Until I left the marketplace, typically university researchers wrote grant apps to the NIH and then executed that research. Some of it was quite good stuff. The other VIBRANT market were companies like Merck, Burroughs, Pfizer, Schering, CIBA-GEIGY, Hoffmann LaRoche, etc. These people NO MATTER what you think of them spent 15-20% of the TOP LINE on R&D. Why? They had a 17 year protection on anything good they developed.
This market was almost ENTIRELY missing in Britain.
SINGLE PAYER.

SO LONG rapid progress against diseaseEpaminondashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04811906954763827459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19209018.post-74799086602054024272013-10-24T22:30:13.113+01:002013-10-24T22:30:13.113+01:00Yup. The government slowly takes away all the rights (or what's left of them anyway) and the people just go, "yeah that's horrible! can you believe it!!" and that usually is the end of the conversation.

NicoenargAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19209018.post-44792365253057426302013-10-24T22:23:01.474+01:002013-10-24T22:23:01.474+01:00Nico,
I don't ever recognize my "fellow c...Nico,
I don't ever recognize my "fellow conservatives" anymore. Most of them, anyway.

They cluck their tongues, then bury their heads back in the sand. I had that experience YET AGAIN today when I pointed out to a "fellow conservative" at work that the ObamaCare noose is tightening as policies are nulled so as to comply with the ACA and/or provider networks are yanked out from under long-time policy holders. The response I got: "The policy I have will pay for my son's kidney transplant." She couldn't wrap her mind around the fact that the kidney transplant possibility could vanish tomorrow. Sheesh.Always On Watchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08192688822955022541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19209018.post-88719234699001852592013-10-24T22:11:35.069+01:002013-10-24T22:11:35.069+01:00Because, with all due respect, conservatives compl...Because, with all due respect, conservatives complain and then go to work and pay taxes which enables liberals to sit on their asses and plan on how else to destroy America.

Obamacare roll out has been DISASTROUS. Where are the protesters? Where are the people DEMANDING that the law be done away with? I mean the majority of Americans don't even want it. But why is it that liberals can gather a crowd and get people to support murdering babies (Planned Parenthood) but Conservatives can't get people together for ANYTHING!

The biggest problem with conservatives is that they want it ALL or nothing at all. Liberals have been successful at chewing away, little by little and now they have enough power to exert themselves.

Conservatives WANT the perfect scenario first before they do anything.

The latest presidential elections are a perfect example of conservatives not getting behind Romney because he wasn't conservative enough (or to evangelical Christians, he wasn't Christian enough). What happened? They sat on their asses to boycott the damn elections while Obama's cronies were distributing "Obama phones" and getting people out to vote for this piece of sh*t.

Recently the conservatives in the House stood up to Obama for like 10 days and then they're like "we are trying to work on any deal that the President would like..." AYFKM!

Where's the spine? Where's the passion? No one seems to give enough of a sh*t anymore except for the liberals who have had a domino effect against conservative principles for the last 5 or so years.

And for those who keep saying, "2014 and we're gonna kick the Dems and RINOs out..." Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. If things remain the way they are, I would not be shocked at all if the Repubs lost even the House.

It is not that Obama wins, no one even dares fight him!

NicoenargAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19209018.post-12732244666726795772013-10-24T20:33:04.765+01:002013-10-24T20:33:04.765+01:00Why is it that Obama always "wins"?Why is it that Obama always "wins"?Always On Watchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08192688822955022541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19209018.post-24271141990218984432013-10-24T20:32:26.220+01:002013-10-24T20:32:26.220+01:00I predict single payer by the end of 2016 -- if no...I predict single payer by the end of 2016 -- if not sooner.Always On Watchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08192688822955022541noreply@blogger.com
