BENGHAZI, Libya (Reuters) – Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi called on Thursday for a “jihad” or armed struggle against Switzerland, saying it was an infidel state that was destroying mosques.

“Any Muslim in any part of the world who works with Switzerland is an apostate, is against (the Prophet) Mohammad, God and the Koran,” Gaddafi said during a meeting in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi to mark the Prophet’s birthday.

“The masses of Muslims must go to all airports in the Islamic world and prevent any Swiss plane landing, to all harbors and prevent any Swiss ships docking, inspect all shops and markets to stop any Swiss goods being sold,” Gaddafi said.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry said it had no comment on Gaddafi’s remarks.

  1. I agree with Gaddafi. Muslims should have absolutely no dealings whatsoever with the Swiss (and vice versa).

Of course to be consistent he should have told the hundreds of thousands of Muslims living in Switzerland to, you know, LEAVE.

  2. do the Swiss have a military?-they could do what Reagan did and send a few jets to stop the threats that the 'daffy' one was making---
Geez-brings back the memory of the French not letting our jets fly over their country --we lost a pilot and plane because of it....just recently forgave them for that ...
because it seems that some French people have awakened too...favorite French blogger being one!...

  3. jeppo makes a good point, even if in jest.

When Qaddaffi made this statement the Swiss should immediately halt all immigration from Libya and it's allies - all OIC nations. Non-citizens from these allied nations should receive 30-60-90 day notice to prepare for repatriation and then without ceremony, deportation - at Swiss taxpayer expense. If Libya refuses re-entry, Libya/OIC expats will be deposited at the nearest OIC/UN site, where the UN can 'negotiate' to their hearts content.

Each time Iran's mental midget, Libya's hermaphrodite, or any other OIC spokesman speaks ill of - or threatens any Western interests - similar steps should immediately be taken. Let the UN handle all of it - in the heart of OIC states.

If the UN refuses as well, simply stop funding them immediately. Let the OIC/UN choke on it.
