On Thursday, July 27th, representatives from Iraqi Kurdistan will meet with a delegation of "Gold Star Families" - family members who lost a son or daughter fighting the war against terrorism. The message from the Iraqi Kurds to these American families: "THANK YOU"
This important event will take place at the historic Fior d'Italia restaurant in San Francisco and is part of the national tour by the Iraqi Kurdistan delegation to send the message to the people of the United States that they wish to say, “Thank You America” for the liberation of their region from the oppressive regime of Saddam
Hussein.
Attending the luncheon will be family members who lost a child in the war in Iraq as well as members of the news media. Today, the Washington Post reported on

The Kurdistan Development Corporation hopes to build stronger bonds between the people of the United States and Iraqi Kurdistan to encourage greater
levels of trade & commerce.

Iraqi Kurds to meet families of fallen soldiers in Iraq war
Kurdistan: The Other Iraq reports that today, representatives from Kurdistan will be meeting with the families of fallen soldiers in Iraq:
Considering the awful track record we've had in abandoning a good number of peoples to despots (heck, the whole of Eastern Europe after WW II to name a few), let's hope for once that we can come through for the Kurds.
