The Family That Walks On All Fours

I saw this on Nova (a PBS program) tonight.

You might notice these people are, uh ...

Oh, forget it.

Have fun with the video. Be careful in the comments section.

And, just to be clear, this is no IBA hoax. If you don't believe me, go ask Adnan or Yasin.

  1. Okay. I can't resist.

Have these all-fours creatures gone apeshit?

Are they the sons of apes? I thought that Muslims hated apes.

Well, I must do some research on this strange phenomenon. I'm ever interested in brain matters.

I wonder if Dr. Oliver Sacks has any info on this behavior?

PS: I wasn't careful in the comments section, as you can see. :^)

  2. I wonder if there is also a Muslim family somewhere that roots in the mud for food?

  3. Aha! Inbreeding. From this source:

The pedigree analysis showed marriages between relatives. This family was similar to the first one (see Tan, 2006a), providing a firm evidence for the new syndrome. The affected children showed habitual quadrupedal walking gait, that is, they walked on wrists and feet with straight legs and arms. Their heads and bodies were mildly flexed; they exhibited mild cerebellar signs, and severe mental retardation....

  4. Ah, more evidence that it is not wise to fool around with Mother Nature. Especially if your first cousin is involved.

  5. Cousin?

In this case, it might very well be sister.
