Lindsey Graham: I ‘Feel A Lot Better’ About Syria Pullout After Lunch With Trump

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Sunday he felt less concerned about President Trump pulling U.S. troops from Syria following a two-hour lunch with him at the White House.
“We had a great lunch. We talked about Syria and he told me some things that I didn’t know that make me feel a lot better about where we’re headed in Syria,” Graham told reporters shortly after the meeting.
“He promised to destroy ISIS. He’s going to keep that promise. We’re not there yet, but as I said today, we’re inside the 10-yard line and the president understands the need to finish the job.”

  1. I have a newfound respect for Senator Graham since his passion at the Kavanaugh hearing and the fact that he seems to be able to change his mind when provided new information. I don't have to agree with him in order to respect him.

  4. The Death of his butt buddy John McCain as well.

I wasn't happy myself when Trump announced our Withdrawal from Syria a few days after Erdogan announced he was preparing to send Turkish forces East of the Euphrates.

..... But thats because I never planned to give Eastern Syria back to the Syrians. I wanted to establish a greater Kurdistan in parts of Syria, Iraq, Turkey, and Iran. Not just because the Kurds have been the most helpful Ethnic group, but because I hate Syrians, Iraqis, Turks, and Iranians.

..... but That's just one reason I wouldn't make a good Commander in Chief ..... my foreign policy would resemble that of the Mongols.

Trump is perhaps more of a realist than I am. His lack of understanding in geopolitics lets him disregard the pitfalls other Presidents would have to endure to withdrawal troops from anywhere the Generals want them to stay.

I'm a commit to total war or bring our troops home kind of guy I guess, our military leaders are trained to abhor either.

We've all been conditioned since the Eisenhower administration to think of Isolationism as the gateway to global conflict, and perhaps it is ..... but being the world's policemen and draining our treasury to fund the arsenal of Democracy has just about run its course I think.

I want Trump to pull all our Troops out of Iraq, Europe, Korea, and Japan. And maybe let them train from a string of closely built bases along our southern border.

If our withdrawal from the world stage encourages aggressors to fill the void ..... thats not our problem really.... its nature equalizing itself. Mankind's history is the story of the strong subjugating the weak.

What we are doing now is allowing our allies to devote their GNPs to improving their economic, education, and manufacturing situations while the US taxpayer guarantees their national security.

If the world goes to hell, at least then maybe the total war option will be back on the table.
