So long, Pasto?

‘Calexit’ backers confident about latest plan to leave the United States

Just a few issues UNMENTIONED...

  • MIitary bases occupied by federal military... that's what CAUSED Ft Sumter
  • Companies with top secret contracts ...would have to leave..like oh ..Lockheed and North American (F-35 and B-2 and B-21)
  • There would NEVER be a democratic president in the USA for a generation AT LEAST, so every dem would oppose this
  • Finally, suppose a D president then promised military opposition to rebellion (which is EXACTLY the situation in 1861) ..rebellion was EASILY the most popular position then, as state legislature after state legislature voted to leave the Union
Otherwise NO PROBLEM

  1. Good Lord.

Are they having temper tantrums out there?

  2. Oddly, I have already accepted the fact that I will be forced to leave this state one day.

One problem I face is that I am a person who is capable of imagining another way of life, another frame of reference, where people understand the world differently. I don't think this is true about the people I am surrounded with.

They are able to make fun of the hicks they imagine outside California, but it doesn't seem that they are capable of understanding that there is a totally different life out there, in places where not everyone thinks they are intelligent because they don't believe in God, because they do believe in Global Warming, because they do believe that there are 57 genders.

These are the ways most Californians define intelligence.

  3. Pasto: How about a second career in Vegas? You won't be the first one!

  4. LOL

    As a lounge act?

I can sing my old 80's rock, and tell jokes about Muslims between songs.

  5. Perhaps you can persuade MR to come out and run the beat box for you.

  6. Pasto,
    You are always welcome here.

We've had a death in the family, and the house I'm renting to my cousin may be vacated. It's a really nice house, too: a rambler built in 1955; 3-4 bedrooms, and 3.5 baths; quiet dead end street in the City of Fairfax. I'll cut you a deal on the rent until you can get on your feet and "adjust" out here.

PS: We ain't hicks! Although the above-mentioned house has a horseshoes pit in the back yard.

  7. Pasto,

I think that we have nearby venues for that.

  8. Wow! That's a tempting offer, AOW. Unfortunately, I don't think I can move for about 5-6 years. Commitments.

  9. By the way, thanks for the kindness of your offer.

  10. I have been around most of the states of this country. The places I have enjoyed and think I could live are

Seattle (but the problems there are the same as here in California, so fuck that)
    Atlanta
    Austin, Texas
MAYBE on the West Coast of Florida,
and where you live. I really do like that area. It is beautiful.

  12. I told my wife about the photos and listings you send. Being a Filipina, she hates cold weather.

  13. I'm jealous.

I was hoping we could trade our star on the map with Puerto Rico.

  14. Pasto,
Contact me whenever. I have resources which are the result of living here all my life.

  16. OMG!

Check out the first 20 minutes of Tucker Carlson's show of August 1. He interviewed the leader of Calexit. Quite an interview!
