NEW BLOGGER ALERT

Blogger forced me to switch accounts this morning.

Infidel Bloggers Alliance is now officially a "New Blogger" blog now.

I believe this will mean that EVERYONE will have to switch over to the New Blogger account in order to post here.

Just wanted to let you know.

  1. That explains why you wouldn't come up for a while this morning.

I'm already on the new blogger. What's the problem with "The Murky Waters"?

  2. Disregard.

I think there was a "keyboard actuator error". :)

  3. What I found out is that one just needs a Google- (as opposed to Blogger-)ID to post here. One's own blog can remain with the old version.

  4. Interesting.

Oh well, I changed over and it seems to be working just fine.

  6. (deleted the above because something I didn't remember correctly)

I didn't change yet but I can still post and comment. Strange.

I do, though, want to make the change for my own reason: my blog's getting to have numerous posts, and I want to tag them.

I have all my blog posts backed up (paranoia resulting from losing long texts on the web form), so here goes.

  7. i switched a while ago, but it is a little weird logging in, had to let it login automatically, wouldn't w/ manual entering my u/n and p/w. also seems to have broken the rss feed in my reader (newsfire)

  8. Switched. Finally, Blogger added tags.
I think it killed the link to TTLB. No biggy, though.

  9. "I do, though, want to make the change for my own reason: my blog's getting to have numerous posts, and I want to tag them."

Tags are the strongest argument in favour of the new version.

I have gotten around it by using del.icio.us.

  10. Well, I took the plunge and upgraded, and apart from a few fucked-up special characters in the template (for example the German Umlauts) nothing adverse happened.

Now for the funny peculiar bit: In my dashboard, IBA is shown as "This blog is still on the old version of Blogger."

  11. They'll get the bugs worked out eventually, I guess.

WC still can't access this blog, even though both he and IBA have switched over.

    It is very odd.

  12. Wunnerful. Just when I was starting to get the hang of the old one. Pastorius, your email address still the same?

  13. The_Editrix,

Same here--had to fix the link to "¡No PasarĂ¡n!", for example, and IBA still shows up as old Blogger.

The tags are great. Fumbling all the way down to August 2006 to find something was a pain.

  14. Thanks for letting me know. I've been contemplating the time when I'll have to inevitably switch to the new version as well, and the time will probably come tomorrow.

  15. I haven't switched over, but I think I can post here, nevertheless.

Every time Blogger "upgrades," there's a FUBAR.

  16. "The tags are great. Fumbling all the way down to August 2006 to find something was a pain."

True, but because I am doggedly sticking with my own template, I can't add them to my sidebar automatically. Have to do it manually, which is a PITA!

Btw, why can't I see the IBA logo anymore?

  17. I don't know.

    I need a blog administrator.

    Anyone want to help?

  18. I went over there and switched and they claim IBA is still on the old system and won't let me post.

  19. The only difference I see so far is that it won't keep me logged in, dammit. But then I haven't tried to post here yet. Oh well, if you see no update on Nazanin Fatehi above, please just go to my site ;).

Are thzey pulling our collective leg? ;-)

  21. Editrix,
We have an expression here in America:

They are pulling their own puds.

I'll leave it to you to figure out what that means.

  22. I said: "Btw, why can't I see the IBA logo anymore?"

    Pastorius replied: "I don't know."

    I do now.

It's a browswer thing. As soon as you've found your admin tell him/her to optimise the page for Opera.

  23. Editrix,

I think it is a browser thing, or something. But, I'm using Internet Explorer and it isn't working for me either.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It IS a browser thing. Firefox works fine.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The weirdest thing is, with Internet Explorer it works sometimes and doesn't work other times, and of course, this has just started with the new blogger.
