All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Dave Matthews Band with Robert Randolph Louisiana Bayou
DMB is from Virginia. I was living in Charlottesville while they were rising as a local band. My teenagers were crazy in love with the band, at the time. One Christmas-time days, my husband and I went to go see Cameron Crowe's "Vanilla Sky." C'ville has street musicans all along its downtown mall, especially on weekends and holidays. There was one guitar player, in particular, that really impressed me. He was young. After we got to the theatre lobby early, my husband got a jug of popcorn, and I excused myself to go back and put $5 in the kid's money dish. If I had done it in front of my husband, he would have balked a little. $5 is a lot to us. But we've always had more than we needed. God bless America! Anywho, I'm hurrying back to the theatre, and I notice a crowd walking down the mall. They are following someone. It's a little hullabalou. Turns out to be Dave Matthews. Well, I like to oogle as much as the next girl, he's cute, so I walked along till I got to the theatre at which time I screamed: "Hey Dave, Merry Christmas!" I have a big mouth. He turned and smiled and waved and returned the Season's Greeting! I liked Vanilla Sky. My husband didn't. Who wouldn't want to watch Penelope? Anyway, three days later my husband is in Sears and who is there shopping, looking at wrenches and screwdrivers, but Dave! He signed an autograph for my husband for our youngest daughter and managed to snag her the best Christmas gift ever!
Well, if you've got this far, this is what I have been adding to for the last couple of days, and this is the kind of activism that you and I, from out couches, can do easily, get the word out, fight the fight, tell it like it is. This is a small newspaper in a small town in PA. Hopefully, I made you proud Midnight Rider!
No, dude, I'm a Virginian. I stumbled upon this because of the EC quote at the end! I will boycott Elvis as he did Israel, not a penny more from me to his pockets, ... but I still find myself following his news. It came up on an Elvis news search because of the end quote.
I'm one of my old cat's names. I got there first:)
Anywho, yes, from my couch, watching my mother shake and babble, hopefully I was able to get through to somebody in Altoona, PA. I haven't checked it today, but I think we were really kicking ass there! Go team!
Since I know you're up in PA, I thought of you once I realized it was a paper in a small town in PA. What a fucking idiot the kid who wrote the stupid thing, is!
I like to send people to Glen, cause there are just news stories there, no comments, so it's up to the reader to form her own conclusions/opinions. But yes, I could have mentioned IBA. I know I have on other article rants.
But ... I just got told to give it a rest, so to speak, by someone on our side! So, I think my work there is done:)

Ohh Lilybean Lilybean wherefore art thou my Lilybean?
ReplyDeleteThou lovest us not
no more even
recommending the ROPMA
and not IBA!
Yet at givin' 'em Hell
and handin' 'em their ass
thou dost excel.
Thou needst to bring them here
to see speak and hear
the word JEW without fear.
Hee!

NEVER EVER REST! That's when they'll hit us again!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that, MR! Yes, there is no rest. I love my country. I love my heritage. Thank you.
