Jesus Christ, how long, oh Lord, how long?
From Weasel Zippers:
Employees removed a crucifix in a room at the Catholic clinic Saint-Vincent de Paul in Bourgoin-Jallieu after the Muslim father of a patient demanded they do so before treating his daughter.
Marie-Therese Besson, manager of the clinic, says that people who choose to be treated at the clinic know that they are a Catholic establishment. It says so clearly at the entrance and the nurses wear a Catholic habit. She adds that there is a small crucifix in every room. In this incident the nurse did what was necessary to calm down the situation.
The Saint Vincent de Paul Bourgoin-Jallieu clinic is part of l'Alliance des maternités catholiques. Sister Marie-Mathieu, head of the board of directors for l'Alliance des maternités catholiques, says the issue will be brought up in the next meeting of the ethics committee. She say that they occasionally face such situations in their institutions, the last time being several months ago when a father broke a crucifix in a clinic in Aix-en-Provence and threw it in the trash. That incident was not tolerated.
The administration says that they regularly treat Muslim women and respect their wish to be veiled. Sister Marie-Mathieu says that such incidents go against the basic tenant of mutual respect.
Rest here>>>>
This story calls for a Bible verse (all you non-believers can just laugh at me, or avert your eyes, whichever you prefer :)
Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death.
Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
The Lord says, "I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea, that you may plunge your feet in the blood of your foes, while the tongues of your dogs have their share."

ReplyDeletePastorius,
ReplyDeleteAnd they accuse us of intolerance! These people can't stand crosses, even in a Catholic hospital where the doctors are trying to save their lives. Apparently, only Dracula fears the cross more than these people.
Hah! The thing in your hospital room that will most effect your recovery is not what is hanging on the wall. Jesus is a nice quiet roommate, which is more than can be said for the 4 nuts I've had to share hospital rooms with over the course of 2 accidents.
ReplyDeleteAfter my first accident (1984) I spent a week in a Catholic hospital with all the trimmings. The only person who mentioned religion was a very kind priest who prayed for me when I awoke from surgery, and that was only to ask if I was Catholic, which would effect the form of prayer (responses, etc.)
The non-demoninational hospital I was in for a month back in 2004, at least two staff members questioned me directly about my religious beliefs with relation to my accident and recovery. I found that intrusive and said so.
When in Rome and Do Unto Others. Sound advice for both sides to remember.
Just have a sign at the door:
ReplyDeleteNo Hos,
No Mos,
and no Ho Mos.
Not one is a race, but a perverted belief system.
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteBig problem with your idea, hospitals can't just refuse to treat someone because of their political or religious beliefs, no matter how abhorrent.
Is's amazing to me the tolerance Muslims demand but are only willing to offer the opposite in return.

ReplyDeletee of usa,
ReplyDeleteI know, these people were trying to save his daughter's life, you would think he would be a bit more appreciative. They would do all the could to keep her, or anyone else alive, regardless of their religion. That fact alone disproves the Islamic belief that all non Muslims are evil and deserve death.
Can you imagine if I were in a Saudi hospital -- God forbid! -- and demanded that Islamic symbols be removed?
ReplyDeleteYou do realize what's going on here in this posted story? Colonizing!
AOW,
ReplyDeleteI agree. And, this is a very obvious and insulting form of colonizing, and that is what prompted me to include the Bible verse from Psalms at the end of the post.
However, if I am to be honest with myself, Sharia finance, oil prices, etc. are also a form of colonization. And yet, I do not protest as much when they are stuck in my face.
That betrays intellectual weaness on my part.
So, what that teaches me is, from now on, I must say no to all Islamic colonization with the same fury as I react to this cross story.
See! ?? Now this Christian as the nice guy thing is proving to turn and bite us in the a$$es. Some of the more literate and worldly Islamists know it, and they use it against us. THIS could very well be our downfall, whereby the NICEGUY will finish LAST.
ReplyDeleteDamien and e of USA:
ReplyDeleteThis is where you and many other people in the West (especially USA) make the mistake of assuming that Muslims think like WE DO. Got some news for you and all the liberals out there.....THEY DON'T.
Oh, and by the way, for anyone wondering where the "moderate Muslims" are, they don't exist.
ReplyDeleteThe only ones considered moderate are EX-Muslims.
There can be nominal Muslims, just like their are nominal Christians or Jews. But it is true, that many of the genuine moderate Muslims reject their religion entirely when they really take a good look at it.
ReplyDelete"Employees removed"....the key item.
ReplyDeleteThe proclivity to be accommodating in this way is something inculcated into these employees over many years.
The enemy is the system.
The enemy are those who postulate that endless accommodation is ALWAYS the right approach.
Muslims can demand anything they want, and so can jews, zoroastrians, and bokononnists...it is up to those employees to determine respectfully whether such demands are reasonable or not. These people determined that no resistance was better, or that accommodation or appeasement was better, or that they just don't care.
The employees are an embarrassment to western civilization.
Honestly, Epa, I think this behavior has something to do with the flawed analysis of verses like
ReplyDelete"the meek shall inherit the Earth,"
and
"turn the other cheek."
I think I will have to write on the real meaning of those verses, and do so here at IBA, even though this is not a Christian website. The problem is, enough of Western Civilization is inculcated in this misperceived Christian pacifism that we are destroying ourselves.
How is it that Christians never think about the fact that Jesus drove the merchants our of the Temple. He certainly did not do that by turning the other cheek.
And the world turns more Islamic, which is the idea here, as always. Everytime we make way for Islam, even in situations as seemingly harmless as this [seemingly I repeat] we are telling Muslims that Islam trumps our own culture. That we will 'respect' Islam at our own expense. And Muslims, as is their wont, are poised to get away with as much as they possibly can. Today it's crosses, tomorrow, churches, and so on and so on...
ReplyDeleteI fully agree how stupid this objection to the having the cross in the room is. NORMAL people worry for the patients health and hope they receive the best care - not that there is anything objectionable in the room to the point that IT takes priority over all else. Loons they are. The whole stinking lot.
ReplyDeleteEvery intersection with the kufr, every commerce, every experience is another opportunity to spread the domain of god. Every aggressive act is blessed, and every act of compassion and patience and consideration by the Christian world is yet another proof that Islam is meant to be superior.
ReplyDeleteBy the way
