Fifth Column Muslim Police Officer Must Remain On Payroll After Disrupting Terror Investigation

From Pipeline News:

May 14, 2008 - San Francisco, CA -

PipeLineNews.org - Fairfax, VA police officer Sgt. Weiss Rasool - who was sentenced to 2 years probation in federal court on April 22, having plead guilty to unauthorized access to the Violent Crime and Terrorist Offender File, maintained as part of the National Crime Information Center system – unbelievably continues to work for the department, pending an internal review of his case.

Rasool checked the databases to help the target of a federal terror investigation - who knew him, belonging to the same mosque as Rasool - and left a voice mail message tipping the suspect off that he was under surveillance by the FBI and being followed by undercover vehicles.

The target was apprehended in November 2005 and deported, his identity and the charges involved have so far not been disclosed. At the time of his arrest, he and his family were fully dressed and busily engaged in destruction of evidence at 6 in the morning, suggesting that they had been tipped off.

During the investigation, Rasool was given a lie-detector test with which it was determined that he "was not fully compliant" because of his evasiveness. As a result, law enforcement does “not believe that he has been truthful."

The court’s statement upon Rasool’s sentencing included:

“The defendant, through his experience with the police, had a basis to believe
that the leasing company was used for federal law enforcement vehicles, but
despite that, relayed the information to the individual. The defendant also
checked his name and other names multiple times in NCIC without a legitimate law
enforcement purpose to do so and to see if he or others he was acquainted with
were listed on the Terrorist Watch List. The defendant's actions damaged the
integrity of the NCIC system and jeopardized at least one federal investigation.
The defendant's actions could have placed federal agents in danger. The FBI has
had to undo the harm caused by the defendant."
Beyond the obvious damage resulting from Rasool’s efforts to aid a national security deportee, his work as a “jihadi in blue” did not end there.

According to the Investigative Project, Rasool acting with another officer from a neighboring police department, who represented himself as being with the Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR, a Hamas friendly Muslim pressure group, funded by the Saudis and named as a co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror prosecution] were successful in stopping a long-standing and popular anti-terrorism training program at the Fairfax police department and an associated police academy.

In a letter to Fairfax Chief of Police, David M. Rohrer, from Dr. Peter Leitner, president of the Higgins Center for Counter Terrorism Research he noted:

”For several years, the Higgins Counterterrorism Research Center was a provider of a series of training courses related to Terrorism, Intelligence, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Source Development, etc. We always enjoyed very high ratings from the Department and external personnel who attended our training sessions. We trained many hundreds of your personnel without a hitch until a complaint was filed by Sergeant Weiss Rasool, a Muslim. Sergeant Rasool maliciously accused my organization of being inaccurate, unfair, and meanspirited in how we portrayed Islam. In conversations with Rasool he admitted to not having studied the Koran or other Islamic doctrine and texts. That did not deter him from accusing us of unfairly portraying Islam.”

Not surprisingly, in 2006 Rohrer, in full dhimmi mode delivered a groveling speech at a CAIR benefit event:

“As we go forward, let us choose to make a difference and embrace a vision of
peace and unity and hope. And let us choose for us and our children hope over
fear, caring over indifference, tolerance over intolerance, acceptance over
prejudice, and understanding over ignorance.

It shouldn't be revelatory that Corey Saylor, CAIR’s Governmental Affairs Coordinator urged Rasools trial judge to show leniency in sentencing, writing to the court, "I have always found Sgt. Rasool eager to promote a substantive relationship between the Fairfax County Police Department and the local Muslim community. His efforts played a significant role in improving trust in a time when mutual misunderstanding could easily severe (sic) all positive ties between these two groups."

Yes, “a significant role in improving trust,” never mind Rasool’s aiding a now deported national security threat and false allegations against a company providing obviously much needed anti-terror training to the department.

Rasool’s actions in this case are illustrative, as are those of Fairfax PD’s dhimmi Chief of Police Rohrer.

Rasool’s presence on the police force, even after his conviction demonstrates the fallacy of involving politicized Muslims at any level in law enforcement.

In the current atmosphere of perverse diversity considerations, where value judgments are verboten by decree, fifth column jihadists feel free to practice their deception with impunity, with resultant damage to the ability of the nation to defend itself.

Rasool’s boss Mr. Rohrer is also too typical, a political hack willing to ignore the threat within his own department while breaking bread with an organization that refuses to condemn Hamas, all to secure short term advantage.

In a larger sense this case bears significantly on the new Islamist paradigm, jihad through interfaith dialogue, because the same level of deception underlies both. Until the public becomes sufficiently aware of the nature of this process, the enemies of the West will continue to use America’s liberties to sabotage it from within.
