Guns Make Tingles Quake

I think Skip Coryell (founder/organizer of The Second Amendment March) and I have some things in our closets that would make Tingles absolutely need to run home and change his shorts.

"If you were surrounded right now by a million people in Washington all armed like yourself would that bother you?"

"No not really. I'm from Michigan, I do it quite often"

And I'm from Pennsylvania and do all the time.

Radio Vice online:

Matthews challenges 2nd Amendment advocate over…bazookas?
April 19, 2010 at 11:09 pm by Jim Vicevich

Oh brother, I hate it when 2nd amendment arguments descend to this level. Chris Matthews has a Second Amendment activist on his show clearly with the intent of turning him into a kook.

But when Skip Coryell won’t take the bait … well it gets little crazy, which I guess was Matthews intention but its Matthews who ends up like a kook. Surprise! The money question and answer comes at 2:09 when Matthews asks if everyone in DC would be better off carrying. Hey give me credit, even I knew the answer to that one.

I don’t know too many people who want to carry a bazooka onto the Washington Mall … but given that it’s Washington. And yes Chris, people would feel safer carrying a hand gun, which is all Skip was talking about … and the reason is, a cop is just too damn heavy to carry.

  1. When the Constitution was adopted (Second Amendment also) allowing citizens the right to bear arms (notice the terminology), not guns or rifles, but arms; the most common arm was a rifle. At that time a rifle was right up there in league with the most deadliest of military armaments. There's not that light years of a difference between a rifle and the deadliest and most powerful weapons used by the militaries of the time namely cannons.
In 1783 the populace actually possessed more firepower by far than the regular military establishment of the USA.
The same argument could be made on the eve of the civil war also.
While I'm not outright advocating the legalization of Bazookas I'm not so sure John Adams and Thomas Jefferson wouldn't have had.

  2. WHat would really shake Matthews up is to learn it is NOT illegal to own a fully operational RPG (what he calls a bazooka, an obsolete term).

They are classified as a destructive device under the NAtional Firearms Act and getting the permissions to own one is a major pain in the ass, plus there is a heavy tax on every item you buy (and you have to go through the whole process again) BUT they are not illegal to own if owned properly (different states may have additional restrictions).

    Good luck finding one, though.
