Chelsea Clinton: Gun Control Opportunity on Supreme Court With Scalia Gone
Chelsea Clinton said Thursday at an event in Maryland that there is now an opportunity for gun control legislation to pass the Supreme Court since Justice Antonin Scalia passed away.
“It matters to me that my mom also recognizes the role the Supreme Court has when it comes to gun control. With Justice Scalia on the bench, one of the few areas where the Court actually had an inconsistent record relates to gun control,” Clinton said. “Sometimes the Court upheld local and state gun control measures as being compliant with the Second Amendment and sometimes the Court struck them down.”
Clinton then touted her mother’s record on gun control issues and knowledge that the Supreme Court has an effect on whether many gun control laws stand.
Pastorius kicking in:
I am a person who is willing to agree with an awful lot of things that I don't genuinely believe in.
For instance, I don't really believe in Gay Marriage. But I'm ok with it.
I don't believe women should be able to have abortions after three months (unless their life is in danger), and I don't believe any woman should legally be allowed to be so stupid as to need more than two abortions in a lifetime (learn your fucking lesson) but I certainly would not go to war over it.
I don't believe "Transgendered" people should be in opposite sex bathrooms. But I would still support Trump over any other candidate (even though he is for cocks hanging out in female bathrooms) because Immigration and Islam are MUCH MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES TO ME.
But one thing I am NOT willing to put up with is the government confiscating guns.
And if they decide to do so, I believe we will have a war.
And if we have a war, I AM THE KIND OF PERSON THEY SHOULD FEAR.
You know why?
Because I will agree to all kinds of things to get the central, most important things, taken care of.
AND THERE ARE MILLIONS, TENS OF MILLIONS OF OTHER MODERATE RIGHT-WINGERS OUT THERE WHO ARE LIKE ME.
AND THERE ARE MILLIONS, TENS OF MILLIONS OF OTHER MODERATE RIGHT-WINGERS OUT THERE WHO ARE LIKE ME.
And those to the right of us, who support gun rights even more than us, those guys are not fucking around.
They are not the kind of people you Leftist scum want in charge.
You may not know it, but you appear to be attempting to shoot yourself in the foot and it's just too god damned bad, you're going to miss, and you're going to hit your yourself in the head
Right in the brains.
You are in danger.
Well, they're not going to get them. Or, put another way, they will get them one by one at so prohibitive a cost to those they send out in the field that the project will have to be abandoned.
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd amendment is stated in plain English and has been interpreted as an individual right as intended by the people who wrote it. SCOTUS can interpret but they cannot change the plain meaning of the Constitution. They can try it but they will be ignored, correctly so, for overstepping their enumerated duties.
I say bring it on. It's time to settle this shit once and for all. Time to put these bastards in their place. I'm willing to give my life for that. And there are many more like me. III.
Another tragedy Chelsea has yet to imagine - in perspective - the horror inflicted by those like her mother who profess closing mental institutions and mainstreaming non-compliant patients like the monster involved in Sandy Hook - as a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThe sad episode of Ferguson shows us that law enforcement bureaucracies have a limited appetite for push back from citizens. There are really very few core officers in any given area. The rest of the force only work as a job that is easy to walk away from.
ReplyDeleteThe article V convention is one of the few peaceful options left should the next election not sufficiently alter the present fearful trajectory of the county.
Regarding "the life of the mother" and abortion, it seems that we need to remember that things like pre-eclampsia are resolved with.... the birth of the baby. And while babies may not survive in an environment of undiagnosed placenta previa, delivery of the baby and control of post-partum bleeding allows the mother to place the child at the breast. The goal should be a win-win situation for the "life of the mother" argument. Let it be a touchdown on both sides.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Chelsea: Of course she doesn't feel the need for a gun. She lives in an upscale apartment which probably has a gatekeeper at the front door, keypad entry, and double bolts. Possibly, the elevator also involves designated coded access. Some of us, practically live in farm houses. But it is not about the granular details of our lives. It is about our Constitutional right.
