Proof that S.F.’s circumcision ban Is anti-Semitic

From Zombie:
As you may have heard by now, San Francisco will be voting this November on whether or not to ban circumcision in the city.

Defenders of the measure say it’s all about “human rights” and “protecting babies” from unnecessary procedures.

But critics suspected there was something vaguely anti-Semitic about the whole proposal, since among Jews (and Muslims, as well) circumcising male babies is a religious duty, not just a mistaken medical procedure.
Ban proponents insisted their proposal had nothing to do with Jews — really, it’s all about the rights of children.

Well, any doubt that they were lying have now been dispelled, with the publication of new campaign literature for the upcoming circumcision ban. The campaign comic book, called “Foreskin Man,” after its baby-saving superhero, features a litany of evil Jews doing battle with blond Nordic saviors.

Yes, really.

(Oh, and did I mention the artist’s last name is Hess? A relative of Rudolph, perhaps?)

Below you will find a selection of images taken from Foreskin Man, the campaign brochure for San Francisco’s anti-circumcision ballot measure. You tell me: anti-Semitic or not?

  2. Yes, they probably got some government funds. After all they're liberal, and they're protecting the rights of children .. SF has some serious evil dwelling there.

  3. A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God.

  9. Anonymous,
My answer is, America has, traditionally been a Bible-believing nation, and we do it as part of the "Covenant" with God.

That is not to say that everyone does it does so for this reason.

It is to say, those who were more educated in America tended to be educated at Christian Universities, because every major University in the United States began as a Bible-believing Christian University (including Haravd, yes that is true), and so we did it traditionally, and what is tradition sticks, often.

I'm sure many people would disagree with my answer.

If so, I'd love to here their reason.

I know that people will often discuss circumcision in terms of cleanliness, and I would imagine there are some benefits there as well.

But, I do not believe that was the original reason for circumcision, either in the United States or anywhere in the world.

  12. Vaginal abrasion. "Dry sex" is practiced in sub-Saharan Africa.10 34 Women place various drying agents in their vagina to absorb vaginal lubication. This practice may itself cause abrasion and fissures that provide a portal for the HIV virus.10 28 Circumcision also reduces vaginal lubrication, curtails the gliding action, increases friction and vaginal abrasions,35 so, when combined with "dry sex", may increase the risk of female HIV infection through abrasions. The combination of dry sex and circumcision appears to sharply increase the risk of male-to-female transmission of HIV. A recent preliminary report found that the female partners of circumcised males experience higher rates of HIV infection.36

Effect on condom use. Male circumcision removes nerves from the penis32 and causes significant loss of sexual sensitivity and function.33 For this reason, many circumcised men are reluctant to use condoms. A program of mass circumcision may reduce condom usage and have an adverse effect on the overall HIV infection incidence.

Circumcision of children. These RCTs, which studied HIV transmission among adults in Africa, cannot be used to support the practice of non-therapeutic circumcision of children. Infant boys do not engage in sexual intercourse so they are not subject to sexually-transmitted HIV infection. They, however, are subject to various complications of circumcision, including infection through an open circumcision wound with various pathogens, such as deadly CA-MRSA.38,39 Other risks include hemorrhage, exsanguination, and death;40 and various surgical accidents, including urethral fistula,41 penile denudation,42 and traumatic amputation of the glans penis.43

  13. Male circumcision would not reduce viral loads and would not reduce infectivity to the female partner. One study, however, has shown female circumcision to be strongly protective.30

    what a bunch of morons!

  14. Pasto,

1 - Don't give me Religious arguments and justifications for folkloristic rituals and customs !
I don't have the tools nor the will to combat beliefs and traditions !

2 - I don't know of any ADULT individual who inflicted upon himself ( from a free will ! ) such injury for the sake of "ESTHETICS !..." or "HEALTH" reasons !
    ( I saw worse things then that ! )
Ah, yes ! Kozo Okomoto chopped his dick with a nail-clipper... O.K. - now he is a self made Jew !...

3 - In case you have forgotten... The main duty of a parent, is to guard and protect his offspring from any harm and injury or physical abuse FOR ANY PURPOSE ! FOR EVER ! I'M SHOUTING NOW !!!

4 - For your info - Circumcision was "invented" in Egypt 6800 years ago to mark SLAVES ! This practice was used because it doesn't cripple or maim the slave and the most important thing was, he could reproduce!
Remember, in those days captive enemies were castrated ( until not long ago... ) !
Pharaohs and the ordinary Egyptians were not circumcised ! Mummies were found with their foreskin intact !...

Frankly, my man, as a Jewish guy, you are lying to yourself.

Do you believe in the God of the Bible, or don't you?

If you don't, then fine, go ahead and don't believe.

For God's sake, why do I have to argue with a Jew over this.

  28. Epa,
    I agree with you.

What's interesting is how this war is playing out at the same time as the fight against Sharia law within the United States.

As you are probably aware, when people bring legislation against Sharia law's implementation in states around our nation, it is invariably opposed by Muslims who proclaim, "You are attempting to make it illegal for me to practice my religion."

We think, no, we are attempting to make it illegal to use Sharia law as a legal authority.

What do you think is the difference between the two fights?

I guess it is that Jewish people are not attempting sneak circumcision into the law code as a requirement.

But neither have any Muslims (that I know of) attempted to sneak Sharia into our law code, have they?

I mean, I know they are attempting to have Sharia courts for domestic issues, but I believe Jewish people have the same thing here in America. If not, they do have Jewish courts in the UK.

That might be the stupidest compendium of 'foreskin warming' I have ever IMAGINED being said to justify CRIMINAL UNCONSTITUTIONAL behavior by a swayable mob.

I and every male in my family have been circumcised IN PERPETUITY, and NOT ONE has ever had any such imaginary, stupid, contrived set of symptoms such this list of galactically stupid smears.

Further, you cannot vote away the rights of man, anon.

No more than you could have SF vote on freedom of speech being too destabilizing for orderly governance.

I HOPE IT PASSES SO THE ENTIRE NATION CAN SEE WHAT SF IS, AND THE TORTUOUS ILLOGIC USED TO JUSTIFY A SOCIETY IN WHICH ALL NOT FORBIDDEN IS COMPULSORY

    ReplyDelete
  33. Why circumcision is not Sharia?
So long as Americans who happen to Muslims adhere to the constitution and local law, and want to use Sharia as ****custom**** to PASS ON HERITAGE they have every right to do so.

If they feel a law prevents the proper practice of their religion they have the same redress we all do.

Circumcision is a religious custom. It has, despite the truly stupid and comedic claims above presented without ANY PROOF, NO HARM associated with it when done by a Dr or specially trained and licensed Rabbi.

If SF tries to PREVENT this custom which is LAW among many to most jews that redress will certainly end up in SCOTUS. Importantly, no jewish teaching imposes this law on others, nor does the old testament make claim as the perfect word of a perfect being, to the ultimate authority to enforce this or any other custom on others as Sharia does.

I try to recognize "Anonymous" commenters by their repetitive themes, but I could be making mistakes.

For instance, I have no idea if you are the same person who is calling us "misogynists in the comment just above this.

It would help if anonymous commenters adopted some sort of consistent name.
