And now they tell us EXACTLY who they are

Hugo Chavez/Robert Mugabe Alert

I can't wait to hear the rationalizations.

House Democrats call for nationalization of refineries

House Democrats responded to President's Bush's call for Congress to lift the moratorium on offshore drilling. This was at an on-camera press conference fed back live.

Among other things, the Democrats called for the government to own refineries so it could better control the flow of the oil supply.

They also reasserted that the reason the Appropriations Committee markup (where the vote on the amendment to lift the ban) was cancelled so they could focus on preparing the supplemental Iraq spending bill for tomorrow.

At an off-camera briefing, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said the same. And a senior Republican House Appropriations Committee aide adds that "there were multiple reasons for the postponement" including discussion on the supplemental. But the aide said there was the thought that Democrats may wish to avoid a debate today on energy amendments.

Here are the highlights from briefing

We (the government) should own the refineries.

Then we can control how much gets out into the market.

Funny I thought that all was proven to have been pointless in 1989.
Any questions?
Moronic, demagogic, socialist idiots on parade

  1. I agree.

We should nationalise, and bring under US control, all Iraqi, Saudi, Kuwaiti, and Iranian oil refineries.

    Luke 22:35-38

[35] Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?"

    "Nothing," they answered.

[36] He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. [37] It is written: 'And he was numbered with the transgressors'; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment."

[38] The disciples said, "See, Lord, here are two swords."

    "That is enough," he replied.

Now will the voters see this?

  4. No worries, Pasto.

If the republicans miss this one, they don't deserve a single vote.

The democrats want to cry crocodile tears for the 'rights' of KSM, but want to seize private property because they think they sense the bitter, gun hugging, religion hanging, jobless crackers might HATE Exxon, and this will get some votes.

    DISGUSTING

  5. No matter that nationalization has been proven idiotic and a failure. Socialists persist. In education and ed psychology, that's called "perseveration." From Dictionary.com:

    Psychology
Uncontrollable repetition of a particular response, such as a word, phrase, or gesture, despite the absence or cessation of a stimulus, usually caused by brain injury or other organic disorder.

  6. Energy Security = Energy Independence. Nuff said.

News in the UK last night was talking of a 40% increase in energy prices by th end of 2008....on top of the 70% increase we have had in the last 12 months. Reason..? Producers make more money selling to the resource hungry, growing and desperate Chinese economy. Now I am VERY seriously looking at off grid energy production. Sounds crazy but what other choice do we have?
