According to WTOP, Abdul Kargbo, Saidu Kargbo, and Musa Seisay created quite a disturbance and challenged the lifeguard and the police. These young men were young adults - not minors. A "crowd" was involved. The three men were charged with resisting arrest, second degree assault and other offenses.
No further word yet as to what started the incident.

ReplyDeleteOfficers said a lifeguard told police that when he approached a group of men about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on the beach at North Division Street, one man threatened him.
Police say they questioned the man, who cursed at the officers and tried to leave. Authorities say when officers tried to arrest the man, others began to act in a threatening manner. Police said two men then assaulted officers.

According to police, around 2:30 p.m. officers were called to the beach at North Division Street for a report of a group of disorderly males. A lifeguard told police he approached the rowdy group to speak to them when he one of the men threatened him.
When police tried to speak to the man, identified as Abdul Kargbo, 25, of Woodbridge, VA he began cursing and yelling and tried to flee. A crowd began to gather as other members of the group threatened officers and caused a scene.
More officers were called to the beach and Kargbo, and two others Musa Seisay, 24 and Saidu Kargbo, 21 were taken into custody.
