline of Duncan's infection is off, given he was witnessed helping Ebola patient(s). (note: multiple pts) He left his job after an accident knowing he acquired a travel visa to the US. Having walked off the job, did he have saved funds to pay for such travel? Other sources stated a UPS affiliate purchased his ticket. Did he assist someone or someone's family member who is tied to UPS? Is that why/how his ticket was purcha$ed?

Earlier NYT reported he assisted a 7 mos. pregnant 19 year old who died hours later. All of the five individuals, except the cab driver involved in the transport of that pregnant victim either have ebola or died. Duncan assisted this girl 4 days prior to travel initiating on Sept. 19. How many other ebola victims was he exposed to prior the 15th? Did he choose to become a mercenary aid to fund his trip to the US?
About the family confusion. Louise Troh the mother of a 13 year old son residing with her, assumed to be Duncan's son.
Dallas ISD superintendent Mike Miles also revealed that five
children from four of the district’s campuses were possibly exposed to the virus

Two of the five schools identified by Miles –

Tasby Middle and Lowe Elementary – share a campus.

Miles identified the schools as:

Conrad High School

Tasby Middle School

Hotchkiss Elementary School

Dan D. Rogers Elementary School

Jack Lowe Sr. Elementary School

What school did those twenty year olds go to? How many schools did the thirteen year old attend?

Duncan's girlfriend . . .wow. Family members suggest this was Duncan's first trip to the US while a neighbor of the mother of his son, Louise, stated that he met Duncan on at least three separate visits over the last decade.

About the family confusion. Louise Troh the mother of a 13 year old son residing with her, assumed to be Duncan's son.
CNN: So there she has stayed, along with her 13-year-old son and two nephews in their 20s. But it hasn't been easy.

Patient With Ebola-Like Symptoms Being Treated at Howard University Hospital

Duncan lied at the firs hospital in Dallas. He denied that he'd had any contact with Ebola victims while in Liberia.

One of the nephews locked in with Louise is the 21 year old son of Duncan's brother, Wilfred Smallwood (stated on Fox News)

Perhaps this nephew came to visit with his uncle...yet this uncle withheld the info @ danger of such a visit. despicable.

CDC Lets Quarantined Woman Who Cared for Texas Ebola Victim Shop, Receive Visitors

A woman who cared for the Texas Ebola victim at her mother’s Dallas area apartment has been allowed by the CDC to go shopping and receive visitors, according to a report by the Washington Post.

The 35-year-old woman, Youngor Jallah, told the Post she called an ambulance for Liberian national Thomas Duncan after his temperature spiked and she saw his eyes look like those of Ebola victims she has seen on TV.

While the Post reports Jallah and her family are being quarantined, the rules are apparently quite lax.

The Post interviewed Jallah face to face in her apartment. She says she was allowed by authorities to go grocery shopping Wednesday when they first placed her and her family under quarantine.

““I’ve been seeing Ebola on TV, how it starts, with muscle pain, red eyes. When I see his eye, it is all red, and I think maybe this time it is Ebola virus and I should be careful,” Jallah, 35, said in an interview with The Washington Post at her nearby apartment, where she and her family have been quarantined.

“She took his temperature — 102 degrees.

““I’m going to call an ambulance,” she said.”

“Three days later, on Wednesday evening, Jallah and Yah were visited in their second-floor apartment by health officials from the state and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The officials took everyone’s temperature and told them that they should not leave the apartment.

““We don’t have any food,” Jallah said. “What do we do?”

““She was told that she and (her partner Aaron) Yah, but not the kids, could go to the store. The two health officials also said they would return every day to see how the family was doing.”

Jallah told the Post she was in close bodily contact with Duncan when he was displaying Ebola symptoms. She says she bought him a blanket to keep warm in the apartment and took that blanket with her to the emergency room when he was taken there by ambulance.

“So Jallah took a quick trip to Wal-Mart and bought a $50 brown cotton blanket. When she returned, she draped it over Duncan’s shoulders and then gently lifted him by his back to try to get him to drink some hot tea. That’s when she looked into his eyes and knew in her heart that things were very bad.”

The Post reports a total of thirteen people spent time at the apartment when Duncan was showing signs of Ebola. All but three are mentioned as being quarantined: Yah, Jallah and her four children who had spent the night at the apartment; Duncan’s girlfriend Louise Troh, her teenaged son and two young men staying at the apartment. Not mentioned as quarantined are Jallah’s father and two cousins whom she took to the apartment and then the hospital last Sunday. They were all in close quarters with the Ebola victim’s blanket according to the Post.

“Jallah didn’t wait to watch the ambulance leave. All she had on her mind was getting to the hospital as quickly as she could, she said. She headed to her red Toyota minivan with the blanket in her arms, joined now by two cousins she had picked up earlier on her way to the Ivy Apartments and her father, Joe Joe Jallah.”

There is no mention in the article if steps are being taken to monitor or quarantine those other family members.

Duncan's girlfriend is mother to his 13 year old son. He risked infecting the people he is supposed to have loved. 13 years is a long time to propose. Perhaps the situation in Liberia w/ Ebola initiated this trip...and proposal? This guy seems like a real piece of work...I pray I am wrong, because if he is as scummy as it appears, his loved ones aren't the only ones he put at risk-for selfish reasons. If his motivations exceeded selfish entitlement, then he is lower than scum.

White House Says Travel Ban Would ‘Impede’ Efforts to Fight Ebola in Africa

The efforts of this administration would be funny if not so deadly! As I read that headline, I was reminded of a hilarious radio program call in segment...as it reminded me of the twisted logic the above headline implies:

please move the deer crossing signs

For the Jewish readers at IBA...some sweet humor to ring in the New Year. Enjoy!
