Selfish and Irresponsible

    Brought a waitress over from the dark side today. She had not seen her elderly parents in nearly a year because of COVID. Heaped upon with guilt that she might kill them. Hell, I told her with her father being 90 years old, his next heartbeat might be his last for any given reason.

    I talked to her about not living in fear; about the depression that her parents must have because of being isolated.

    She is driving to Houston this weekend to visit them. I gave her an extra ten dollars on the tip to help defray gas expense.

    I have reasoned with fearful people for weeks now, and some good has been accomplished. Fear is an emotion which must be used sparingly.

    Yep. I agree.

    However, I'm not sure fear is so much an emotion as much as it is a brainless impulse.
