When they started digging into Egypt, I thought, "Ah, here we go. Mitt needs to speak out on the behalf of the Christians who are being murdered, and whose Churches are being destroyed, and who are being hounded out of their own country."
Does he do it?
No.
He just keeps agreeing with Obama.
If Mitt Romney doesn't have any better ideas than to agree with Obama on Egypt, then he will be a terrible President.
What a dumbass.
6:34 PM CALIFORNIA TIME: WHAT THE HELL IS ROMNEY DOING? FOR GOD'S SAKE.
6:35 PM - ROMNEY SET OBAMA UP TO TALK ABOUT SCHOOLS AND EDUCATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE. - THIS IS BULLSHIT. THIS DEBATE IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT FOREIGN POLICY. --- WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?
6:37 PM - now schieffert wasnts to talk about foreign policy and romney says, no i want to talk more about education - this is BULLSHIT!!!
6:38 PM ROMNEY IS THROWING THIS DEBATE AWAY THE SAME WAY MCCAIN THREW AWAY HIS OPPORTUNITY TO WIN THE PRESIDENCY. - DID SOMEONE THREATEN HIM? THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE.
6:38 PM - AH, NOW WE'RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE MILITARY? NO, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE ECONOMY AGAIN.
6:40 PM - now obama is denigrating the idea of increasing the military budget - will romney bring up the f-22?
6:42 PM - NO, ROMNEY IS BACK ON BALANCING BUDGETS - UGH
6:42 PM - OK NOW HE IS TALKING ABOUT HOW SMALL THE NAVY AND AIR FORCE ARE - FINALLY!
6:43 PM - ROMNEY CALLS OUT OBAMA ON THE FACT THAT OUR MILITARY IS ONLY CAPABLE OF ONE THEATER
6:44 PM - OBAMA'S MAKING A FOOL OF ROMNEY - COMPARING HIS UNDERSTANDING OF THE MILITARY TO "BATTTLESHIP" - UNFORTUNATELY , ROIMNEY SET HIM UP FOR THIS -
6:49 PM - now romney sounds like he knows what he is talking about on iran
6:53 FINALLY!!!! ROMNEY COMMENTS ON OBAMA SAYING HE WILL "CREATE DAYLIGHT BETWEEN AMERICA AND ISRAEL" - CRITICIZING OBAMA FOR NOT BEING SERIOUS ABOUT KEEPING NUKES OUT OF IRAN'S HANDS
6:55 PM AND BECAUSE ROMNEY FINALLY WENT ON THE OFFENSIVE, NOW OBAMA IS FORCED TO OUTRIGHT LIE - HE IS SAYING HE NEVER "APOLOGIZED" IT'S A WHOPPER HE SAYS - FACT CHECKER SAY IT IS UNTRUE. - HAH - WHAT BULL SHIT

6:58 PM - OBAMA IS TALKING ABOUT HAMAS SHOOTING MISSILES AT ISRAEL - MAKING GOOD POINTS IN A COMEBACK - BUT NOW HE SAYS "WHO IS GOING TO BE CREDIBLE TO ALL PARTIES" - WHY DOES HE CARE ABOUT BEING "CREDIBLE" TO IRAN - IT DOES NOT MATTER - ALL THAT MATTERS IS WHETHER IRAN FEARS THE BIG STICK
6:59 PM - ROMNEY REPEATS IRAN IS 4 YEARS CLOSER TO THE BOMB - GREAT POINT
7:00 PM IT'S LIKE ROMNEY JUST WOKE UP - OUR INFLUENCE IS RECEDING - HE TALKS ABOUT SYRIA "30,000 DEAD' - NORTH KOREA - TENSIONS WITH ISRAEL ARE A REAL PROBLEM
10:09 EDT - Romney is about 5-10% better in his ideas and recognition in the issues of the ME. Moderate forces in Syria? WTF? There is no reason to think Syria would be on a different path than Egypt. NONE.. The key issue is what do you DO about a people's will for Islamist, Quranic govt? What is the best way to deal with that? It's not to teach them to accept the supremacy of secular law. Supreme of the Quran? Idiocy. The only good thing is Obama is worse
Pasto,
ReplyDeleteLol I can see why you're so frustrated.
Romney opened up his attacks early in the first two debates. The first debate, Obama was asleep. The second debate Obama took advantage of that toward the end in the last debate.
I'm glad Romney waited before going on the offensive. It pissed Obama off, you could clearly see him clenching his teeth in the latter half. It worked. Obama never recovered after Romney told him what he meant by the "apologetic tour".
Obama might have won the debate again, and I think once again Romney will come out a winner with the issues like the economy since it was discussed so much.
ReplyDeleteThem talking about domestic issues was expected.
Oh Romney distanced himself from bush policies...do you blame him? I don't. Bush's policies aren't all that popular.
The whole debate Romney didn't, to me, sound like he knew what he was talking about. As a republican, he seemed to have been walking a fine line between, "I'm not Bush but Obama sucks!" And he did a decent job.
Did Romney do awesome? No. And that's why I think he may have narrowly lost the debate.
Oh I am not sure why Romney didn't attack Obama on Libya.
ReplyDeleteHe might have been trying to be positive....a little too positive if you ask me.
And last time Benghazi was brought up, everyone jumped on Romney in the debate so maybe he didn't want to report that. Don't know.
Sorry, this:
ReplyDeleteThe whole debate Romney didn't, to me, sound like he knew what he was talking about. As a republican, he seemed to have been walking a fine line between, "I'm not Bush but Obama sucks!" And he did a decent job.
Should have been:
The whole debate Romney didn't, to me, sound like he DIDN'T know what he was talking about.
I was watching the post-debate analysis, and others seem to agree with you, Nico. The consensus seems to be that Romney was trying to distance himself from Bush, and that he was trying to lay low, so that Obama didn't have anything to fight with.
ReplyDeleteOk.
In my opinion, he lost the debate.
This one by a wider margin than the last one.
Obama sounded authoritative throughout the debate.
Romney sounded much better the last half hour and definitely had the better closing statement, by far.
So, Nico, what do you think the CNN poll will say this time?
ReplyDeleteI say it says Obama 51-40.
Maybe even 53-39.
ReplyDeletePasto, I am not good at guessing poll numbers like you are (last time you were right on the money in terms of how many points Obama won the debate by), I just think it will be a narrow win.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see.
But once again, I will say that this is not going to hurt Romney.
Obama has failed to stop the bleeding from the first debate and its not because he was asleep during the first debate. Its because Romney got a chance to present himself without all the media bias.
And I think people see more and more of that each time they debate, that is why its irrelevant who wins the whole debate based on how aggressive they were. People think on what the candidates said about the issues and they judge accordingly.
Sadly Obama's campaign was summed up by Biden, "They're gonna put ya'll back in chains..." AKA scare tactics. I just don't think people buy that anymore.
Nico, with the experience of the public's reaction to the second debate behind me, where the people made a distinction between who won, and the substance of the two debaters, I have to say, I agree. I don't think this bad debate performance will hurt Romney much, if at all.
ReplyDeleteSubstance-wise, it seems to me Obama lied just as much as usual, and over-estimated his success on initiatives the public does not care much about, but if they did, they would disagree on.
ReplyDeleteRomney's point about the Apology tour, and the point about not being "flexible" for Putin, were very important points.
They were deadly, really.
The CNN Poll is not complete but so far I AM WAY WAY WAY OFF.
ReplyDelete67% ROMNEY
25% OBAMA
CNN, 48 Obama, 40 Romney. 8 points, you were close again.
ReplyDeletePasto, that's the results for the first debate I think.

ReplyDeleteOh.
ReplyDeleteHeh.
Never mind.
LOL
Can you give me the link on the new poll?
ReplyDeleteApparently, I'm too stupid to find it myself.
LOL
I said Obama by 11-14%.
ReplyDeleteInstead, the CNN Poll says Obama by 8%.
Not nearly as close as I was last time.
Sorry just got to bed and I just read your comment on the phone. I'll try to find the link here if I can.
ReplyDeleteFor a CNN poll, 8 points is a narrow win especially for a liberal who was hailed as the messiah.
Here's the link: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/22/cnn-poll-who-won-the-debate/
ReplyDeleteFrom the parts I watched (not all of it by any means) O seemed petulant (again) and cornered but more, like a feral cat ready to pounce. Waiting for Romney to hit him on Libya or Syria, like he had prepared a response, an attack, intended to devastate Romney.
ReplyDeleteBut Romney never didn't give him the chance. He maintained a much borader picture view of things, a worldwide view as opposed to a Syria or Libya centric view.
In a debate like this people are oing to care more about the overall picture than the minutae of this incident, especially when the media hasn't been giving them much about the problems with the Libya story, anyway.
But again, I saw big bits and pieces, not the whole thing.
That said I'll call it even, 49% to 49&. Maybe 49%-48% O. But I don't think it was a deal breaker or maker UNLESS the economy as part of National Security discussions help decide for Romney.
And with that goodnight good people, the stockroom beckons in five short hours.
Thanks for you help.
ReplyDeleteSleep tight.
Cnn poll on who will be a good commander in chief? 63% Obama and 60% say Romney.
ReplyDeleteThat's huge seeing that Romney hasn't even been a president. And Romney was supposed to look presidential and I think he did.
MR is right in his analysis. Obama has been comin across as petty.
My 15 year old daughter who hates Romney and does not know much about politics, said Obama was rude, which is very close to saying he was petty.
ReplyDeleteI Think a lot of Americans are smart like your daughter and when they see petty and moronic idiots on tv, they don't like it.
ReplyDeleteObama hasn't learned that yet. Obama thinks he's the only one with a brain. He belittles Americans while bending over for other countries. I think it was Obama, not Romney, who threw away all three of the debates.
In fact Romney used the last debate to paint a positive picture. And that will help him in the long run.
I think you are likely correct on that, Nico. I expected this to be the important debate. Clearly, the Romney camp had another thing in mind.
ReplyDeleteStunning to me how different it was from my expectations.
