Jyllens-Posten crashes to earth? Dhimmitude

Danish newspaper apologises

A SAUDI-owned pan-Arab newspaper printed a full page apology from Jyllands-Posten, the Danish daily that first published cartoons of Prophet Mohammed unleashing a wave of fury from Muslims worldwide.

"These drawings apparently hurt millions of Muslims around the world, so we now offer our apology and deep regret for what happened because it is far from the paper's intention," said the statement titled "Apology" in big bold letters addressed to Muslim citizens and printed in Asharq al-Awasat.

It was signed by the paper's editor-in-chief Carsten Juste and was also posted in Arabic on Jyllands-Posten's website under a link titled "A new formulation for the apology."

Al-Zamakhshari, a commentator on the Qur'an, said that "the Jizyah shall be taken from them with belittlement and humiliation. The dhimmi shall come in person, walking not riding. When he pays, he shall stand, while the tax collector sits. The collector shall seize him by the scruff of the neck, shake him, and say "Pay the Jizyah!" and when he pays it he shall be slapped on the nape of the neck."

  1. Islamists care nothing for the "apology" they crow about. They want to cause and witness what they value so highly: humiliation. They recognize that those who take a moral stand against them and their doctrines leave them only physical force (threats and rage) as a "defense." Despite how powerful some people think raw physical force is, it is nothing compared to moral force.

When the Danish newspaper decided to take a moral stand for freedom of expression by publishing these cartoons, they shook Islamia to the core. Humiliation and derision are two elements Islamists can't deal with effectively, and this is what the cartoons meant to them, among other causes for their savagery. They mobilized physical force to try to scare Danes and others to become treasonous to their moral principles, which would greatly humiliate the Danes and the West. Other Islamists have tried to make this seem like some global uprising by Muslims. That much apparent force would surely scare the uncertain. It worked.

The Danes had great moral intent but not integrity. Their kowtowing set back civilization mightily. Every time Islamists initiate physical force and succeed, they grow stronger and their enemies (us and the West) grow weaker. Nothing could take down the West faster than complete moral uncertainty about our civilization and cardinal values. Islamists know it, and that is what they seek.

However, not all of us will give up without a fight, and we will never surrender to mobs. True, we have a lot of moral weenies in America, but we will succeed despite them.

There's a great line from Atlas Shrugged, spoken by a key protagonist and steel industrialist, Henry Rearden. The line is good enough to be taken out of the context of the novel to apply to the linguini-spined: "I am sorry...that I will be obliged to save your goddam necks along with mine."

  2. Is it possible that this was contrived by the Saudi paper in hopes that it would serve their own causes? Or it could've been exaggerated. If so, it doesn't surprise me. Islamists are capable of doing these things if they think it can help their evil causes.

  4. There has been put ads into several arab newspapers containing an apology by Jyllandsposten.

But the ads have not been paid by Jyllandsposten but probably by some companies.

Today Jyllandsposten called the ads for "falsehood".

IMO they never should have apologized.
Here is the official Jyllandsposten apology:

  6. Yes, JP did not pay for the ads and request them. They said the text was from their original apology on their website. This is a scheme but who did it -the Muslims, western dhimmis?
