Calling this mosque "the gay mosque" clouds the real name: "The Unity Mosque." And that unity is what is going to bring the rage of the umma against this group.
ReplyDelete"The gay mosque" can be discounted as a product of "sick" people, but "the unity mosque," which will "...emphasize accepting everyone as equally God’s creation….I hope straight men will pray together with gay men and women, everyone, ...”
These people are reformers, and reformers inspire only rage among the fanatics. I don't think they will be able to remain hidden for long, because many "moderates" will want to worship there, which automatically will label them apostates and transform them into targets of jihadists.
These people are real transformers and are putting their lives on the line to reform that genocidal "religion." I wonder if they realize this is much larger than a "gay mosque" regardless of how provocative that sounds. The "equality and unity" are the real killers ...
May the Judeo-Christian God protect them, because the "moon god" will certainly not!
Other highlights of the article also show the intent of those behind the Unity mosque.
“We need to have a safe space for people who do not feel comfortable and at ease in normal mosques. “There are transgender people who fear aggression, women who do not want to wear head scarf or sit in the back of the mosque. This project gives hope back to many believers in my community.”
“Common prayer, practiced in an egalitarian setting and without any form of gender-based discrimination, is one of the pillars supporting the proposed reforms of our progressive representation of Islam.”
This is what the true "moderates" throughout the world should be doing. Creating places of worship which adopt only the benign parts of the Qur'an and rejects the violence and the hatred. But of course it would be an entirely different religion.
