Turkish human intelligence on the ground in Kurdistan is saying:

Turkish intelligence warns of Iraq split

Turkey’s intelligence service warned last week that instability in Iraq is leading to that country's disintegration.

Turkish military intelligence, known as Milli Istihbarat Teskilati (MIT), published its annual strategic review on the Internet.

The report predicted Iraq would disintegrate in the next three years, with the creation of a Shi'ite state in the center and south of the country and a Kurdish state in the north.

The new Kurdish state, according to MIT, would encourage Kurds to demand separate homelands in Turkey, Iran and Syria.

There is no such place as Iraq
There is no such people as Iraqis
Abyssynians
Assyrians
Babylonians
Marsh Arabs
Persians
Kurds
But they have never been a people
The place called Iraq was invented in London
Let's just admit it

  2. No comparison, we went OUT of our way to both revolt together and unify in a compact, and then conquered outright those not a part of it so that they were flat on their back.

Colonial powers divided us, not united us.

    Iraq is the polar opposite.

It is an invented nation of 1921 vintage. The people have nothing in common except for those 1921 lines.

Our men should be in Kurdistan, if anywhere.
The rest are doing a yuogslavia.

We are not a people to be savage enough to pick a side and win a civil war. If we were, then Iraq would have been flat on its back in 2003.

  4. Hate to say it, but Nigeria is a similar case, as is Sudan. Regardless of origins and the problems rooted in European colonialism, why have these situations melted into bloody decades long conflicts? Not all former European colonies melted down in such a way. Is it merely coincidence that non-muslims aren't tolerated as having the same rights (or sometimes even existing) in the former colonies with majority or 50% muslim populations? I seriously doubt that one.
