FAA Says No More US Flights To Israel

I Will Use The Power of Federal Agencies
To Grind Them Into Dust

Another victory for Allah the Totally Gay:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Federal Aviation Administration told U.S. airlines Tuesday they are prohibited from flying to the Tel Aviv airport in Israel for 24 hours following a Hamas rocket explosion nearby.
The ban began 12:15 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, the agency said in a statement.
"Due to the potentially hazardous situation created by the armed conflict in Israel and Gaza, all flight operations to/from Ben Gurion International Airport by U.S. operators are prohibited until further advised," the FAA said in its notice to airlines.
The rocket strike landed about 1 mile from the airport, the agency said.
The notice applies only to U.S. airlines since the FAA has no authority over carriers from other nations.

  1. I would only fly El Al to Israel anyway!

  2. I agree with Charles Martel. One the one hand, I can understand a pause in flying into Ben Gurion. But, a pause on flying out of Ben Gurion makes very little sense.

  3. Yeah, I think Charles must be right.

Thing is, I suspect Obama is itching to do things like this to Israel because he thinks of it as "isolating them from the International Community".

You know how he is about that.

He threatens to do it to Russia.

He threatens to do it to Iran.

But he only ACTUALLY DOES IT TO ISRAEL.

  4. Avoiding airports in conflict areas is nothing out of the ordinary, something the Malaysian aviation authority should have known before their planes went around trigger happy Russian/Ukrainian rebel areas.

The fact that a rocket exploded near the airport is automatic grounds for stopping flights to and from that airport.

Not sure what Obama is trying to do here but what the FAA did is the right thing to do right now.

Besides, its a 24 hour ban, that is VERY reasonable.

All that said though, like Charles Martel I would only fly El Al too. Its literally the safest airline in the world.
