Liberate America: Get ACTIVE.
I’ve got your election-day anniversary celebration, right here buddy.
ACTIVE is mounting a full-blown, nationwide, general strike against the dictator. Specific street actions, not mere protests, will go down.
Calling all the clans: Representatives of all allied organizations are asked to contact us, and we will be contacting them.
No one is to go work. No one is to go to school. Shopowners are to keep their doors closed. Spread the word. The mobilization has begun…
And the strikes will continue with disturbing regularity, and ever-growing numbers. We are going to shut this country down, and force them to back down.
Repeat: this is not a one-day event. We are going to shut this country down.
You heard about “A Day Without A Mexican”? Try a day without an American. And bear in mind that an American is not defined as an American citizen. An American is an American citizen who is an ardent, and therefor duty-bound supporter of the US Constitution.
The Revolution has begun. Stay tuned for details. And immediately, get ACTIVE with us.
Do you approve of how President Obama is handling health care reform?

And CNN's readers are tradionally large supporters of both the Democratic Party and the Obama Administration. Do I see some discontent brewing amongst his allies?
By the way, I largely disagree with the President's policies (domestic and foreign) and I certainly disapprove of the direction he's taking this country, but I still wouldn't label him as a dictator.
Total,
ReplyDeleteI agree. Obama is not a dictator. I posted this post exactly as Pat Dollard posted it.
I'll make my reservations about that title clear in the post.
I know your views on the President pretty well by now, Pasto. Although, like me, you are not a fan of Obama, you always defend him when bloggers and commentors make outrageous and heinous remarks about him. I think we at IBA generally leave all the disgusting, outrageous, and heinous remarks to the moonbats and dhimmicrats (i.e. Bush is worse than Hitler). I noticed that those who do make distasteful remarks at IBA (no matter what their view may be) are promptly dealt with.
ReplyDeleteSince we're already having a blast criticizing the POTUS, here are some words from Bud Day, Medal of Honor Recipient (which I think are very worthy to be on this website):
ReplyDeleteMay 26, 2009
After I returned in 1973, I published 2 books that dealt a lot with “real torture” in Hanoi. Our make believe president is branding our country as a bunch of torturers when he has no idea what torture is.
As for me..put thru a mock execution because I would not respond…pistol whipped on the head…same event.. Couple of days later…hung by my feet all day.
I escaped and got recaptured a couple of weeks later. I got shot and recaptured. Shot was OK…what happened after was not.
They marched me to Vinh. put me in the rope trick, trick almost pulled my arms out of the sockets Beat me on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut, and my unshot, unbroken hand a pulp.
Next day hung me by the arms…rebroke my right wrist…wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands, rolled my fingers up into a ball. Only left the slightest movement of my L forefinger. So I started answering with some incredible lies.
Sent me to Hanoi strapped to a barrel of gas in the back of a truck.
Hanoi, on my knees..rope trick again. Beaten by a big fool.
Into leg irons on a bed in Heartbreak Hotel.
Much kneeling–hands up at Zoo.
Really bad beating for refusing to condemn Lyndon Johnson.
Several more kneeling events. I could see my knee bone thru kneeling holes.
There was an escape from the annex to the Zoo. I was the Senior Officer of a large building because of escape..they started a mass torture of all commanders.
I think it was July 7, 1969, they started beating me with a car fan belt. In first 2 days I took over 300 strokes..then stopped counting because I never thought I would live thru it.
They continued day-nite torture to get me to confess to a non-existent part in the escape. This went on for at least 3 days. On my knees..fan belting.. cut open my scrotum with fan belt stroke. opened up both knee holes again. My fanny looked like hamburger..I could not lie on my back.
They tortured me into admitting that I was in on the escape..and that my 2 room-mates knew about it.
The next day I denied the lie.
They commenced torturing me again with 3- 6- or 9 strokes of the fan belt every day from about July 11 or 12rh..to 14 October 1969. I continued to refuse to lie about my roommates again.
Now, the point of this is that our make-believe president has declared to the world that we (U.S.) are a bunch of torturers. Thus it will be OK to torture us next time when they catch us….because that is what the U.S. does.
Our make-believe president is a know nothing fool who thinks that pouring a little water on some one’s face, or hanging a pair of womens pants over an Arabs head is TORTURE. He is a meathead.
I just talked to MOH holder Leo Thorsness who was also in my sq in jail, as was John McCain, and we agree that McCain does not speak for the POW group when he claims that Al Gharib was torture, or that “water boarding” is torture.
Our president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing our great country are a disgrace to the United States. Please pass this info on to Sean Hannity. He is free to use it to point out the stupidity of the claims that water boarding, which has no after effect, is torture. If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC…hurrah for the guy who poured the water.

By Obama's standards, Obama is torturing me.
ReplyDeleteTotal,
ReplyDeleteWe do promptly deal with them, but we rarely remove their remarks.
And, only once have I banned a commenter, and that's because he just kept repeating the same obnoxious thing over and over for days on end.
I love that people get to have their say here.
By the way, thanks for pointing it out to me that I posted a title with which I don't agree. Sometimes I post things because they are interesting, and I forget to do the responsible thing and make my own pov clear.
Well, by the time you think it is appropriate to call him a "dictator," you will have no venue to do so.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I am concerned, the "dictatorship" began under Bush with the banks being "forced" to participate in TARP.
BHO has just expanded on that.
The entire handling of this "crisis" (and you will notice that the definition of "crisis" just keeps expanding to justify the power grabs) has resembled a dictatorship much more than a Constitutional Republic, so I think I understand Dollard's hyperbole.
Let's just call it a little "artistic" or "journalistic" license.
As I said, once it is literally a full-fledged dictatorship, you won't have this venue to discuss it anymore anyway.
Ro
Ro,
ReplyDeleteYou are correct in saying that the kind of "dictatorship" we are experiencing began under Bush with TARP. And, Obama has intensified it.
It's as if our government has gone mad.
I know a lot of people who believe this was all manipulated by some secret hand behind the scenes, and that Obama and Bush are merely carrying out the plans of that secret hand.
That's sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. But, it is hard to understand Bush's behavior in the final months of his tenure. But, he was always a "compassionate Conservative".
I dunno, Pastorius - it seems that once folks get into the DC mindset they just become "statist" (with a few exceptions).
ReplyDeleteNot some "secret hand" - just garden-variety "power corrupts" and "someone has got to DO SOMETHING" attitudes.
Now, there was that report that someone or some institution was withdrawing massive amounts of cash from the system in the days leading up to TARP - and maybe that was true, and maybe that person or persons tried to manipulate the system to favor Obama.
But no one in the media has followed up on that to my knowledge.
No one publicized it at the time, and certainly Bush could have been more transparent about what was going on.
I think these guys are all puffed up and full of themselves and think they know better that the great unwashed masses. In my opinion it is probably not a conspiracy.
It's human nature. Hence the need for separation of powers among the branches, limitations on federal power, protection of unalienable rights, and states' rights. The founders were freakin' brilliant, in my opinion.
Ro
Ro,
ReplyDeleteYou can take heart in this:

Ro,
ReplyDeleteI sent your comment to my friend Reliapundit, cuz he understands economics better than I. Here is his response:
MAYBE, BUT NOT LIKELY.
THE CRASH HELPED OBAMA (NO DOUBT ABOUT IT), AND IT CAME TOO LATE TO HELP MITT OR GET MITT ON THE TICKET. (MCCAIN PICKED PALIN ON 8/29 - BEFORE THE CRASH).
SO THE TIMING WAS PERFECT FOR OBAMA.
SOME OF THE CRASH WAS A REACTION TO HIS TAKING THE LEAD, MAYBE.
MAYBE GOLDMAN SACHS DID IT. DUNNO BUT DOUBT IT.
I THINK THE BUBBLE BURSTED DUE TO THE OIL BUBBLE CRASHING RETAIL SALES.
AND THAT BURSTED THE REAL ESTATE BUBBLE.
THE OIL BUBBLE WAS SPECULATIVELY FUELED - PARTLY BY PROGRAMS WHICH TOLD FUND MANAGERS TO TAKE MONEY OUT OF STOCKS AND PARK THAT MONEY IN OIL.
IF THERE HAD BEEN NO CRA OR FANNIE MAE OR FREDDIE MAC THEN THERE;D HAVE BEEN NO REAL ESTATE BUBBLE.
OR, IF BANKS HAD JUST NEVER STOPPED DEMANDING A 15% DOWNPAYMENT: THEN PEOPLE DON'T WALK AWAY FROM MORTGAGES. BUT MANY TOOK BIGGER MORTGAGES THAN THEY COULD REALLY AFFORD CUZ THEY WERE BUYING JUST TO FLIP BASED ON THE BIGGER FOOL THEORY AND THE BUBBLE ONLY THEY GOT STUCK HOLDING THE BAG.
THEN THE BANKS RAN TO THE FED GOVT TO GET BAILED OUT.
I agree with him. It's more logical than to think some hidden hand could have worked the machinery to get Obama elected.
Pastorius - I do not think there was a conspiracy. However, there are facts that might lead one to believe that there were people or institutions active in, for instance, withdrawing trillions from the "system" in August '08.
ReplyDeleteAs to whether the banks all "ran" to the Fed - that is not wholly accurate. Several large banks did not want to participate, but were told to "or else" by the Bush administration - this per the Financial Times. (I can try to find the link, but I read it in the paper edition). That is one reason the market for the crap assets has not cleared, and one reason inter-institutional lending did not pick up the way it was supposed to after the "liquidity" infusion. (Those statements per the several analyses published over the last year in the WSJ).
However, I believe that there probably was not a "conspiracy." Just the garden-variety corruption by power - exactly the thing our form of government was created to avoid (or at least minimize).
But I do disagree with you on a fundamental point, Pastorius. I do not believe the take-over of the car cos.; the forcing of the TARP; the (apparently) forced acquisitions by BofA; the AIG bail out; etc. are merely "outside the American Tradition." I believe that they are illegal.
Just as illegal as the FDR programs were.
We are exceptional because we were founded as a nation of laws and not of men. No majority vote of a President gives him the legitimacy or authority to do what this administration has done. (Bush was similarly overstepping legal boundaries at the end of his tenure).
The Constitution is clear - power is to be spread amongst the branches. Power is split among the federal government and the states. This is law, not tradition or opinion.
I don't care if a court says it is OK to ignore the bankruptcy code, or to disarm citizens, or to enforce "hate speech" laws - ALL THOSE THINGS ARE ILLEGAL under our foundational law.
The courts during FDR's tenure finally reached the right conclusions about his programs - but not before his infamous scheme to "pack" the court to bless his socialism.
If people do not understand and acknowledge that the Constitution is the basic legal architecture of this country, we are left with mob rule.
Why do you think this administration is supporting an anti-Constitutional usurper in Honduras? How can our leadership possibly support an attempted coup by the violation of the rule of law???
Well, the exact same thing is happening here, just less overtly. And it happened under FDR. And they amended the US Constitution to ensure it would not happen again - hoping that term limits could limit the damage a power-hungry executive could inflict on the citizenry.
So, if subscribing to the law of the land makes me a right-wing extremist or unrealistic, or fear-mongering, or alarmist - so be it.
If we lose the battle for our Constitution, we have lost everything. We are then completely a nation of men and not of laws.
Those usually end up as dictatorships. Which I guess is better than the alternative - failed states.
If people think I am overstating this, they need to read "Liberal Fascism" by Jonah Goldberg and then GO READ SOME OF THE ORIGINAL SOURCES.
Reading a bit about the philosophical foundations and history of the Enlightenment wouldn't hurt, either.
Because they probably don't teach anything about that in public school anymore, do they?
