WCBSTV.COM: Imam Linked To Bomb Plots Behind Controversial Ad Campaign
NEW YORK (CBS) ― After being linked to a plot to blow up city landmarks, a Brooklyn imam has a new target - subway ads explaining the true meaning of Islam.
Siraj Wahhaj, once a character witness for Omar Abdel-Rahman, the blind sheikh now doing life for plotting to blow up the world trade center in 1993, was also linked by the feds to a plan to blow up city landmarks. Now he's behind a controversial subway ad campaign pushing Islam.
"Horrible, absolutely horrible," one New Yorker said of the campaign.

ReplyDeleteYeah and the next thing you know they'll let people promote Judaism and Christianity in Saudi Arabia. Yeah right, if only! The one bright side to all this is that it shows just how much better we all than these sick Islam-o-Fascists!
Now imagine if somehow these adverts were manipulated to redirect the website and phone to Craig Winn's site or a suicide hotline instead.

ReplyDeleteYesterday, Fox News had a story on this. Of course, the anchors couldn't wait to move on to another story. I suspect that none of the anchors had seen Steven Emerson's Jihad in America. If they had, they'd be screeching about Siraj Wahhaj instead of blabbing on and on about stories that have little significance.
Babba makes an excellent point about Dawa. That's what it is, all right.

They've been giving us a few of these lately. Something may be up.

Then the audience for this campaign exists not on public transportation, but within Wahhaj's own congregation, and congregations like his.
The language of the suicide bomb, hijacked aircraft destroying capitalist superstructures, SUV's driven into pedestrian areas, trains/buses exploding and when malls/classrooms/jewish centers become shooting ranges - all in the name of allah - it is not the daily commuter with misconceptions Wahhaj needs be concerned about.
First things first, Wahhaj has to effectively confront the misconceptions of his own followers and belief system.
They've opened up the door however, if they can plaster public places and public transportations with propaganda,

and women's rights advocacy signs, such as Stop Honor Killings with graphic photos,
would suit this purpose. Or even better, support of worker rights reforms in Saudi,
there are those organizations that I'm sure would love the publicity,
issues that need to be out in public forum and since the Wahhaj is intent on showing peace I'm sure they wouldn't have any issue with having these types of posters and ads next to their,
Islam is Peace.
