What's Iran's Next Step

With Nasrallah in Damascus, what’s the next move by Iranian-Syrian axis? McQ believes Iran senses Israel’s lack of resolve by the cabinet’s vote of 11 to 1 not to take the war to Syrian soil. Thus, there are no ill consequences for Syria and Iran when they support Nasrallah; he becomes a hero through out the Arab world for standing up to Israel “on his own;” and Iran can plan their next move.

What’s Iran’s next more? Jack Kelly (subscription required) speculates that Iran may have bought a nuke from North Korea. Based more on circumstantial evidence, he sees Bad Jad (Ahmadinejad) proceeding with his millennial vision with August 22 being a significant date in the Shia calendar and also the date “Iran said it would reply” to Western nuclear negotiators.

McQ speculates a more conventional plan for Iran’s next move. In any case, it is clear that the West is letting Iran define the time and place of the next battle of this war.

  1. Jack Kelly's speculation goes along the same lines as what I'm thinking. However, it seems too horrible to be true, so I don't believe it even though it does seem a rational interpretation of Ahmadinejad's words.

On August 22nd, I will wake up with a sick feeling in my stomach, and I will run to the computer to find out what the fuck is going on in our world.

  2. We have to take seriously that such a threat will eventually come about if Iran isn't stopped. Will it be in a month? I have grave doubts although it can't be ruled out with certainly; if things continue the way they are going we will reach the point where such a threat will materialize.
