Biden to Progressives in Latin America....'we 're sorry, we're really really sorry we acted that way'

It's not Carter II, it'S Carter on crack.

No more US dictating to Latin America: Biden

US Vice President Joe Biden said that the United States would no longer "dictate unilaterally" to Latin America, and that it had entered a new era in the historically troubled relationship.

"The time of the United States dictating unilaterally, the time where we only talk and don't listen is over," Biden said in Santiago after holding discussions with a clutch of Latin American leaders at a conference at a Chilean beach resort.

Biden's five-day visit to meet leaders in the region, including a second stop in Costa Rica, aimed to pave the way for President Barack Obama, who is set to attend the Summit of the Americas next month in Trinidad and Tobago.

"My visit here is just the beginning of a renewal of a partnership with the Americas. In the past, even when we engaged positively we tended to engage 'for' the (western) hemisphere. We're not engaging 'for,' this is 'with,'" Biden added.

The US vice president met with the heads of state of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile during a two-day Progressive Governance conference focused on the financial crisis in Vina del Mar.

At the summit, Biden also reiterated that the Obama administration supported a change in policy toward age-old foe Cuba.

If you, Mr. Biden, believe a change in attitude towards other nations in this hemisphere is what you bring to the table, JUST DO IT, but don't FREAKING GROVEL FOR REPRESENTING A SOCIETY WHOSE INFLUENCE IS THE RESULT OF GREATER ACHIEVEMENT VIA THE PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE, INDUSTRIOUSNESS, AND INVENTIVENESS OF IT'S PEOPLE

YOU FRIGGIN PUTZ

  1. US Vice President Biden may regret a history of the regular US invasions of its southern neighbours, the instigation of frequent coups, the regular blackmail of threats clear and oblique references to potential additional action if these nations chose to adopt an independant path.

Your site, is clearly different. It looks forward to the prospect of further US military sacrificing their lives for noble sake of excessive profits for the ultra wealthy scumbags so much loved by Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan and the Bushes.

  2. Luke, luke, luke you presume an awful friggin lot.

While you may look forward to defining the world as Smedley Butler saw it.... The US military in fact sacrificed very little for the United Fruit, etc.

What I object to (there are MANY authors and viewpoints here) is IDEA that being apologetic will HELP WITH ANYTHING.

What I object to is the idea that national interests in Latin America can be affected by such an attitude.

National interests are affected by things like what you are willing to pay for basing rights for your navy...LIKE CHINA DOES THERE TODAY.

Or the perceived amount of free cash you have to invest. Which will turn in MANY CASES into the lined pockets of bribed officials, given and received by those who UNLIKE US are untrammeled by the quaint idea of something like CONSCIENCE, which has NO PLACE to some.

It is incumbent on us to know what are mistakes, it is FOOLISH to think for a second that begging forgiveness as a displayed attitude of apologetics can accomplish anything besides encouraging those who wish you ill, that they can take advantage, and eventually cross an invisible line with the most horrific consequences.

Such people who think this way..like Mr's. Obama and Biden are delusional and historically have accomplished the exact opposite of what they seek, and what they 'hope' for.

    That is HUMAN NATURE
