Ted Nugent Should Be In Prison

“It isn’t the enemy that ruined America. It’s good people who bent over and let the enemy in. If the coyote’s in your living room pissing on your couch, it’s not the coyote’s fault. It’s your fault for not shooting him.... If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”
     --- Ted Nugent
What the law says,
Threatening the President of the United States is a class D felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871. The offense is punishable by five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and 3 years of supervised release.
Threatening the President of the United States via an email, mail, or another person to person medium, is one thing.

But, when a high-profile human being calls for the assassination of the President of the United States as a speaker at a conference of a powerful organization like the NRA, I would argue the threat is tantamount to Sedition.

  1. I hope that you aren't serious...there is no threat in that statement.

  2. How about if I said this to you,

"Wow, you know Ann is smoking hot. Look at how she comes in the house in that sundress, shaking her tits and ass around, and not giving me any. Anyone who didn't fuck her, when she acts like that, would not be a real man. If she comes in the house like that one more time, and doesn't give it up, I'll either be dead or in prison."

  3. You've already heard my answer to that question, but I'll post it here for the evaluation of the infidel community:

Well, if the person making those remarks was a 40 year old overweight white hispanic handyman who lurks around the building, I would be very concerned and want him investigated. If it was Ted Nugent, I wouldn't care because it's unrealistic he would ever act on those statements. I'd actually be kind of stoked if Ted Nugent said things like that about my girlfriend, I'd tell all my friends about it.

  4. I don't know the first thing about Ted Nugent. Except for "Cat Scratch Fever," of course.

If he given to making extreme statements?

Has he said stuff like that about anyone other than Obama?

  5. So, I checked Wikipedia and see that Nugent has been shooting off his mouth for a long time. About politics, I mean.

Is he like Howard Stern? Don Imus? Roseanne Barr?

I cannot imagine that what Nugent said recently will result in recruiting anyone to support Romney. And his doing so at an NRA Convention will be more fodder for the gun-control freaks.

Frankly, I'm disgusted by what I see at nearly every turn these days.

Uh, I don't think that's a threat against the President. I think that's just him saying that if Obama is reelected, the 2nd Amendment is going to be thrown out first thing making it illegal to own firearms. However, the only way he is giving up that right is by either 1) fighting to death for it 2) breaking the law.

The reason the whole scenario of the your "rape" analogy doesn't work here is that he didn't say "Obama is coming in and pissing on your couch and it is your fault for not shooting him". He is just using an analogy. Surely you can't VOTE OUT a coyote from your house. The only way to deal with a coyote pissing on your couch is by shooting it. The only way you deal with Obama pissing on your couch is by voting him out.

I am sure common sense was lost on the Democrats when they picked this one up. Its like when someone uses the words "you people" in a conversation and the others think, "ah he must be racist!". The reaction of Democrats shows the way they think.

I would suggest taking a step back and looking at it with fresh eyes.

On another note: Is it just me or does everything in America just gets blown out of proportion these days? First Trayvon Martin and now this!

  8. AA,
Is it just me or does everything in America just gets blown out of proportion these days?

    Seems that way to me.

Now, I'm not exactly saying that Pastorius is wrong about this Ted Nugent thing. Nugent's having said those words at an NRA Convention was unwise, at the least.

America is all in uproar right now. I haven't seen this much tension since the Vietnam War days and those terrible days following the killing of Martin Luther King, Jr.

One reason that we have so much uproar is that we live in the Age of Instant Information.

    I agree.

I would assume that would make things clearer not cloud them with more doubt and misinformation. But I see your point. I think there isn't enough time left for "cool headed" interpretation. One person takes advantage of a situation, turns it into whatever they want and then everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. Voice of reason is lost in all the resulting commotion.

  10. He didn't threaten the President's life; you hysteric. On a related note Macy's is having a big dress sale this weekend. I'm sure you can find something lovely.

  12. Moral equivalency is making me gag.
People need to realize that there is a good side and a bad side here.
The Left IS EVIL, wake the fuck up!
Not every lefty or democrat, but the upper echelons and leadership have shown themselves every bit as fascist, racist, and intolerant as Nazism.
Anybody with a brain knows that Nugent's remarks have nothing to do with assassination, yet The Left almost daily makes serious and credible calls for violence and not a peep.
    WTF!
