The proximate reason will be that critical progressives who believe America evil at birth, did not get their fundamental change at the time they wanted it, in the way they wanted it and that those who oppose them, which turned out to be the MASS OF AMERICANS, did not bend over and shout "WE'RE NOT WORTHY, YOU ARE RIGHT, WE ARE WRONG"
People like Howard Dean who can conceive of no other reason ultimately but racism to oppose the great progressive ideals are dangerously close to becoming A DANGER to civilized discourse and a danger to self government and the republic itself by INCITEMENT TO HATRED, and what will result from this pattern.
They need to take a step back and exercise their brain's control of their mouths.
HOWARD DEAN ... ON FOX NEWS TODAY:
"Fox News has helped the Republican Party foster racism by focusing on allegations of reverse racism."
......................................................................................................I don't think Newt Gingrich is a racist, and I don't think you're a racist," Dean told Fox News host Chris Wallace, "but Fox News did something that was absolutely racist. They took a - they had an obligation to find out what was really in the clip. They had been pushing a theme of black racism with this phony Black Panther crap and this business and this Sotomayor and all this other stuff."
When Wallace interrupted Dean to point out that Fox did not air the excerpted Sherrod footage until after the Obama administration had fired her based on it (the excerpts were featured on Fox News's website prior to her firing), Dean shot back "It was about to go on Glenn Beck, which is what the administration was afraid of."
Beck did not even MENTION Sherrod in his broadcast that day
And Dean mildly rebuked the Obama administration, as well, saying, "We've got to stop being afraid of Glenn Beck (a Fox News host) and the racist fringe of the Republican Party. But Fox News was not blameless during this. You played it up."
Dean dismissed Wallace's point about timing, asserting "you didn't do your job," and charging that Fox News has helped the Republican Party foster racism by focusing on allegations of reverse racism.
"The tea party called out their racist fringe and I think the Republican Party's got to stop appealing to its racist fringe. And Fox News is what did that. You put that on," Dean said. "Continuing to cater to this theme of minority racism and stressing comments like this - some of which are taken out of context - does not help the country knit itself together."
Howard Dean needs an enema.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he represents much of anyone but Howard Dean and a lunatic fringe.
IMHO that is a mistake to assume.
ReplyDeleteThat is precisely what 'they' say about those whose desire for fiscal responsibility allows them to be characterized as 'tea baggers'.
Since THAT is a delusion I have to feel that the reverse MAY be as well and personally I believe MANY MANY on the left believe precisely what is Dean is saying.
Not only did Beck not mention Sherrod the day the story broke, but the next day he pronounced the tape to be bogus, pointing out that it seemed to be part of a longer story, excerpted, and going in the direction of a teachable moment tale.
ReplyDeleteI believe Beck was the ONLY major media figure to point this out.
ReplyDeleteThe Anchoress seems to have been among the few bloggers to have caught on right away.
Maybe Dean wants an armed civil conflict? It could well give Obama the chance he needs to declare martial law and toss out our Constitution entirely.
ReplyDeleteAm I paranoid? Perhaps.
But the Dems have to know that this coming November won't be going their way.
Dean only thinks he wants an armed conflict. He is counting on somebody else to do his dirty work in that case. It may not happen that in a civil war, 100% of the military and 100% of the police will back his side.
ReplyDeleteWe all must do our best to stop any type of armed action w/in the US against those who disagree.
I think Dean may have advanced untreated syphilis.
