WILL
The United States can do nothing to stop North Korea from breaking international law in the next 10 days by firing a missile that is unlikely to be shot down by the U.S. or its allies, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Sunday.
Appearing on "FOX News Sunday," Gates said North Korea "probably will" fire the missile, prompting host Chris Wallace to ask: "And there's nothing we can do about it?"
"No," Gates answered, adding, "I would say we're not prepared to do anything about it."
Last week, Admiral Timothy Keating, commander of U.S. forces in the Pacific, said the U.S. is "fully prepared" to shoot down the missile. But Gates said such a response is unlikely.
TIME FOR THE WAYBACK MACHINE:
In 1979, Secretary Brown took the first trip by a Secretary of Defense to the area. The Administration reassured the Saudis with F-15s and AWACS when war was threatened again in Yemen. However, Carter demonstrated that U.S. support for the Saudi kingdom had its limits when he announced that the aircraft were sent to the Gulf unarmed.
With two Aegis capable craft off the coast of Norkoland, and missiles designed to take out enemy launches IN THE BOOST PHASE, the idea that we can do nothing is TRULY that politically we are NOT PREPARED TO ACT.
The bad guys have NO REASON not to find the line they can't cross.
Unfortunately when they do, we will be at war.
Does this all sound hauntingly familiar, and DUMB?
Those aren't real North Korean women soldiers, are they? They look like the freakin' Rockettes rehearsing "Springtime for Lil Kim".
ReplyDeleterevereridesagain,
ReplyDeleteThose women are probably part of the elite. The elites in communists societies live significantly better than the common peasant. Obviously despite the famine not everyone in North Korea is starving to death.
Although it may not be true that Kim Jon Ill is the only fat man in North Korea, he's one of the few. He lives like a king while most of his people starve. Kim condemns capitalists for being power hungry, greedy, and not being compassionate, yet he lives like the worst stereotype socialists have for capitalist pigs. He lives a lavish life style that his ideology condemns. Animal rights activists and communist dictators are the most hypocritical people on the planet.
revereridesagain,
ReplyDeleteBy the way, just to let you know, I'm not dissing capitalism or pigs.
