BYE BYE BOEHNER, and now what are we prepared to do?

So the tipping point turns out to have been over funding SOME KIND of market for parts of aborted fetuses.

If the Republicans want to WIN, then they should be prepared AS WELL to fund the contraceptive side of what Planned Parenthood did.

But never mind that.

The upshot of what is happening is that the Republican party base has HAD IT and is ready to go 3rd party or stay home en masse and WATCH the nation elect another D and see FURTHER disasters rather than elect another Mitch McConnell type president who is just another drone of the political class.

Nothing will be changed that way. DEAD END.

Goldwater got the Republican clock cleaned (perhaps partly as the result of a masterfully conceived commercial aired ONCE), but the result was Ronald Reagan.

The Republican base is signaling they would rather go this route than continue on the 5 mph train wreck we see in front of us engineered by those like Rove, McConnell and others whose knack for going along to get along and get some for their own is FAR GREATER than their need, and belief in serving the nation by sticking a flag in the ground on SOMETHING, LIKE A MARKET FOR DEAD FETUSES.

A MARKET FOR DEAD FETUSES.

A MARKET FOR DEAD FETUSES.

Abortion has its place and should be legal.

THIS AIN’T THAT, just as BORDER SECURITY AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT ILLEGALS ALREADY HERE ARE 2 SEPARATE THINGS.

Mr. McConnell has already said he will not permit a shutdown over something so trivial.

He is telling us all he knows better than our conscience, what is good for us.

I always thought that was the province of some other party.

But apparently with the current leadership, THERE’S NO DIFFERNCE

Abortion is legal: Roe v. Wade.

You are correct, Epa, that the GOP should have the cojones to defund the selling of human body parts. Period.

  2. "Abortion is legal: Roe v. Wade."

    Yeah, TODAY.
As Plessy and many other decisions show, court decisions are not legislation

  3. Epa,
Unless I'm mistaken, overturning Roe v. Wade is nearly impossible without another SCOTUS ruling to overturn.

It is also my understanding that many women who see the new high-res sonograms opt out of having an abortion. Furthermore, with the more accurate ept's, earlier term abortion is more of an option now.

  4. The notion of "Defunding Planned Parenthood" is probably the GOP's way of avoiding doing the right thing; which would be to actually prosecute those who were involved in the trafficking of human body parts.

God, AoW I hope you are right.

Rowe v Wade was 5-4, right?
According to Ted Cruz, 54 million evangelical voters stayed home in 2012. (Don't buy that #). But if he is only 10% right....
